Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Cardinal Says Devout Joe Biden Is Actually a Bad Catholic. Would the Pope Agree?

Oct 3, 2020 5:00 pm By Robert Spencer 78 Comments

My latest in PJ Media:

Is the ostentatiously devout Catholic Joe Biden, who wore a Rosary (or was it wire?) on his wrist while debating Donald Trump, really a bad Catholic? Prolife Catholics have been saying so for years, and now a leading bishop has spoken up on their side. The Catholic News Agency reported Tuesday that Cardinal Raymond Burke, “a canon lawyer and formerly the prefect of the Church’s highest court, has said that Catholic politicians supporting abortion should not receive Holy Communion, including pro-choice Catholic presidential candidate Joe Biden.”

That’s the kind of statement that makes you formerly the “prefect of the Church’s highest court.”

Biden, Burke asserted, “is not a Catholic in good standing and he should not approach to receive Holy Communion,” because “a Catholic may not support abortion in any shape or form because it is one of the most grievous sins against human life.”

If that is the case, then Biden is clearly not a Catholic in good standing. Accordingly, Burke stated, “I would tell him not to approach Holy Communion out of charity toward him, because that would be a sacrilege, and a danger to the salvation of his own soul. But also he should not approach to receive Holy Communion because he gives scandal to everyone. Because if someone says ‘well, I’m a devout Catholic’ and at the same time is promoting abortion, it gives the impression to others that it’s acceptable for a Catholic to be in favor of abortion and of course it’s absolutely not acceptable. It never has been, it never will be.”

The good Cardinal is right in a sense. That is indeed the teaching of the Catholic Church. But teaching is one thing and practice is quite enough. Pope Francis has repeatedly made it clear that as far as he is concerned, the real sins, the real serious sins that get you a tongue-lashing from the Roman Pontiff and doubtless a date with hellfire in the age to come, are opposing mass Muslim migration into the West and believing that Islam is not a religion of peace. Abortion? Come on, man! That’s child’s play, so to speak, compared to the big sins.

There is much more. Read the rest here.

Biden’s church says that abortion is a breach of the 5th commandment: ‘Thou shalt not kill.’ That teaching is unambiguous. Biden should thus be declared excommunicated ipso facto.

        ‘Thou shalt not kill’
Does it apply to people targeted and murdered by remote controlled American drones, or the innocent civilians who found themselves under the US bombs and missiles rained on Iraqi cities in 2003, or the man murdered by US Navy Seals in his own home in a Pakistan village, together with unknown numbers of his family, while the assembled leaders of the US government watched the event, seated at leisure in the White House?
Some countries, including mine, abolished capital punishment, generations ago. Not the USA, strangely.

Who should be excommunicated now? The teaching – “Thou shalt not kill”, mortimer assures us, is “unambiguous”. Yes, he says, “unambiguous”.

          Rod

As you know the commandment not to kill does not apply to defending oneself by killing the enemy in a time of war. The person you dishonestly describe as “a man murdered in a Pakistani village” declared war on the United States in 1996. If he had been justly killed at any time during the next five years then the lives of 3000 innocent people on 9/11 may have have been saved and the world spared the devastation and unrest which has occurred as a result of that insane and evil attack.

          Try harder.

          Antifaman,
And because the koran says no such thing, in fact, it specifies that Jews should be seized and have their throats slit. Ditto Christians. And it is for these reasons the ”something that somebody did” shall remain an event not critiqued by yourself as shall any murder committed by a muslim? Because the koran says this stuff is A-OK? This is Jihad Watch after all, not Non-muslim Watch so that must be it.
Pray tell, o magnificent one, who was responsible for the aforementioned ”something”? Was it da Jooz?

The Commandment “thou shalt not kill” clearly refers to murder, not defense.

The vicious “Rod” pretends that defending against Jihad terror is murder–note that he has *no* such problems with Jihad terror itself.

He wrote: “…or the man murdered by US Navy Seals in his own home in a Pakistan village, together with unknown numbers of his family…”.

This is, no doubt, a reference to Osama bin Laden–note that “Rod” has *no* issues with his murdering almost 3000 innocent victims; he just wrings his hands over this Jihad terrorist being taken out.

Then, Navy Seals went out of their way to avoid killing non-combatant family members, including a woman used as human shield by a cowardly Jihadist.

Then, I believe that “Rod” has said that he is using the UK as a base. Britain has ended capital punishment, but the implication that they do not defend against Jihad terror is quite false, *including the use of drone strikes*.

“Rod” hopes we don’t know this, of course.

It’s fascinating to see how many rules the big man in the sky made for us to follow, without ever writing them down. So, we just have to work out what He intended. Some people are clearly very good at this. Others seem to get it all wrong. mortimer thinks “Thou shalt not kill” means what it says, unambiguously. Others can see clearly that “Thou shalt not kill” really means “Thou canst kill sometimes, on special occasions”. So confusing.

My conclusion – the big man in the sky needs to be told off for doing His job with such pathetic incompetence. Why doesn’t He tell mortimer and the rest of us what He meant?

