Ashraf Amin writes this about Muhammad: “When he was stoned, taunted in the streets of Taif, he instead of cursing the wicked, prayed to Allah that their progeny may accept the message and meaning of Islam.”
He is not telling the whole story. Islam mandates death for non-Muslim subjects of the Islamic state who mention “something impermissible about Allah, the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), or Islam” (‘Umdat al-Salik, o11.10), and such laws are based upon passages in the Hadith and Sira in which Muhammad orders the murders of people who have insulted him.
These include Abu Afak, who was over one hundred years old, and the poetess Asma bint Marwan. Abu Afak was killed in his sleep, in response to Muhammad’s question, “Who will avenge me on this scoundrel?” Similarly, Muhammad on another occasion cried out, “Will no one rid me of this daughter of Marwan?” One of his followers, Umayr ibn Adi, went to her house that night, where he found her sleeping next to her children. The youngest, a nursing babe, was in her arms. But that didn’t stop Umayr from murdering her and the baby as well. Muhammad commended him: “You have done a great service to Allah and His Messenger, Umayr!” (Ibn Ishaq, 674-676)
Then there was Ka’b bin Al-Ashraf. Muhammad asked: “Who is willing to kill Ka’b bin Al-Ashraf who has hurt Allah and His Apostle?” One of the Muslims, Muhammad bin Maslama, answered, “O Allah’s Apostle! Would you like that I kill him?” When Muhammad said that he would, Muhammad bin Maslama said, “Then allow me to say a (false) thing (i.e. to deceive Kab).” Muhammad responded: “You may say it.” Muhammad bin Maslama duly lied to Ka’b, luring him into his trap, and murdered him. (Sahih Bukhari, volume 5, book 59, number 369)
Likewise the popular online fatwa site Islam QA called for death for blasphemers on a page it later took down. It used both Qur’an and Hadith to make its argument. “The scholars are unanimously agreed,” the site explains, “that a Muslim who insults the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) becomes a kaafir [unbeliever] and an apostate who is to be executed. This consensus was narrated by more than one of the scholars, such as Imaam Ishaaq ibn Raahawayh, Ibn al-Mundhir, al-Qaadi ‘Iyaad, al-Khattaabi and others.”
“No Place for Xenophobia and Violence in Islam,” by Ashraf Amin, Kashmir Reader, November 22, 2020:
…The Prophet (pbuh) broke up with the age-old tradition of punishing the whole community for the crime of a single person. He prevented his followers from making generalisations and stereotypes. When he was stoned, taunted in the streets of Taif, he instead of cursing the wicked, prayed to Allah that their progeny may accept the message and meaning of Islam. The Prophet had great faith that every single human being can turn into a pious being who may serve humanity. He strongly believed and impressed upon his followers that Allah may guide anyone at any time and they should never underestimate anyone. When Qur’an warns Muslims about a particular group of people and calls them as enemies of Islam and Muslims, it does so under a particular context and circumstance. The general spirit of Qur’an and the Sirah of the Prophet is to extend one’s compassion and mercy to all men and women inhabitating the planet.
In the contemporary world when Muslims within and without are seen with suspicion, hated, disliked, bullied, stereotyped, they require to rise up to the challenge. If every single Muslim is seen as a terrorist, Muslims should never develop the same type of mentality. Good and humane souls are present in every society. Muslims must avail the services of such unbiased men. The habit of tit for tat is strange to a true believer of Islam. Islam stresses upon forgiveness and amnesty, not on revenge. Quran (41:34) urges its followers, “And not equal are the good and the bad deed. Repel evil by that which is better; and thereupon, the one whom between you and him is enmity will become as though he was a devoted friend.” When efforts are being made from various corners and through multiple means to manufacture hate against Muslim community, worldwide, Muslims being the true guardians of Quranic teachings and Prophetic precepts must not do the same. They can’t afford to cultivate hate for other communities. Muslims have a great role in bridging the gaps between communities; they can’t disfigure their image by partaking in violence and bloodshed.

Like, ‘shake all unbelievers warmly by the throat’? Or isn’t that supposed to be part of the Qur’an’s ‘general spirit’? In which case there’s so much of that sort of stuff in this ‘compassionate. merciful’ book you have to wonder what’s ‘general’ and what isn’t. Or do the likes of Ashraf Amin think we’re all illiterates in the West? A compliment indeed, but we can’t all aspire to be like the Holy Prophet of Allah in that respect!

