My latest in PJ Media:
Joe Biden had barely been in the Oval Office long enough to exile the Winston Churchill bust yet again when he repealed the notorious “Muslim Ban,” and so now Americans can rest easy. We have repudiated one of the hallmarks of the Bad Orange Man’s administration, put “racism” and “Islamophobia” behind us, and resumed our role as a refuge for the tired, the poor, the woke masses. And so as a glorious new multicultural era dawns in America, after a four-year-long speed bump, will come the reminders that virtue-signaling is never a risk-free proposition.
For besides cementing Old Joe’s role as the errand boy for his party’s ascendant hard-Left wing, that was all the repeal of the “Muslim Ban” was: virtue-signaling. The executive order his handlers had ready for him to sign on Wednesday made that clear. “Beyond contravening our values,” it said, “these Executive Orders and Proclamations” — that is, the ones instituting the bans – “have undermined our national security. They have jeopardized our global network of alliances and partnerships and are a moral blight that has dulled the power of our example the world over. And they have separated loved ones, inflicting pain that will ripple for years to come. They are just plain wrong.”
That “moral blight” bit is the key, as it would be hard for Biden’s handlers to whisper into his earpiece a coherent argument for how a ban on travel from such upstanding members of the international community as Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Yemen, North Korea, Venezuela, Nigeria, Myanmar, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Sudan and Tanzania undermined, rather than strengthened, national security.
But even the “moral blight” business runs into a major problem: there never really was a “Muslim Ban” at all. From beginning to end, that was just propaganda designed to smear Trump as a racist (even though Islam is, contrary to popular belief, actually not a race), bigoted, “Islamophobe.” It had no basis in reality. For as you may be aware, North Korea, Venezuela, and Myanmar are not actually Muslim countries at all. Eritrea has about a fifty percent Muslim population. Tanzania is about 35% Muslim.
What’s more, the world’s largest Muslim populations are (in descending order) in Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Egypt, Iran, Turkey, Algeria, and Sudan. Iran, Nigeria and Sudan are the only ones on the “Muslim Ban” list. If Trump had really wanted to bar Muslims from entering the United States, he would have banned travel from Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Egypt, Turkey, and Algeria. He made no attempt to do so. If he had intended to impose a “Muslim Ban,” barring travel from North Korea but not Pakistan was a remarkably inefficient way to go about it.
What led to the grouping of countries in the Trump “Muslim Ban” was not that they were Muslim at all. The travel bans were on countries that could not or would not provide adequate information about who was entering. It was a national security move from start to finish. But now Obama’s dotty old puppet and his handlers have made sure that any consideration of national security issues in connection with mass migration will be dismissed as “racist” and “Islamophobic.”
And so now the reminders of why we needed Trump’s travel bans will start coming. Here is a preview…
There is more. Read the rest here.

BIden removed the greatest symbol of the struggle against fascism from his office.
You would think Biden would have been one of the Dems in 1940 who didn’t want to fight Hitler.

The Churchill bust was a constant reminder of how small and insignificant a man biden has always been compared to Churchill. He couldn’t stand that bust sitting there staring at him.
gravenimage says
Yes–Biden removing the bust of Churchill as his boss Obama did is appalling.
In fact, he doubled down on it, lecturing people on what the special relationship between the US and Britain is all about. According to him , it is about investments in each others’ economies. Apparently saving the free world and defeating fascism is not on his list…

If biden had been president on Dec 7th 1941 he probably would have retaliated by blowing up the Golden Gate bridge.

biden: O.K. What?
Why do the rich…and the famous…and those rich by being notorious (politicians)…have gates, fences, watch dogs, personal body guards, alarm systems? pelosi wanted machine guns in D.C. last week.
Why do the rich and notorious want to remove any gates, fences, alarm systems, etc., that stand between the rest of the population and moslim terrorists? What is there to gain?

