My latest in PJ Media:
Now that Congressional Democrats have set the precedent that presidents who are no longer in office can be impeached, in flagrant disregard of the Constitutional provision that one of the consequences of impeachment and conviction is “removal from Office,” impeachment has become not only a weapon of partisan politics and naked vengeance, but a way to correct historical wrongs. What’s more, Trump is being tried for inciting a violent riot by telling demonstrators “to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.” If that will fly, the “high crimes” don’t have to be all that high in the coming trials of former presidents, but there are plenty to go around anyway. Here are the top five presidents who, for the sake of justice and the children, must be impeached now:
- Barack Obama
Yes, there was the tan suit, but that would only be impeachable if Trump wore one like it. In his predecessor’s case, the “high crimes” for which he ought to be impeached are the highest of all: treason. Obama paid $1.7 billion to a regime that requires its citizens to chant “Death to America.” That regime used the money to finance jihad terrorists who want to see America’s destruction and are actively working against American interests. Treason is defined as giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Is there any reason in light of that, other than the Democrats’ hegemony in Washington, that Obama should not be charged with treason?
- Bill Clinton
Slick Willie can and should join Trump in the double impeachment jeopardy club for getting us into the current mess with China. After the People’s Republic stole many U.S. military secrets due to lax Clinton-era security controls, Clinton gave the Chinese even more, including advanced missile technology, allegedly in return for campaign contributions. The Washington Post noted in an editorial that “in the first three quarters of 1998 nine times as many [supercomputers] were exported [to China] as during the previous seven years.”
Yet this was three years after the Chinese spying operation had been discovered, and with no indication that China would not continue to be generally hostile to American interests. That’s a much “higher crime” than telling people to protest peacefully. It was Clinton who paved the way for Beijing Joe and his henchmen….

Five Presidents Who Need to Be Impeached Now
……………
Only President Trump could draw such ire as needed for his being impreached *twice*, including when he has already left office.
Insanely, some pundit (I forget his name) said that all Republicans had to join in voting for impeachment in order ot enable national “healing”. Trump derangement syndrom on steroids…

So glad I clicked “read the rest here”; I was worried “Peanut” brain Carter didn’t make the cut for giving our Canal away to Panama, to be controlled by the CCP.

Dammit!
Just impeach all the past presidents, because not one of them was perfect.
Warren Memlib says
To whom I would add Abraham Lincoln for provoking a civil, aggressive, and in some cases unconstitutional
(such as suspending habeas corpus) war against a number of seceding Southern states for the vague goal “preserving the Union” as well as Woodrow Wilson for taking us into a none-of-our-business European war for another vague goal of “making the world safe for democracy” as well as for the British and French empires.
owensgate says
I’m pretty sure Lincoln exonerated himself by actually saving the Union, whereby we actually were able to WIN the World Wars, because as separate Union and Confederate Nations we would not have been able to rise to the occasion. Your assessment of Wilson is spot on.

Ah…right. How *dare* anyone abolish slavery? Bad dhimmi!

Yes … posthumous impeachment for Lincoln! Forget the Constitution! Full speed ahead!

Here’s an insane story from San Francisco:
“San Francisco school board votes to rename 44 schools, including Abraham Lincoln and George Washington High Schools”
https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/27/us/san-francisco-school-name-changes-trnd/index.html
So now *abolishing slavery* is a bad thing…
And Dianne Feinstein is not leftist enough. She is being “cancelled” for not supporting “cancel culture” enough.

I suspect that if you delve a little deeper you may find that there was very sufficient reason for the U.S. to enter WWI (e.g. Threat to US shipping, the Zimmerman Telegram, the sinking of the Lusitania, etc.).

I seem to recall recently writing something similar on a thread here at JW.
‘o’ for his treason in giving ‘aid and comfort’ to the enemy, iran, when he sent them a plane load of cash which they would use to fund terror, including here.
All the “way back to carter,” I wrote, although, I do not recall which article it was on.
To be sure, most of the presidents I have known anything about could be put on trial for something they should not have done, but it is supposed to be a “high bar”…this “high crimes and misdemeanors.”
All politicians lie, and to me, that is always “high crimes” against all who deserve the Truth.
However, there is not supposed to be a trial if the president…or other executive…is already out of office. Otherwise, any citizen could be tried by the Senate for something the elected decide they just don’t like, or with which the majority disagree.
It’s really too bad that the Founders didn’t write in a part of the Constitution where citizens could have a trial of presidents, senators, reps, etc. when these ones go out of their way to act in a way contrary to the “will of the people” and to do harm…such as ‘o’ did…over and over and which he is doing again through his proxy; and which pelosi, shumer, omar, tlaib, durbin, lehey, etc., have done time and time again.
Because once they are “voted” in…or manage to get in…they do all sorts of damage and yet, get “voted” in again, and again…or somehow buy their way in. and the “people” whom the government is supposed to be “by” and “for” and “of,” are told to vote them out. That is the only tool and sometimes, it’s out of working order.

