Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Turkey: Pro-Erdogan journalist hails Azerbaijan ‘purging its cities, villages, mountains and lands’ of Armenians

Oct 10, 2020 12:00 pm By Robert Spencer 21 Comments

Turkey did the same thing in the early twentieth century, “purging its lands” of Armenians by means of genocide. Note that the rhetoric of “occupation” that Karagül uses here is the same as that employed by jihadis in the “Palestinian” territories, as well as in Jammu and Kashmir and elsewhere. Jihadis routinely frame their struggles as attempts to regain land that is rightfully theirs. The only problem is that the land you’re on is rightfully theirs as well.

“Was a Turkey-Russia-Iran war planned through Armenia?,” by İbrahim Karagül, Yeni Safak, October 6, 2020:

Azerbaijan is only conducting operations in its own territory. This operation is strictly within its legitimate boundaries. Karabakh, as well as the other Azerbaijani territories under occupation are, according to international law, Azerbaijan’s field of sovereignty. But they are under occupation nevertheless.

Now, Baku is conducting a determined operation to end this occupation. For the first time in three decades, it is shifting from defense mode to offense. It is carrying out an extremely successful operation.

It is purging its cities, villages, mountains, plateaus, waters, and lands.

This is not war but a fight against terrorism; it is an internal security operation.

Are the any problems so far? Is there a problem for Russia? Any problems for Iran, France, the EU or the U.S.?

No, there are no problems and there cannot be any.

The OSCE Minsk Group secured the occupation for 30 years. But it’s over now

Does Azerbaijan have the right to do this? Does it have the authority and responsibility to protect, save, and preserve its own lands?

Of course it does. This is a country’s most fundamental and unquestionable right.

Up to this point, there is not a single criticism or reaction the world can direct at Azerbaijan. Anyone who opposes this is an invader. It means they are attacking Azerbaijan!…

Turkey had changed – and is continuing to change – the game in Iraq, Syria, and the East Mediterranean. Now, that dynamic mind would change the game in the South Caucasus. That is exactly what happened. Azerbaijan responded to Armenia’s latest attacks with an unexpected, strong operation….

    Robert Kardashian, father of the famous Kardashians was Armenian. Out of all the kids, not one married or dated an Armenian. I always thought that was a shame and that they as such famous people could do more for the Armenian people, especially as Christians that they are. They did go on a vacation and visit there a few years ago. I wonder if they would be brave enough to stand for the country now with a potential genocide, uh purge, facing the people again?

      J Morgan, the Kardashians are generally pretty vapid, but they–and Cher, who also has some Armenian heritage, actually *have been* speaking out:

      “Why these Armenian American celebs are speaking out about a chronic conflict”

        gravenimage, yes they are all vapid, including Cher who is a major Trump hater, but I am glad they and others are speaking up for the Armenian people because millions of people do listen to them. Thanks for the link to that current article. Unfortunately, I would have to subscribe to the LA Times to read the whole thing.

    The so called Religion of Peace. Kill, Steal, Destroy. Jesus sent forth His Disciples out into the World teaching the Word of His,Our Father of Peace, Love, Loving of other, He did not tell them to Concur the World.Enslave the non believers or Kill them if they do not convert to islam so How is this a Religion Of Peace. I truly wan’t no part of this Religion. They take away the very Freedom that Our Father in Heaven has given you and I. To this Day I will Pray to my Lord Jesus Christ for my enemy’s for they are His enemy’s too. If Our Father so wish’s to call on his warriors on Earth. İbrahim Karagül;s line of reasoning might backfire:
    1) Assad (plus Russia) have all he right’s to purge the Turks and those sunni jihadists from Syria;
    2) Burma had the right to purge the terrorist muslims from Arakan;
    3) China has the right to do it in Xinjiang: China does not have to go to the trouble to educate these terrorist muslims that want to seperate from China, while occupying Chinese lands;
    4) Cyprus the same, with the occupying Turks there;
    5) The Philippine nation with the mulsim terrorists in their southern parts, that want a Muslim nation;
    6: The Thai nation in their southern parts with the muslim terrorists that want a separate Muslim nation;
    7: The EU has the right to invade Erdogan Turkey, because of Erdogan Turkey’s numerous threats against Europe (nations have the right too neutralize threats, like Turkey does outside it’s borders with the Yezidi’s, the christians, the moderate non muslim brotherhood muslims like the one’s from the PKK);
    Just to mention a few examples:reasoning like İbrahim Karagül….

    This reminds me a bit 1853 when the Crimea War began and I wonder if the stupid Europeans, especially the Brits and French will choose the Ottomans viz the Russians this time around? It is ironic how history seems to repeat itself as Hegel pointed out in his theories on the subject. While Armenia is not the Crimea the stage is very similar where the Russians are once again at the edge of war with the Ottomans. The same question may arise concerning Article 5 of NATO if the Turks claim that Russia attacked them if there are battles between the two. My bet is that NATO will tell Erdogan to go and pound sand.

    Turkey is the biggest oppressor and invader what a hypocrite the world should recognise Artkash as Armenian they are the majority and have lived there since the Bronze Age but Azerbaijan and Turkey want to Genocide the Armenians again finish what they started in 1915 I feel Putin could be behind this as well as Erdogan I think Putin wants to teach the Armenians PM a lesson for becoming to Anti Russian and leaning towards America just like he punished Greeks by giving Turks Agia Sophia in retaliation for getting to close to US and recognising the Ukrainian Church that broke off I feel Greeks and Armenians are caught in the middle of US and Russia if you go against one the other one will punish you Greece and Armenia I think Greece and Armenia should try and get Nuclear weapons to protect themselfs from Turkey and other enemies problem is they have to realise nobody will save them from Turkey if they don’t do what they are told by the West or Russia they need to wake up and do what Isreal did get Nuclear weapon somehow if they can

      Putin said very clearly that Russia has an agreement with Armenia, to secure the country Armenia, like Armenia does with Russia. Nagorno-Karabach? You win some you loose some.

      It is about 175.000 Christians, that fortunately can go to Armenia. .Looking only at Iraq, they lost some 1.5 to 1.8 million Christians since the start of this century.

      But about Armenia? The EU says they can do nothing?! Reading the below message, the EU unelected very highly paid beaureaucrats, have many “headaches”, and blame Armenia…

        Russia proves that one can eventually make the correct decision amid the thousands of bad ones. I would rather have Russian soldiers on the ground in Armenia than American or even NATO personnel.

    A clear admission of genocidal intent. Turkey is now one of the most bigoted countries on earth.

    The irony of Turkey committing genocide is that there is no Turkish race to speak of: they are all descended from slaves imported to the Ottoman Empire and raped by Muslim savages.

      Sure some may descend from mostly female slaves (matrilineally speaking) but from what I’ve read my guess would be that for the most part they are descended from Christian traitors who willingly converted to Islam in order to gain social and economic advantage under the supremacist ottoman system which was entirely based on sucking the blood of the dhimmi. Although historically there had been many “forced” conversions as well (I mean “convert or die” style)

    Karagül isn’t some random “journalist”(he’s got 400 thousand followers on twitter btw) and Yeni Safak isn’t some random paper. They both speak for Erdogan. Though I guess at this point calling anyone who’s not in jail “pro-Erdogan” is kind of unecessary.
