This is bad news not only for India, but for global stability. Google Earth has just revealed an apparent expansion of a nuclear weapons facility in Pakistan. Chinese drones have been described as “the new weapon in Pakistan’s jihadi arsenal.”
Adding to this ominous news, a newly aggressive Turkey is also a strong supporter of Pakistan.
“China and Pakistan pen new military deal as tensions with India reach breaking point,” by Alex Shipman, Express, December 2, 2020:
General Wei Fenghe, China’s defence minister, met Pakistan’s President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Chinese state media reports how Gen Wei urged both nations to “push the military-to-military relationship to a higher level”.
He said this will “firmly safeguard the sovereignty and security interests of the two countries and safeguard the regional peace and stability”.
President Alvi “firmly supports China’s stand on issues related to the South China Sea, Taiwan, Xinjiang, Tibet and so on”, according to Chinese state media.
The meeting followed a visit to Nepal where Gen Wei offered his support for Nepal against India.
According to The Communist Party-run Global Times, Gen. Wei said: “China firmly supports Nepal to safeguard its national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
The situation between India and China on the long-disputed Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh has been a source of major tension.
The conflict has long roots as the countries first went to war over the boundary in 1962 but despite multiple negotiations, there has been no lasting resolution….

I wonder if the Muslims have invited the Chinese to accept Islam yet.
Infidel says
They can’t even ask the Chinese to stop their ‘islamophobia’ w/ the Uyghurs, and you want them to invite the Chinese to islam?
Vladimir says
Funny thing is, they may well do that, the North Koreans too, convert to Islam. It would be a good fit in many ways, ”good” in the sense of being in keeping with the Elites maintaining socio-economic controls at home while aggressively expanding abroad.
Infidel says
You’re obviously unfamiliar w/ the racism of the Han Chinese. They would never accept something like islam, since that codifies Arab supremacy, not theirs. The thing about President Xi, as Gordon Chang pointed out, is that he believes in both Maoism as well as something the imperial Chinese rulers used to believe – Tianxia, or ‘all under heaven’. In other words, Beijing believes that they are the sole sovereign authority on earth, and that anybody anywhere in the world who opposes them is violating Chinese law.
That’s also what’s behind their genocide of Uyghurs. What’s unbelievable is the silence of the OIC and all Muslim countries to a real genocide of Uyghurs, as opposed to the imaginary ones done by Israel, India or France
Vladimir says
I am familiar with Han racialism, I just also know that China goes through periodic collapses into mutually warring states, and I can easily see a Muslim grouping like the Uighurs taking over like a foreign dynasty, during that process.
Keith O says
Infidel, you forgot to mention the possibilities of 2 expansionist, racist, power hungry groups forming a friendship.
Whilst in the background both sides are plotting the demise of the other when they have finished with them.
Infidel says
Keith, I don’t rule that out. China is indeed aligned w/ both Turkey and Pakistan, as they enable their version of the Silk Road of the Middle Ages. In fact, almost all Muslim countries in Asia are participants in China’s belt/road initiative
I was disputing Vladimir’s theory that China would accept islam for its own people. Given their record w/ the Uyghurs, Kyrgyz, Kazakhs and even the Hui, it’s obvious that that’s not what they’d tolerate. Yeah, they do have an alliance of convenience, and yeah, they would happily stab those ‘allies’ in the back if and after they won. In fact, forget even that – they way they’ve been treating locals in the various countries that have teamed up w/ them – especially Pakistan – they’ve revealed their hand and turned off quite a few allies
Michael Chernick says
Infidel, please, you are being condescending to the Chinese and underrating them. A dangerous thing to do. I believe we need to separate their government’s international aggression (like our forage into Vietnam) from the ancient Confucian ethic of the people. The Chinese wisdom knows the real difference between religion and the deadly politics behind Islam. They are actually being nice in trying to provide a true education to the Uyghurs snd are NOT committing genocide. The Chinese government accepts Buddhism and welcomed Jews escaping Nazi Germany. They are tolerant do long as you don’t want to divide the country as Muslims always try to create a wedge.
