The prejudices in question are those that are presumably held by Catholics, not by Muslims. When is the Islamic community in Poland’s “Day of Christianity” scheduled, so as to “overcome prejudices” against Christianity among Muslims? Of course no such event is planned, or will be planned. The onus is always and everywhere upon non-Muslims to reach out to Muslims and show that they’re not prejudiced, never the other way around, and no one in the world ever seems to notice.
Meanwhile, this meeting included readings from the Qur’an. Here are a few good ones that probably didn’t get read:
Jesus is not the Son of God and belief in the Trinity is “excess”: “O People of the Book! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter anything concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and his word which he conveyed to Mary, and a spirit from him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and do not say ‘Three.’ Cease! It is better for you! Allah is only One Allah. It is far removed from his transcendent majesty that he should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender.” — Qur’an 4:171
And: “It is not befitting to Allah that he should beget a son. Glory be to him! When He determines a matter, he only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.” — Qur’an 19:35
Jesus was not crucified: “And because of their saying: We killed the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah’s messenger – they did not kill him or crucify him, but it appeared so to them; and those who disagree concerning it are in doubt about it; they have no knowledge of it except pursuit of a conjecture; they did not kill him for certain.” — Qur’an 4:157
Those who believe in the divinity of Christ are unbelievers: “They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allah is Christ, the son of Mary.” — Qur’an 5:17 (cf. 5:72)
Christians have forgotten part of the divine revelations they received: “From those, too, who call themselves Christians, We did take a covenant, but they forgot a good part of the message that was sent them: so we estranged them, with enmity and hatred between the one and the other, to the day of judgment. And soon will Allah show them what it is they have done.” — Qur’an 5:14
Those who believe that Jesus is God’s Son are accursed: “The Jews call Ezra a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah’s curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth! ” — Qur’an 9:30
Christians who do not accepted Muhammad and the Qur’an are the most vile of created beings: “Nor did those who were given the Scripture become divided until after there had come to them clear evidence. And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion. Indeed, they who disbelieved among the People of the Book and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the most vile of created beings.” — Qur’an 98:6
Muslims must fight against and subjugate Christians: “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden what has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” — Qur’an 9:29
“Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)
“Polish Catholic Church’s ‘Day of Islam’ seeks to ‘overcome prejudices,’” CNA, January 25, 2021 (thanks to Henry):
The Polish Catholic Church’s annual “Day of Islam” on Tuesday is an opportunity to overcome prejudices, a bishop who oversees Catholic-Muslim dialogue in the country has said.
Bishop Henryk Ciereszko said that the commemoration, on Jan. 26, would help “to overcome aversion and prejudices, to point out what unites Muslims and Christians.”
Ciereszko, the auxiliary bishop of Białystok and the Polish bishops’ delegate for Catholic-Muslim dialogue, noted that the motto for this year’s event is “Christians and Muslims: Protecting Places of Worship Together.”
“It emphasizes the importance and role of those places, the Catholic churches and Muslim mosques, where God is worshiped, prayers are recited, and an encounter with God is experienced,” he said.
The Day of Islam is traditionally celebrated after the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, held on Jan. 18-25. This will be the 21st year that the Polish Church has marked the day, first commemorated in 2001.
Muslims have lived continuously in Poland since the 14th century when Tatars settled in a territory that later became the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. For centuries, the Lipka Tatars’ cavalry regiments fought alongside Polish Catholics in wars….
The program will include the reading of greetings from Catholic and Muslim leaders, as well as passages from the Bible and the Koran. An imam and a bishop will each recite prayers for their respective communities….
jim says
Muslims are of course entitled to cast the first stone, because they are without sin. Christians are sinful and thus should apologize for their prejudices against the peaceful and innocent religion that they continually offend. So everything is as it should be.
Brenda says
This is so ridiculous. Are they going to talk about persecuted and killed Christians in Islamic countries? The Catholic Church is over.
Jon Sobieski says
Is the Catholic Church stupid or malevolent? I used to think they are just stupid priests and stupid Pope and his sycophants are stupid as well. But now I believe that many are evil, evil priests, evil popes, evil bureaucracy that hate Christians. Oh sure they put on an act and have grand rituals, but in their mind, they hate Christ, hate his followers and love Islam, love Mohammad. Sick people. They willingly sacrifice Christians to Islam and make up excuses and lies to keep Islam from being accused. Sick, sick people. Hate them all.
JohnTheRevelator says
In the old days, when Muslims slaughtered Christians in distant lands or during invasions, they’d declare a Crusade and would wipe them out. That is the proper response. Instead now they want to play footsies and paddy-cake with Muslims who only want to strike their necks.
It would’ve been nice if over the centuries Islam had moderated, “chilled out” and became a ‘nice’ religion like Christianity or Buddhism. Instead this wretched ideology is as violent and as deadly as it was 1400 years ago. The only solution for Islam is to eliminate it the way Nazism largely was.
Until we non-Muslims smarten up and learn this basic lesson, we’ll keep losing to Islam until it is too late to fight back and they have the upper hand, then western civilization will be gone forever. This isn’t a joke we’re fighting for our survival and our future. Given all this cowardice, stupidity and capitulation in the West, we in the 21st century will be defeated by low-IQ barbarians who are stuck in the 7th century.
Lion heart says
Brenda : you’re right ! Will he for example talk about the persecution of Iraqi Christians by Islam for the last 14 centuries especially after the fall of Saddam’s bloody regime?? and I am a Canadian Christian guy myself originally from Iraq.

