Trump’s Middle East approach was to isolate the Iranian regime and work with Gulf nations that were more friendly to the West, including those willing to either normalize relations with Israel or even to consider doing so.
Under Joe Biden, America is viewed as a pushover kaffir nation that will bow to the Iranian regime and reenter the nuclear deal, which would result in the removal of sanctions and massive funds flowing into the coffers of Iran, enabling its regional and global ambitions, a reborn Persian Empire.
With a global shift brought on by the incoming Biden administration, new anti-West alliances are being strengthened. Qatar is state sponsor of terrorism and a Muslim Brotherhood-supporting nation, which now seeks Iran as as ally.
Trump favored Saudi Arabia and formed an alliance with it against Iran, as he did with other Gulf nations, in full recognition of how dangerous Iran is.
This latest move by Qatar — encouraging diplomacy with Iran — presents a contradiction to its earlier move on January 6, drawing closer to Saudi Arabia to confront the Iranian threat:
Ending the three-year-old embargo, Saudi Arabia and three other Arab states have restored the diplomatic ties with Qatar, said the Saudi foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt had cut ties with Qatar in July 2017, accusing it of supporting terrorism.
At the time the Qatar blockade was lifted, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman stated:
There is a desperate need today to unite our efforts to promote our region and to confront challenges that surround us, especially the threats posed by the Iranian regime’s nuclear and ballistic missile programme and its plans for sabotage and destruction.
“Qatar calls on Gulf nations to engage in diplomacy with Iran,” Al Jazeera, January 19, 2021:
Qatar is urging Gulf nations to enter into a dialogue with Iran and has offered to broker negotiations after a three-year blockade on Doha was recently removed by its Arab neighbours.
Qatar, which shares a major gas field with Iran, has for years called on Gulf Arab states to enter talks with Iran, which they accuse of fomenting unrest in the Middle East, accusations Tehran denies.
Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani told Bloomberg TV in an interview broadcast on Monday that his government is “hopeful that this would happen”.
“We still believe this should happen. This is also a desire that’s shared by other GCC [Gulf Cooperation Council] countries [for talks with Iran],” Sheikh Mohammed said.
Iran’s arch-rival Saudi Arabia has not publicly indicated any willingness to engage with Iran.
Instead Saudi Arabia insisted this month’s rapprochement with Qatar meant the Gulf family would be better able to combat “the threats posed by the Iranian regime’s nuclear and ballistic missile programme”.
Commenting separately on potential US-Iran negotiations now that the Trump administration is on its way out, Doha’s foreign minister said Qatar would facilitate those discussions if asked and support whoever is chosen to do so.
“We want the accomplishment, we want to see the deal happening,” he said of potential talks between Washington and Tehran. “Wherever it is, whoever it is conducting this negotiation, we will support them.”
New US diplomacy
The comments come a day before President-elect Joe Biden is to be sworn in at the White House replacing President Donald Trump. The newly elected leader already promised to return to the negotiating table with Iran, marking a change of tone in US diplomacy in the region….

On his first 2 days he is working on destroying and weakening us. Destroying the Middle East agreements and courting Iran again. We DON”T WANT THIS FOR OUR COUNTRY and HE MUST BE STOPPED!!!

Teleprompter Joe and Sleepy Joe and Basement Joe will be viewed by foreign leaders as ‘PUSHOVER JOE’.

Qatar asks?? No way. People do know what Qatar has been up to, right? So called intelligence must know. Anything Qatar says in this issue should be ignored/condemned.
US is only thinking of Money profits when it comes to Qatar.

Things have to go the Supreme court immediately.
Rob Porter says
jueonly – you have got to be kidding! The Supreme court is now thoroughly compromised, poorly-led garbage. America is dead in the water, its FBI, CIA, DoJ utterly compromised and treacherous, and in the pocket of the left. The military is pathetic, those blubbering American sailors captured by the Iranians instead of fighting, said it all. Time and again we see that the generals are liberal or stark left, Stanley McChrystal the latest revelation.
Rob Porter says
Julie – Stopped, but how? Who could lead the effort? America’s courts, not least the now disgusting Supreme Court are politicized and corrupt to the core. The FBI, DoJ and CIA are now utter rubbish. The left has planned and plotted long and hard while conservatives slept or allowed the rot to set in instead of fighting them from the outset.
Regarding the agreements with Israel, here we go – as I suspected – already a crack has developed. When the peace agreements came into place I was tempted to suggested to an Israeli friend ‘Enjoy it while it lasts’ and here already Qatar wants to ‘negotiate’ with the world’s premier exporter of terror, a country run by raving Muslim lunatics. When you’ve got no morals – and Islam does not have a moral code – you don’t care about savagery and endless murder of Iran’s citizens, so negotiating with trash is very easy.
And now that America has an Administration that is devoid of morals, a CIA Director, an Obama man who likes the disgusting Muslim Brotherhood and led Obama’s nuclear negotiations with Iran. So, watch America fall over itself placating Iran. Get one thing clear, America through the ascendency of Joe Biden and his mob of socialist and communist liars and traitors, is now devoid of wisdom, foolish, compromised and corrupt, in which good is evil and evil is good. Under Biden the values that made America great are gone. Just look at and consider Biden’ himself, a man of low moral character, his cabinet and senior position appointees. They are pitiful, low-grade and some utterly foolish human beings. And this is now America’s leadership.
As Robert Spencer likes to say, ‘What can go wrong?’
terry sullivan says
qatar needs to be treated like iran–hopefully israel will sort both
Infidel says
Qatar and Turkey, both! Pakistan too!
mortimer says
Bribery is normative Islam and Joe will take the baksheesh. You heard that here.
Infidel says
If Trump does ever return as president, I hope that this time, he either leaves out Jared and Ivanka, or that they decline to rejoin the government. While Jared did a good job on the peace plans (although he was reportedly against moving the embassy to Jerusalem), he has also done things like getting Trump to pardon 2 rappers who abused him in the past, and staying away from Twitter alternatives like Parler or Gab, and trying to work out a deal w/ Qatar. Trump’s own ‘rogue’ statements criticizing Qatar and supporting Saudi Arabia, were right, and the State Department of Mike Pompeo deserves the blame for trying to accommodate Qatar
Now, Qatar is gonna try and bridge the differences b/w US and Iran, and once US does that, the Saudis will be in a tougher spot, particularly w/ their improved relations w/ Iran. Which of course works well for the likes of Ilhan and the Jihadist caucus in Congress
GreekEmpress says
I agree. Ivanja and Jared should have stayed home. Nepotism is never a good optic.

OLD GUY says
Somebody please explain to me what the gain is from bringing islamic followers to America. Diversity is not an except-able reason, that’s like letting the fox in the hen house, you know the fox is going to kill the chicken not baby sit them.
From what I can see happening in Europe the large number of muslim/islamic migrants that they have allowed to flow in has cost them a huge amount of money to support. On top of that these migrants have no appreciation for the assistance they are provided nor do they want to become part of the host countries society or culture. It is also evident that a high number of violent terrorist attacks are associated to these migrants along with daily attacks on E.U. citizens.
Biden’s first responsibility to the American people is safety, he has already shown that the safety of American citizens is not his priority. Opening the borders to muslim countries is inviting the enemy to infiltrate our country. Biden should be impeached for failure to protect America and his inability to do his job. There is nowhere in the Constitution that guarantees we have open borders, or have to allow anyone entry to this country.
