Expect the usual cries of “Islamophobia” and “collective punishment.” The same people who have been telling us for years that Islam has no essential political component and is perfectly compatible with Western secular government will turn on a dime and insist that to restrict political Islam is to restrict Islam itself, and is thus “racist” and absolutely unacceptable. If Austria stands firm, this could be momentous, but the pressure brought against it will be severe.
“Austria government to ban ‘political Islam’, shut down mosques,” WION, November 12, 2020:
Austria will order the closure of mosques that it deems a threat to national security.
In a crackdown on politically-motivated Islamic activity, the Austrian government has launched an initiative to identify and register social and educational institutions that are the targets of Islamist-controlled organisations for political purposes.
Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz’s cabinet agreed to the proposals that include the ability to keep individuals convicted of terror offences behind bars for life, electronic surveillance of people convicted of terror-related offences upon release and criminalizing religiously motivated political extremism.
‘We will create a criminal offence called ‘political Islam’ in order to be able to take action against those who are not terrorists themselves, but who create the breeding ground for them,’ Kurz tweeted after the Cabinet meeting.
Austria will order the closure of mosques that it deems a threat to national security. Austrian police on Monday raided more than 60 addresses allegedly linked to radical Islamists, with orders for 30 suspects to be questioned, prosecutors said….

Some rare common sense in a world gone mad and countries like Englandistan that have fully submitted to islamism. Three justice systems operate in Englandistan…one for the rich, one for the poor, and another for muslims.

It doesn’t matter how many mosques as long as Muslims are unsure of the historical foundations of Islam. If Muslim suspect that the Koran is of human origin, it’s over for Islam.
Christopher Watson says
Close all mosques and enrol all moslems in a course of Fundamental Islamic Studies, taught by the Robert Spenser School of Islamic Nonsense. Any moslem who does not wish to follow the course will be deported within 24-hours. Any moslem who has broken the law will also be deported.

I expect a storm of jihad activity to follow. If Austria can hold tight thru this storm will mean the difference between life and death of their country.
If the violence does not work, what other ”arrow in the quiver” does islam have?
Well I guess they have weak parasitic politicians looking for a vote. Nothing else

The offence may have a wider reach than anticipated: Islam is political.

“Islam is politics or it is nothing”, said Ayatollah Khomeini.

‘Government to ban political Islam, shut down jihadi mosques’……..but that should mean banning islam completely and closing ALL mosques, since islam is just a political system anyway. If the Austrians ever think they’ve succeeded in their aim as stated, they would probably just end up driving the politics underground – assuming that the muslims don’t simply raise two fingers and throw a couple of bombs at them (as usual).

All this is “nice” – the Mosque building will be closed, but the “political Islam” people will apparently still reside in Austria.
How does one distinguish a “political Muslim” from a Muslim ?
How does this prevent “political Muslims” from meeting in other places ?
Demolishing a couple rat’s nests in a city neither gets rid of the rats, nor changes the nature of the rats.
Stop Muslim immigration. Deport those who can legally be deported.
I know that all Muslims are not evil people, but the creed they profess is evil.
To say that is a problem is an understatement.
Walter Sieruk says
Actually, the term used by many in the West in current times is “political Islam” That term is, in reality redundant. This is because Islam is in essence, a religious /political Sharia law based system. As so well explained in brief way, by the Muslim tyrant who and ruled Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini when he stated that “All Islam is politics.” [1]
The construction of the many mosques in both in Austria and the other nations of Europe not only means that more people in America and Europe are now being proselytized to Islam. A mosques may also be places of violent jihad scheming.
This may be disturbing enough. In addition, this mass construction of mosques on in Austria and the other European countries have still a further meaning which has been explained by a former Muslim who is now a Christian, Dr. Daniel Shayesteh, in his book ISLAM THE HOUSE I LEFT BEHIND for in page 99 it informs the reader that “The mosque is vital for establishing Muslims as sovereign over non-Muslims in a non-Islamic society or country. Building a mosque in a non-Islamic society or country symbolizes Islam’s claim over that society or country, even with a non-Muslim majority.”
[1] THE ISLAM IN ISLAMIC TERRORISM by Ibn Warraq , page 332.
Alastair Tucker says
Absolutely. Islam is inherently a political system arguably more political than religious. It’s as redundant to use the “political” tag as it is to use the “moderate” tag. There may be many different schools but there is one Islam and it accommodates every shade of zeal and every contradictory interpretation.

Banning “Political Islam” from “Islam” will amount to trying to separate “Life” from “Flesh”. Not possible in the here and now, because islam is a wholly integrated system of “theosociocratic” (to make up a word in attempt to describe it) reality. To eliminate the “political”, the whole thing must be eliminated. Go for it, Austria. And good luck.
eduardo odraude says
No need to make up a word. We have “theocratic” already.
This Austrian move is wonderful. it reminds me of the old saw in the Soviet Union: “The government pretends to pay us, and we pretend to work.”
Muslim leaders in the West pretend Islam is not totalitarian and political. So the Austrian government pretends to be going only after political movements linked with Islam, not Islam itself. But in reality, both sides know that going after political Islam means going after Islam itself. The Austrian government is using Islam’s own lies against Islam. Oh the irony. Maybe there is hope for Europe.
Yes, Islam is inherently political — that’s one reason why banning “political Islam” is an excellent approach.
gravenimage says
Agreed, Eduardo.
James Lincoln says
Banning the “political” component of islam is a politically correct way of banning islam – a totalitarian religious/political ideology whose goal is to impose sharia law throughout the world.
Actually, quite clever…