I actually am for ‘re-imagining’ (to borrow a popular phrase) this ban, and completely revisiting the countries affected by it:
– Take out the communist countries in this list – North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela… Their people ain’t a threat to us if they come here
– Take out Burma! I dunno what it is about the DC establishment that to prove that they’re not ‘islamophobic’, they take on countries that do act against their jihadists. Burma has a good reason for expelling the ‘Rohingyas’*, and nothing proves this better than the fact that ALL of their political leaders – be it the ex junta, Ahn San Syu Ki or Dr Thet Thet, the opposition leader – all of them are opposed to the Rohingyas remaining in Burma b’cos they refuse to accept Burmese culture
– Keep most of the remaining countries in, including the ones that are 50% muslim, such as Nigeria, Eritrea, Tanzania
– Add China to this list! Nothing will demolish the argument of this being a muslim ban more than China. And unlike in the case of Venezuela or the other communist countries, Chinese citizens are only allowed to go abroad if they agree to spy on those countries that they go to: that’s required by Chinese law. It’s a perfect reason to ban Chinese from coming here, since it’s hard to know whether a Chinese coming here is a legitimate refugee from communism or a spy masquerading as one
– Add a few countries to this list – Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Malaysia and the Palestinian authority (in other words, people living under the jurisdiction of Hamas or Fatah need not bother).
Call it a security ban – since that’s exactly what it is, and when listing it, put China at the top of the list. Nobody will think of it as a muslim ban. Particularly now, when the Dems are the ones in power
* Incidentally, the technical definition of the term ‘Rohingya’ came from the colonial Brits when they possessed both India and Burma: it very explicitly means ‘Bengali muslim from Chittagong’. It has nothing to do w/ Burma
somehistory says
China is angry with Sweden because the Swedes don’t want to use a telecom service from china….which china uses to spy on whomever uses it.
The chinese are also experiencing a brand new surge in virus cases…hospitals and the hoods around them closed off to the public; children being housed in schools…where they are being crowded in, etc.
So any travelers from there are likely carriers. They are in competition with India to sell …either tests or vaccines…can’t remember what the girl said…she spoke very fast and with heavy accent…to the surrounding nations.
It’s risky to allow any Chinese person in when they travel only with government instructions to get information to pass back.

Check out the official channel for the White House over at YouTube. Almost every video posted there since Biden took office has received the thumbs down in numbers that are at least double the amount of thumbs up …. sometimes much more than double. How is this possible with a guy who received more votes on election day than any other President in history? It’s strange, very strange. Joe is going to have to hire more people to start giving those videos the thumbs up … might be good work for the new and unemployed immigrants.

Not just that, YouTube is now banning some of the ? on the grounds that it’s ‘spam’. How is it spam if a viewer hasn’t typed a word, but just clicked on the ?? buttons, as designed? Maybe YouTube could disable the ? button for all pro-Democrat videos and the ? button for all pro-Trump videos. On a different note, I read on Gab that Instagram is trying to force its members to subscribe to their Biden White House page
I was a subscriber to the White House YouTube channel, but on Jan 21st, I simply unsubscribed. I’ll subscribe again if and when Trump or a Patriot president is there in the White House

Comments disabled in every White House video. That much for liberalism & free speech !!!!!!!!!! The Human Rights videos did the same. And they were criticising the denial of Human Rights to muslims in Kashmir where a genocide & ethnic cleansing of huge number of Brahmins took place resulting in the exodus of half a million of them leaving their ancestral homes as refugees in their own country. Ilhan Omar just brushed it aside with a laugh saying, it was all an “exaggeration”. The venomous Indian Pramila Jayapal also added to the cacophony of repeated village gradma gossip type of the so called debate which was debasing American sophistication & values. Apologies to village grandmas. They do not do it anymore. They have passed it on to the American pseudo Human Rights activists & have become quite civilised.