“No Place for Xenophobia and Violence in Islam,” by Ashraf Amin.
Huh?
Actually, that is not the case … ISLAM HAS A NORMATIVE, COMPULSORY DOCTRINE OF HATE DIRECTED FROM MUSLIMS AGAINST NON-MUSLIM KAFIRS … it is called … ‘AL BARAA’ = Islamic Apartheid, Shunning. It is an Islamic version of apartheid.
Leading Muslims scholars command all Muslims to hate kafirs according to the teaching of AL WALAA WAL BARAA.
-Imam Abdul-Latif ibn Abdur-Rahman Rahimullah said, “It is not possible for someone to realize Tawheed (Islamic faith) and act upon it, and yet not be HOSTILE against the mushrikeen (i.e. wrong worshippers). So anyone who isn’t HOSTILE against the mushrikeen, then it cannot be said that he acts upon Tawheed nor that he realizes it.” [ad-Durar as-Saniyyah 8/167]
– “The Muslim should regard the Kuffaar as ENEMIES and HATE them because of their kufr (wrong belief), just as he hates their kufr (disbelief) itself.” – from Umar Sulayman ‘Abd-Allaah al-Ashqar, “Belief in Allah”
-“The doctrine of al Walaa wal Baraa is the REAL IMAGE for the actual practice of this faith.” – source “Al Walaa wal Baraa According to the Aqeedah of the Salaf”, by Sheikh Muhammad Saeed al Qatani, authoritative Saudi Sharia lawyer and imam at the Abu Bakr and Al Furqan Mosques in Mecca.
-Shaykh Ahmad ibn ‘Atiq said: “There isn’t in the Book of Allah the Exalted – after the issue concerning the obligation of tawheed and the forbiddance of its opposite (kufr=wrong belief)- any issue which has as so many proofs, nor so clearly explained, than the issue of al-walaa’ and al-baraa’.”
– Dr. Muhammad Saeed Al-Qahtaani said: “Thus, it is clear that Al-Wala’ Wal-Bara calls on Muslims to “love” their fellow Muslims and hate the non-Muslim (or Kafir).”
– from Sufi scholar Ahmad Sirhindi (1564-1624): “The honour of Islam lies in INSULTING kufr and kafirs. One who respects the kafirs dishonours the Muslims… The real purpose of levying jiziya on them is to HUMILIATE them to such an extent that they may not be able to dress well and to live in grandeur. They should constantly remain TERRIFIED and TREMBLING. It is intended to hold them under CONTEMPT and to uphold the honour and might of Islam.”
– from ibn Taymiyya, “Book of Emaan”: “… true believers show ANIMOSITY and HATRED towards disbelievers and NEVER support them.”
– K. 28:86 says: “Lend not thou support in any way to those who reject Allah’s Message.”
– In the matter of relations with kafirs, a Muslim should “…act like you are his friend. THEN KILL HIM.” – Sheikh Muburak Gilani
– “… to SHOW ENMITY to those who show enmity to Allaah and His Messenger”. – from [Chap.iv] “The Islaamic Concept of al-Walaa’ wal-Baraa’” by Khalid El-Gharib
– In 2019, Mufti Muhammad Ibn Muneer of New York said, “The general principle is to love and to HATE for the sake of Allah. Which is simply summed up as, loving the Muslims and HATING THE NON-MUSLIMS.”
The above quotes show incontrovertibly that Islam has a doctrine of ISLAMIC APARTHEID called ‘Al Walaa wal Baraa’.
Thus, Ashraf Amin’s claims are exposed as intentionally misleading.

The wonder of it all is that so many, both Muslim and non-Muslim, still buy this BS anymore. And mortimer’s two posts above, one short, the other long, lay out in detail why it’s BS.

“Islam extends compassion and mercy to all women.”
FALSE.
The Koran allows married captives to be raped by jihadists.
Koran 4.24 – “Also (forbidden for sexual intercourse are) women already married, except those (captives and slaves) whom your right hands possess.”
Mark Spahn (West Seneca, NY) says
Islam mandates death for non-Muslim subjects of the Islamic state who mention “something impermissible about Allah, the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), or Islam” (‘Umdat al-Salik, o11.10). In other words, “Don’t Say Nuthin’ Bad About My Prophet”:

Mercy?
Ayatollah Khomeini explains:
“Killing is a mercy.”
Michael Copeland says
“punishing the whole community for the crime of a single person” is, in fact, one of the stipulations in the Pact of Umar, the rules governing muslim behaviour towards dcimmi kafirs. Thus, when a pastor in Florida publicly burnt a Koran muslims in India went on a rampage against Christians in their neighbourhood.

If a state were indeed to end “hate speech” (REAL “hate speech”, that is)…
…it would become an Islam-free zone.
So… demanding an end to “hate speech” is ISLAMOPHOBIA! lol

This is the greatest load of bullshit I have ever read. Although I couldn’t get far with my attempt to read that turgid book, the Koran, (I mainly wanted to check out those quotes about Muslims being called on to murder non-Muslims to make sure that they were really there in the Koran) I found that the Koran seemed completely obsessed with hatred for the non-believers, the infidels. It seemed to be the work of some totally obsessive loony, his mind completely possessed by hatred not compassion. It was, without doubt, a book written with a spirit which was the opposite of compassion. I thought it seemed more like Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” which also, from quotes I have read from it, was a book written by a person with an obsessional hatred for a group of people. I find that whatever these Muslim apologists say, the opposite is the truth.

Islam is just fine until you start reading the Koran and the Hadith. If you don’t but just memorise Arabic verses you don’t understand you will be just fine.
In Indonesia Islam was introduced before Christianity and Judaism. Without those two religions Islam doesn’t make sense and all there is to it is prayers five times a day, fasting during Ramadan, a bit of charity towards other Muslims at that time and an excursion to Mecca. That was not dangerous until the Muslim population received financial aid to really learn what Islam is all about.

Goofy, Islam in Indonesia has been violent and oppressive for a long time. This idea that Islam is benign if they don’t have Jews and Christians to persecute is mistaken.
Sundanese West Java and the kingdom of Majapahit on East Java were conquered by Javanese Muslims, and the Hindu-Buddhist Sunda Kingdom of Pajajaran was conquered by Muslims, both in the late 15th to 16th centuries, and the Muslim-coastal regions often attacked the Hindu-Buddhist-interior part of East Java.
And the Malacca Sultinate had strict Shari’ah law before the arrival of the Portuguese.
This was centuries before the financial involvent of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States in Indonesia.
