Are people like Jean-Claude Hollerich engaged in a massive campaign of deception, or of self-deception, or of both? In any case, the fog of willful ignorance around this man is so thick, it’s a wonder he can even breathe.
Islam mandates death for non-Muslim subjects of the Islamic state who mention “something impermissible about Allah, the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), or Islam” (‘Umdat al-Salik, o11.10), and such laws are based upon passages in the Hadith and Sira in which Muhammad orders the murders of people who have insulted him.
These include Abu Afak, who was over one hundred years old, and the poetess Asma bint Marwan. Abu Afak was killed in his sleep, in response to Muhammad’s question, “Who will avenge me on this scoundrel?” Similarly, Muhammad on another occasion cried out, “Will no one rid me of this daughter of Marwan?” One of his followers, Umayr ibn Adi, went to her house that night, where he found her sleeping next to her children. The youngest, a nursing babe, was in her arms. But that didn’t stop Umayr from murdering her and the baby as well. Muhammad commended him: “You have done a great service to Allah and His Messenger, Umayr!” (Ibn Ishaq, 674-676)
Then there was Ka’b bin Al-Ashraf. Muhammad asked: “Who is willing to kill Ka’b bin Al-Ashraf who has hurt Allah and His Apostle?” One of the Muslims, Muhammad
bin Maslama answered, “O Allah’s Apostle! Would you like that I kill him?” When Muhammad said that he would, Muhammad bin Maslama said, “Then allow me to say a (false) thing (i.e. to deceive Kab).” Muhammad responded: “You may say it.” Muhammad bin Maslama duly lied to Ka’b, luring him into his trap, and murdered him. (Sahih Bukhari, volume 5, book 59, number 369)
Likewise the popular online fatwa site Islam QA called for death for blasphemers on a page it later took down. It used both Qur’an and Hadith to make its argument. “The scholars are unanimously agreed,” the site explains, “that a Muslim who insults the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) becomes a kaafir [unbeliever] and an apostate who is to be executed. This consensus was narrated by more than one of the scholars, such as Imaam Ishaaq ibn Raahawayh, Ibn al-Mundhir, al-Qaadi ‘Iyaad, al-Khattaabi and others.”
“Cardinal Acquits Islam, Migrants of Terror,” by Jules Gomes, ChurchMilitant.com, November 10, 2020:
VIENNA (ChurchMilitant.com) – Europe’s top cardinal has rejected claims blaming Islam or immigration for jihadi terrorism, even as police revealed that the 14 suspects arrested for Monday’s Vienna massacre are all Muslim migrants.
In a Wednesday interview with SIR Agency, Cdl. Jean-Claude Hollerich, president of the Commission of the Episcopates of the European Union, asserted that incriminating Islam and immigration for French schoolteacher Samuel Paty’s murder and recent jihadi attacks in Nice and Vienna “does not reflect the truth.”
“Prophet Muhammad would have been ashamed of the attack in Nice,” Hollerich said quoting the imam of Bordeaux, “recalling that Muhammad had been criticized many times during his lifetime, but he never took these criticisms seriously and was never upset.”
Defending Islam’s Blasphemy Law
The cardinal also backed Islam’s blasphemy law prohibiting cartoons of Muhammad.
“I think there cannot be absolute freedom,” he stressed, “freedom of expression must take into account other people’s views, their feelings, religious beliefs in particular.”
The attacks were intended to “divide Europe, strengthen the far-right and populist movements which foment division, and alienate Europe from its founding values,” suggested Hollerich, the archbishop of Luxembourg.
Hollerich said there was hate against Europe because it “shows the world that extremism is meaningless; because Europe is a continent where very diverse peoples succeeded in living together, sharing common values; because we pledged to work for a European citizenship and succeeded in bringing it to completion, tearing down those national walls that divided peoples.”…
Academics have pointed out the egregious errors in false claims made by Abp. Hollerich regarding Muslim migrants as well as Muhammad’s alleged non-violent response to those who mocked him.
The U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest in June 2016 identified 72 jihadi terrorists who had come to the United States from Muslim countries listed in President Donald Trump’s immigration ban.
The Jihad Watch website has provided a detailed listing of Muslim migrants who committed terrorist acts. All the jihadis who murdered 130 people in Paris in November 2015 had recently entered Europe as refugees.
In February 2015, Islamic State (ISIS) boasted it would flood Europe with as many as 500,000 migrants. In September 2015, ISIS said that 4,000 jihadis had already entered Europe as refugees.
Islamic scholar Robert Spencer, in his latest book Mass Migration in Europe: A Model for the US?, explains how Hijrah, or migration for the purpose of Islamization, has its primary model in the migration or journey of Muhammad and his followers from Mecca to Medina.
According to a 2017 report by the George Washington University Program on Extremism, “Austria unquestionably represents one of the European countries where, according to [Muslim] Brotherhood members themselves, the brothers felt they found a particularly favorable environment.” The radical Muslim Brotherhood members are mainly Egyptian and Syrian migrants….

