Deradicalization programs are an abysmal failure everywhere they have been implemented. From the Jihad Watch archives:

The whole premise of “deradicalization” is that Islam is a religion of peace that jihadis misunderstand, twist, and hijack. Since that is a false premise, and warfare against unbelievers is actually taught in the Qur’an and Sunnah, “deradicalization” focuses on other issues, such as “anger issues” that the jihadi may have, his feelings of “alienation,” and the like.
But since none of that changes what the Qur’an and Sunnah say about warfare against unbelievers, it doesn’t “deradicalize” the jihadi at all. A British psychologist behind a “deradicalization” scheme has also admitted that there’s no guarantee that jihadis can ever be “cured.” And Jonathan Hall QC, the UK’s independent reviewer of terrorism legislation, said there was “no magic bullet or special pill” that could help to change convicted extremists.
“Bangladesh de-radicalises Islamist militants to help return to life,” DPA, January 15, 2021:
Nine Islamist extremists from two militant outfits surrendered in Bangladesh in order to return to normal life by taking advantage of a government de-radicalisation programme. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan received seven men and two women by presenting them flowers upon their surrender, and handed them to their families at a ceremony in Dhaka on Thursday.
“Those who adopted the wrong path have returned to their life today, brining smiles to the faces of their parents,” Khan said, calling on other extremists to take the opportunity, too.
The men and women, between the ages 18 and 34, had been alienated from their families since they joined the homegrown Islamic outfits Jamaatul Mujahedeen Bangladesh (JMB) and Ansar al Islam, both of which are have been blamed for multiple deadly attacks in Bangladesh.
They were also offered cash and material supports to begin afresh under the government’s De-radicalisation and Rehabilitation Programme, said Colonel Tofael Mostafa Sarwar, the head of the scheme. None but one of those who surrendered are accused in any criminal cases, but they were deeply engaged with the militant groups, he said.
All nine were under surveillance before they were brought to this stage, he said, adding they were radicalised either through social media or by their friends.
Members of the spy agencies in the guise of militants mixed with them and gradually managed to convince them to shun their way of life, the colonel said, concluding: “It is the first step to bring them back to the light.” (dpa)

There is a magic bullet to cure jihad: a real bullet. And there is a special pill for it as well: a cyanide pill! Either of them will cure a jihadist of his jihad ?

I just don’t understand , an alleged repentant jhadi doesn’t face any consequences if he/she want’s to go back to his/her old life , in Canada I have heard of returning jihadis who got all kinds of benefits and even skipped the housing line to get them as fast as possible a state sponsored accomodation , it’s the same in Europe , returning jihadis including brides of fallen jihadis with their children get preferencial treatment . I just don’t see how going to fight for a foreign entity like The Islamic state is not treason .
It’s just insane they get off scott free , are we out of our mind ? Tommy Robinson got jail time for wanting to report on the infamous rape gangs in the Uk , and that is not the only case in western countries when you get jail time when you should get a slap on the wrist .

Precisely. Deradicalization programmes keep dedicated terrorists fed until they can plan their next decapitation or bloodletting.

I suspect the jihadis appreciate the rest time and money, chalking it up to their belief that we infidels sh be taxed to support them.

Regarding any ” deradicalization program,” two important aspects of this should be understood.
First, a better and more fitting term such for such a ” deradicalization program” would be calling it a ” de-mind programing system” of an unbrainwashing method system.”
The reason that this is so is because in in the entire and whole worldview, this includes the Islamic worldview, the word “Radical ” when referring to a dangerous and violent jihadist isn’t a fitting title to describe a jihadist who in involved in violence and killing for the cause of Islam.part of the as many Muslims see it.
For what Westerner and other non -Muslim view as “radical” ,numerous Muslims see as a “committed” and “devoted” Muslim as any “good” Muslim should be.
Second, the reason the no so called “deradicalization program” is effective in straightening out an dangerous and violent Muslim who is also a jihadist is because he or she has been so thoroughly infected, contaminated , brainwashed, indoctrinated and mind programmed into a non-watered down hard core Qur ran based dangerous violent and deadly jihad way of thought that no amount of therapy , no matter how well intended , will be about the turn those kind of jihadists into non-violent people.
As the ancient Greek playwright wisely wrote ” Even the wisest of the wise can never make a crab walk straight.”
Likewise, the philosopher ,Immanuel Kant, had written “Out of the crooked timber of humanity no straight thing can ever be made.”

Sounds like what we called a “hug a thug” program rehab program that cities would run to rehab gang members. And once they completed their “rehab” they were released back into the “community “ or hired by cities to work with “at risk youths “. While “working with the youths” they were grooming and recruiting them. Once a gangster always a gangster..once a Jihadist always a Jihadist ☪️?

Being a professional jihadi is easy money, a few moments of terror and the rest of your needs can be supplied in return. When business is slow and some entity offers to pay for your “rehabilitation”, all the better. When the money comes again, as it will for Iran’s proxies, it will be more paid adventure for the suddenly relapsed.
It reminds me of a firefighter who said he liked to fight fires during the summer then recycle his tax dollars by going on unemployment in late fall. The jihadis seem to have a version tailored for them.

Bangladesh is one of most countries that you can go drink beers in all resturants almost, But outside of course not. They should hang them from thier bulls?lol.. These stupid damn azz they will never learn it. Why the first place they joined ISIS?
Infidel says
Bangladesh is one of the most underestimated countries when it comes to the threat of jihad. B’cos they broke away from Pakistan on the basis of language, people are under the illusion that islam is unimportant to them, or that they are tolerant. That’s totally false, but it has allowed groups like ISIS to set up centers in Bangladesh, which they can then use as forwarding bases against India. Note that they can’t do it in Pakistan, since India has a watertight border w/ Pakistan
India continues to pretend that Bangladesh ain’t an enemy at its own peril
