The allegations against the renowned Islamic “reformer” Tariq Ramadan are particularly revolting; if they are true, he is a monstrous sadist. One of his accusers said he subjected her to “blows to the face and body, forced sodomy, rape with an object and various humiliations, including being dragged by the hair to the bathtub and urinated on.”
His sadism, however, appears to be, if the allegations are true, closely intertwined with his celebrated Islamic piety: another one of his accusers said he told her he was raping her because she didn’t wear a hijab.
It wouldn’t be at all surprising, given his connections to all varieties of powerful people, if Ramadan were cleared of all the charges. If this happens, it would be in keeping with the duplicity that has characterized his entire career. French journalist Caroline Fourest’s illuminating book Brother Tariq: The Doublespeak of Tariq Ramadan concludes that this much-lionized putative “Muslim Martin Luther” is actually anything but a reformer: in reality, Ramadan is “remaining scrupulously faithful to the strategy mapped out by his grandfather, a strategy of advance stage by stage” toward the imposition of Islamic law in the West. His grandfather was Hassan al-Banna, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Ramadan, Fourest explains, in his public lectures and writings invests words such as “law” and “democracy” with subtle and carefully crafted new definitions, permitting him to engage in “an apparently inoffensive discourse while remaining faithful to an eminently Islamist message and without having to lie overtly — at least not in his eyes.” Ramadan, she said, “may have an influence on young Islamists and constitute a factor of incitement that could lead them to join the partisans of violence.”
Fourest was also the first to reveal, back in 2017, long before these new charges were levied, that Ramadan had at least four other victims besides the first woman who came forward, Henda Ayari. “A request for religious advice turned into a compulsive sexual relationship, sometimes consented to, often violent and very humiliating, before ending in threats.”
“New rape charge against Islamic scholar Ramadan,” AFP, October 23, 2020 (thanks to Gisele):
Islamic scholar Tariq Ramadan has been hit by another charge of raping a woman, his lawyers in France said on Thursday, after four other similar accusations.
The 58-year-old Ramadan, a Swiss national, has already been charged in France with raping four other women, which he denies.
A father of four whose grandfather founded Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, Ramadan was a professor of contemporary Islamic studies at Oxford University until he was forced to take leave when rape allegations surfaced at the height of the “Me Too” movement in 2017.
The latest charge relates to the alleged rape in 2013 and 2014 of Mounia Rabbouj, a former escort girl who was one of the first to accuse him of sexual assault.
Her testimony had forced Ramadan to admit to extramarital relations for the first time, but he stressed they were “consensual”.
Paris prosecutors had asked him for to be charged in this case in 2018 but judges had suspended their decision until now.
“There is no new element” in the probe, Ramadan’s lawyers Nabila Asmane, Ouadie El Hamamouchi and Philippe Ohayon said on Thursday in a joint statement given to AFP after Ramadan was questioned and charged by the judges.
“It’s not Tariq Ramadan’s word against that of this woman, it is this woman against her own serious and consistent lies,” they said.
Rabbouj’s lawyer Eric Morain, however, said “the probe has shown how the word of my client was as reliable as it was constant.”
Being charged in France does not necessarily mean a suspect will end up on trial, as a case can still be dropped for lack of evidence. (AFP)

Oxford University refused to suspend him, on the grounds students would be offended – guess of which noble dispensation – until the bitter truth became irresistible! Most British universities nurture militant Islamists with the approval of the British Parliament and 120 Muslim candidates, belonging to all political parties and not just the three which are now Islamist fronts, were nominated to stand for the December 2019 parliamentary elections.

Oxford University leaders who praised that villain should hang their heads in shame.
Even major academics often know nothing about POLITICAL Islam. They keep their ideological blinkers tightly in place even when Muslims behave badly according to Western standards.
Most of those academics wouldn’t know that Koran 4. 23-24 endorse the rape of captive women.
Tariq Ramadan was practicing that part of the Koran.
Buraq says
Rape means never having to say you’re sorry! (old Islamic saying!) Clown!
mortimer says
Buraq, let’s not call it ‘rape’, because the Koran never uses that ugly word. Jihadists have an Allah-given right to abuse captive women.

As well as “immodest women”, which is the group most of the victims seem to have fallen into. Of course, in Islam any woman who dares to go out without an owner is so deemed.

How many decades will it be before any of these cases get to trial?

As a loyal muslim he is only following his master . You cant blame him !
Stanton Lore says
So, when are these cases going to be prosecuted? It’s not as if he’s interred at GITMO and waiting a decade for trial. Or, is this how France adjudicates all criminal charges?
Keith O says
This piece of filth should be castrated.
Rape is a vile crime and to use a false religion as justification simply makes it worse.
I hope they throw his arse in jail for a long long time, in general population, so he can find out what rape is all about!
