Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

France: Muslim org with links to Muslim Brotherhood to certify training of imams

Oct 29, 2020 3:00 pm By Robert Spencer 25 Comments

Not an auspicious beginning to Macron’s resistance to the advancing jihad and Sharia oppression.

“France’s Flawed Stand against Islamist Radicalization,” by Martha Lee, National Review, October 27, 2020:

…To American ears, proposed aggressive regulation of religious institutions may sound extraordinary. Yet while more militant anti-Islamists might consider Macron’s measures a step in the right direction, his “ambition to form and promote . . . a generation of imams and intellectuals” defending “an Islam that is fully compatible with the values of the Republic” is enormously flawed. For the government will be deputizing a great deal of responsibility for the project to an organizations with its own Islamist links. Much of the effort will be managed by the Conseil français du culte musulman (CFCM), an organization established by France’s Interior Ministry in 2003 to represent French Muslims. The CFCM, as the state’s intermediary, will be responsible for certifying imam-training programs and the imams themselves, as well as for writing a charter to which imams must pledge adherence or risk losing certification. All this, the government has explained, will be financed by taxing French Muslims undertaking Hajj (the pilgrimage to Mecca).

Which Islam, then, will the CFCM promote? It is a notoriously divided institution, comprising members from different federations, some of which are associated with foreign regimes, including Morocco, Algeria, Turkey, and Comoros. It also includes Musulmans de France (formerly known as the UOIF), a French organization founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood, and the Turkish Islamist movement Millî Görüş, which is closely connected to the Ankara regime.

The CFCM has been widely criticized in the past for its unrepresentative nature, and for its acrimonious internal disputes. Worst of all, Islamists exert the greatest control over the organization. While some CFCM representatives are elected, the election system itself rewards large mosques — which are often Islamist-run or -funded — with the greatest number of delegates. For the government to rely on CFCM for this project excludes the majority of French Muslims, as well as the voices of reformists and non-Islamist theologians, many of whom have previously complained that the hardline views of UOIF have completely taken over the institution.

It is certainly difficult to imagine that the CFCM will focus on developing an “enlightened Islam.” Just last year, the CFCM was criticized for declaring the hijab to be a religious obligation. This marked a clear turn toward hardline Islam, as it had previously recognized the existing debate around the question.

The CFCM is currently led by prominent French Muslim leader Mohammad Moussaoui, who is close to the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Moroccan regime, as well as activist Abdallah Zekri. Zekri and Moussaoui are also both part of the Fondation pour l’islam de France, an organization that will receive 10 million euros ($12 million) in government funds for its involvement in the government’s plans.

Both Zekri and Moussaoui have a history of justifying or downplaying the threat of Islamism. Earlier this year, Zekri was at the center of a media scandal after he tried to excuse death threats sent to a teenager who had denounced Islam.

As for Moussaoui, when interviewed by French senator Jacqueline Eustache as part of a Senate investigation into Islamist radicalization, he repeated the old canard that Islamists have absolutely nothing to do with Islam and have appropriated both the term and the religion itself. His reasoning was elucidated when he then attempted to avoid questions on his views of the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafi influence in certain French neighborhoods. When Senator Eustache insisted, he declared that groups should not be entirely rejected on the basis of ideology and encouraged combatting ideas, not people.

And so we wonder: Which hardline ideologues will the CFCM refuse to reject as partners in the government’s counter-radicalization efforts?…

The leader of the French nt’l conservative party Rassemblement National has newly stated how France ought to handle the Islamist threat: Total war on Islamism which can be effectuated without moving a single comma in the existing juridical legislation.–Attaching euphemistic terms like “Radical” or “Extremist” to Islam is an exercise of Western arrogance. These terms serve only to mislead us into a false sense of security by thinking, “If we can just get rid of the bad apples, the World can then live in peace with this great and noble religion.”—This is exactly the Macron stance and it brings us nowhere.

It seems Moussaoui doesn’t really appreciate Macron’s decision. Macron stands by his word and said he will not compromise freedom of expression. That means Macron will not give up the republican pact and therefore the Mohamed cartoons.

In that case, I hope Macron steps in to change this.

