Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

UN Security Council rejects bid to extend arms embargo on Islamic Republic of Iran

Aug 16, 2020 4:00 pm By Robert Spencer

The UN has been aiding and abetting the international jihad in numerous ways, from its demonization of Israel and assistance to “Palestinian” jihadis to its efforts to intimidate Western countries into accepting Sharia blasphemy laws under the guise of criminalizing “incitement to religious hatred,” for years. The US should end all funding to this corrupt and compromised organization, and expel it from New York.

“UN Security Council rejects resolution to extend the arms embargo on Iran,” Jerusalem Post, August 15, 2020:

NEW YORK/MOSCOW – The United States lost a bid to extend a UN arms embargo on Iran on Friday as Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed a summit of world leaders to avoid a “confrontation” over a US threat to trigger a return of all UN sanctions on Tehran.

Russia and China opposed extending the weapons ban, which is due to expire in October under a 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers. Eleven members of the Security Council abstained, including France, Germany and Britain, while Washington and the Dominican Republic were the only “yes” votes.

“The Security Council’s failure to act decisively in defense of international peace and security is inexcusable,” US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement. “The Security Council rejected direct appeals to extend the arms embargo from numerous countries in the Middle East endangered by Iran’s violence.”…

The UN is just a place to complain about the US and a place to find loans and handouts to failing economies. It’s a failure in its objectives, yet excellent in convincing a nation’s voting populace that their leaders “matter” on the world stage.

The US would be better off to send the UN to Brussels, raze the building, and offer the ground for development. Let it suck on a new teat, say …. Germany.

The US must make up its mind about Iran with or without UN approval. If it is allowed to develop nuclear weapons, Israel will have no choice but to go to war and it’s likely the US will follow. Maybe China and Russia would like to see that; removing more obstacles for the Chinese OBOR.

The Muslim nations signing on to OBOR have no understanding that it comes with minders and a big stick. Like the liberals who think they can create “pure” Marxism, Iran and Pakistan think they could never become the new Uyghurs.

A couple of things you could educate yourself about, Westman –

First, the UN tried to prevent the USA’s disastrous invasion of Iraq in 2003, allegedly to seek and destroy WMDs, which did not exist, and which sane people the world over knew did not exist. This lunatic act of pointless, ill-considered aggression killed hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, devastated an entire country, made millions refugees, destabilised the entire region, and caused continuing conflict and unrest which many of us must live with to this day. If only Bush and Blair had heeded the counsel of wiser members of the United Nations, the world might be a more peaceful place today.

Second, the UN today and every day provides food, shelter and medical help to millions of refugees who have fled their homes and countries because of war or natural disasters. Many of them are refugees directly or indirectly because of the arrant stupidity of George W Bush and Tony Blair.

“The UN is just a place to complain about the US” , you say. Well, perhaps after a moment’s thought, you could work out why some people would want to do that.

Antifaman, Saddam did have weapons of mass destruction but he wasted them all on Kurds who died a nasty death by a variation of mustard gas. GWB did right to put Saddam out of existence but all other efforts to democratize Iraq or any other term you care to use was a waste of time and certainly money. It was not this that destabilized the entire region but rather a civil war where 20 or so different muslim entities picked a fight with Bashar al-Assad and each other. Wiser members of the UN? Name even one!
Does the UN provide shelter and medical help around the world? Well, duh, that is its mandate. Given that Islam is responsible for 90% of the world’s misery it should be footing the bill not the West.
Back to your street fighting against little old ladies.

It’s a bit awkward, Giacomo, that when the Halabja gas massacre of the Kurds took place in 1988, Saddam was a US ally, and was receiving financial support and arms from the USA.

Why was it the USA’s mission to “democratize Iraq” or any other country? Surely after previous disastrous attempts to show other people how to run their countries, they should have known better.
Given current events, shouldn’t somebody teach Americans how to manage their own democracy?

And how could it be that invading Iraq with a massive army, raining bombs, missiles in massive quantities, destroying entire cities, disbanding the entire police force, army and administration and replacing them with nothing, killing hundreds of thousands of civilians, and making millions homeless, did not cause “destabilisation”? It was someone else’s fault? Really?

Why did the US invade to seek WMDs, which you say had already been used against the Kurds? Seems a bit stupid. I seem to remember that Saddam was allegedly developing nuclear weapons. Were they used against the Kurds? Where did they go?

Wiser members of the UN? Giacomo, can you believe ANY member of the UN to be more unpardonably stupid than the ones who staged the catastrophic Iraq invasion, illegally, unnecessarily, and on false pretences, without any idea of the disastrous events which would follow? Wiser? They didn’t even need to be wise, Just sane.

