Here is the disconnect between the establishment narrative regarding the “right-wing” threat and “Islamophobia” on the one hand, and reality on the other.

Greifswald – Over the weekend a series of fires kept the Hanseatic and university town in suspense. The police were able to resolve the case quickly. Mayor Stefan Fassbinder (54, Greens) was even faster. He came forward with a suspicion of xenophobia that shortly afterwards proved to be completely wrong.
Last Saturday, a car was burned in Greifswald and another vehicle was damaged. A note with a painted swastika hung on the windshield. The owners of the vehicles: Syrians.
On Monday, two arbors were set ablaze in the allotment garden “Am Kleinbahnhof”, not far from the first crime scene. The owners: two other Syrians (52, 56). The arbors burned down. Around 20,000 euros in damage. And: In both plots, the police also found notes with swastikas.
Mayor Fassbinder spoke up in the morning: “I am appalled by this attack, which affects our entire cosmopolitan and tolerant city,” said the Green politician. Allotment gardens in particular are places of relaxation, peace and integration. A politically motivated act was assumed.
He should have waited for the investigation, because in the evening Fassbinder had to walk back his earlier statements in a press release: “As the police headquarters in Neubrandenburg announced, the alleged lead was not confirmed. Rather, an Egyptian suspect was identified.”
As a matter of fact! A 42-year-old asylum seeker from Egypt, who has been charged several times since 2018 for robbery and bodily harm, started the fires. He was arrested in the allotment garden. The state security found evidence that corroborated the suspicion, said police spokeswoman Claudia Tupeit.
“We rule out a classification in the category of right-wing violence,” Tupeit clarifies once again. The police spokeswoman comments critically: The presumption made by the mayor was premature!
Because the Egyptian is said to be “mentally abnormal”, the public prosecutor’s office did not apply for an arrest warrant for the man, but for a placement warrant for a closed clinic.
The application was rejected on Tuesday evening by the responsible judge at Greifswald District Court. “The suspect is thus free again,” said the police. The public prosecutor’s office appealed against the decision on Wednesday.
