“ExMuslim TV is a short-video platform where we share our experience, support and inspire each other. Our non-profit platform is dedicated to giving a voice to former and questioning Muslims across the world, in particular those of us who face immediate danger, as well as breaking down the stigma that surrounds us. We stand for civil liberties, equality of rights and strongly against anti-Muslim hate.” This video is featured here.
Apostasy carries the death penalty in Islamic law. This is based on the Qur’an: “They wish you would disbelieve as they disbelieved so you would be alike. So do not take from among them allies until they emigrate for the cause of Allah. But if they turn away, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them and take not from among them any ally or helper.” (Qur’an 4:89)
A Sunni hadith depicts Muhammad saying: “Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him” (Bukhari 9.84.57). This is not just a Sunni idea; the death penalty for apostasy is part of Islamic law according to all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence.
This is still the position of all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence, both Sunni and Shi’ite. Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the most renowned and prominent Muslim cleric in the world, has stated: “The Muslim jurists are unanimous that apostates must be punished, yet they differ as to determining the kind of punishment to be inflicted upon them. The majority of them, including the four main schools of jurisprudence (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali) as well as the other four schools of jurisprudence (the four Shiite schools of Az-Zaidiyyah, Al-Ithna-‘ashriyyah, Al-Ja’fariyyah, and Az-Zaheriyyah) agree that apostates must be executed.”
Qaradawi also once famously said: “If they had gotten rid of the apostasy punishment, Islam wouldn’t exist today.”

Islam contains a teaching called TAQLID … which accounts for the INTELLECTUAL PASSIVITY of Muslims and their general LACK OF INTELLECTUAL CURIOSITY.
-Taqlid (blind imitation or blind adherence) is based on an absence of critical activity on the part of the believer and their acquiescent intellectual passivity to the Islamic sheikh.
-Taqlid is a teaching in Islamic theology referring to the acceptance of a religious ruling in matters of worship and personal affairs from someone regarded as a higher religious authority (e.g. an ‘alim) without necessarily asking for the technical proof.
Key Quotes: “He (the mureed=learner) should remain in submission and with respect and dignity to his expert Shaikh just as a mayyit (dead body) is in the hands of the one who gives it ghusl.”
“Annihilate all your wishes, desires and intentions. Submit yourself to your Shaikh. Do not raise the slightest objection against the taleem (teachings) of your Shaikh.”
(From Irshaadul-Mulook under the heading, ‘Obedience to the Shaikh’)
The Koran warns Muslims not to ask probing questions. Koran 005.101(Yusufali version): “O ye who believe! ASK NOT QUESTIONS about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble. But if ye ask about things when the Qur’an is being revealed, they will be made plain to you, Allah will FORGIVE those: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Forbearing.” (Why do questioners need forgiveness? Is it so wrong to ask for evidence of claim?)
Since demanding answers about Islam’s anomalies will cause a loss of faith, this verse (5.101) suggests the writer knows that Islam is false and can be proved false by probing analysis.
Close examination of Islam does indeed often lead to discovering discrepancies and anomalies in both Koran and hadiths and will in fact cause Muslims to lose their faith in Islam’s messages and messenger.
mortimer says
-Koran 005.102 (Yusufali version): Some people before you did ask such questions, and on that account lost their faith.
To lose one’s faith is a serious matter for a Muslim; they might apostatize from Islam, and under Islamic Law this can be a death sentence. The “Reliance of the Traveller, A Classic Manual of Islamic Scared Law” teaches us that even denying one Koran verse is to apostatize from Islam, and Sharia law declares that all apostates be killed. Very serious thing.
Islam makes it impossible to use independent judgment in matters of religion, because an apostate Muslim will be censured or killed should he dissent from any ‘consensus’ teaching.