And He owes us an apology for letting His Chosen President catch the pestilence which should strike down only wicked Muslims and Democrats. Hopeless!

One of Robert’s lesser quality articles, he and most of you are fishing too hard to get Trump re-elected. Biden, like Trump, is trying to be a leader for all ppl. That means he cannot let his religion overrule fairness toward others. Thus I refute that Biden is ‘promoting’ abortion. He is trying to mind his own business and weighing the Catechisms as a whole, and the fact that they say you are accountable even indirectly for another person’s death means you have to take into account the pain, emotional suffering and occasional death of women so spiritually and practically poor that they seek a back alley procedure. We will never stop pregnancies nor abortions. The subject is one of the least nuanced and most mismanaged by our government which puts the poor on a seesaw, while our rich Republicans, Rep. Dr DesJarlais, et al. secretly pay out of their pockets for abortions while attempting to keep it out of reach for others. Disgusting hypocrisy. I don’t take the subject casually, it is sad when ppl act self destructively. But at early stages before full sentience, I say “Mind your own business, and fix your own house”. It’s also disgusting hypocrisy that ppl repeatedly get on that bandwagon for political gain since it is such an emotionally charged subject and drag all of us onto the SCOTUS seesaw when Congress should take responsibility for stabilizing the protocol and keep SCOTUS out of it. I like Sen Josh Hawley, but not bcz he exploited that subject to win his seat on a “Goody Two Shoes “ platform.

You all know why Trump suddenly took an anti abortion posture: it helped him get the presidency. Who really believes the man cares about any children but his own, and then maybe only bcz they make trustworthy business partners who won’t squeal on him. And we who hypocritically gave this newcomer to religion that power to fight abortion, also gave him the power to aid and abet the deaths by careless Covid management of many .mature and sentient people, probably way more than the number of fetuses he could save. It’s the law of Unintended Consequences, when the preacher talks with forked tongue like the Pied Piper.

There is probably more damaging hypocrisy within the Catholic Church than any other institution on on earth. And this is possibly the last institution on earth where one might have expected to find it. Deeply, deeply distressing and depressing. For hypocrisy and hypocrites Jesus had more passionate criticism than any other sinful behaviour.

You take great liberty with the facts. What is fair about terminating the lives of the most innocent and vulnerable human beings? Democrats are not near bystanders on this issue. They support the termination of these human beings right up to the moment of birth and some, such as Obama, even support infanticide.

A core Catholic belief is that God creates life and only God may terminate life except in self-defence or otherwise if otherwise justified. Terminating the life of an innocent human being God created within you is not justified. It is an abomination.

He has divorced and married 3 times… (His daugheter Ivanka converted to hebraism, ok that it is not his fault, but he does not seem to be very successfull in transmitting his faith to his own children… ) . Of course, Trump and Biden are not the first 2 politicians that can be regarded as hypocrites on this issue.

          Eddie

I have seen videos of President Trump denouncing white supremacy going back to 2016. In his comments regarding the demonstrations at Charlottesville, President Trump specifically stated after he said that there were good people on both sides (i.e. those in favour of tearing down the statues and those in favour of keeping them up) that he was not referring to the neo-Nazis and white supremacists. He said that they be condemned.

The Media and the Democrats (sorry for repeating myself) have been lying about what President Trump said about Charlottesville ever since. Joe Biden began his election campaign by repeating The Charlottesville Lie while ironically claiming that he was running in order to return decency to the White House. I’ve seen him repeat this lie at least six times since. The Charlottesville lie has been told so many times that people who should know better, including John Roberts of Fox News, believe it to be true.

The Trump campaign should produce an ad debunking The Charlottesville Lie and run it 24/7 until election day. If they do, perhaps by November 3 most Americans, perhaps not including you, will know the truth. Racism is a destructive sin. As is falsely accusing someone of being a racist.

You are in violation of the Commandment not to bear false witness.

eddie has been here since 2014, and has only condemned Jihad *in the last few days*–and only then because I called him on it. Why would he have waited *six years* to say anything if he opposed Jihad in the strongest terms?

And he does not mention anything he particularly opposes–odd, no, on a site dedicated to exposing Jihad? Does he have a problem with Muslims raping Infidels? Stabbing them? Bombing them? Not so he says.

Then, I have asked him repeatedly what President Trump has said that is racist–and he has ignored this, as well. In fact, *he* has been the one ranting and using the “N” word. All very telling.

          Oct 4, 2020 at 11:48 pm

It would be the easiest thing in the world to condemn white supremacy; moreover, vitally important at this critical time. A few words would be enough.

Yet, put to the test, Trump could not, would not do it.

Biden has been wandering the American political landscape for 47 years I still cannot find anyone to point out what he has done in all that time.

Biden wandering the political landscape for 47 years and done nothing, really, he’s made his family quite wealthy selling the citizens of the USA out to the highest bidder.

I should have said if he did any real good for the country or progress for the people he was elected to represent. He did very well for his family especially the million dollar no show jobs he got for his drug addict son Hunter with China and Russia ! It is wonderful how the MSM will not bring that up or ask Biden about it.

