My latest in PJ Media:
The renowned historian H. G. Wells once said of Joseph Stalin, “I like Uncle Joe very much. He’s a great man.” That would be a terrific motto to replace the outmoded slogan of slavery and white supremacy, “In God We Trust,” that is currently emblazoned behind the podium of the Speaker of the House. Now that Stalinist show trials have come to Congress, we all like Uncle Joe very much. Or else. And you have to give them credit: this impeach-a-private-citizen-because-we-hate-him business opens up a whole universe of sparkling new possibilities. Yesterday I offered a list of five presidents who must be impeached now, but that’s just the beginning.
As fifty-five senators are now on record saying that the impeachment of a former president is perfectly constitutional, there is no reason not to extend wokeness back to 1789 and cleanse the ugly blot Leftists think of as our history. Washington? Jefferson? Slaveowners! Impeach them! Andrew Jackson? Trail of Tears. He clearly has to go, too. James K. Polk? Started a war with Mexico when he should have just opened our borders and given all non-citizens the right to vote, free housing, and a COVID-19 vaccine. As Rashida Tlaib would say, Impeach the motherf***er! Theodore Roosevelt? Imperialist! Woodrow Wilson! Racist! Impeach them all! In fact, we must impeach all previous presidents, even Saint Barack the Hussein, for none of them, none at all, were woke enough. Remember Obama’s opposition to gay marriage? They all must go, every one, or Ilhan Omar’s moral superiority will be affronted. That must not be.
Nor do we have to stop with former presidents. Trump is, remember, not president anymore. He is a private individual who holds no office, just like you and me. He is being impeached for being a dictator, telling protestors to proceed peacefully and having them disregard his words and disobey his instruction, which is how people always respond to dictators. So it’s clear that impeachment in today’s woke America is just a tool to get back at those who threaten the hegemony of those in power. We know who the threats are today, and now it’s time to stop them. Impeach Rush Limbaugh! Impeach Tucker Carlson! Impeach Thomas Sowell! Impeach Tom Paine! Impeach your Ma! Impeach your Pa! Don’t have anything on them? Make it up! It worked for Stalin. It worked for Pelosi. It will keep working.
There is more. Read the rest here.

RS, best wishes. Search the term in the US Constitution “bill of attainder”. You might also be interested in the term “corruption of blood”.

They want to keep Mr. Trump from getting his pension as a former president. They are “out for blood” …imo.
Frank Anderson says
S.H. If I had been able to keep my job instead of being fired for refusing to join a criminal conspiracy, I would have a pension right now in the hundreds of thousands a year, and a worth in the millions. Instead, I have Social Security Disability and less than 500 dollars a month starting next year. Tyrants are never satisfied with their destruction and always want more. That is why they must be fought to the finish.
mortimer says
Agree. Biden LOOKS and ACTS like a TYRANT: 1) surrounded by thousands of troops 2) government by decree 3) controls WHAT YOU MAY SAY! 4) controls the media and internet 4) threatens opposition with INCREASED SURVEILLANCE jail for speaking out. 5) preoccupied with punishing dissent, rather than helping citizens.
PS Sad to hear how FA was abused by his employer! Many of us have been in this sinful world. We are called to fight for the justice in our own way. (OOPS! You can’t even use the word ‘fight’ metaphorically, lest it be interpreted as a call for insurrection! See where we are now with the Deceitful Dems!)
James Lincoln says
Frank Anderson,
As of said before, you are a highly intelligent man – with high moral principles.
NO amount of money is worth joining a criminal conspiracy.
You paid a HUGE price but you DEFINITELY did the right thing.
You’ve got my respect…

Frank Anderson, I bought a house and moved to another state. A good friend who is disabled and lives with me came along and now they are trying to take her disability away. We have to look out for each other because the establishment wont. They can all go to you know where.
Frank Anderson says
tg, I could tell another quite similar story; but this is not a place for one-up. Please know I understand betrayal in major terms and agree.
somehistory says
King Solomon wrote, “Money is for a protection.”
We do need it, but without integrity, what do we have?
Jesus said, “You are worth more than many sparrows.”
A person who chooses moral integrity over money, will be taken care of.
Frank Anderson says
S.H., I am still alive and have good friends who have become my family by choice and enough money to pay my way without being a parasite. Many of those who put me here are dead or destroyed by their own actions. The prayer shared by Christians and Jews asks for daily bread, not a lifetime supply all at once. I straddle the fence and have both Christian and Jewish inspirations and friends. Having been stone-cold dead as a slab of meat on an operating table, life is better. There are still good things for us to do, and I mean all of us.
tgusa says
Lost my job over the years numerous times due to circumstances far beyond my control. Never been fired. Never took unemployment.Jjust kept going. I have enough money to weather the livelihood destroying democrat storm but others don’t and I feel for them. Sounds like you and I have and have had similar life experiences in some ways Frank.
I would like to hear your similar stories but I’m sure it would just make me more irritated than I already am.
somehistory says
F.A.
The other part of the verse from King Solomon said, “Wisdom is for a protection, the same as money is for a protection, but wisdom preserves alive its owner. Wisdom is the prime thing. Acquire wisdom and with all you acquire, acquire understanding.”
It sounds as though you have followed that wise advice.
I too have had many ups and downs, and never having an overabundance of anything except trials and problems; (death came close on more than one occasion) but always relying on my Heavenly Father to see me through. Jesus never promised that our lives would be easy, but that He would always be there.
He even warned His disciples, “You will be haled before kings and governors for my sake. Do not concern yourself beforehand with what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given you in that day.”
Frank Anderson says
S.H. on this I think we are in total agreement.