‘Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)
This profound quote is an example of the proposition that thrilled and inspired me in 1992 and ever since, “Wisdom is all around us, in many places. The challenge is to hear it, distinguish it from error and deception which are present in all human endeavors, and put it to work in our lives.”
mortimer says
Wise words, indeed. ‘Grant me the wisdom to perceive wisdom and discern error.’
Frank Anderson says
Mortimer, I hope you remember the story of my first ever visit to a Jewish Temple. The Rabbi in pre-service Torah Study spoke 3 basic statements that have inspired me ever since. 1 Wisdom is its own authority without regard to location or source. 2. Wisdom is all around us: The challenge is to hear it and distinguish it from error and deception. 3. ASK all questions repeatedly. The answer comes back a little better each time, but never in this lifetime, perfectly. He added his candid view (I sincerely appreciate candor) that converted Jews are second class. I learned the truth of that statement. I still treasure his teaching and guidance.

If the last bastion of collective sanity in the West, i.e., Eastern Europe, is gone, then the West in toto is surely a goner.
I feel as though I am living in a continual nightmare. The greatest civilization in history, Western Civilization, is now the one civilization that is committing collective suicide in the name of two monumental errors, Islam and Western Leftism, respectively the oldest totalitarian ideology still around and the newest totalitarian ideology developed by the lesser portion of our species in our era.
How can I not conclude that man is a collective idiot? Brilliant here and then again, for instance briefly in ancient Athens and early America, but overall a monumental disgrace.
Do I still hold out hope? Yes I do. But this hope is fading fast. Very fast.
I will never personally give up, and look upon those who defend Islam, Western Leftism, and those who “actually” voted for Joe Biden as fools or worse, but so much of the world in our era appears replete with “fools or worse.”
It’s a rearguard battle I and so many others fight. Perhaps we shall prevail, but right now matters look extremely bleak. I mean if Poland is gone, what is not gone?

Granted, Bishop Henryk Ciereszko is entirely clueless in regards to islam, but Poland’s citizens as a whole are not.
Poland’s President since 2015, Andrzej Sebastian Duda is very solidly conservative and staunchly anti-muslim migration.
As long as the Law and Justice party stays in power, Poland is safe…

The main risk is the government changing at some point – especially as right now, they seem to be doing everything possible to turn people against them.

