Bruno Le Maire stated:
“There is terrorism, yes — the crime that must be judged and condemned….And there is the ideology that is at the root of terrorism and which is more insidious — political Islam, which has had its accomplices for years in France.'”
And that is precisely the same ideology that declares women to be inferior; yet those who seek to advance the Sharia present female coverings or segregation in the West as merely a matter of modesty.
(Quran 24:31) And tell the believing women to reduce of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands’ fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons, their sisters’ sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.
(Quran 33:59) O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused.
Under such provisions, women must swim separately from men. But in Western culture, as opposed to Sharia, women are equal to men, and it would be discriminatory to bar men from swimming at certain hours because women won’t be fully covered. In Western culture, there is no gender segregation based on shame and/or inferiority; nor should there be. Le Maire is right.
“French minister accuses mayors of giving in to ‘political Islam’ over swimming pools,” by Elisa Braun, Politico, October 23, 2020:
PARIS — France’s finance minister on Friday accused some mayors of giving in to “political Islam” because they allow women-only hours at local swimming pools, underscoring a harsher tone in the aftermath of a schoolteacher’s beheading.
“There is terrorism, yes — the crime that must be judged and condemned,” Bruno Le Maire told Europe 1 radio. “And there is the ideology that is at the root of terrorism and which is more insidious — political Islam, which has had its accomplices for years in France.”
Referring to differentiated hours at municipal pools, which are accused of being discriminatory, he called such moves “cowardice, small renunciations and unreasonable accommodations” which “constantly fuel political Islam.”
The comments fit in with members of President Emmanuel Macron’s government who have been speaking out more harshly against radical Islam and so-called “separatism” by religious groups in the wake of the attack — including Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin’s complaint earlier this week about religious food aisles in supermarkets.
In a separate interview granted to conservative newspaper Le Figaro, Le Maire called on business leaders to help grapple with religious separatism.
“The project of political Islam is simple: to destroy the French nation, destroy its values, sully our national memory and undermine our history,” Le Maire said. “For years, political Islam has engaged in a continuous harassment of our nation.”
He also urged “business leaders to realize that they, too, can contribute to public peace and to the fact that separatism can be fought against.”
It’s not just conservative ministers in Macron’s cabinet who are speaking out. Education Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer, who comes from the left, has also criticized so-called “leftist Islamism” — an expression often used in far-right circles to accuse progressive advocates of bowing to radical islam.
In early October, Macron gave a long-awaited speech on what he described as the ways radical Islamism infiltrates French society.
But the recent murder of Samuel Paty, a history teacher beheaded for showing caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad, forced him to adopt an harder stance….

Erdogan is suing a nation over a political cartoon? What a pathetic tool.

In an islamic country he would have the right to sue and maybe successfully , he is forgetting it’s not an islamic country we are talking about here . Despite the french ambassadors comment in Sweden .

It needs to be more often noted that this refers to slaves and eunuchs.

Spot on.

I knew immediately what it meant….But I suppose the majority of people (including “feminists”) who march, protest and demonstrate for Islam need to learn this. Far too many people are standing up for things they don’t even understand! They should be questioning why the same type of women who are at the pool are protesting in Islamic countries against having to wear the garb, and dying for it! They only want to wear it in the WESTERN WORLD! Why?

“Political Islam ….. radical Islam ……leftist Islamism ….radical Islamism”: all these terms that obscure the reality are staving off its recognition.
They do, it is true,.enable the speaker to be critical without saying the word “Islam”, so that is one use. However, they prevent the audience from understanding that it is Islam itself, ordinary basic Islam, that has all these attributes that are being criticised. They nourish the dishonest propaganda that there is a Nice Peaceful Islam which is being warped, twisted, hi-jacked, misunderstood, and so on.
No. There is no Peaceful Islam.

I very much take your point, Michael–but Bruno Le Maire is still speaking far more plainly than most.

Actually, the term used by many in the West in current times is “political Islam” That term is, in reality redundant. This is because Islam is in essence, a religious /political Sharia law based system. As so well explained in brief way, by the Muslim tyrant who and ruled Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini when he stated that “All Islam is politics.” [1]

As a side note, I know of one public pool here in Australia who closed off the pool to men on a couple of days one summer so the Catholic nuns from the local convent could take a dip without any men looking on.
But these were NUNS and it was 40c+ for 5 consecutive days.
If the Mudslimes want privacy for their brood mares then they should pay for their own pool.

Bruno Le Maire is right. He actually recognizes the threat of stealth Jihad. Kudos to him.

The Nazis stormed into France and took over in a short while, with little or no resistance from the French, and now islam is doing the exact same thing, and have been doing so for years, but the French were not listening to sound words from Marine Le Pen but rather they denigrated her even to the point of suggesting she should be put in a Mental Hospital… It is certainly true that the truth hurts.
Truth sounds like hate to those who hate the truth.
Perhaps the only good thing to come out of this awful beheading of a School Teacher is that many French people will start paying attention to what Marine Le Pen is saying, and has been saying for decades.
Or the French will soon forget about this just as they did after the attacks in Nice, Paris, or the murder of a Catholic Priest INSIDE his Church while giving Mass, or the destruction and vandalism of Churches all over France on a weekly, if not daily, basis.
Phil Copson says
Note that Elisa Braun of Politico doesn’t miss the opportunity to smear the French Education Minister by claiming that noting the existence of the alliance between islamists and the Left is a “far-right” talking point.
Conversely, the Left-wing enablers of islamism are referred to approvingly as being “Progressive”.
(What they are progressing towards though, she leaves blank….)

You’re 100% correct, Phil.

Of course, ‘filthy unbelievers’ remain fair game–to Muslim men.
That is a 1400 year old ‘revelation’; from a time when women were being ‘abused’ on their way to public latrines
It is irrelevant here, as most Muslim women live in buildings equipped with indoor plumbing.
And we have no obligation to respect or comply with such ‘Islam is superior’ nonsense.
Trish says
Yet our governments force us to comply and to show them respect! Whilst making no attempt to make the Muslims show any respect for us at all!

Along with the liberal media.

Much more has to be done to defeat the present threat of Islam. To go against “Political Islam” isn’t enough. Islam has to be brought to its knee if not totally extinguished. The latter isn’t practical obtainable. But we all have to acknowledge that this is a World War between the Islamic World, Dar al-Islam, and the REST of the World, Dar al-Harb. Naive pundits saying otherwise, demanding the (non-existent) Moderate Muslims join with us to destroy the Radical Muslims, are dangerous, ignorant fools trying to lead the rest of us off the cliff.—Therefore, the French ppl better call Marine!