Infidel says
Michael, wherever I wrote ‘China’, I was refering to the Chicoms. I have no idea what the Chinese people think in their cell of a country: maybe we’ll find out the day they become free. Personally, I think they may openly embrace Daoism
Bazz says
This is one of the early signs of a new pact between China and Islam.
It can only end in disaster as both intend to rule the world.
Hopefully their incompatibility will surface earlier than expected.
Infidel says
This was actually the follow-up of a disastrous visit by the Chinese defense minister to Nepal, where he was royally snubbed by a puppet communist regime, no less ? For those who weren’t following, a month ago, Nepal caught China moving border posts to claim Nepalese territory. This after months of Nepal harassing India on several fronts to appease Beijing, but that’s how Beijing responded. So after meetings w/ Indian officials some weeks ago, Nepal reset its policy vis a vis India and China, and the rebuff of China a few days ago was the result
On top of that, Bangladesh, which previously was warming up to the Belt/Road projects, had second thoughts about it, and haven’t been as enthusiastic a Beijing client as hoped.
To prevent the tour from being a complete fiasco, General Wei Fenghe visited Pakistan and signed this deal. Which is good for Imran Khan, given the unrest that his government faces
Essentially, Pakistan is the fulcrum of a China-Pakistan-Turkey axis that’s redefining a bloc in the region. Pakistan is also an enthusiastic supporter of Turkey’s claims to the caliphate, which is why its relations w/ Arab countries have soured

These friendly relations between China, which, of course, wants to become the biggest power and thuggish bully in the world (China has been waiting to be a really big power for ages and it looks like its time has come) and a Muslim country like Pakistan seem strange, as China is persecuting the Muslims in China so fiercely. I guess it is to do with that animosity between China and India that is mentioned in the article above, which was something I had forgotten about. I can now remember a few skirmishes on the border between China and India. China is going to present huge problems for the world as it tries to become a really dominant, bullying power. Whatever problems the citizens of the USA may have, (what with a Biden administration and violent leftist riots, etc) they at least won’t ever have to worry about China actually attacking a country as powerful as the USA is. China would know that it would be wiped out in such a conflict. China also probably won’t bother Europe much. For countries like Australia, along with all the other countries in the Asia-Pacific area, China looms as a huge problem. The Chinese regime is a vicious regime with values that are pretty much the opposite of the western democratic values of Australia, so China is a big worry, and it is a problem that is getting a lot of attention here in Australia lately. Definitely the biggest issue out here in recent times along with, of course, the ongoing issue with the Covid virus and its effect on life and the economy. Pakistan is a disgusting country and I’m sure that the regime in China will do anything to become a dominant, thuggish power in the world. Terrible regimes like these two getting together make me think of the old saying, “Hell sucks”. It’s definitely a couple of evil regimes getting together.
Infidel says
Tim, I wasn’t a fan of Malcolm Turnbull and his government interfering in the US election at the behest of Obama. But Scott Morrison has been a pleasant surprise. First, he’s taken the bull by the horns and leadership on confronting Beijing about the Chinavirus (yeah, diseases are named after their places of origin, like Spanish flu, Ebola, Lyme disease, et al), which has grounded the entire world. Then, when the Chicoms started bullying their neighborhood, he’s joined the Quad w/ US, India and Japan, helped Papua New Guinea kick out the Chinese, and participating in both the China Seas and the Indian Ocean. In fact, Quad, unlike NATO, is a perfect model for how an alliance should be, w/ all 3 countries – Australia, India and Japan – taking the lead in supporting others in naval exercises, as well as supporting individual countries like Vietnam, Taiwan, Burma, Bhutan from Chinese bullying
So far the thing looks regional, but if China starts to back Turkey’s quest for the leadership of islam (which could risk alienating the Arabs), they could make it a worldwide issue by spreading it from the China Seas to the Atlantic coast.