I’d add a few presidents to the list of presidents to be impeached after the fact to address their crimes:
– FDR for ceding all of Eastern Europe to Josef Stalin, as well as the new deal
– LBJ for the war on poverty, the great society and the Vietnam war
– Bush 43 for including Pakistan in the alliance in the ‘War on Terror’, and ignoring their playing both sides
Eleanor says
— JFK for bonking Marilyn Monroe
James Lincoln says
According to the articles of impeachment, Pres. Trump
“…engaged in high Crimes and Misdemeanors by willfully inciting violence against the Government of the United States, in that: …he reiterated false claims that ‘‘we won this election, and we won it by a landslide’’”
and
“…urged Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to ‘‘find’’ enough votes to overturn the Georgia presidential election results and threatened Mr. Raffensperger if he failed to do so.”
I have read the full transcript of the rally as well as the phone call to Brad Raffensperger.
During the rally, Pres. Trump told his followers to make their voices heard peacefully and patriotically. And Pres. Trump did not reiterate “false claims” about the election. The claims were, taken as a whole, quite accurate. It sounds a lot like the situation now in the UK: if speaking the truth causes a “breach of the peace” then it is illegal.
During the phone call to Brad Raffensperger, Pres. Trump never asked him to do anything illegal. He merely asked him to do his job – and conduct due diligence.
The violence at the Capitol building following President Trump’s rally was horrific but was not directly caused by Pres. Trump.
somehistory says
Mr. Trump is nothing like Jesus Christ, although he may have done his best regarding the unborn in this country and others, trying to help the sick and elderly, etc.
But, the false ‘evidence’ you listed, the fake claims you listed, the entire scenario, is just what happened with Jesus Christ. A fake trial for the purpose of ending a life…Jesus actually dying and Mr. Trump having no further chance of doing what he wanted to do.
All those senators…hired to work for the people, are taking out their hatred against someone they couldn’t control. In Jesus’ case, all those scribes, pharasees, sadducees, and the high priest…there to help the people, but taking out their hatred against someone they couldn’t control.
The root source is the same now as it was then…satan the devil.
James Lincoln says
somehistory,
Interesting – and accurate – analogy, it never crossed my mind…
somehistory says
The ‘trial’ of Jesus even occurred at night…which was illegal.
And the senate wants to try Trump “illegally,” which is what “unconstitutional” actually means.
mortimer says
Thanks to J.Lincoln: Indeed, Pres. Trump made TRUE claims about election fraud and those claims will be vindicated when forensic document examiners scan and analyze the ballot papers, thus proving beyond a reasonable doubt that massive, premeditated fraud occurred.

Hell ya, y’all know there is nothing wrong with having more votes than eligible voters. don’t question 165,000 votes come in and one candidate get 3,000 of the votes. NEVER before has voting been stopped at 10:30 pm and resumed at 3 in the morning. Trust Rarely, the Canadian know it all.
I have worked in Returning offices until 3 in the morning but hey that was when the election was called on Election Day by ELECTION OFFICIALS not by FOX VIEWS.
We all know dead people don’t vote, just relatives, friends, BLM and Antifa. When caught voting for a dead woman, a young girl told me it was not her fault, the old lady, before she died, made her promise she would vote for the left loon candidate.

Correct, E.T.
No “judges” actually heard any of the cases. Every one of them decided not to ‘hear’ the facts to be presented. I believe they knew what they would find and didn’t want to have to say it. It was easier just to say ‘no standing,’ and other dismissive remarks.
Mr. Clarence. Thomas and Mr. Samuel Alito were willing to hear the case brought to them, but were overruled by roberts.
The case the A.G. of Texas, Mr. Paxton, joined by others from many other states, was one with “standing” as all of those legal votes were nullified by PA, GA and the others to do as they did…changing laws when they had no authority to do so, etc. If not for those fraudulent actions, the votes in Texas, Florida, and so many others, would have put Mr. Trump back in the WH. But, again, the ‘judge’ ruled without hearing the evidence.

Joe Biden is an affront and a disgrace as well as a shame to the Office of the American Presidency and should be impeached
This Biden has proven ,first , by his unconscionable vote stealing election fraud in which he schemed with other top ranking Democrats who are much more intelligent than him to have a rigged national election.
To make things even more corrupt and despicable Biden was backed by violent Marxist domestic terror organizations , as Antifa. Likewise, Biden was also backed , the “mullah regime”of Iran and Communist China and Marxist Venezuela.. Those foreign belligerent , hostel governments have no right to meddle and interfere with the November national elections. That Biden went along with all this wickedness is more than proof that Joe Biden should be impeached.
Second, Biden is UnAmerican by his socialist politics and his horrible plain to stop the American/Mexican border security wall from being completed . Likewise, Biden’s bending over backwards to appease and please those in total control and power in Iran. As seen in his restoring that terrible Obama/Iran nuclear “deal.” Furthermore Biden is also the lapdog of Communist tyrants of Red China.
It’s very appropriate , important and necessary that Joe Biden be impeached and then removed from Office.

There is little, if any, doubt that Trump’s actions leading up to Jan 6th both congregated the mob and incited it to violence.
Whether it’s appropriate or not to continue the trial proceedings after he’s left office is another matter — best left to the Courts to determine and not the mob.
Without the rule of law, whether one likes and agrees with decisions or not, leads only to anarchy.

Evidently, the FBI has admitted that the two pipe bombs left near the Capitol building were placed there the day before Mr. Trump gave his speech.
They are still being analyzed for evidence gathering. But, since they were left the ***day before*** Mr. Trump can’t be blamed for “inciting” the mob to leave them there the day after they were left.
