This hostility is ongoing. You can read more about it HERE. Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has been stirring up hostilities, while he complains to the United Nations about — you guessed it — the “Islamophobia” of India. Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has also been slamming India, prompting this reaction:
India’s permanent representative to the United Nations (U.N.), T. S. Tirumurti, on Wednesday condemned Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s speech to the U.N. General Assembly (UNGA) in which he called for a multilateral resolution to India’s border dispute with Pakistan in Kashmir, labelling Erdogan’s remarks as “gross interference” and “completely unacceptable.”
What makes this latest news of violent flareups at the border all the more disconcerting is the Joe Biden effect: the worst jihadist regimes, including Iran, Pakistan, and the Palestinian Authority have been rooting for Biden in hopes of making gains against their enemies.
In the eyes of Pakistan, “the incoming Joe Biden administration is expected to be more critical of the Narendra Modi government’s handling of the Kashmir issue.”
The thought of a Biden presidency has already raised the hopes of Pakistan against India, and will certainly result in more violence over Jammu and Kashmir.
And as reported by the Indian Express: “As President-elect Joe Biden prepares to take charge of America on January 20, Pakistan hopes to reset bilateral relations with the US and draw Washington into the Kashmir dispute with India.”
“Pakistan is playing to a game plan,” Deccan Herald, November 19, 2020:
Even as India’s border with China continues to be tense, the situation along the Line of Control (LOC), the de facto border between India and Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir, is getting worse. Over the past week, Pakistan has been involved in heavy shootings and shelling of Indian border posts, bunkers and villages. Pakistani aggression was especially deadly on Friday when it resulted in the deaths of five Indian security personnel and six civilians. Ceasefire violations surged this year. According to Indian Army officials, Pakistan has violated a ceasefire more than 4,000 times since January this year, the highest number in a year since the two countries signed a ceasefire agreement in November 2003. Indian officials say the increased Pakistani shelling is aimed at diverting attention from the infiltration of militants across LoC to India. In a few weeks, heavy snowfall will make mountain trails inaccessible. Pakistan appears to be pushing militants into India ahead of the winter months.
However, Pakistan appears to be acting according to the bigger game plan as it targets India on multiple fronts. Last week, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi presented a “file” of “incontrovertible evidence” from India that allegedly sabotaged the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. Recently, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that Gilgit-Baltistan would be granted ‘temporary’ provincial status. Elections for the ‘Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly’ were held on November 15, despite India objecting to Pakistan’s illegal move to change the region’s status. It is evident that Pakistan’s recent move is aimed at playing tricks on China. Islamabad signaled the agreed priorities for protecting China’s interests and its willingness to act to protect Beijing’s interests. This is concerning, especially in the context of the current situation along the LAC with China. India has always considered the possibility of a two-front war with Pakistan and China. Pakistan’s recent move is significant as it reaffirms the possibility of Beijing and Islamabad coordinating their respective hostilities across the LAC and LoC.
Additionally, by increasing aggression and provoking India to retaliate, Pakistan is seeking international attention…..
Boycott Turkey says
Pakistan is trying to provoke India so it reacts and Pakistan can play the victim and say it’s fighting back Pakistan should be sanctioned I wouldn’t be surprised if Erdogans involved in this his been interfering a lot lately in India’s affairs India should tighten the border with Pakistan to stop the terrorist