So Biden is going to make America the moral example of the world again?
“Make America morally Great again.”
Yep. Just thinking back of the morally good old days, not very long ago.
Bomb the shit out of a country, because weapons of mass destruction proof was there, which proof was wrong, but the bombing was morally right, because democracy was built, which appeared wrong, because ISIS was built, that had to be bombed the shit out of, which was morally right…
As far as I am concerned in the real politics of geopolitics there are no morals, and you are morally very wrong if you pretend you are morally right in that context.
b.a. freeman says
Fred, i must agree that moral pretensions in geopolitics are merely political cover for those with the pretensions. war sucks, and innocent people – without exception – always die in war. there is no moral justification for war other than self-defense. a preemptive attack is acceptable if one has *GOOD* evidence for a pending attack, but war should *ALWAYS* the last option; innocent unarmed people *will* die in the war, and in the case of the US, our fellow citizens *WILL* *DIE* fighting the war. all such deaths are horrible, and a nation should only undertake such a project after *serious* reflection. back in (2003?), i foolishly believed that “nation-building” (democracy-building) would work in iraq, because once the people saw that we acted decently towards them, they would, like the people of japan after WWII, come to like us and build a functioning republic of some sort. i had no understanding of islam, nor did i understand the thug culture islam imposes on its adherents, and which it brutally enforces through sharia. thus, i stupidly supported W’s war, even though WMDs were not found afterwards.
some years later, i discovered that the quran is *not* the entirety of islamic scripture, and once i learned about abrogation and the chronology of its “revelations” (not the order traditionally presented in the quran), i began to better understand islam. when i found that muhammed is the al-insan al-kamil (perfect man) and uswa hasana (model of conduct for every muslim male – women don’t count), as “revealed” in some 90+ places in the quran, i set out to learn more about what muhammed did in his life, since the sunnah (“traditions”) of muhammed spell out muslim behavior. after learning that he let contracts to kill those who spoke against him (43, last time i checked), that he called black people raisin-heads suitable only for slavery, that he raped captured women (and little girls), that he traded in slaves and “concubines” (a nice word for women and girls held captive as sex slaves), it dawned on me that because this “perfect man” acted like this, all muslims should act like this as well. it doesn’t matter that lots of other people in the 7th century acted like muhammed; his followers *MUST* do as he did. furthermore, saying anything against muhammed, or even casting him in a bad light, is blasphemy, and the penalty for blasphemy is always death. suddenly, the death cult of islam became apparent in all its twisted evil.
one might argue that preemptively attacking all 56.5 islamic countries of the OIC, then outlawing islam in all of them, and occupying all 56.5 of them for a minimum of 500 years (2000 would be a better bet) to ensure that islam dies might be worth the effort, but i don’t believe for a second that any republic would sign up for that hopeless task. instead, since we have allowed muslims to become citizens, all muslim citizens should be watched in perpetuity, the practice of islam should be severely restricted (renegade flavors of islam like baháʼí could be allowed as legitimate religions), and all non-citizen muslims should be deported to whatever s**thole they wanted. all 56.5 muslim s**tholes should be restricted, although not totally cut off, from any type of intercourse with civilized nations, because some contact allows muslims to see that islam is really a piece of s**t death cult, and some would almost certainly apostatize (and hopefully spread their apostasy).
i don’t expect any change to rationality in the behavior of our ruling elites, because they have been indoctrinated by leftists, who run our educational systems. the elites, who are mostly nominal leftists (or possibly fascists), think that all religions are peaceful but stupid. because they have no intention of becoming the adherents of any religion (because all religions are stupid), they spend little, if any, time learning about any religion, so they have no idea what islam really teaches. i am certain that the hard-core leftists know about the evil of islam, and because of this knowledge, they provide continuing political cover for it. in this way, self-motivated attacks on our culture and people can continue, with no bad reflection on the left, until society begins to buckle and collapse, at which point the left will swoop in and seize power. at least, that’s probably the plan. given the nature of hard-core leftist statements made publicly (!!!) in the past weeks about re-education camps for 75 million americans (trump supporters all), the hard-core must be drooling thinking about seizing power. we’re in for a wild ride, and we have a pretty good chance that civilization will collapse (islamic cultures are *NOT* civilized) and potentially never recover.

When did it become the governments job to encourage illegal migration into America? I thought it was the elected officials of the American governments responsibility to protect and serve the legal citizens who supposedly but them in office. Obviously when you have MILLIONS of ILLEGAL migrants from who knows where in our country, our elected officials have not done their jobs.
When corporate’s can contribute millions to political campaigns they buy power for their benefit. Corporations love cheap labor, so bring in illegal migrants who will work for lower wages. Corporations also get laws changed to favor moving factories offshore to get cheap labor and low import fees for their products. For the Democratic Party this is a win – win situation a high percentage of migrants who become citizens vote Democrat.
The only way America can be for the people will require changes to election laws. Campaign contributions must only come from the people, not corporations, foreigners, foreign Governments or groups and super packs. Limit campaign spending, require voter I.D. and don’t tell me that’s a problem for minorities they have no problem buying beer or smokes which require an I.D., last but not least TERM LIMITS.
The America for the people and by the people has been SOLD to the highest bidders of corporations and the super rich. Our media’s are owned and controlled by this same group.
We have a hard road ahead of us, but it can be done peacefully. And it will benefit everyone.

It was a restriction on travel from countries that are well known terrorist breeding grounds. It is no coincidence that most are Muslim. This jihad jerk mentions poor Islamic countries. Islam is the reason they are poor. There is no Muslim country that would have achieved today’s standard of living if they had tried on their own. Everything they have is the result of the efforts of Western Christians.
