Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Al-Azhar grand imam says man who beheaded teacher doesn’t speak for Islam, but warns against ‘insulting religions’

Oct 24, 2020 2:00 pm By Christine Douglass-Williams 38 Comments

Ahmed al-Tayeb, the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, said: “I declare that Islam, its teachings and its Prophet are innocent of this wicked terrorist crime….At the same time, I emphasize that insulting religions and attacking their sacred symbols under the banner of freedom of expression is an intellectual double standard and an open invitation to hatred.”

No it isn’t a double standard or an “invitation to hatred,” at least not for any other religion except Islam. Al-Tayeb — hailed by many Sunni Muslims as the highest authority in Sunni Islam — is the one who is inciting hatred, issuing a sly justification for violence against “blasphemers” such as that which was perpetrated against French teacher Samuel Paty. He is subtly saying that Paty “invited” hatred, from which it is easy to conclude that he deserved what he got. This is much in keeping with the statements of Sheikh Ali Al-Yousuf of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, who praised the Muslim migrant teen who beheaded Paty, stating that the teen only took it upon himself to carry out the death penalty for insulting the Prophet Muhammad.

This subtle call for hatred and violence in defense of Islam is nothing new for the Grand Sheikh of Al Azhar. He also incited jihad terror when he declared in January 2018 that Trump’s Jerusalem decision would lead to violence. In a shocking CNN interview,  El-Tayeb made some eyebrow-raising declarations:

  • He referred to Jerusalem as “100 percent Arab” under Israeli occupation;
  • He stated that “no religion” would support the declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel;
  • He said that decisions such as this one would nurture terrorism, and said that:
  • Because of this decision, the East and the West “will drown in seas of blood.”

Ahmed al-Tayeb not a man of peace. More about el-Tayeb:

  • He has justified anti-Semitism on Qur’anic grounds;
  • He called for the Islamic State murderers of a Jordanian pilot to be crucified or have their hands and feet amputated on opposite sides (as per the penalty in Qur’an 5:33 for those who make war against Allah and his messenger or spread “mischief” in the land);
  • He broke off “dialogue” with the Vatican after Pope Benedict XVI dared to criticize the jihad massacre of 21 Christians in Alexandria on New Year’s Eve 2011.
  • Al-Azhar was also revealed to be offering free copies of a book that called for the slaughter of Christians and other Infidels.

And yet el-Tayeb deceptively states:

This terrorist does not speak for the religion of the Prophet Muhammad any more than the terrorist in New Zealand, who killed Muslims in a mosque, spoke for the religion of Jesus.

Nowhere does Christianity teach such violence; nor does any historically Christian state carry out barbaric penalties for such offenses as blasphemy and apostasy.

“Al-Azhar imam condemns beheading, but says insults to religion ‘invite hatred,’” AFP, October 21, 2020:

ROME — The grand imam of Al-Azhar condemned the beheading of a French teacher but said insulting religions in the name of free speech was an “invitation to hatred,” in a speech read out on Tuesday.

The address written by Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb of Egypt’s prestigious Sunni Islamic institution was read out in Rome’s Capitol Square in front of a gathering of Christian, Jewish and Buddhist leaders including Pope Francis and France’s Chief Rabbi Haim Korsia.

They had come together to sign a joint call for peace.

“As a Muslim and the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, I declare that Islam, its teachings and its Prophet are innocent of this wicked terrorist crime,” Tayeb said in his speech, referring to the beheading of French teacher Samuel Paty on Friday.

“At the same time, I emphasize that insulting religions and attacking their sacred symbols under the banner of freedom of expression is an intellectual double standard and an open invitation to hatred.”…

“This terrorist doesn’t speak for the religion of the Prophet Mohammed any more than the terrorist in New Zealand who killed Muslims in the mosque spoke for the religion of Jesus,” Tayeb said in his speech.

Police have arrested 16 people, including a known Islamist radical and four members of Anzorov’s family.

On Monday, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said the radical and the father had in effect issued a “fatwa” against the teacher…..

      Islam does indeed insult every other religion and even criminalizes them if they are practiced fully inside Muslim countries.

      The freedom of expression is in fact the freedom to INSULT RELIGIONS.

      Without that freedom, we would all live in theocracies.

      Khaybar was a Jewish village near Medina which Mohammed and his army attacked 629 AD. Mohammed had the several hundred men and young boys beheaded the same way way Isil does, all lined up in front of the ditch for quick burial. All the women and small children taken slaves including one Jewish woman Mohammed want for his wife, IF she Converted, or sex slave. She chose the position of slave. Mohammed is supposed to be the perfect model for all men. Maybe things should be explained better to Muslims if they really want to stop terrorism or the crimes against nonmuslims or blasphemous people which we hear so much about. Pakistan comes to mind as one in the public view but it is all of them.

        What are you saying is a big lie, Mohammed, nor his soldiers have executed any Jewish person, but they asked the Jewish rabbis to follow their own religion to punish the jews, at which they (the rabbis)ordered the execution of their own people in accordance to their own torah.
        Why were they executed?very simple, they betrade a deal with Mohammed and his army to defend the western part of the attacked city of Medina, and their betrayal caused Muslims to lose many lives and positions.
        This is called an act of TREASON , and this is punishable by death even in the USA.