In his quest for the leadership of islam, Erdogan has discovered a prized ally in Imran Khan: the 2 could just as easily swap countries. Turkey wants to regain its Ottoman caliphate, and while the 400 million Arabs won’t buy that, the potential of 200 million Pakistanis doing so, accompanied by other non-Arabs in other countries is his biggest hope. That’s why in the previous story, I dismissed the idea that the Saudis have any clout w/ Pakistan
Boycott Turkey says
Yes Erdogan wants to restore the Ottoman Empire and wants to be leader of the Muslim world the Saudis are not happy and have even boycotted Turkey I have noticed Erdogan barking at India at the UN about human rights and supports Pakistan over Kashmir which had angered Indians I wonder if Pakistan will give nuclear weapons to Turkey Pakistan is also very Anti Armenian and doesn’t recognise Armenia I was watching something on YouTube to I think the Muslims who invaded and massacred Hindus where Turkic tribes timur and Barbur so Erdogan is thinking we will finish the job of our ancestors
Infidel says
Yeah, in the history of islam, there had been 2 major waves of islamization. The first was after Mohammed’s death, when the Arabs conquered everything from Spain to Khorasan, and slowly converted them. During their conquest of Turkic regions in central Asia, they converted the Turks, who not too long later, became a major power on their own. After the Iranian Samanid empire came apart, various Turkic factions, like the Seljuqs, Ghaznavids and others, took over and started spreading islam elsewhere. The Seljuqs took it to Anatolia, where they conquered it from the Byzantine empire and established several Turkic sultanates like Rum. The Ghaznavids assaulted India for 26 years, and were followed by other Turkic dynasties. B/w 1206 and 1857, India was under the rule of Turkic, not Arab, sultans, w/ brief breaks in 1450-1526 and then again from 1540-1556, when it was ruled by Afghans. The only part of India that Arabs ever conquered was Sind
You are right that Pakistan doesn’t recognize Armenia: I was surprised when I read about it, given that even Turkey and Azerbaijan don’t claim Armenia as their own. It’s a shame that Armenia has no one w/ the courage to stand up for them
Boycott Turkey says
I think the reason Nobody stood up for Armenia is because they are Christian and also it’s a small landlocked country which is seen as insignificant in the eyes of other countries while Azerbaijan is bigger and has oil also the UN wouldn’t recognise Artaksh dispite it being Armenian for 3000 years and they demonised Armenia as the invader similar like in Kashmir where it’s been originally Hindu to begin but Pakistan claims it as part of Pakistan and the UN mistakenly says India illegally occupiers Kashmir why is the UN so Anti History but only Pro Islamic history the UN shouldn’t exist it’s unjust
Infidel says
I tried to see where India stands on Nagorno Karabakh, but couldn’t find it. However, in my view, India should unequivocally support Armenia in this conflict, since it doesn’t get its oil from Azerbaijan and it also has certain sanctions on Turkey due to their support of Pakistan

I’m not sure what the official position is, but a lot of Indians appear to support Armenia:

Thanks for the link, GI. The report described the official Indian position as neutral, and calling for peace. This is pretty stupid, and a result of India putting an ex bureaucrat as their foreign minister, who only knows how to play it safe (India’s foreign ministry being as supine as the state department). India right now has a pretty hostile relationship w/ Turkey, and no special relationship w/ Azerbaijan. They should have just given Armenia unqualified support, not necessarily b’cos of Azerbaijan, but b’cos of Turkey!
jirtu says
The number one item on Erdogan’s agenda is to commit a second genocide of Armenians and conquer Armenia. He has said so a number of times. Most recently he said he wanted to finish the job (genocide of Armenians) which his forefathers had not finished. He also calls Armenians “remnants of the sword” meaning people who somehow survived the genocide. His murderous ambitions is shared by millions of Turks. The recent invasion of Armenia by Azerbaijan (heavily supported by Turkey) is an indication of Erdogan’s plans.

Agree, Infidel and Jirtu. Muslims definitely consider this a Jihad.

Imran Khan is a ridiculous character. After a career as playboy-cricketeer and a scandalous bisexual life (according to British media), he moved to Pakistan to start a new career as a politician. After many failed attempts to become prime minister, he saw a psychic for advice. The psychic told him if he married her, he would be blessed and thus be elected. Genius Imran married her. She had five children from her previous marriage. But she had secret psychic powers. He was elected president in the following elections. And happily they lived thereafter. Imran and Erdogan make a great pair.
Infidel says
Erdogan also started a race based organization called the ‘Turkic Council’. Its current members are Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Uzbekistan balked at joining that during the regime of Karimov, but changed its mind after his death. Turkmenistan is the only Turkic country that has declined to join.
Since Pakistan considers itself a successor state to both the Delhi sultanates and the Mughal Empire, all but two of which were Turkic, Erdogan should just bend his rules and admit Pakistan into the Turkic council

How is this not a declaration of war?