Only because more people weren’t murdered, more moslims should have been involved and the entire city taken over for him and his fake “god.’
Will the stupidity and lying keep spreading like a California wildfire out of control? These liars need to have their mouth washed out with Grandma’s Lye Soap. Evidently they already had their ears washed with it as they haven’t heard the imams saying publicly, recorded and repeated that they are supposed to ‘terrorize’ Jews and Christians and “strike the necks” of people who refuse to bow to their false ‘prophet.’ They haven’t heard the screams and cries of the victims murdered and raped by these demonic creatures.
They can’t possibly believe that these lies will save them, so they must be bowing down on their rugs in secret, only allowing a moslim cleric to see.

The Cardinal had a gun to his head when he made that claim. He clearly had not read the Koran and Hadith. Surah 9.29

Such a spontaneous, unread and unstudied person should not speak about Islam on behalf of his church. Their are more people every day who are reading the primary Islamic source texts and we know the cardinal’s comments are unsupported.
His unfounded claims make him a ludicrous figure. The citations from Mohammed given in the above article refute the cardinal’s spontaneous claims.

Liar! God will, judge the liars. I suggest the cardinal read some of the Hadiths to see what kind of a barbaric, psychopathic criminal Muhammed really was! Dont read any Western sources, just read the Islamic sources, they condemn Muhammed in their own words…except of course, they praise him for doing these criminal acts, instead of condemning him as any decent, Person who obeys Gods laws would do.
He could read “ It’s All About Muhammed” by FW Burleigh which uses only the Islamic sources , just puts it into a readable format.
I don’t think it’s necessarily ignorance of the Islamic sources and Koran…..I think it’s part of the insidious Liberal leftism that’s invading all Christian Churches….the fear of not being politically correct, of being called a racist or Islamophobe ( which can be career destroying in some cases)
Well I suggest the not so good cardinal,go back to Scripture and his own Church History to see how many people were not politically correct and wouldn’t deny Jesus , just ecause it was politically expedient to do so , or even to save their own lives, now many people in Christian history and written about in the Bible who refused to cave in to pressure to dumb down the Word, or deny Jesus , and keep spreading Christianity , and most of all, doing Gods will…..
The Bible warns us about false prophets and people who lead Gods flock astray …Muhammed is a false prophet because he goes against Gods Laws….he is clesrly of Satan with his lies, killing and denial of Jesus divinity and this cardinal,is deceiving Gods flock and leading them astray.
This is what I don’t understand,How an Christians reconcile wirh a religion that teaches that : Moslems say that Jesus was a man only, not the Messiah, the Promised One, the Son Of God, and they claim he did NOT die on the cross, but another person assumed Jesus appearance ( wirh Gods help in some accounts) and that imposter die on the cross in Jesus place. Not only does this deny Jesus divinity, but it negates the entire basis of Christianity! That Jesus dies ro pay the sin price for our sins. That for all sin, you must repent and then there is a cost of that sin, a price to be paid for forgiveness The Jews offered animal sacrifice as that price . Until,Jesus came and opened up salvation for all people, He, the blemishes one, the innocent died, as the sin price for the entire world.
And Islam de ies ALL of this, and says that ecause we be,ieve this, “ ascribe partners to Allah” that moslems god ( not the god of the Bible, obviously) orders all Moslwms to fight against people, who believe this , and kill them if they refuse to deny Jesus and Jesus divinity and convert to Islam!
How in the world can Christianity claim to reconcile with this lie, this blasphemy, and claim Islam is related to Christianity and Judaism or that Isoam is an Abrahamic relihion, or even worse that Christians Jes and Moslsms all worship, the same god! The God of Isoam is evil, does nkt love people, just whatvthey do, doesn’t love sinners, takes pleasure in going to hell and torturing sinners, takes pleasure in ordering his followers to fight and kill people who don’t be,ieve in him or his precious Muhammed! ….
And I’m not even mentioning how What Christianity calls sin, and forbids, Islam commands it’s followers to do !
I will pray for this cardinal, as I pray for moslems, to wake up and understand how false and evil Islam truely is , and repent and accept Jesus into their hearts…..