        YOU ARE LYING, PERIOD.

      I wonder what punishment Ahmed al-Tayeb, the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, would recommend for the Muslim man who vandalised (ie. ripped out) the Christian Cross on the small village church in the UK? Beheading, or discharge without conviction, and a warning not to do it again?

    It seems to me that we have a choice between insulting our own intelligence or speaking frankly about Islam which of course Muslims will call insulting Islam or Islamophobia. Will someone please explain to me how you insult an ideology which was invented by a caravan robber who took sex slaves, murdered his critics, claimed that god proclaimed that women are inferior to men and promised a carnal paradise to Arabs who joined him in his murder and mayhem for profit, or should I say prophet? And oh yes, the so-called holy book is filled with xenophobia, hate, obvious lies, contradictions and irrationality.

      100% correct.

      And yes, speaking the truth about what the koran teaches is insulting to muslims.

      Interestingly, speaking the truth about what the New Testament teaches is welcomed by Christians.

    Muslims like this want it both ways, they want to appear reasonable and sensitive to murder but also want others to remember what they’ll get if they speak against islam. I might have more sympathy for his POV if this kind of bigotry wasn’t so rampant in islam from the beginning. It started with allah and muhammad and has been going strong ever since. The muslim god and founding “prophet” were themselves terrorists who killed “unbelievers,” it rings hollow to hear him say islam’s “teachings and its prophet are innocent.” It’s just more taqiya b.s. from an imam playing the poor victim whose feelings are hurt. Well we’re hurting too because of all the terror, rape, and cultural jihad your people are doing. He acts outraged over cartoon humor while we lose our freedoms, peace, and nations to supremacist thinking muslims. Somehow I don’t feel bad for him or his brethren standing in their bloody hypocrisy for allah.

    Sharia law calls for blasphemers to be executed.

    “We have already discussed killing the person who, with intent, curses the Prophet, belittles him or slights him in any way. The judgement in this case is clear.” (i.e. death) – Qadhi Iyaadh in ash-Shifa, Volume No.2, Page No. 27

    AL AZHAR OFFICIALLY SUPPORTED THE MURDER OF AN EGYPTIAN BLASPHEMER IN 1992.

    In 1992, Islamist militants gunned down Egyptian secularist Farag Foda. Before his death, he had been declared an apostate and enemy of Islam. During the trial of the murderers, Al Azhar scholar Muhammad al-Ghazali testified that when the state fails to punish apostates, somebody else has to do it.

    No doctrine depends on a single Koranic verse, but on the Koran, hadiths, Sira and canonical rulings. What is ‘normative Islam’ is decided by the fatwa department at Al Azhar University, not by private opinion. In the 1992 murder of apostate Farag Foda, Al Azhar’s scholars argued that when the state fails to punish apostates, somebody else has to do it.”

    Ahmed al-Tayeb is clearly a deceiver practicing the black art of TAQIYYA.

    The great great warlord doesn’t realize that he is an impersonalist, cutting off God’s hands and face, all out of envy, ‘worshipping’ only God’s energy, hoping to steal it.

    “Un dernier et tout récent sondage,…… par, notamment, la fondation Jean-Jaurès, et publié le 2 septembre 2020, indiquait que

    74 % des Français musulmans de moins de 25 ans mettaient « l’islam avant la République »,

    alors qu’ils n’étaient, comme nous venons de le constater, que 50 % en septembre 2016.”

    MY TRANSLATION

    “Latest et very recent SURVEY,…..by,notably, the Jean Jaures Foundation

    ( my note: he was a Famous Socialist who was ASSASINATED in 1914 for Opposing the Idea of France participating in WW I )

    and published on SEPTEMBER 2, 2020, indicate that

    74% of FRENCH MUSLIMS UNDER 25, placed “ISLAM BEFORE the REPUBLIC ( my note:the French Republic),

    while it was,as we have noted, 50% in SEPTEMBER 2016”

    CONCLUSION: in 4 YEARS it increased by 25%.

      The West is accustomed to receiving poll findings as revealing what individuals think or judge. Remember that in Islam individual thoughts and judgments are strongly discouraged. The findings of these polls above actually reflect what is INSTRUCTED in the mosques (where kuffar are not allowed to be present).
      China has recently demolished many mosques. They understand that these are conspiracy houses which present a danger to the State.

    This imam is so blinded by his “religion” that he can’t see the incredible irony of his position. He’s offended over cartoons for a bigoted god who was himself the most intolerant, insensitive god in history toward the religions of others unto murder. Apparently it’s okay for a religion to advocate the murder of “unbelievers” but heaven forbid we should crack a joke that’s critical of their devotion to that god. Muslims are murderous bullies because their god was a murderous bully. And I gotta be honest, I don’t like bullies.

      Honesty in this time is really refreshing. So many tell so many, many lies in furtherance of spreading evil, it just makes me ill.

      It’s dishonest nature that causes one to point an accusing finger at another for doing what the finger-pointer is doing. A liar points an accusing finger, calling others liars. Someone like this imam…grand he is not…..is unable to see that he is twisted in his mind (can’t say thinking, cause I don’t believe he actually ‘thinks.’)

      And I don’t like bullies, either. Arrogance is revolting, also.
