“Turkey’s Aktif Bank facilitated money transfers for Taliban, porn industry – report,” Ahval News, September 21, 2020 (thanks to Henry):
FinCEN Files, a number of leaked classified documents from the U.S. Department of the Treasury, shed a light on Turkey’s Aktif Bank central role in facilitating financial transactions deemed suspicious, Deutsche Welle said on Monday.
Aktif Bank, owned by Ahmet Çalık, a close business ally of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is suspected of carrying out money laundering on grand scale “for a customer network that includes the scandal-ridden German financial service provider Wirecard and shady figures from the porn industry,” DW said.
Turkish Energy Minister Berat Albayrak, Erdoğan’s son-in-law, was CEO of Aktifbank’s parent group, Çalık Holding, at the time when several “suspicious transactions” were made, it said.
FinCEN Files was leaked to BuzzFeed News and shared with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ). The files from the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), is a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury that collects and analyses information about financial transactions in order to combat domestic and international money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes….
Aktif Bank’s Afghanistan operations, with 561 “suspicious transfers” worth $35.3 million from Afghan accounts, are also under spotlight. The transfers suggest money laundering since there is no information on the companies, raising question of possibility of being shell companies, DW said.
The New Kabul Bank, an institution that was at the centre of a billion-dollar corruption scandal in 2010 and Watan Oil and Gas, accused of having links to the radical Islamist Taliban by the U.S. government.
U.S. government’s investigation into Watan group revealed that it had paid the Taliban several million dollars in return for protecting their convoys, DW said.
Iranian-Turkish gold dealer Reza Zarrab said he bagan channelling cash to Iran’s central bank after opening an account with Aktif Bank, with the help of then Minister for Europe Egemen Bağış, starting with 5 to 10 million euros per day and evading U.S. sanctions on Iran, in his testimony in 2007….

“…shady figures from the porn industry..”
For some reason (and I’m not kidding), my first thought when reading this was that Mohammed would have fit right in. After all, he was a very shady figure and the marrying of girls and the sanctioning of the raping of non-Muslim women (“captives of the right hand”) goes hand-in-hand with the parasitic porn industry—parasitism in many avenues of human behavior being something else Mo’s creed is clearly very good at, not the least example being how the Koran is clearly a parasitic (and very badly done) rip-off of the Bible.

Islam’s creed is steeped in graft … Muslim leaders know that Mohammed’s last command to his henchmen was to continue giving bribes to emissaries ‘as you have seen me do’. That means that it is SUNNA (i.e. Islamic holy tradition) to practice bribery on an international scale.
The Koran has more quotes from the heretical, GNOSTIC TEXTS than it does from the New Testament, dear Wellington. The Koran has well over 700 discrepancies between the Bible and itself. A friend of mine who studied the Koran for 20 years has found 700, but at that point he stopped counting; he believes there may be as many as 900 discrepancies.
The author of the Koran quoted various scriptures, OT, NT, Gnostics and the Talmud, but in all cases, the quotes are distorted, mischaracterized, misquoted, misinterpreted and factually changed. The author of the Koran had NO concern for facts, accuracy or detail. He quoted those books to provide an ATMOSPHERE of HOCUS POCUS and mystery, as well as to portray himself as ‘religious’. The Jews of Mohammed’s time thought it a joke that a self-styled ‘prophet’ COULD NOT EVEN READ (all Jews can read … part of their religion) and that he had not read or studied the Bible. Mohammed was an obvious charlatan and quack to the people of his time.
What we read in the Koran that we have today has been RE-EDITED more than 100 years following Mohammed and it has 3 discernible “layers” of three different texts that contradict one another. The Koran is an obvious re-write of previous materials and VERY BADLY EDITED! The Koran was gathered from many different sources (some probably not even Islamic) and thrown together very quickly for the purpose of having a book for propaganda purposes. Caliph Abd al Malik knew he couldn’t fabricate a new religion without a religious book as its source text.
mortimer says
The Koran reminds me of major paper written by a student who waited until the last one or two weeks before due date and then threw a pile of garbage together rapidly and without sleep for two straight weeks. The result is the Koran a disjointed, confused, meandering, ungrammatical piece of looniness that sounds like a dialogue between a man and the voices in his head.
Wellington says
I wonder, moritmer, who was the author of the Koran. I proceed on the assumption that it was not Allah because Allah does not exist.
Was it a joint effort? One warped man’s work? How much of Mohammed’s clearly delusional statements were finally wrapped up in it? And how many times edited and re-edited before the final “sanctified state” mankind has it in now?
