This is quite similar to charging opponents of jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women and others with “Islamophobia,” which implies that opposition to such evils are afflicted with a pathology, a psychological disorder. The logic of that leads to pseudo-therapeutic torture in reeducation camps, but we aren’t quite there yet. In any case, these statements from Erdogan are yet another example of how any opposition to jihad violence, no matter how mild, is excoriated and stigmatized by those who support that violence. And so many people in the U.S. and Europe fall for this every time.
“Turkey’s Erdogan says Macron ‘needs treatment’ over attitude to Muslims,” Reuters, October 24, 2020:
ISTANBUL (Reuters) – Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan launched a fresh attack on his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on Saturday, saying he needed mental treatment over his attitude towards Muslims and Islam….
“What is the problem of this person called Macron with Muslims and Islam? Macron needs treatment on a mental level,” Erdogan said in a speech at a provincial congress of his AK Party in the central Turkish city of Kayseri.
“What else can be said to a head of state who does not understand freedom of belief and who behaves in this way to millions of people living in his country who are members of a different faith?” Erdogan added….

Tayyip, please be considerate and understand that when a person who’s lived for decades in a delusional experiences a sudden moment of clarity, he can be disoriented. But don’t worry, Macron will be back to lip serving Islam soon enough.
Lavéritétriomphera says

We support our president.
We should note it’s almost impossible to eradicate from communities ideas and customs they cherish. Macron knows this, therefore he fights against islamism or radical Islam if you prefer. Everyone, including the opposition parties and Muslims, understands Macron’s position on this subject.
The Arabic world doesn’t want to see, and they aren’t alone, a resurgence of the Ottoman Empire. “Erdogan is président of Turkey, he is not the the president of the Muslims that are able to defend themselves. Erdogan is on the wrong path and following the American election he should be right to be afraid (I understood Turkey could be thrown out of NATO)” I heard.

Frank Anderson says
Friend Kevin, pretending there is a radical and moderate islam is delusional and has no foundation in the origin, teachings or practice of the criminal conspiracy claiming to be a protected religion. Islam’s openly stated goal is the conquest of the entire world and the murder or enslavement of all who resist. Some muslims are either more patient than others, or not willing or able to do the violence themselves as they support others in doing it for them. Pretending will not make it go away. France of all places, like the UK, had a harsh, expensive and deadly lesson on that with Hitler. Stephen King’s SSDD. For Liberty to Triumph, it must be claimed. It does not happen by itlself.
Rufolino says
No, I don’t prefer the term “radical Islam”. Erdogan himself said there is “no such thing, there is only Islam.”. The Koran is Islam, and it is extreme !
Lavéritétriomphera says
@Friend Frank,
Bien à toi
France is in shock but you’ll agree with me it is not helpful to cry over us ad libitum.
I understood Macron has no illusions about human beliefs whatever they are. It is possible he believes in a higher reality but it is obvious to me that he thinks religions, including Islam, are man-made. It is our responsibility to endorse the reality that some people cannot live without “believing” in an ideological or religious fundamentalism they call “The Truth“. It is something we have to deal with, but that doesn’t mean we must sit back. We all agree the Islamists are dangerous and that they must be neutralized.
Erdogan doesn’t hide his ambition to rebuilt the Ottoman Empire and he is the leader of the Muslim brotherhood. Macron didn’t hide his sympathies for the Greek cause, he approved the Mohammed’s cartoons, he condemns the Muslim separatism and clearly all of this doesn’t pleased the Muslim brotherhood and Erdogan at all.
Merci pour ta sollicitude
Stay safe

Are we talking about the same Macron who said (paraphrased): “we need French islam” and “there is no such thing as French culture”? The same Macron who persists on permanently keeping open borders for muslims all over the world? The same Macron that keeps introducing new “green” laws to the detriment of the taxpaying native (white) French citizens? Please… There should be a limit to one’s willful blindness.
The only thing Macron is good at is lip service because he knows the French aren’t stupid; the yellow Vest movement speaks to this fact. He would also do an occasional “firm” action like deporting a muslim or two once every 6 months or so for the sole reason of scoring political points with the commoners. In reality, that does absolutely nothing in the long (or even short) run. If you think he will miraculously eradicate the muslim threat and lift the permanent police state (armored vehicles and police on every corner) that France has been in for years, you’re deluding yourself.
You also seem to forget that he comes from a globalist bankers’ background. Those people do not care about anything other than filling their pockets and destroying the concept of a traditional sovereign Western nation/culture/people. The sooner you (and your fellow Frenchmen) realize this fact, the bigger your chances of preserving your country as you once knew it.

Frank Anderson says
Peter, no doubt you are being humorous: Insanity and denial are essential to accepting and living islam.
Ann Coulter a really long time ago made many headlines with the truthful observation that if Democrats had brains they would be Republicans. If muslims were allowed to think without the penalty of death for thinking (reform) or leaving (apostasy), they would leave, But they dare not think. Remember George Orwell’s 1984, “He loved Big Brother!” God bless and protect all who do leave.

A limit has been reached…at last…if Mr. Macron stands firm against the machinations of the murderous moslims.

I just separated his name by syllables, not meaning anything against the canine animal. How about ‘er moslim wan’ or er snake wan? Never met a snake that was friendly to me. Snakes have frequently been in my night mares and satan is said to be the “original serpent” in the Bible.
No offense meant to dogs or their owners. I’ve had a few of my own. And cried when they died. No tears for this slime in turkey.

