EU’s top court says Hungary’s attempt to keep Soros-founded university out of the country is unlawful

Oct 9, 2020 12:00 pm By Christine Douglass-Williams 21 Comments

The European Union/Soros war on Hungary is all about Viktor Orban’s opposition to mass Muslim migration into Europe. The EU’s globalist encroachment on the sovereignty of nations knows no boundaries. Hungary, as well as the other nations comprising the Visegrad group (Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic) and Austria have stood against the EU to protect their nations’ sovereignty and freedom. For doing so, they are being subjected to increasing pressure. Most recently, even Twitter temporarily suspended the Hungarian government’s account “without warning or explanation.”

“Hungary’s university reform is unlawful, EU top court says,” Reuters, October 6, 2020:

BRUSSELS (Reuters) – The European Union’s top court said on Tuesday that Hungary’s reform of higher education rules, which forced a university founded by George Soros to move most of its activities out of the country, was in breach of EU law.

The ruling follows a complaint from the European Commission and is one of many issues in which the EU has clashed with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s hardline stance on migration and minorities, as well as moves to increase state control of the courts, media and NGOs.

Under the reform, passed in 2017, foreign-registered universities can no longer operate in Hungary unless they also provide courses in their home countries, a provision that the European Court of Justice said on Tuesday was against EU law.

“The conditions introduced by Hungary to enable foreign higher education institutions to carry out their activities in its territory are incompatible with EU law,” the court said.

Central European University transferred the bulk of its courses out of Hungary after a long legal battle between Hungarian-born Soros, who promotes liberal causes through his charities, and the government of Orban.

The EU court also said the requirement introduced by the reform that non-EU universities could operate in Hungary only if their home country had a bilateral treaty with Hungary was in breach of the EU’s Charter of Fundamental Rights which protects academic freedom and the freedom to conduct a business….

How do I say this politely. EU kiss my a$$. You are the reason the American Colonist fought a revolution against the British Crown. Now get used to it. Let Freedom Ring. Hungary is only reminding all of us WHY the American Revolution happened. Godspeed, God Bless to Hungary and God Damn the EU.

Is Hungary allowed to give the court a big raspberry and tell them to MYOB?
soros should have been in prison long, long ago for all of his crimes.

They are giving the EU court the message that the Hungarians are sovereign.

Soros is a fanatical globalist who apparently hates the national pride of Hungarians. They overwhelmingly voted their disagreement with globalism. The want to remain distinctly Hungarian.

Soros should be in a Hungarian prison for his NATZI collaboration during WWII.

agreed. Mehrkill is racing to equalize the Austrian’s record. After the riots have died down, Trump will clean house and that means also to go after Soros.I am so looking forward to that. And the Dims will split into Socialists and Democrats.

An error in the feature article:

“Visegrad group (Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic) and Austria”

    Not Austria but Hungary.

    ==========

Here is a 2017 video from French 24 that is still pertinent:

“Orban cracks down on Soros-backed university and NGOs”

French 24 makes it sound like Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is doing the *wrong* thing where in reality he is 100% correct.

Note in the video that the Central European University teaches EU “values” not *Hungarian* values.

James–with all respect–Christine Douglass-Williams does not say that Austria is part of the Visigrad Group and Hungary is not. She wrote:

“Hungary, as well as the other nations comprising the Visegrad group (Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic) and Austria have stood against the EU to protect their nations’ sovereignty and freedom…”

She was noting that Hungary is indeed part of the Visigrad Group, and that Austria–which is not–acted in concert with them on this issue. The phrasing is a bit convoluted, though, so I can understand why you read it the way you did.

The eu are also expanding the eu state education system, ie brainwashing ALL the children in euspeak, thought, actions. They even think UK should continue funding this ponzi scheme even though we are told we have left, but we have not.

Just ignore the EU court ruling – France does when it suits itself. In any event I doubt that the ruling stands up to close examination of EU law – university provision/regulation is a purely domestic matter, not dealt with by the EU under the terms of the treaty.