Wow, what an intelligent sounding man in that video. He knows first hand the enormous difficulty of reasoning with a full-fledged muslim. You can’t, really. Like he said, they’re brain washed. In their sick minds they truly believe they’re serving god and being a good muslim by acting like a bigoted lunatic. A part of me feels sad for muslims trapped in that mental prison, but a much bigger part of me is fearful of the violence and damage they might do. I don’t see this kind of religious devotion as true love of god or humanity, it’s a cultish kind of attachment in which one seeks acceptance, power, or control. I believe the koran is simply a fetish to most muslims as is muhammad, not a source of wisdom as a divine revelation. They memorize the verses until they’re brainwashed, but they lack the commonsense intelligence that would reveal the idiocy/immorality of their beliefs. I’d like to find a video I once saw of a muslim interviewee on tv about muhammad, where after every sentence or short phrase she felt compelled to say, “May peace be upon him. ” This fawning display of respect for that serial killing robber was embarrassing to me, a sure sign that this lost soul is suffering from a “Jim Jones” syle of brainwashing. [Jim Jones the cult leader whose followers committed mass suicide in Jonestown.] But back to this Ex muslim, he was told, don’t ask questions or they might hurt you. And from their POV that makes perfect sense, questions are the gateway to doubt and doubt leads to apostacy. Islam needs total obedience or it dies. It is not an intellectual, reasoned religion, it’s a retarded dedication to antiquated barbarties of the superstitious kind. The only reason this idiotic religious construct continues to exist is because of the violence it threatens and does.
Not only are western governments betraying their own nations and people they are betraying Ex muslims who want to escape the islamic cult. If these intellignet Ex slaves see that the West is willing to kowtow to islam’s every demand then of course that only increases the danger they’re in. These brave souls need the support of our governments so they can escape crazy totalitarian islam. So many muslims have been murdered–a.k.a, “honor killed.”– because their bigoted parents value demon allah more than their own children, they’re demented. And so many authors, artists, bloggers, and free thinkers have been murdered for simply expressing a fact or opinion about islam. That’s because Islam cannot survive under the light of reason, it must destroy all doubting questions or risk dying itself. Islam is obviously not of god, or even from decent people. It was born of ignorance, bloodshed, and spiritual retardation. And Ex muslims most likely know this, they are slaves who want to be free and we should help them when we can.

Isn’t the Internet wonderful? Ex-muslims can now organise themselves and post videos that embarrass muslims-precisely because they’re true. Enjoyed this one the other night:

Islam is based on half-truths, myths and outright lies, and can no longer cover these up.

I have often wondered how many “closet non believers” there are in Mudslime countries.
The good ol days for the mullahs is coming to an end because more and more of the faithful can actually read.
This simple ability can start the process of critical thinking, something that Mudslime “clerics” don’t want. This is similar to the old days in the Christian churches where the bibles were written in Latin and the only ones who could read Latin were the priests and most of the population were illiterate in their own languages. This made the clergy the direct conduits to God. You want to know something? Go ask a priest, he will ask God and tell you what he wants you to do /think,,,I mean what God wants.
For centuries the Imans have enjoyed this monopoly of controlling the people through ignorance. This is one more reason why they don’t want their women to be able to read and write. Knowledge is power and ignorance is bliss.
But now the balance of power is slowly changing.

I’m glad to see that former Muslims now have a video platform where they can share their experiences. Leaving one’s religion is difficult enough in Western, predominantly Christian societies – as I know only too well – but it would be much more difficult in Islamic societies where the Sharia prescribes death as a punishment for apostasy.
People who spread hatred of Muslims per se, obviously do not know many Muslims, or understand anything about human nature, or the psychology of belief. People are more or less the same everywhere – from the very good to the very bad – across the whole spectrum of human characteristics. Many Muslims are what Westerners often call ‘moderates’, because they do not follow Islam to the letter. However, there is no such thing as ‘moderate Islam’. Islam is what is written in the Quran – with all its hatred of unbelievers and incitement for violence against them.
Islam is an exclusive ideology in every sense of the word. Not even family members are to be befriended if they do not believe in Allah. “You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day having affection for those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even if they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred.” (Quran 58:22). “May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?” (Q63:4). But ironically the ones who are deluded, are not ex-Muslims, but the hard line devout bigots who cannot think for themselves, because that capacity has been destroyed by indoctrination.
“The only statement of the [true] believers when they are called to Allah and His Messenger to judge between them is that they say, ‘We hear and we obey’. And those are the successful”. (Q24:51). If that’s what you call success!
“It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error.” (Q33:36).
I wish halihali19 the best of luck. May his movement grow and prosper.