          Antifaman,
Previous disastrous attempts? Name one. For someone who at least once had a fetish over the number one, you sure have changed. Teach Americans how to run their own democracy? Like who? Iran? Russia? Again, no specifics.
Thousands of civilians? Millions of homeless? Not even MSM made such silly statements. The US can give your name to a drone and it would find you without harming anyone else except your fellow Antifa thugs.
As to searching for WMD in Iraq, GWB didn’t care. He had his absurd pie-in-the-sky dream already in place.

Giacomo, you seem to be astonishingly ill-informed about recent events, whether it be Latin America, the Middle East, SE Asia, or the UN. Hence the repeated cry “Name one”.
Well there was a time within living memory, (of some of us), when the US spent massive amounts of treasure, manpower including many American lives, assassinations, bombs, missiles, sprayed poison, etc, etc in a futile effort to show the Vietnamese people how to run their own country. (The survivors have since shown that they are quite capable of doing it unaided.) And yes, that war was disastrous – ask the Vietnamese. Ask the US veterans.

More recently, the US do-gooders have tried to show the Afghans, and the Iraqis how to run their countries. Both attempts spectacular failures. Who next? Trump thinks New Zealand (22 deaths to date) needs his expert advice in pandemic management. When will they learn?

Thousands of deaths, millions of refugees thanks to the Bush/Blair mission? If you don’t know the extent of that catastrophe Giacomo, there’s only one possible explanation – abysmal ignorance. It’s not my job to educate you.

“Bush’s main problem was in not realizing that it is impossible to civilize Muslim countries.”

Right, gravy. How was George to know that several hundred thousand tons of high explosive dropped on Iraq, massive loss of life, followed by armed invasion, wouldn’t be a civilising influence? As every loyal American knows, violence and civilisation go hand in hand. Just look at the US murder statistics.

Both Afghanistan and Iraq had the opportunity to embrace democracy after their dictators were toppled–this is something few in either place actually wanted, and this is because of the malign effect of Islam.

Afghanistan now has stonings back on the books, and authorities in Iraq have murdered teenagers for having “emo” haircuts. Is “Rod” trying to get us to believe that this is due to George Bush? Try again, creep.

“Iraq: ‘Morality police’ stone to death at least 90 young men for ’emo’ appearance”

          https://www.jihadwatch.org/2012/03/iraq-morality-police-stone-to-death-at-least-90-young-men-for-emo-appearance

The grim fact is that the majority of Muslims reject democracy because Islam teaches its opposite.

The USA is not supplying arms to Iran? No wonder they dislike Mr Trump.

The US government does supply arms to Saudi Arabia (billions of dollars), Egypt, Turkey, Lebanon, UAE, Qatar. Past grateful customers have included Saddam Hussein, Gadaffi, the Taliban, the Shah of Iran, Suharto, various murderous dictators in Central and South America, and other nasty people with money to spend.

Obviously the most gigantic arms industry the world has ever seen (dedicated to peace on earth) has to sell its merchandise somewhere. US citizens, exercising their Second Amendment Rights to protect themselves against their fellow US citizens, can only take up some of the demand.

    • Giacomo Latta says

      Aug 17, 2020 at 2:27 pm

Antifaman, thanks to Islam we now have to occasionally take one murderous side or the other, lest one side should become a total victor.
Various murderous dictators in Central and South America? Like who? You have this incorrigible habit of making broad statements without backing them up with even the vaguest of details.
Most gigantic arms industry? An absence of buyers does nothing for sales.

        Aug 17, 2020 at 9:34 pm

Do some research, Giacomo, and you’ll be able to bring yourself up to date with what almost everybody else has known for decades.
(Hints – Archbishop Romero (no he wasn’t a dictator), Somoza, Guatemala, Pinochet. There are many, many, many more – you’ll have a ball).

But starting a murderous illegal unnecessary war on a non-existent pretext is not OK, no matter how frightened you all are of Muslims. Nor is supporting “one murderous side or the other” – (Latin American dictators aren’t Muslims).

          Aug 18, 2020 at 9:04 am

          Antifaman,
The Somozas got assassinated on a regular basis so obviously they didn’t get enough if they got any US military support while friends of Castro did alright everywhere in Central America, and Africa.
Just Pinochet? Try Argentina as well which was effectively run by an out-of-work actress and part-time hooker, and her military husband of course. Some people just can’t enough of strong military men, including Allende who named Pinochet his right-hand man. Many, many, many more? You’re up to your old pathetic ways, Antifaman.
Latin Americans aren’t muslims? No shit, Sherlock. I was referring to countries where Islam and its precepts dominate.