As a Jew, I do not believe that Jesus was the messiah. Yet, I believe that any person, who performs the deeds that define a righteousness upon someone, would make them a better, more righteous, more deserving of righteous reward in the hereafter, than myself. That means simply that being my religion doesn’t guarantee my reward let alone more a reward than someone who doesn’t believe as I. I say this because I think your critique is wrongly considered against this egregious pope, who indeed suffers self deception disorder.

Speaking as a Christian myself, I can’t understand this, either. My guess is that unlike Paul, the cardinal would rather please men than God.

History tells us Mohammed, from the very character of his religion, could not let the sword rust in its sheath so:long as Islam had not attained supremacy. Consequently he continued to lead his followers on warlike expeditions against both Jews and heathen. The fact that he himself took part in all the fights was a great spur to the spirit and courage of his troops; more than once his life was in danger, but a higher power protected God’s envoy; the sword fell from the hostile leader who waved it above his head.

owensgate says
So then, a top member of the Catholic hierarchy has “confirmed” that Mohammad was a “Prophet”. Do the Catholics understand the difference between a “Prophet” and a “False Prophet”? Just sayin’, because the Bible they don’t seem to understand, is quite specific. “Prophet”, in Biblical terms, is one whose prophecies are 100% accurate, not ONE in its time proven to not have come true exactly as specified. So. How many of ol’ Mo’s “prophecies” have come true? How many did not? If even ONE of his alleged prophecies didn’t, then he was a “FALSE” prophet, worthy of being stoned to death. Only the God of the Bible can foretell the future with 100% accuracy. The Vatican should know this.
somehistory says
Correct. A True Prophet would speak Truth, speak in God’s Name and glorify God as the One responsible for knowing the future and giving the information to the human speaking in His Name.
And as you wrote, all of the prophecies came true.
In the time of Jeremiah, there were false prophets attempting to make Jeremiah out to be a liar.
Another prophet was told what to say and not to stop off for food, etc. before he completed his assignment. He did not follow the commands and was told by the one who mislead him that he would be killed…as he had been warned. That came true for the unfaithful prophet
In the time of David, there was one who spoke about what was to happen, those to whom he spoke believed him, but it was all lies.
So many examples. Those lying and saying they were speaking for God brought destruction upon themselves. The same will happen to those lying today.

This sort of ignorant sucking up to Islam by Church leaders is pathetic. Muslims are slaughtering Christians continuously (especially in Africa) and these Church leaders spend their time defending this clear, murderous enemy of Christianity, Islam. It is beyond belief. These fools among the Church leadership need to read Robert Spencer’s books about Islam because they obviously know absolutely nothing about Islam’s vile nature. And people in responsible positions should not make public statements about things that they know nothing about. There’s really no excuse for them. They need to go and learn about a subject before they make statements about it. I keep thinking, do they think that if they are really nice to islam and say really nice things about islam, then Muslims will become nicer people and won’t go around killing Christians and other non-Muslims any more?

