This is one of the primary reasons why Trump is no longer president: he took on the military-industrial complex that finds these wars profitable. They proved too powerful and too well-connected to be defeated. And so now Americans will once again expend their blood and treasure in conflicts that cannot conceivably be solved by American intervention and in which we have no national security or any other interest.
“US military convoy enters northeast Syria: report,” i24News, January 22, 2021:
A large US military convoy entered northeastern Syria on Thursday, Syrian state news agency SANA reports, citing sources on the ground.
According to the report, the convoy included some 40 trucks and armored vehicles and was backed from the air by helicopters.
It entered Syria from Iraq via the al-Waleed crossing to bring arms and logistical equipment to the bases in Hasakeh and Deir Ezzor provinces.
Other local media report that such maneuvers are not unusual as the US often moves transfers equipment between Iraq and Syria.
At the same time, SANA also reports that some 200 US troops arrived in the Hasakeh province on helicopters….
mortimer says
ISIS will soon find a new caliph and start again. Sleepy Traitor Joe will take a nap while it happens.
Sleepy Joe won’t stop them.
mortimer says
Sleepy Joe doesn’t even protect Americans from Antifa terrorists.
tgusa says
You are right about that mortimer. Anti terrorism abroad is no longer an excuse unless we want to occupy large swaths of the planet because that stuff is happening all over the place. Many Americans don’t know history. Syria was allied with the soviets during the cold war. Russia still enjoys a historically strong, stable, and friendly relationship with Syria. Could we describe this as Russian collusion?
underbed cat says
Or the other groups of the radicals for that matter, he finally can say he is president of a nation he may well destroy America with the organizations his “friends” built to restrict the freedoms of speech and defense in America and think he bringing “peace” to America…..except he did not check out the definition of peace or terrorism or the commands and goals of his friends that surely would claim that it is” racism” or racist to know, even if they know it is true doctrine. Open borders a national defense issue…all gone.
Sabri S. says
There is only two ways to get rid of the imperialist and racist USA – a natural disaster or bomb them out (think: Lebanon 1983). The US and Zionist NEVER leave a country willingly. History has shown us this time and time again. I can’t imagine any intelligent soldier risking his/her life to keep these global elites and Zionist in power. It is truly shocking this type of stupidity, when their enemy is right in “their” own country.
Artist says
You win the moron of the morning award.
Zionist?
Obviously you are clueless about modern Zionism.
Why didn’t you throw in the Rothschilds and the Khazars and how Jews rule the world?
Go back to The Daily Stormer.
john smith says
He does have a couple of rivals for the award, but he is bang on track to win it.
Infidel says
So what exactly did Israel do in Lebanon in 2000, Jihad-mian? They vacated South Lebanon and were subsequently subjected to rocket attacks by Hizbullah. That’s a part of the reason that the Labour Party, which appeased Jihadists, is pretty much dead
I do agree w/ you that our troops don’t belong in the Middle East, and that we were actually pulling them out until Biden intervened. This is one place where I think the squad has it right – to get our troops completely out of there
notnolib says
Sabri,
Are you one of allahu’s ackbarbarians? Follower of the moon-god allahahaha who was invented along with islam by the pedophile pig-faced dog, mohammed?
gravenimage says
*Of course* Sabri S. hates America–he not only hates any efforts at defending against Jihad terror–which he believes is the right of all Mohammedans.
Then, his claim that Amereica is racist is absurd–note that he has never comdemned Muslim enslavement of Black Africans, despite being asked to do so score of times at this point.
Then, he is referring to Jewish people living in their own nation of Israel–but he has sid many times that he wants to destroy that civilized state. ANd why not? Pious Muslims *hate* the idea of Jews being able to lieve free of the Muslim heel.
And he is, as always, an apologist for Jihad terror. The reason we were in Lebanon was a peacekeeps in the Lebanese ‘civil war’, where Muslims wiped out huge swaths of the Christian population. Of course he hates the idea of any Infidels making Muslim genocide of unbelievers more difficult.
john smith says
As always you sum things perfectly, and like you say they were in Lebanon as peacekeepers. If the US were imperialists like he claims, they could have conquered the whole of the middle east in the blink of an eye, but they are not.