A good dog is a good friend, missed always after they are gone. We had a German Shepherd/Pit Bull mix, the smallest of the pups. My son raised the puppy as I raised him…getting up at three in the morning when the puppy cried. That dog was so smart, he would get out of the yard to chase cats or other dogs, and then come and ring the doorbell to let us know when he was home again. Once, the bell didn’t work, so he knocked on the door with his paw.
We all cried when he died. We won’t forget him, ever.
Frank Anderson says
We have a chow now that adopted us, just crashed into the yard, 15 years ago. She is living well beyond the “normal” lifespan. She is really helpful and a good companion. It was fun to watch SugerDog and Roscoe groom each other. The vet said Roscoe had the cleanest ears he had ever seen on a Bassett Hound.

Erdogan is willing and haranguing Muslims to start a civil war in Europe. It is evident. He uses victimhood and stands as a spokesman for Muslims. While on the one hand he calls for dialogue between the Chinese government and Chinese Muslims, on the other hand he is clearly calling for the rebellion of Muslims in Europe. Is there still any doubt that Muslims have a serious fit problem in Western societies? they suffer a brutal dichotomy between their nationality and their religion. They simply do not know how to distinguish politics from religion, Islam is their nationalism. The leaders of Muslim countries know it perfectly since they use religion as a tool of social control and in Europe as an authentic Trojan horse. Islam is in crisis all over the world but in its crisis it can destroy Europe and cause many civil wars. Islam is going to destroy European society.
Frank Anderson says

robyt says
For one time I have to say that erdogan is right, Macron needs mental treatment, even if Erdogan himself does not seem to be too straight on this too. Macron has problems with islam and muslims in general, but not only with them. I think he really believes to be something like Napoleon or Caesar in his mind. Macron lastly is calling muslims with a different word: “separatists”. At least he seems to have figured out what islam in france is about, but he still is unable to call them by their name. He is a liberal progressists and as an atheist all religions are just the same. He does not understand the basics on this matter, like most of the corrupt and multicultural elite in europe. So he cannot accomplish any real improvements on this and since he became president islam got more aggressive in france.
Aussie Infidel says
robyt, Your claim that atheists think “all religions are just the same”, is quite wrong.
No doubt there are a few atheists – the ignorant ones – who think that way; but I also know a few Christians who also regard Islam as benign – just another Abrahamic faith – and enthusiastically engage with Muslims in interfaith dialogue. Some of my other Christian and Jewish friends simply don’t want to know, and hope the problem will go away. However, in most countries now there are organisations which are strongly opposed to Islam, whose members come from all faiths as well as many atheists; and we understand very well the totalitarian nature of this aggressive creed, and how it insidiously undermines free societies. The problem is not just with atheists, but getting people from all backgrounds to take the issue seriously and do something about it. Let’s hope that Macron in France has finally awakened to the truth from his former ‘woke’ state and has the guts to act decisively.
gravenimage says
True, Aussie Infidel. There are a lot of knowledgeable Atheist and Agnostic Anti-Jihadists here.
Jewcat says
Hello Aussie Infidel. Another Aussie here. My sense of Australians is that (apart from the Woke brigade, mostly limited to the ‘educated elites’) they are getting more and more wary of Islam. We seem to have pretty good Intelligence services who block a lot of the attempts to murder us and there hasn’t been a jihadi attack for some time now. ASIO was advertising for Arabic speaking operatives some time ago and they probably have a lot of eyes and ears in the Islamic community.
Frank Anderson says
Jewcat, as a person who has great respect for many religions, including Judaism, I suggest that reading any one of 3 books will motivate reading several more: 1) Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam, by our host Robert Spencer, 2) The Unfinished Battle by Mark Gabriel, and 3) The Abridged Koran edited and commented by Bill Warner. All are available on Amazon, and I believe all are available instantly on Kindle, with a free reader program for PC’s.
Aussie Infidel says
Hi Jewcat, Good to see another Aussie on the site. Many of the people here are very knowledgeable about Islam and have been here for many years. Robert Spencer is a prolific author and understands more about Islam than most people I’ve met. Let’s hope that ASIO manages to recruit people who are not just Arabic speakers, but also understand the insidious ideology they are dealing with. Unfortunately, many highly educated people have also been indoctrinated with Leftist ideology by Marxist professors at university, and often support the so-called Red-Green axis – or “useful idiots” as Lenin would have called them.
I note that Frank Anderson has suggested some books to read. I would also add: Islamic Jihad, by M A Khan; Cruel and Usual Punishment, by Nonie Darwish; The Third Choice, by Mark Durie; Islam, Arrogance and Delusion by John Perkins; and The Story of Mohammed, by Harry Richardson (the last three are all Aussies).
If you don’t have a Quran of your own, there are some available on line, eg:
https://quran.com/. The Hadiths are also available at: https://sunnah.com/.
Another must visit website is: https://www.thereligionofpeace.com/, which has kept count of all the jihad atrocities since ‘9/11’.
Happy blogging.
Frank Anderson says
A.I. thank you for the additional suggestions. There are many good books to read. The problem is getting to start. I have read about 30 at this time. And there is more to learn.

I do hope so Aussie but I won’t be holding my breath. I don’t know much about French politics, so I don’t know how much support Macron has behind him. He will need a lot of support to start making a positive stand against Islam in France. And if he does, it sounds like that Erdogan nasty could start a war to stop him.
Aussie Infidel says
Eleanor, I won’t be holding my breath either. I don’t know how much support Macron has now, but initially he was virtually in a ‘one horse race’ – a party of his own. Apparently he got enough support from other factions to stop Marine Le Pen from gaining office. And yes, you are right about Erdogan – he’s the reincarnation of Hitler. Years ago, Erdogan remarked, “The mosques are our barracks, the domes our helmets, the minarets our bayonets and the faithful our soldiers”; which is not the sort of rhetoric one would expect from a peaceful leader.

I miss them and am sad for what I believe to be their future.