Thanks for the comments, GreekEmpress, john, gravenimage and Boycott Turkey. I am a Christian believer, brought up a Catholic, probably not really part of any particular Christian church these days, although, since i wake up early and, here in Sydney, Australia, one of the TV stations has the Catholic mass or church service on at 6am, I watch it and enjoy it. I prefer it to actually going to a church service, being something of a reasonably happy hermit. I cannot believe that these Christian church leaders are actually evil, ( the clergy I have met mostly are not evil people) which is why I do believe that, maybe, they do say all these nice things about Islam (totally undeserved) because they do think it will result in Muslims becoming nicer people. It’ll never happen. Muslims will see it as weakness to be exploited. Their job is to call out evil, which islam definitely is. They are pathetic the way they suck up to Islam in this way. Also, as I said, people like these clergy, who have responsible positions, should not talk rubbish about things they seem to know nothing about. People like Robert Spencer are the type of Christians I’ll listen to when it comes to Islam’s nature.
James Lincoln says
tim gallagher,
I am also a Christian believer, brought up Catholic.
As far as the Roman Catholic Church, there are many wonderful, sincere, and devoted parish priests. I have known a number of them personally – and many will admit privately about the problems at the top of the hierarchy.
In order for it priest to “move up” the chain in the hierarchy, he cannot go against official positions coming out of the Vatican.
Because there is rot at the top – Pope, Cardinals, Archbishops, etc., – does not mean that there are not some very good local parish priests.
Unfortunately, many Catholics are leaving the Roman Catholic Church because of the above problems. They are exploring Greek Orthodox, Evangelical, etc.
I still do attend Catholic mass – on “special” occasion – but I have been exploring other Christian houses of worship…
tim gallagher says
Thanks for the comments, James and E T. You are probably right about the globalist agenda, E T. James, over the years I have met quite a few clergy and i think they are pretty decent people. I like the Catholic mass, but, I see myself as more of an Anglican these days. I am opposed to the obligatory celibacy for Catholic clergy and also I think there should women priests. I wrote to a high up Catholic here in Sydney and said that it was time to end obligatory celibacy and that there should be women priests ( both of which the Anglican church has implemented) and he wrote a pleasant letter back to me, saying that he disagreed but thanks for bothering to write. I am, most of the time (got my doubts from time to time) a basic Christian believer, but I’m not really inclined to go to church services these days. It would be maybe four or five years since I went to church. But there’s always been Christian hermits or loners (by temperament), so I think God wouldn’t be bothered about that. These church leaders that I disagree with, I simply ignore. I don’t consider them to be bad people. But, on islam, many seem to be know nothing fools. On other issues they are probably wise, but some seem to know bugger all about islam.
James Lincoln says
tim gallagher says,
“I am opposed to the obligatory celibacy for Catholic clergy and also I think there should women priests.”
Agree on both points, tim.
If a priest is a man or woman – married or unmarried – none of that makes any difference to me.
As long as they can help me “save my soul”, that’s all I care about…
tim gallagher says
Thanks for the reply, James. Yes, to me, the obligatory celibacy has made no sense for ages and I’m fine with women priests. It seems to work well for the Anglican church. As you say, their vocation is helping people to save their souls. One thing that seems really clear to me (and all the wide awake people at Jihad watch) is that sucking up to evil ideologies like islam , telling people that this evil ideology is good and “peaceful, is a very wrongheaded idea.

They know full well that they are lying. They have either already converted or they just want to still be alive when moslims take over…which they think is going to happen. They want to continue to have bread and butter, and they stupidly believe that moslims will allow them that much when the killing is done. (As long as there are moslims, there will be killing; it will never be done while islam is practiced.)
It’s makes us sick…at least, it does me…to see them get away with lies. May as well call moslims “Christians” or make the moslims happy and call Christians “moslims.” They are ‘preachers’ for islam and claiming to be Christian preachers.
If it makes humans sick to hear the lies, one can imagine how angry it makes our True Lord and His heavenly Father. I believe the Prophet Joel had something to say about God’s anger and what causes it to “come up,” as “rage.”

If I may:
Europe’s “top cardinal” would be the cardinal-bishop of Porto-Santa Rufina near Rome. Hollerich is “merely” cardinal-priest of San Giovanni Crisostomo a Monte Sacro Alto. The Cardinal-bishop of Porto-Santa Rufina, as of 2020, is Cardinal Stella. Porto-Santa Rufina is one of the 7 highest-ranking sees in the Catholic Church of the Roman Rite – Hollerich’s see of Luxembourg is not.
Basically, Hollerich is not of the top 7 cardinals – Cardinal Tagle is one of them – nor as low-ranking as a cardinal-deacon; but somewhere in the middle of the College of Cardinals, with other cardinal-priests.
As Cardinal-Archbishop of Luxembourg, he is the highest-ranking Catholic ecclesiastic in Luxembourg – but again, not in Europe.
It should be pointed out, that with the occasional very rare exception, all members of the College of Cardinals are bishops, either serving or retired,
JamesC. says
“The cardinal also backed Islam’s blasphemy law prohibiting cartoons of Muhammad.
“I think there cannot be absolute freedom,” he stressed, “freedom of expression must take into account other people’s views, their feelings, religious beliefs in particular.””
All of that remark is I think a perfectly fair point or two. The right to exercise freedom cannot be separated from the duty to take responsibility for the manner in which one does so. As social beings, we have not only rights that we can justly claim from others in their conduct toward us; we have duties to them, which they, with equal justice, can claim from us in how we behave to them.
“The attacks were intended to “divide Europe, strengthen the far-right and populist movements which foment division, and alienate Europe from its founding values,” suggested Hollerich, the archbishop of Luxembourg.”
Disagree – because *Islam* is trying to alienate Europe from those values. The “far right”, as they are miscalled, are trying to protect those values, not destroy them. Whether these are the Christian qualities and virtues of the Old and New Testaments, or the Classical virtues of the Greco-Roman tradition. The debased morality of Islam is far from desirable. Talk of “values”, without ever specifying what values are intended, darkens understanding and is unworthy of honest men.

