Contrary to popular belief, the Sufis do not reject violent jihad. Their towering figure, al-Ghazali, taught it, and Sufis have been at the vanguard of the Chechen jihad. Hasan al-Banna, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, which in turn gave birth to Hamas and Al-Qaeda, was strongly influenced by Sufism. In 2009, Iraqi Sufis meant with Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal and boasted of their jihad activity in Iraq. Izzat al-Douri, a Sufi leader, was instrumental in the formation of the Islamic State.
“Tanzania arrests youth recruited by Somali militants,” by Christopher Kidanka, The East African, December 1, 2020 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
The breakaway faction of Somalia militants, Ahlu Sunna wa Jama, is recruiting youth in southern Tanzania to train and join terror cells in Mozambique.
Ahlu Sunna wa Jama — moderate Sufis opposed to the mainly Sunni radical Islamist groups — has been operating in the region since 2005.
Tanzania’s Inspector General of Police Simon Sirro said on Thursday that the police have arrested youth from groups that had been recruited from the western regions of Mwanza and Kigoma, and who have confessed to being the ring leaders in the insurgency.
“Some were nabbed enroute to Mozambique to join the jihadists. The game plan is that they would later join their colleagues who had fled Tanzania,” said Mr Sirro.
It is still not clear whether the recruits are supposed to return to Tanzania as sleeper cells or are going to join jihadists elsewhere….

The terrorist group “Ahlu Sunna wa Jama” is planning to conduct jihad to impose Sharia law and then get to ‘janna’, the slavegirl- and wine-filled Islamic paradise. They will spend doing in Islamic paradise what they are not permitted to do on earth.

That’s what we call a satanic religion ( Islam )
OLD GUY says
Thats what I call ignorance and the using of these people by islamic leaders for their POWER and GREED.

Read Quran to know the evil of Islam like Quran 9:29,8:39 and hundred more passages let alone the Hadith etc..

Some more:
Timur/Tamerlane – yes, the same Tamerlane who built towers of skulls of cities that he ransacked, like Isfahan and Delhi – was a Sufi. So were his Mughal descendants in India
And aside from the Chechens, the Kashmir jihadist movement is also comprised of Sufis.
As an aside, I thought that Tanzanian muslims were Ibadis, since they first arrived there from Oman, and Zanzibar was their headquarters

What do you know about Ibadi Islam, Infidel ? I heard about that sect before, but could not found any information on the web about if they are peaceful or not. I would like to learn about it. As far as I know they were declared as an Islamic sect in Amman Islamic congress.

Unsurprisingly, Shaman, Ibadi Muslims consider that only righteous Ibadis, referred to as the ahl al-istiqāmah “people of straightness”, are worthy of being called “Muslims”. Non-Ibadi Muslims are termed the ahl al-khilaf “people of opposition”.
Shaman says
Thanks for the information, Gravenimage. A few years ago I readed that there was not even a single person who joined the ranks of the Islamic State from Oman. I don’t know if that is true or not but I think Ibadi Islam is an interesting sect. Also probably, they are not accepting Ali Ibn Abu Bakr as a caliph. Both Sunni and Shia extremists are giving much suffering to this world. I thought maybe there was a good sect of Islam, which is peaceful and far from the traditional, orthodox Islam.
Infidel says
The strange thing about Ibadis is that they consider just the first 2 caliphs – Abu Bakr and Umar I – legitimate, and everyone after that illegitimate, including Ali, who the shi’a consider Mohammed’s legitimate successor. Yet, Oman is the one Arab country (aside from Qatar and Kuwait) that Iran gets along w/ smoothly. It’s also the most tolerant gulf country, together w/ the UAE
Probably b’cos the sultans knew how to keep them in place!

I’m afraid I don’t much trust any sect of Islam.
The closest you get to a decent sect are the Ahmadis, who reject violent Jihad. But even they are in favor of the savagery of Shari’ah law–and no other Islamic sects even consider them to be real Muslims.

Tanzania: Moderate Sufis recruiting youths to join jihad terror cells in Mozambique
………………
Not so “moderate” after all. And no–Sufism does *not* reject Jihad terror.