Another foolish human to be put on the list for stupidest person of the year award.
The Bible makes clear that good and evil do not mix. Jesus said that “rotten trees produce rotten fruit” and that we would “know them” by this fact. He said, “Do not give what is holy to dogs, nor throw pearls before swine.” He said that many would say, (in the day of Judgment) “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and perform powerful works in your name” and He “will confess to them, I never knew you. Get away from me you workers of lawlessness.”
The Apostle Paul said not to have a sharing with “darkness” nor sit for a meal at the “table of demons.”
There is absolutely no excuse for any person who claims to be a servant of Christ to ignore these…and so many other verses…in order to signal how very wonderful they are…that they can hold up a white flag in surrender to the children of satan the devil.
One does not allow their home to be overrun with filth, rats and other unclean animals to come in and eat, in order to show they are friendly to the environment and kind to animals. To do so would be endangering their own lives.
And that is what these idiots are doing…endangering their physical lives, and the spiritual lives of others, as well as themselves.

It is well known that the Vatican helped some Nazi war criminals to escape the tribunal at the end of the war which I find hard to forgive even though I’m not Jewish.
gravenimage says
Greg, the Catholic Church also saved more Jews from the Holocaust than any other body.
gregbeetham says
Yes I would acknowledge that as very true, the church issued replacement Identifications so that many could escape the persecution by the Nazis, in the order of thousands I believe. In each case though whether escaping Jews or escaping Nazis I think the Vatican was handsomely rewarded by the grateful escapees.
gravenimage says
Greg, many of those saved did later make donations to the Church. The implication that they only helped those with deep pockets who could offer bribes is *not* borne out, though. Many helped were children.
gregbeetham says
Perhaps I’m being a tad harsh where it comes to the assistance given to the Jews and maybe the Vatican did do altruistic work in that regard, but some historians have said that the escaping Nazis traded stolen treasures in exchange for their passage, not that that would be anything unexpected from such lowlifes but I would look askance at the Vatican.

