In Germany as well as in Britain and Sweden, Muslims are treated as a protected class. If they are offended, police take action, even if their offense is greater. How can any free society survive the establishment of one group as beyond all criticism or offense?

Ana Agre, a young Israeli musician, has been living in Germany for some time to work here.
On July 1, 2020, she came across an anti-Israel demonstration near her home, hosted by the pro-Palestinian organization Samidoun. She went up to her apartment, fetched an Israel flag and took it to the place where the march of young Muslims and their German sympathizers passed. As you can see on the video taken by a friend, it wasn’t even a particularly large flag, about the size of a kitchen towel.
Ana Agre didn’t make any statements, didn’t yell, didn’t speak (if only because she doesn’t speak German, “only” English, Hebrew and Russian), yet the demonstrators obviously felt attacked by her, perhaps also insulted in their “dignity.” As you can read on their website, “dignity” is one of the basic demands of the Arab Samidoun movement. Several of the marching groups approached Ana and berated her with slogans, including “Nazis out!” In the minds of these young Muslims and sympathetic Germans, an Israeli flag is apparently a Nazi symbol.
A Frankfurt police officer spoke to Ana Agre in English, recorded her personal details and advised her to leave the place because her appearance provoked the young Muslims. Ana apparently got involved in an English discussion with the policeman, which he ended by dismissing her. When she wanted to know why she was not allowed to show her Israel flag here in Frankfurt, the official replied: “Because I don’t like it.”

Ana eventually withdrew, as ordered by the police, believing that was the end of it. Not even close. A few days later, a document arrived at her house: a police summons from the Frankfurt criminal investigation department for “insult in accordance with Paragraph 185 of the Criminal Code” for October 7, 2020. The document with the file number ST 0697601/2020, signed by Police Chief Inspector J. Schmidt, ends with the note: “If you do not show up for your questioning / hearing or if you do not state any obstacles to appear at the appointed time, it is assumed that you do not want to provide any information to the police. The case will then be handed over to the responsible prosecuting authority (…) ”
Ana Agre is threatened with “persecution” because she displayed an Israel flag in Frankfurt am Main. The police took the side of the Muslim demonstrators and their left-wing German supporters as a matter of course. What would have happened if right-wing extremists had yelled at and insulted the young Israeli woman? Then the incident would just as naturally have been classified as “anti-Semitic” and included in the statistics of “right-wing anti-Semitic crimes”. This eliminates the “anti-Semitism” accusation (although what happened could be interpreted as follows: a Jew was insulted as a “Nazi”, an Israel flag was described as a Nazi symbol) and the crime is blamed on the Jew. Germany in the year of the Lord 2020 under the rule of Chancellor Angela Merkel.