Old mother Trump as you so rudely put it, was not that old when she had Donald, she did not keep pumping out kids for the Jihad like your “deficient minded” mother probably did.

Roman Catholic doctrine does not allow for abortion under any condition, including rape, incest, if the life of the mother is at stake or if the fetus is to be born horribly deformed. This is Roman Catholic Canon Law and Biden is so far from this that, as near as I can tell, he’s OK with abortion just days or even hours before birth.

Thus, Biden is a very bad Catholic. No way around this.

It is interesting to note that all four schools of Islamic thought do not permit abortion after 120 days of gestation. That is the point at which the soul is thought to be “breathed” into the body and the fetus becomes a human being. The Roman Catholic Church holds that the point at which the soul enters the body cannot be known and therefore the default position should be that “ensoulment” takes place at conception.

As far as abortion being performed in order to save the life of the mother, Muslims do not forbid it up to the 120 day mark following conception and, while viewing the death of the fetus as still being bad, think of it as something less evil than letting the mother die due to her pregnancy. The Catholic Church forbids intentional abortion even to save the life of the mother – except that any medical procedure or medication that would save the mother but indirectly and unintentionally kill the fetus IS allowable.

So, if Biden supports allowing abortion at any time he would be a bad Catholic and if he supports allowing it after the first four months of pregnancy he would also be a bad Muslim … except since Muhammad did not object to the killing of Infidel children because they were of and among them (the Infidels) I don’t think Muslims are very concerned about Infidel women having abortions.

I seem to recall, although I can’t remember where I read it, that in Jurisprudence, when an issue is in doubt, no precedent, error on the side of caution, i.e. don’t murder the baby in the womb.

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

I was sorry to inform you recently that Pres Bonespurs had bought up most of the world’s supplies of remdesvir for the exclusive use of the lords of creation. So, many poor folk in Poland or Bolivia, unlike Americans, might now be denied the benefits of this drug to help them battle the horrible Covid disease.

However, good news. I read today that Bonespurs himself is now enjoying the benefits of his own foresight, and has had a dose of this promising drug. Hopefully he’ll now make a speedy recovery.

Does his example of greed and selfishness mean that His Holiness will pronounce him to be as bad a Catholic as Mr Biden obviously must be? Or is Bonespurs so far above common humanity that different standards apply?

Holy Granola Rod, you are a man who pushes valid thoughts and truth with humor. Hard to believe how suddenly holy our other friends think the rigid Catholic Church, home to so many who fail the tests of candor, self control and chastity, is. Quoting a priest on morality is risky, but I do bow to the truly dedicated. ECCLESIASTES: there is no justice in the courts or the royal palace. Something like what Diogenes would say.

      Antifaman,
You already admitted that Remdesivir (try spelling it once the correct way for the first in umpteen failed attempts) is not a cure for COVID-19 so why the change in your unalterable and unassailable opinion? Who, besides your made-up doctor friend who claimed it was a cure, has said it was the US, acting solely on the order of the POTUS, that cornered the market of this drug? Even the MSM has spoken of such a thing. If China or Russia thought it was worth anything do you think they wouldn’t own a major chunk of it?
And it was the POTUS who tried to corner the market because he just knew that he himself would come down with COVID-19? Wow, that takes genius, which is what no other world leader had at the time in order to alleviate possibly (not cure) the aftereffects of COVID-19. Such genius is not part of your makeup, except if it is ”makeup.”

Giacomo, I’ve tried to decipher your post, but with the confusing mix of untruths, half-truths, fantasy and non sequiturs, I had to give up. Sorry. You don’t like my spelling? I’ll try to do better – probably the fault of my “doctor friend” (who, what?)

All truths, sport, but if you think otherwise, get specific. Why Antifa picked someone as vacant and gutless as you to pseudo-debate is beyond me. ”Who? What?” You can’t even remember what you’ve written in the past two weeks? Pitiful!

I just did two searches with Google Images. “pope meets joe biden” and “pope meets trump”. The pope’s face says it all. It looks like abortion doesn’t matter at all to the pope.

The problem is that there is a huge level of disagreement about determining the point at which a human being becomes a human being. Is it at conception? Is it 120 days after conception? Is it at the point of birth … or even a few hours after that? The U.S. needs to decide upon just what that point is and whether or not full rights of citizenship are conferred at that point.

As a Catholic Joe Biden has a duty to both his church and to his country. He can’t change the laws of his church but he once had, and wants to have again, some influence over what the laws of his country are. If he does not try to keep the laws of his country in agreement with the laws of his church as much as possible I would say, yes, he is a bad Catholic. The Pope and other leader within the Roman Catholic Church should tell him this.

And, staying consistent in my own views … if he were a Muslim I would say the same. If he were a Muslim and didn’t try to make the laws of the land agree with his religion, I would say he was a bad Muslim. Muslims would tell him this and, in fact, Muhammad did tell his followers as much. It’s something I have commented upon for many, many years now. But, oh well ….