But I don’t think you can really defang Islam–certainly not via Islam itself–so we are apt to see more of this sort of thing.

The founding Islamic texts have been openly cited in the context of the jihadism. The government says we must combat an ideology not a religion. As far I am concerned religions are ideologies which must be investigated to understand how the extremism works.
They don’t no longer believe the lone wolf exist. Erdogan is accused of blowing on the embers of the Islamic extremism and we cannot longer ignore tensions ran high between France and Turkey.

This is a good policy. Macron appears moderate and reasonable, yet to Muslims, it is an act of war. They will respond accordingly, thus giving Macron or the French, the reason they need to ramp up pressure. Step by Step, ratchet it up, while appearing conciliatory. .

DP111, how is bringing in the Muslim Brotherhood to reform Imams a good policy? Nothing will change.

I’m sorry that you believe that because when dealing with extremists a policy of moderation is merely ineffective rhetoric!
We all know that or should at least.
Macron is playing both sides and is as foolish as ever.

So do idiotic, deceitful terms like “Islamist Radicalization”.

Does the article’s author, Martha Lee, even know what Islamism means?

    Islamist
    adj
(Islam) supporting or advocating Islamic fundamentalism
    n
(Islam) a supporter or advocate of Islamic fundamentalism

What is the French translation of “stupid-ass dhimmis”? Hey French, you should be investigating the bejeesus out of this entity, instead you’re sharing info with them and doing their bidding. I echo the Comment above about male genitals. Grow some before they kill you too.

“Stupid-ass dhimmis” Translation: Dhimmi culcul la praline means foolish dumb dhimmi. Macron is not the king, he is not above the law but he will not compromise our republican pact whatever happens, even thought it may take time.

    Sadly not…

Macron has talked about a “French Islam” before–but this looks a lot like the old Islam. No real surprise.

Macron’s ambition of “an Islam that is fully compatible with the values of the Republic” is a non-starter. It is dead in the water. There is no such thing and there cannot be. The idea is flawed: Islam’s rules forbid it.

Islam is viscerally and rigidly opposed to equality before the law, to freedom of conscience, to freedom of speech, to government by the consent of the governed, and to a host of other features of the Republic. It authorises slavery, sex-slave-taking by force, wife-beating, FGM, amputations, forced marriage, child marriages, multiple wives, “honor”-killing, the murder of same-sex couples, bestiality, and animal cruelty.

Of necessity abolishing any of these features would involve denying verses in the Koran. Denying any verse in the Koran is a death penalty offence.

Macron and his advisors need to climb higher up the Learning Curve.

    What are they thinking?
But then, ‘what WERE they thinking?’ in allowing almost 10 million of these French hating Muslim people into the country from rebellious failed colonies.
Is this some kind of French method of diplomacy, or rather a means to shrug and say, ‘Well, we gave devotees to Islam an opportunity to clean up their act, but instead they threw it back in our faces with insult, so now we’ll have to kill them all — so you see, it’s not our fault!’
This isn’t likely either — in fact, those who suspect Macron is a dickies traitor to the West may be spot on.

muslims around the World laugh in the faces of French and other Western people with their notion of tolerance as islam is more about revenge than tolerance as they see tolerance as a weakness while the West sees it as our strength.
There can never be a compromise between islamic teachings and Western values as they are in direct opposition to each other which brings up the question, why does The Left stand up and defend a Fascist Religious Cult like islam that despises everything The Left holds near and dear.
There can be no stranger alliance in History than islam and The Political Western Left.

Here I read that these slaughtering guerrilla fighters of Allah are a mere bureaucratic bookkeeping problem:
“All of them are not on our French S-list, our little ledger for slaughterhouse extremists!”
    https://www.thenationalnews.com/world/europe/macron-says-france-is-under-attack-after-terrorist-kills-three-at-church-in-nice-1.1101672

Government lawmakers are forced to make another fearful law, I imagine:
“Anybody slaughtering French, be it through Allah’s guerrilla war inside France, or through a direct attack with large armies from outside France, will be penalized with a fine of 100,- Euro’s, if they did not registrar themselves beforehand on our “S” ledger!!”

Sure the bloodshed will end, with such fearful law.