Sabri S like all jihadi’s believe they are the victims, when in fact it’s quite the opposite,
they are aggressors, they are the war mongers, they are the ones that put darkness for light. As you are well aware the bible clearly warns us of them in many places, e.g. Isaiah 5:20.
Mojdeh says
We had used put finger not azz of all nations. When they put fingers in to our azz we got mad.indeed. We use make coups with UK all nations. Now the UK made COUP against USA. Now we feel lousy. Iran is great for Joe Biden and everyone. Since they cause troubles and we keep selling arms to all gulf states. Iran terrorist regime has a value for UK EU and USA?
gravenimage says
No, the UK has not taken over the United States.
Udo Walter says
The UK never left the American colonies.
Infidel says
Very true. I recall in 2017 when a Guardian reporter was assaulted by a Montana GOP candidate after repeatedly pestering him. The thing that struck me was – what was a British journalist doing in Montana? You don’t usually see American journalists in, say, Newcastle, do you?
gravenimage says
With all respect, this is silly. There is no law restricting British journalists to specific parts of the county. And the presence of a reporter for the Guardian in an out-of-the-way part of the US to cover a congressional race is *not* proof that Britain never gave up its American colonies.
Ecosse1314 says
With defense cuts the UK would be hard pushed to occupy the Isle of Wight.
Eleanor says
Agree, the UK is itself being occupied by thousands of young muslim ‘soldiers’ coming across the channel on dinghies from France. Trouble is, UK thinks they are asylum seekers from wartorn countries, and rolls out the red carpet for them. The UK has a big shock coming in the next few years, as the ‘soldiers’ keep pouring in.
gravenimage says
Grimly true, Eleanor.
spiro says
Who ordered this troop movement
They just dont just pack up and change
Location
Infidel says
They probably felt uneasy about there being more troops in DC than in Syria, and therefore this change!
James Lincoln says
Correct, spiro.
Troops do not move without orders…
Liam F says
But who makes these orders? What is the chain of command in deciding the movements of military convoys? Is the movement of this particular convoy a direct result/reaction to Biden presidency? Or a “not unusual” transfer of equipment from Iraq to Syria that would have happened irregardless of who our new President was? Not saying this to be combative (no pun intended), but rather curious if the elevated media coverage of this particular movement is part of Trump aligned conservatives looking to preemptively smear Biden and insinuate /perpetuate certain narrative of how Biden and the DOD under Biden will simply “drag us back in to the endless war”- before we’ve even begun to see clearly what Biden’s U.S.-Syria plan will look like in the coming times… Just some thoughts…
Tree Grimes says
whoever just posted this. steadfast.
Just ALL of us, civilian, military, unemployed, sick or not…
None of this is your fault.
We just continue to work and try to help each other.
Beneath the Veil of Consciousness says
A perfect distraction for his already faltering domestic issues. I wonder how the corporate media will spin this?
tgusa says
Democrats are very worried about patriots in the US military and a way to purge them would be to put them in harms way in crap-holes around the globe. Also, the way they treated the troops in DC after they were done with them shows multiple violations of the Geneva conventions but that is for prisoners of war. However, I do believe that the troops are prisoners of war, democrat wars. The people who voted for Biden are bad people and as democrats like to say, worse than al Qaeda. I’m always happy to take a page out of their playbook and use it against them.
There is a term in the military regarding the Biden administration and it starts with cluster and ends with, well, I will let you figure that out.
Wellington says
I don’t believe, tgusa, that everyone who voted for Biden is a bad person (though many are). But I do know this: Everyone who voted for Biden is, at the very least, an ignorant fool. Here I am 100% certain. No exceptions.
