Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Harvard hires ‘Palestinian’ jihad terror apologist Saeb Erekat to lecture on diplomacy

Sep 4, 2020 3:00 pm By Robert Spencer

“He has a long history of the most egregious lies, denying Jewish history, and justifying terror attacks. He’s even lied about his own life and his family’s history.”

Sounds as if he’ll fit right in at today’s far-Left indoctrination factory that is Harvard. Harvard is proud to hire a jihad apologist. But would it ever hire a foe of jihad violence? You know the answer.

“Harvard Names Serial Liar and Failed Diplomat Saeb Erekat as a Fellow to Lecture on Diplomacy,” Elder of Ziyon, August 31, 2020:

Remember when actions taken by Harvard University actually meant something?

The Future of Diplomacy Project at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs has named four senior leaders in diplomacy to be Fisher Family Fellows for the 2020-21 academic year: Julie Bishop, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia and Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party; Saeb Erakat, the Chief Palestinian Negotiator and Head of the Negotiations Affairs Department of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO); Federica Mogherini, former High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission; and Peter Wittig, former Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United States.

“We are proud to welcome these four respected global leaders to the Harvard Kennedy School for this academic year. They will strengthen our capacity to learn the lessons of effective diplomacy and statecraft,” said Faculty Chair Nicholas Burns.

The Fellows will speak in virtual seminars in the autumn, hold office hours with students to help foster their professional development and networks, and participate in research initiatives. Public health conditions permitting, the Fellows will visit campus in spring 2021 to lead study groups for Harvard students on topics of their expertise, including on transatlantic relations; the Israeli-Palestinian conflict; and emerging foreign policy and security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region. …

Saeb Erakat has been extensively involved in all negotiations with Israel, including those conducted at Camp David (2000) and in Taba (2001). In 1991, he was the Vice-Chair of the Madrid Peace Delegation and was later the Vice-Chair at the Washington negotiations of 1992. Previously, he served as the Minister of Local Government for the Palestinian National Authority and is also Head of the Palestinian Side of the Steering and Monitoring Committee. He is the author of fourteen books on foreign policy, oil, conflict resolution, and negotiations.

What diplomatic victory has Erakat ever achieved? He has been instrumental in painting the Palestinians into a corner, stopping negotiations with Israel even after “annexation” is off the table, which only hurts his own people.

His brilliant diplomatic skills have succeeded in turning much of the Arab world from pro-Palestinian to lukewarm or hostile.

He has a long history of the most egregious lies, denying Jewish history, and justifying terror attacks. He’s even lied about his own life and his family’s history.

Fitting. In our time, the more prestigious the university the more likely it is to be on the wrong side of history and on the wrong side of the truth. Here Harvard excels.

Just as the mainstream media has lost its collective mind, as has the Democratic Party of the USA, so has higher education in America followed suit. The foolish trinity of the media, Democrats and higher education (actually the entire educational establishment in America from pre-K through graduate school) have become inimical to such laudatory factors as liberty and a ruthless pursuit of where the truth ultimately lies.

For decades we’ve watched a long procession of dumbasses from Harvard cycle through our government, better called gubmint. It don’t get no stupider than hiring a Jihadist spokesperson to work his thing for our leading university. This puts some oomph in the old saying Ivy League Moron, a frequently used identifier on the East Coast, as I quickly learned when I moved out there.

Just to add to your comment, APF, and as I have mentioned before here at JW, within the legal profession it is well known that Ivy League lawyers are the worst-prepared, the most incompetent and the most likely to have an “attitude.”

My sister, who is also an attorney like myself and who has her own law firm, has told me several times that the worst lawyers she has have ever come across are Ivy League lawyers. This confirms what I have personally heard from many other lawyers.

N.B., ALL nine justices on the Supreme Court are Ivy League law school graduates. Some are great like Alito and Thomas, but some are wretched like Ginsberg and Kagan. Way too much legal incest, in any case, on the Supreme Court. I would very much like to see an Ohio State law school graduate on the SC, or one from the University of South Carolina law school, or from the University of Mississippi law school—and so on. Alas, this is not the case.

The Ivy League is so overrated. Immensely so. I remember years ago someone telling me about how they were going to Penn to study geology. When I replied by stating that Penn State, my alma mater, had just about the best Earth and Mineral Sciences College in America (or anywhere on the planet for that matter), she looked at me as though I had just said, “Men from Mars have landed.” Ah, snobbery has no end to how far its ignorance can extend.

        Wellington,

I have a niece who graduated valedictorian from her high school class, got a bachelor’s degree from Stanford, and a Masters degree from Harvard.

She’s now in her 30s and has never held a job that required more than a high school diploma.

Many of her high school classmates went to their home state University and have become physicians, attorneys, engineers, airline pilots, college professors, etc.

        I wish I were kidding – but I am not…

        Wellington,

I have been a mentor for many medical students, interns, and residents.

The absolute worst – and most arrogant – resident that I have ever mentored was a graduate of Harvard Medical School.

I’m sure that many are very competent, but this one sure wasn’t.

        Again, I wish that I were kidding…

Wish you were kidding too, James.

Sadly, the “monstrosity” which is the Ivy League has no let-up to it.

Of course they did. None of the other applicants under consideration demonstrated his level of commitment to biased and factually negligent teaching.

Having a Palestinian diplomat lecture on diplomacy is pretty silly. It’s like taking golf lessons from someone whose rarely held a golf club except in anger and when he did swing at the ball he whiffed every single time.
They would have been wiser to hire a French diplomat – they aren’t much more successful but the food and wine are great.

Harvard’s endowment fund, in 2019, was approximately $40 billion.

For starters, all alumni should stop all donations to this fund until Saeb Erakat is removed from its faculty.

Harvard is like that. They also hired the German foreign ministers, one had thrown stones at policemen when young and never finished school and the other had lost his position because he had plagiarised his doctorate. Harvard’s motto is veritas (truth).

I wonder how much money is flowing into Harvard from the muslim/islamic world. I’ll bet the Saudis have added millions to Harvards endowment fund. How strange our America is, we will sell anything and everything for enough dollars even to our enemies.

Harvard can hire anyone it likes since it’s a private institution, but please don’t ask taxpayers to fund it. End Harvard’s tax exemptions now.
