Kurz says: “I expect an end to the wrongly understood tolerance … in all European countries.” He also says that “political Islam” endangers “our freedom” and the “European model of life.”
At the same time, however, he says there is only “one culprit” who is guilty of the jihad terror attack in Vienna. Now that is an obvious point, so why does it even need to be said? Because Kurz is signaling to the Muslim community that he will not engage in what Islamic groups around the world falsely claim is “collective punishment,” that is, counterterror measures designed to prevent future jihad terror attacks.
Kurz adds that this is “not a conflict between Christians and Muslims, or between Austrians and migrants,” but between “civilization and barbarity.” He is assuming in this that many, if not most, of the Muslims and migrants in Austria will side with him against the jihad terrorists and those who think murder is an appropriate response to a cartoon. There will undoubtedly be some, but given the fact that we have seen massive Muslim demonstrations around the world against the cartoons and no Muslim demonstrations in favor of the freedom of speech, Kurz may be unpleasantly surprised at how few Muslims agree with him that this is a conflict between civilization and barbarity, or who agree with him that he represents the civilized side.
“‘End to misunderstood tolerance’: Austria’s Kurz doubles down on vow to fight ‘political Islam’ following Vienna attack,” RT, November 3, 2020:
Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz has said he expects Europe to abandon what he called “misunderstood tolerance” in the wake of a terrorist attack in Vienna while calling for an EU-wide effort to combat “political Islam.”
“I expect an end to the wrongly understood tolerance … in all European countries,” Kurz told Germany’s Die Welt newspaper, adding that the ideology of “political Islam” endangers “our freedom” as well as the very “European model of life.”
The chancellor maintained that the issue is grave enough to require a Europe-wide response, adding that he already raised this topic in phone calls with many European leaders and also plans to make a fight against “political Islam” an issue on the agenda at the upcoming EU summits.
Speaking to the Austrian media, Kurz also called a decision to release the Vienna attacker on parole “definitely wrong.” Earlier, the nation’s Interior Minister Karl Nehammer admitted that the Islamist radical that killed four people and injured 23 more in Vienna on Monday “tricked” a de-radicalization program overseen by the Justice Ministry.
The perpetrator was earlier sentenced to 22 months in prison in April 2019 over swearing allegiance to Islamic State (IS, former ISIS) and attempting to join terrorists in Syria. Yet, he was released just some eight months later since he was no longer considered a threat.
“Had he not been released from prison, a terrorist attack like this could not have happened,” Kurz admitted. Still, the chancellor also maintained that there is only “one culprit”“guilty” of this “barbaric, cowardly Islamist terrorist attack” and that is the assailant himself.
In the wake of the Monday shooting, Kurz apparently sought to ease any potential tensions by saying it was “not a conflict between Christians and Muslims, or between Austrians and migrants” but between “civilization and barbarity.”…

Kurz wouldn’t be interested. Get real !
Kurz is a politician, he is juggling half a dozen balls in the air at the same time, and trying not to drop one. He is trying to keep everyone sweet.
This is his agenda, not the truth of the situation.

Mr. Kurz,
Islam is a Political system masquerading as a religion.
eduardo odraude says
From a theological viewpoint, that may be correct. But from a US legal viewpoint, it is neither correct nor incorrect, because in the US the Constitution rejects any official definition of “religion.” Thus one will not get around the First Amendment by declaring that Islam is not a religion. The First Amendment is precisely what prevents us from defining Islam as “not religion.” Declaring something a religion does not give carte blanche to its members to break US laws or engage in treason or subversion, of course.
KHarn says
Since the “religious leaders” of islam dictate every aspect of society, it is in fact “totalitarianism,” much like communism and socialism.
Beverly Seymour says
Read up on Waco and how the US government killed all those people who had their own “religion” and were not bothering anybody…under the liberal democrats, incidentally…so our “government” can declare what is a “religion” any time. And oh yes, try believing in any religion that has as a basis, pride in racial origins. Nope…no free speech, no religion allowed there. Just saying…the First Amendment is easily eliminated any time the “government” wants to do so. And how long did the Mormans believe in multiple wives as a “religion” before the ban was finally lifted…not because of the Mormans mind you, but because we have too many muslims who want multiple wives, too.

You can’t separate Islam religion from Islam politics. Religion is their politics and their politics is their religion. Islam cannot survive where absolute Freedom of Expression exists, and Democracy cannot survive without true unfettered Freedom of Expression. It is Democracy’s last line of defense and its greatest protection.
Muslims understand that and they will never give-up on trying to weaken our freedoms. If one small crack is ever accepted, they will widen it until all our freedoms disappear.
All their complaints and threats concerning respect for their prophet have one objective and that is to create that first small crack. Never allow it. Fight to the death to protect your Freedoms and Democracy.

Good for this man. He understands that islam is evil…and not just content with meeting in their barracks “peacefully” as moslims claim…but he gets the political aspect, the part that says they must take over every nation and bend the population to their evil will.
However, he may be expecting too much from the idiots that are running the other nations into the ground with their “tolerance ” for islam and the violence moslims use to gain control.

Muslims don’t understand Islam. Muhammad even tripped over himself while “receiving” the Quran which required him to make up “explanatory” verses. As long as the Quran remains in print there will be people who will read it and believe it’s rage filled pages really came down from God. And from among them there will always be a zealot or political manipulator.
JohnTheRevelator says
As with any form of knowledge there is a learning curve. A rational person can be smart and ‘guess’ what the ideology is about but they will largely be wrong if they refuse to actually study that subject or ideology.
So the real problem here is that there still remains a very large knowledge gap when it comes to Islam and our leaders and western populations.
The vast majority of people have a very rudimentary level of understanding Islam. It’s unfortunate that most people are not ‘autodidactic’ in that they don’t really bother to do the necessary research to grasp a topic.
This is why we hear leaders like Marcon and Kurz mouth a bunch of useless platitudes, because they really don’t know what it is that we’re fighting against. Had they bothered to regularly visit Spencer’s and Geller’s website, they’d learn very quickly. Not to mention there are a ton of other resources online that anyone can use to get up to speed about Islam.
The reality is that Islam is today’s Nazism and we’re in WW3. There is no compromising with Muslims, either we win or they do, it’s a zero sum game that will determine a nation’s future. Many nations that didn’t learn this lesson were brutally and mercilessly conquered by Islam.
If our leaders don’t figure it out eventually then the same will eventually happen to use. We see this process occurring right now in weak nations like Sweden, UK and France. The elites really have no excuse since they have the power to deal with Muslims and also the intelligence services that can quickly educate them.
We’re reaching a tipping point in the West where the fight gets harder and harder each year as the Muslims gain numbers and powers.
Roger Woodhouse says
Spot on.Our ‘leaders’dont want to know Islam. Its beyond them.To do so would open their eyes and would then require ‘action’but they know that ‘action,’ would endanger their comfortable positions risking their removal if they make the wrong decission. So much easier to keep turning a ‘blind eye’ to the problem and let the next incombant face the issue but that of course only delays the inevitable.