lol, see how the catholic church bends its knees for totalitarian ideologies. but doesn’t even recognize ancient religions like Buddhism or Hinduism.catholic church bows down to power. maybe Islam reminds them about the times when Christianity was similar to Islam.
gravenimage says
Christianity was never similar to Islam. Christianity does not teach violence as Islam does.
gregbeetham says
That’s true Gravenimage but Christianity has run off the rails in the past, burning people at the stake, torturing people and killing people for blasphemy or heresy etc. so Christianity doesn’t have a clean slate historically speaking, but curiously enough nowadays seem to be willing to toady up to Islam which is clearly a Satanic pagan cult that rejects and slanders the Gospel.
Jim says
It does seem to me that not all Christians and churches have a record of doing bad things, and the teachings of Jesus do not promote bad things. In contrast, The founder of Islam did encourage doing bad things, the scriptures of Islam do this, and over 1400 years many, although not all Muslim groups have tended to do bad things to others. And in the present it seems that Christians are generally not preaching, condoning and encouraging members to do bad things. So, somehow there still seems to be differences between the two religions. But I could be wrong. It does seem that appeasement is the order of the day in many Christian churches and countries.
gregbeetham says
Of course I’m not accusing all Christians but Christianity does have a spotty record even in the heartland of Christianity in Europe of doing terrible things contrary to the Gospel and the teachings of Jesus Christ, and we should acknowledge that because they are part of our history. (humans are fallible)
Sure the cult of Satan promotes conquest, slavery and murder (and deceit and lying) as fundamental operational principals using the perfect example of the despicable Muhammad as a guide, that is or should be common knowledge but many in the establishment like to promote a false image of Islam, possibly to try to excuse their previous ridiculous whitewashing of it and sweep it all under a carpet and out of sight including anyone who calls them out on it.
Rod says
greg, it’s a sad fact that Christians have been killing each other, and killing non-believers, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Mahrattas, Zulus, Swahilis, Maoris, Tasmanians, black pagans, etc, etc, for a couple of thousand years.
And with the assistance of high explosives, atom bombs, napalm, Agent Orange, carpet bombing, rockets and missiles, things have arguably got worse rather than better. The Inquisition was just one short ugly interlude in a chronology of bloodshed.
Probably less embarrassing to focus on the evils of islam, exclusively.
gregbeetham says
Well ok I’ll allow that Christianity has run off the rails in the past and temporarily forgot the teachings of Jesus here and there but most of those indiscretions you mention weren’t done in the name of Christianity primarily.
You have to take on board that humans are fallible and earlier evolving cultures didn’t operate with an advanced social philosophy so you need to award certain allowances as to what they were dealing with, many of those cultures you mention were far from idyllic themselves.
And you have to acknowledge that Christianity for hundreds of years had to contend with the barbarity emanating from the onslaught of Islam so they had excellent teachers, sooner or later despite the noble intentions one has to face the fact that you are in a battle for survival (the Muslim horde at the gates of Vienna for example).
gravenimage says
Ah, yes–how *dare* the filthy Westerners have dared defeat Fascism? We know that “Rod” is terribly upset.
gravenimage says
Greg, Christianity has a two-thousand+ year histiory. Of course Christians have done bad things.
But Christianity itself has never taught violence–would that we could say the same about Islam. And Jesus was not violent–whereas the “Prophet” of Islam was a violent warlord, pedophile, slaver, rapist, and mass-murderer..
Rod says
Christians, it seems, can kill, worldwide, on a grand scale, but if it’s not in the name of Christianity, and the victims were from non-idyllic cultures, and if the atrocities were committed by humans who were fallible and from earlier evolving cultures, and had allowed themselves to be “taught” by Islamic barbarity, then we should not condemn them.
Whereas, when it comes to Muslims, there’s no excuse.
I’m sure the great historian who leads you would be impressed with your thinking greg. I’m not.
By the way, I overlooked some victims of the Christians’ “pardonable” bloodshed. How about the Afghans, Arabs, Mohawks, Apaches, Aztecs, Incas, many of whom fell under Christian swords, bullets or bombs? There are many more, but you get the point I’m sure.
Movies years ago showed me Christians “battling for survival” in the wild west. It seems they were successful. Those barbarous redskin savages have disappeared. Mostly dead. Just as brave soldiers have “battled for survival” against Indians in India, against Africans in Africa, against Aztecs in Mexico, and Vietnamese in Vietnam. Not like the gates of Vienna. Christian hordes seem to stage their battles for survival in other people’s countries. All quite pardonable, I suppose, whatever the body count.

Again with the ‘Christian’ motif but with no evidence that any of it was conducted under the banner of Christianity, even the conquistadores were plundering on behalf of the Spanish monarchy not under the auspices of the church, and BTW you do realize that most of those you mention, if not all of them, invaded the territories they occupied and committed genocide themselves, you seem to think they evolved there in-situ and are blameless.

The true purpose of the Bishop’s special day? As I said, it’s obvious. (Unless, perhaps, your reasoning powers are permanently incapacitated by bigotry. Not my problem).

gravenimage says
“Rod” has said before that opposing the horrors of Jihad terror makes you a “fraud”. *Ugh*.
gregbeetham says
Yes it seems he thinks it is fraudulent to oppose the random murdering of non Muslims for no valid reason that makes sense.
According to some Jihadists it doesn’t even matter if Muslims are accidentally caught up in the mayhem because they will have died in the cause of Islam and will be assured of a place in Jannah, which should give some indication of the degree of insanity involved.
Pray Hard says
It’s irrelevant what the bishops true intentions are, even though they’re little but propagandizing his flock.
gravenimage says
The idea that taking issue with pandering to a violent creed is “hate speech” is grotesque–but what else would one expect of “Rod”?
And how is “Bishop Ciereszko’s true intention…the very opposite of Spencer’s clumsy distortion”? Is he pretending that the Bishop is calling out Islam’s violence? What rot.

Overall the Democrats care more about demonizing conservatives than anything else. Many of these reports confirm that there has not actually been any specific threat.

