Biden is coming in. The pressure is off. Time for the mullahs to flex their muscles.
“Middle East: Dozens of American bases are ‘targeted’ by Iran,” by Boyko Nikolov, BulgarianMilitary.com, January 9, 2021:
BEIRUT, (BM) – Dozens of American bases located in various parts of the Middle East are at the forefront of the Iranian military and could be attacked. Retired Lebanese General Amin Mohamed Hoteit expressed this opinion in an interview with the Tasnim news agency. According to the general, 65,000 US troops stationed at 54 military bases are under daily threat from Iranian strikes.
Amin Mohamed Hoteit is a former brigadier general in the Lebanese forces. He is currently a lecturer at a Lebanese university. According to him, Iran has shown opportunities to attack military bases in the Washington area after the attack on the Ain Al-Assad airbase located in Iraq.
The fact that Iran has managed to strike a base of this size (Ayn al-Assad – ed.) only shows that the Islamic Republic has its operational capabilities to carry out other similar attacks against other military bases, the former brigadier general said in an interview.
Amin Mohammed Hoteit believes that American soldiers there already have “planted fear” in their heads after the Ain Al-Assad airbase attack. This fear is causing by the realization that the American soldier can not always react, despite the weapons equipment. According to the general, a vital role in the successful attack on the airbase plays the decision to fire missiles from Iran.
Speaking again about the fear of American soldiers, Hoteit stressed President Trump’s political speech. The US president promised security after the assassination of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, but the Pentagon had not provided such protection, Hoteit said. “Tehran has military capabilities and potential that could successfully use to accurately defeat any American target, despite the” excellent “American air defense systems,” the Lebanese brigadier general concluded….

Regardless of what our stance is on Iran, we don’t need to have all those troops there. Iraq is now a functional country (as much as can be expected from an Arab muslim one), Syria is stabilizing, Lebanon is struggling, Israel is improving relations w/ some Arab countries, but still wary of others (like Qatar, Kuwait, Yemen)
Our troops don’t need to be there. If we do a deal w/ Iran like Biden wants, they have no business remaining there, since everything would ostensibly be hunky dory. If we have friction w/ Iran, then too just leave them surrounded and not let up on the sanctions. Either way, our troops don’t need to be there
Of course, since Biden is most likely Mr Status Quo, chances are that all our troops that are scattered over 150 countries worldwide will remain there, w/ no use to us, aside from debt financing that we’re just too addicted to

The pentagon is looking to purge the military of all those right wing conservative whites who love the Constitution more than the pentagons foreign interventions. OK, I get it, “management hates me and those like me. The fate of the troops overseas is in the hands of democrats now. I’m sure they have the best interests of the troops in mind. But never forget, paraphrasing John Kerry, you know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in one of these 54 (150) countries.

The issue is that the bulk of the military leadership, irrespective of their race, is Neocon: they support being in all those places b’cos they are on the boards of companies like Lockheed-Martin, Boeing, McDonnell Douglas et al. They can’t just sit on those boards doing nothing: they have to enable relationships for the company, and that’s what they do by getting contracts approved by the DoD. That keeps the cash flow alive to the companies, and thereby to them
Truth be told, even if we withdrew all troops worldwide back to America, we’d still need a powerful military for the same reason that every locality needs a police force: we wouldn’t just get rid of it (agreed that it’s a bad analogy given that the Dems are anti-cop but pro-military). However, it doesn’t necessarily follow that all the contracts that these military-industrial corporations get would still be there, which is why they hire those generals, especially retired ones, to their boards, almost like senior level sales reps. And the generals have to keep the contracts live, and so they push for keeping troops in bizarre places around the world. That’s why we have our troops spread out all over the world, almost like a jobs program for other countries

Establishment dems pretend to be anti police but the event at the capitol proved otherwise. You cannot be anti police and then scream, help, police! Their constituents are anti police and are demanding the police be de-funded and those mobs are not going to stop. Any deviation from their wants and desires will be met with more and more violence. Interesting times ahead, lots of rocks on both sides being overturned exposing many for what they really are. I have read that many people are despondent but I am not. I believe all of what is going on is spiraling out of establishment control. They were put in to place now lets see them rule their angry mobs
I cant help but think that a quote from a movie is echoing in their minds, “This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we’ll be lucky to live through it.”
To differing extents, it already is, on both sides. Glad I’m not establishment.

Infidel,
Excellent analysis, my compliments.
As I’ve said before, Pres. Trump is hated by the Left, mainstream media, big tech, RINOs, the Deep State etc., mostly because he had decided to “take on” and attempt to fix things in this country that were *not* supposed to be fixed.
And this includes endless wars – and policing the world with our military.
To plagiarize – and slightly modify- a popular song from 1966, “He fought the swamp and the swamp won…”

Agreed! We should not have any boots on the ground in ANY Muslim countries. Wasting American lives, limbs, and treasure trying rebuild or stabilize Muslim nations is idiotic in the extreme! Our goals regarding the Muslim world should be to contain it and weaken it, period. Any interactions we need to have with Muslim countries can be carried out via airstrikes, naval bombardments, Predator drones, and Tomahawk cruise missiles.

Spot on, Savvy Kafir.

“Teheran has military capabilities that could defeat any american target despite the excellent American air defense system : Is that really so ?
I don’t see how this is possible after all the sanctions and the unofficial Israeli strikes and the Iranian economy on a free fall .
And even if Iran succeeded in harming some of the america targets , they must be aware of the fact that they could not withstand the full american wrath descending on them afterwards.
Westman says
You can be certain, after the former missile attack by Iran, the coordinates and visual maps of Iran’s more important infrastructure are indexed, ready for loading into US missiles at a moments notice if not already loaded.
Khamenei will test the Biden Admin.

At least a similar lesson from history can be found in Neville Chamberlain’s delusion of his magic and majestic power of persuasion. Because he could not dream of another war did not mean that others were similarly inhibited. The result of his weakness can be found very quickly. Why again?
Westman says
A Lebanese General who couldn’t secure his country from Hezbollah has the military acumen to predict that the ME US bases could not resist an attack by Khamenei and would be defeated in spite of the US Air Force capabilities?
What is this fellow drinking in his retirement? Has he actually seen the sad state of Iran’s airforce? Does he think Iran’s missiles could stop a hundred cruise missiles sent to Tehran’s infrastucture, the missile industries, and to the regime? What does he think would happen to the Fordow enrichmen plant?
Obviously he is not thinking, he’s just a remote parrot for Khamenei and is connected to Hezbollah at the wallet. It’s just more noise from a frightened evil regime; hoping Biden will be a passive leader.
It’s a confused strategy – claim victimhood one day and claim to be the invincible foe on another.

Hoteit is a shite Muslim. As an ex-army general, he is intelligent enough to know the consequences of an Iranian attack on American targets, anywhere!
His speech is NOT meant to address the American public, it is a way to scare Lebanese Christians who would rise against Hizballa if given enough American support.

Could be, Tony.

No worries here. Biden will no doubt hire Hillary Clinton to protect US citizens everywhere.