Right now, China has such a serious food shortage that they’re desperately buying food even from their enemies, such as India and the US. This is gonna sound harsh, but I think that these countries – US, India, Australia… should impose sanctions, including food sanctions, on China, and stop selling them food. This will destabilize them a lot faster than continuing to sell them food while they tariff Australian wine and try to twist Australias arms. Australia should do what India has been doing – ban Chinese apps, stop Chinese companies from buying any stake in Australian ones, ban Chinese tankers from shipping oil b/w different parts of Australia and so on. China can be beaten, but it needs to start w/ sanctions that are as serious as the ones on Iran and North Korea
tim gallagher says
Thanks for the comment, Infidel. I believe, as you say, that a whole lot of countries need to get together to confront China and let it know that it has to start to behave in a more civilised way. Australia is in big trouble because I would say that China pretty much owns it. We do so much of our trade with China that China can probably bury Australia economically. China knows this and this is why they are bullying Australia lately because Australia had the temerity to say that there needed to be an inquiry into how the Covid virus broke out in China. China has imposed bans on Australian barley, coal and a huge tariff on our wine exports to China. These actions have pulled the carpet out from under several Australian exporters. Worse than this is that fact that China has been buying Australian farming land, quite a lot of the milk producers out here, a tourist island where, apparently, the Chinese are now shutting the Australians out of the resort. Our universities have also come to depend on huge numbers of Chinese students who come out here. Australia has 25 million people and China, the gigantic thug of a regime, has its billion plus population. Australia has been and still is a great place to live, good weather and quite a good standard of living for most people, but I do fear for its future because of China. Because I’m 70 years old, I’m not too concerned. But, if I was younger, I might think about some other place to live. The reason I mentioned the fact that the USA will never be attacked by China is because, if I were younger, I might try to move to some place like Hawaii. Of course, it is only a dream, as I don’t have skills they’d want, but at least if you live in America China isn’t going to dare attack you. For Australia it is different. Oh, a couple of years back, Australia also leased Darwin harbour to the Chinese apparently. Some of the decisions made (I guess for some immediate financial reward) seem insane. So much has been sold off to China. Now all the talk is about how we have to break free of being so economically dependent on China, which is true. There’s a lot of talk about doing more trade with India and other countries and breaking free of China’s influence.

Very pertinent to keep in mind that Pakistan was created by Churchill as a totally artificial client state to prevent the Communists esp the Soviets from accessing the Indian Ocean through a left leaning independent India, to threaten the oil supply to the West. Churchill’s puppet Jinnah, one of the most secular leaders of pre-independence India, suddenly started saying in 1940 that Muslims could not co-exist with Hindus. He was handed a country on a silver platter in 7 years. Pakistanis continue to believe in that theory despite the fact that 200 million Muslims coexist with Hindus in India today and most of the issues they face are on account of Pakistan and its single-minded obsession with conquering India by waging mindless Jihad against it.
Infidel says
While I do disagree w/ Churchill on some things, like UK’s need to have retained its colonies, Churchill wasn’t the one who pushed the creation of Pakistan. That was driven by the Muslim league, which used a parallel path of political demands accompanied by riots, to put pressure on both the Brits and the Indian Congress. Unfortunately for the latter, they were led by leftist cretins Nehru and Gandhi, who were more interested in proving the illogic of Pakistan’s existence rather than protecting the people not covered by the Muslim League – the HIndus
On a larger note, though, the British role in the Indian subcontinent, as far as Muslim power went, was negative. Just like in the Crimean war, UK sided w/ the Muslim Ottomans against Russia, in the subcontinent, they were busy empowering Muslims such as the Afghans and in the process undermining non-Muslim kingdoms like the Marathas and the Sikhs. If the Brits had never been there, there would probably have been no Pakistan, and in India itself, the Muslim population would have been curbed