How would you possibly “confirm” that there hasn’t been a threat?
There have, of course, been messages intercepted about threats. Congress members have also received threats. (As you certainly must know.)
But I ask again, how could you “confirm” that there has not been a threat?
“Reports” “confirm”?
Garbage! Lies! As usual. So tedious.
gravenimage says
There have been many cases recently of pundits hyperventilating over such matters as the fact that it is possible to purchase national guard uniforms, implying that this was a direct threat to the inauguration. When asked by the interviewer, it turned out there was no such specific threat.

Muslims are required to HATE KAFIRS AND THEIR KUFR (wrong beliefs) and to SHOW HOSTILITY TO THEM. (Doctrine of Al Walaa wal Baraa).
HATRED directed from Muslims towards the dirty KUFAAR is a cardinal virtue in Islam … but the uninformed Polish church leaders haven’t studied Islam.
The Polish church leaders are CULPABLY NEGLIGENT. They did not study Islam’s ‘essential’ doctrines, before speaking about Islam.

What the priest says it’s irrelevant. Actions of Islam speak for themselves. And poles take actions and facts about Islam’s more serious than the crap that’s is told to everyone by media and apologists. My friends, my coworkers, my family all say the same thing. Stay away from Islam. People of Poland will rather die and fight than submit to cult of Islam and their fake prophet. Have a great day.

John, I doubt that I am alone in praising your comment. There is one detail I ask you to consider.
If you have not seen the movie Patton starring George C. Scoot, please try to watch at least the opening few minutes where he speaks before an audience, what is probably a combination of several speeches General Patton made. The reason for my request is the statement, “No poor dumb bastard ever served his country by dying for it. He served his country by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his.”
There is a range of estimates of the number of people who have been killed by islam in 1400 years. It varies by who is counting and where they look. At a minimum the number is 250 million, but may be as high as 1000 million (a milliard in some countries and billion in others). Too many people have died resisting islam. Consider the alternative.
I wish you, your country and your leaders well and the greatest success.

Thank you for the encouraging comment. I have a very, very good friend who was native to Poland, but came here last century…not knowing a word of English, but with a great kindness of heart and a willingness to work hard and learn. He worked hard at learning the language and the ‘culture’ of America, as well as earning money to pay his way and help his family back home.

Fortunately most Poles, even devout Catholics, won’t let this initiative affect them, for one second.
This is a country, where the opposition leftists on the streets refer to the “far-right” governing party, PiS, as “Pislam”… Their charge (obviously BS) is, that the government are turning Poland into a theocracy like Iran, and are keeping too close to autocrats like Erdogan.
And the opposition to Islam only grows, the further right you go…

Just another Polish joke in bad taste. Islam won’t change its ideology or hate for Catholic’s just because we hold a day of islam. That day of islam should be teaching us of the dangers of the migration invasion of our christian countries by islam. Islam teaches a doctrine of hate, enslavement and the killing of non-islamic people in its Quran and Mosques.

I pray to God that this man is the exception and not the rule. But surely someone from the Roman Catholic Church should have schooled him.

“Christians, it seems, can kill, worldwide, on a grand scale, but if it’s not in the name of Christianity, and the victims were from non-idyllic cultures, and if the atrocities were committed by humans who were fallible and from earlier evolving cultures, and had allowed themselves to be “taught” by Islamic barbarity, then we should not condemn them.”
I already acknowledged that earlier European cultures occasionally did terrible things but not necessarily in the name of Christianity on every occasion.
“Whereas, when it comes to Muslims, there’s no excuse”.
Do you know anything about the expansion of Islam and the motivation of it?
It should be illegal to be so ignorant.
“I’m sure the great historian who leads you would be impressed with your thinking greg.
All quite pardonable, I suppose, whatever the body count”.
You do realize that most of those you mention, if not all of them, invaded the territories they occupied and committed genocide themselves, you seem to think they evolved there in-situ and are blameless.