India could support Armenia in the future, both military and diplomatically. But, unfortunately, Turkey is a superpower in the region, no country would want to go against them. Having a radical leader like Erdogan makes things worse both for educated, sane Turkish people and more oppressed Armenians. Turkey should get rid of their Islamomaniac leader Erdogan, Most Turks have had enough of him, even the elderly people ! Then some important things will be okay, though not all, I hope…
Infidel says
Turkey might be a regional superpower, but they are no threat to India, and India is no threat to them, given their distances. Plus Turkey has been backing ISIS cells in India that were busted recently. India needs to do to Turkey what Pakistan did to Armenia, and just break off all ties
As far as the Turks are concerned, the bulk of them are in interior Anatolia, and were never accepting of Kemalist secularism: they form a solid base of support to Erdogan, and his neo-Ottoman ambitions. Like Mark Steyn once noted, the Turkey of Kemal is dead, and is likely never to return
Shaman says
Ataturk’s Turkey is dead but I don’t think it will never return back. People here have had enough of Erdogan and his Islamist policies. I know even some elderly religious people who despise Erdogan. In the latest local elections of 2019, Erdogan and his Islamist party lost many cities to the secular party that Ataturk found, Including the biggest three cities of Turkey. It’s likely that Erdogan will lose in the next elections and return back into his desert hole.
Infidel says
Mark Steyn once analyzed the last Turkish elections, and the trends there. He pointed out that on the coasts, the majority of people are Kemalists, who voted against Erdogan. However, those are the people who’ve been practicing European birth control policies, and not growing in population. In the meantime, in the Anatolian hinterland, the true-green Islamic supporters have been growing, and they pretty much drowned out the Kemalists
You mention the cities, but that sounds like the US, where Dems have most of the big cities, and the GOP the suburbs and rural areas. Guess where the population is growing

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project will be sabotaged quite adequately by Pakistan itself.
China must be on mushrooms if it actually believes Pakistan will be a reliable partner to build a rail line from China’s Kashgar Prefecture to Pakistan’s Gwadar port facilities to give Iran, Pakistan, and China oil trade routes free from any shutdowns in the Persian Gulf.
A poor Pakistan road already meets China’s highway 314 at the Khunjerab Pass(15,000ft). Only 50 miles Southeast of the same mountain range is K2, the second highest mountain on earth. This project is likely to be more like the first attempt at building the Panama canal and take decades.

This project appears to have the power to weaken Islam in Pakistan, giving better opportunities to those who substitute education and consistent industry for time-wasting ritual. Of course, if Pakistanis stick to worship and corruption, the CPEC will be a failure.
Infidel says
Actually, in Pakistan, there is a seething anger in the population at the persecution of Uyghurs, and that’s making it harder for the Pakistani government to keep drooling over China. Also, for its part, Beijing is finally being forced to come to terms w/ the fact that their investments in Pakistan is money down the drain, which is why in the above linked story, they were raising the interest rates on their loans, and Pakistan is finally balking at more projects. For all their skills, the Chinese have one drawback: they know how to piss off all their allies: did it to Burma, Nepal, Sri Lanka and now Pakistan

pakistan keeps creating trouble for India. Constantly. They have a broken economy, internal troubles, rampant corruption, food shortages, security lapses etc; all serious issues for any nation. And to take people’s attention off these issues the politicians and the army will create trouble for India on the border. What a headache pakistan is.
Infidel says
True, but right now, they’re torn b/w the regime and the people, particularly in areas where Chinese projects are going on. They see it as a colonization by China, since BRI doesn’t employ locals, but rather imports Chinese army technicians to do all the work, ensuring that the countries in which these projects happen get nothing. It’s why China has been kicked out of a number of African countries, and why they’re even losing the allies that they had, such as Burma