And “mere” foolhardiness” can often do as much destruction, if not more, than “sheer” malevolence. God, are we in huge trouble with the least intelligent man (easily so) who has ever held the office of President—and he isn’t even in full possession of his deficient mind that he once had, and which mind that is left is riddled with leftist wokeness that is injurious to liberty exponentially.
tgusa says
Perhaps Wellington. I have always had an intolerance of ignorance (stupidity) so that’s hard for me to get past but that’s just me. I tried to be more tolerant of stupidity but it didn’t work.
tgusa says
Biden has revoked a Trump executive order that sought to keep foreign countries and companies out of America’s bulk power systems, principally entities associated with the Chinese Communist Party.
Ignorant or uninformed this is what they voted for. If we want to apply a principle associated with the rule of law, ignorance is no excuse. Anyone who voted for all of this is no American in my view of what constitutes an American. This is why Biden has the nickname of Xiden. CCP owns him, bought and paid for.
tgusa says
And since Bidens installation everything regarding the kung flu has changed. These people voted for a group that destroyed millions of peoples lives to get President Trump. Yes I will call him President Trump and likewise Resident Biden. Perhaps bad people is not a strong enough reference.
gravenimage says
Agree, Wellington. I know a lot of nice people who are complete fools.
tgusa says
That must be hard, you have my sympathy. I am sure you will carry on carrying on through that adversity nevertheless.
gravenimage says
tgusa, it’s not always easy. I’m sure this is true of many people here.
James Lincoln says
gravenimage,
Also very difficult when they are members of your extended family.
Puts a chill in the Thanksgiving gravy…
gravenimage says
I have the same problem, James–as I have mentioned here before.
Infidel says
So what’s our new policy on Iraq/Syria: are we now out to create a new Kurdistan? Is that the new cause célèbre?
Where are you, Cindy Sheehan and others? Can you bring your caravan to Joe’s house in Wilmington, DE? Where’s ANSWER – Act Now, Stop Wars and End Racism? Ain’t it racist of us to be re-entering Iraq or Syria?
tgusa says
Our great and patriotic troops don’t deserve this they should have helicoptered in the fbi instead.
Infidel says
Yeah, I think it would be more fun to have our troops do in Quantico or Langley what Janet Reno’s troops did in Waco in 1993.
I noticed the MSM bitch about there being more troops in DC than in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria combined. Well, our troops belong in… our country, the US. Our troops don’t belong in Syria any more than Syrian troops belong here
tgusa says
Yes it would. If the fbi were to go over there and come face to face with an authentic terrorist threat I just might begin to feel sorry for them. On second thought, maybe not.
tgusa says
I watched an interview with the WWII vet Eugene Sledge. He wrote the book, With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa, and he wasn’t a fan of Reno and her actions at all.
gravenimage says
Back to the endless wars: US military convoy enters northeast Syria
…………….
It’s good that we took out the Islamic State, but there is no other reason we should really be there.
Infidel says
Maybe, but the MSM is horrified that there are more troops in DC than in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan combined. Never mind that US troops belong in the US. If it seems strange to have thousands of troops in DC, do what Gov de Santes and Gov Abbott did, and recall those troops back home. They have their own private sector jobs to do: they’re not the props of Joe, Kamala, Chuck and Nancy
As for Syria, how does Joe reconcile wanting to restart talks w/ Iran, and sending troops to what they consider their ally/client state?
gravenimage says
I take your point, Infidel–but having hordes of US troops in the Capitol supposedly defending against the threat of conservatives was more Dem theater than any thing else–and very ugly theater.
Infidel says
Oh, I absolutely agree w/ that: I’m just pointing out that if those National Guards volunteers (troops seem to suggest that they are members of the US Armed Forces, which they ain’t) don’t belong in Washington, that doesn’t mean that they belong in Syria or Afghanistan, as the MSM reporters seemed to be suggesting
OLD GUY says
Our governments first responsibility is the protection of American citizens. Biden’s opening of the borders is allowing the migration invasion of American enemies to invade our country with no regard for our citizens safety.
His disregard for our safety and aiding the enemy to infiltrate America should be grounds for impeachment or charges of treason.
John D. Alder says
I read Armstrong Economics so what is taking place is no surprise to me. We have some very rude awakenings just around the corner. I strongly suggest preparing for tough times.