The right that freedom of speech protects is precisely the freedom to offend. Think about it: speech that offends no one needs no protection.
This Catholic official is apparently one of many fools today buying into the idiotic view that freedom of speech should be more limited than it is.
The remedy for bad speech is not censorship or punishment. The remedy is not the application of some kind of state violence against the speaker. The remedy for bad speech is more speech.
Freedom of speech is one of those things that too many people do not really understand in the least. Spiritual insight might be required to understand it, and evidently this Catholic official has none. Perhaps he is simply like a sheep — or a lemming — following the blind pope into the ditch.

I wonder what the Pope and other Christian Priests will say once the Pope is shot again by a muslim as happened before, he was a Turkish muslim, and when people tell me I am wrong when I tell them that muslims are in The West basically to take over and kill us on the way, I tell them that I am merely parroting the words I hear from various islamic preachers so they should just listen to them and not me.
However the notion that Mr Spencer always seem to put PBUH after the name muhamad is also of concern as that war lord does NOT deserve such respect.
eduardo odraude says
Huh? I’ve been reading Spencer for years, and I’ve never heard him put PBUH after Muhammad’s name — unless maybe on some rare occasion in satire of some sort, or quoting someone else.
Islamic leadership is mostly as you say: pushing a totalitarian theocratic agenda for the gradual takeover of the world by persuasion, violence, and fraud. But there are a lot of Muslims who don’t know much about their religion. The may pray the Qur’an, but they pray it in Arabic and most Muslims do not speak Arabic, so they often don’t know much about what they are praying. They often don’t read the Hadith or the earliest Muslim biographies of Muhammad, and know little more than the whitewashed half-truths their imams tell them. Many will abandon Islam if they can be convinced to read their own sources with a critical eye. David Wood has been helping them to do just that by making hugely popular videos in which he criticizes Islam entirely by quoting the Islamic sources and then by analyzing them. His many videos (he has been making them for like ten years now) have gotten thousands of comments from Muslims telling him they have left Islam since watching them.
Ecosse1314 says
As i have said before Andrew; Mr Spencer only puts pbuh after Mohammed when he is directly quoting an Islamic source. If you read the article again you will see what I mean.

“I think there cannot be absolute freedom,” he stressed, “freedom of expression must take into account other people’s views, their feelings, religious beliefs in particular.”
Well then, we’ll just have to rewrite all legal basics in the Western world just for you, won’t we? Feelings belong to the individual. Do you feel afraid all the time? Then get a backbone. And since when did Islam consider the feelings of those who do not care to be beheaded? And as for religious beliefs, piss on your religious beliefs.

If I were a Christian, I would be careful not to call anyone a prophet unless I really believed they spoke the word of God, I’ll bet this cardinal does not truly believe the Quaran is God’s word; it’s really that he cares more about politics than religion.

No major Islamic cleric ‘outlawed’ terrorism by issuing edicts known as fatwas.

Muhammad under any modern day rule of law would be considered CRIMINALLY INSANE. His own writings support mass murder of unbelievers or his personnel enemies, child rape, sex slavery, honor killing and theft of others property.
Muhammad ASHAMED NOT
Muhammad and Islam are GUILTY on all counts.

Well maybe and maybe not. Imams here in Canada speak of having sex with 9 year old girls, muta marriage, caliphate, openly support Shari’ah law. Our half-witted Prime minister tells Canadians “Islam is not incompatible with Western, secular democracy”. Gave the Muslims 23 million dollars for what? Justine is just another feckless freak global patsy, aiding and abetting Canada’s down fall.

Incidentally, since the lockdown, I’ve been subscribed to David Wood’s YouTube channel, Acts17Apologetics.
What really opened my awareness to the evils of Mohammed’s doctrine were Wood’s constant referrals to “Islam’s most trusted sources”; the Koran, Hadith and Sunnah.
He used Islamic sources to expose the falsity of Isalm. These sources Koran, Hadiths etc I had downloaded long ago before coming across David Wood’s channel, but never read them.
Indeed the notion of peace with a dominant Islam in any society is a pipe dream.
In my country Nigeria, the once predominantly Muslim north which was viable economically industrially and agriculturally, has become scorched Earth since Sharia was forced into the Constitution in 1978.
Now stupidity reigns over there.
Boko Haram, who actually practice Islam the way Mohammed did in 1400’s Arabia, haven’t even made these Northern muslims question their Imams and their religion.
President Trump reacted appropriately to flood of Muslim immigrants.
France’s President Macron has finally gotten it.
We in Southern Nigeria have seen the wastefulness, insolence and mindlessness this doctrine breeds when in power or has controlling influence.
Western democracies better wake up to this threat.