The city attorney is looking to see if it’s legal for him to live there.
Frank Anderson says
S.H. I will never make the claim of being a great attorney. Sidney Powell, Rudy Giuliani, Andrew McCarthy and others make me very small in comparison. I would not be surprised if the city attorney puts himself in a position to repeat Former North Carolina Prosecutor Mike Nifong’s adventure following his illegal prosecution of the Duke Lacrosse Players, removed from office, disbarred, sued, lost, bankrupted, denied discharge of the multi-million dollar judgments obtained by the players, criminally prosecuted and convicted.
Please, take a look at the language of 18 USC Sections 1503, 1505 and 1512. The key phrase is “Any corrupt endeavor [whether successful or not] to harass, oppress or intimidate. . .” a federal victim, witness or party, before, during or after any federal proceeding is a federal crime. I can provide you with a number of cites to support those statements if you have any trouble finding them for yourself. Trump is a federal party in the proceeding of conducting and performing his obligations as President of the United States. Just because he is not presently in office, does not mean his protection has ended. This is patently a corrupt endeavor.

i did read about gov officials doing such being illegal.

And this from the idiot from Seattle…where bm and antifa have taken over:
“Representative Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) Friday on MSNBC’s “Live” said former President Donald Trump was “actively courting a rising of the Confederacy” and “a civil war,” Breitbart reports.
Jayapal said, “We all feel this tension of our colleagues who are continuing to not admit that Joe Biden won the election or continuing to engage with white nationalist extremist groups that were part of the insurrection on the Capitol, are continuing to tie themselves to Donald Trump, the president, who incited the insurrection. The most violent on the Capitol since the War of 1812. the reality is. There are too many members of the Republican Party who are refusing to wear masks, are refusing to go through metal detectors.””
Doing all she can to stir up trouble.
Frank Anderson says
S.H. my petition for a writ of certiorari to the US Supreme Court includes all the cases under 1503, 1505 and 1512, that cover the arguments I described earlier. I have no idea how you would go about obtaining access to the 102 page petition. The case number is 96-501. In 14 years of legal warfare, not one case has ever been cited to refute the cases I cited. I typed every letter of that petition, made 70 copies on a copier sacrificed by one friend, and with the help of another friend bound them and cut them to size, filing them in proper booklet form. It took 12 hours per day, 7 days a week for 7 weeks to accomplish the task, because I did not have the money to hire the work done. It had to be done.
My reasoning and analysis has been supported by a number of lawyers I believe you would find highly credible. ANY CORRUPT ENDEAVOR TO HARASS, OPPRESS OR INTIMIDATE. . .

Most honored GI and many others who write here, please consider the old, very old, admonition to “Ignore it and it will go away.”. This is our “courtroom” to discuss and argue “our” cases and opinions. We do not have the tacit admission rule, unless we wish to, that requires us to respond to nonsense (polite word used out of respect and deference to most of the people reading here in preference to the really rude and harsh words I learned in military school that I would like to use).
Mary and I love to watch Dark Shadows with the frequent use of a dog howling in the distance. It is good for a smile and reminder what sweet music comes from telling the truth. We have more important and productive use of our time and talent than “casting pearls before swine”.

Hi, Frank. I am not replying directly to “Brian Hoff”, who is a Jihadist and a lost cause. I am just exposing his dishonest bs for anyone here who might be interested.
Frank Anderson says
GI, I support you without question. When we disagree, which seems extraordinarily rare, it is the issue only.
I have to resist distractions. All my life I have had a single track mind in the extreme. To do work well, which is my imperative, I must remain focused. Now that I am getting more “experienced” the demand is getting stronger.
This is my way of earning friends. To have friends be one. These fools write here to distract all of us from our work. You remember, according to the first CLE seminar I attended after earning my first license, what we hear first, last and most often. I want you to remember my friendship and support.
gravenimage says
Frank, you are *quite* right–Jihadist trolls are here to distract. My concern is that others who may not be familiar with them may indeed be distracted by them, which I don’t want to see, ergo my exposing them.
But I certainly respect your decision to ignore them.
I think we both have the same general understaning of these trolls, but have just decided to deal with them in somewhat different manners.
Frank Anderson says
GI, your concern is reasonable and justified. Know of my unconditional support.

They threw God “out of office” many years ago. pelosi pretends that she has a favorite Scripture, but there is no such in the Bible. Perhaps it’s in that book of filth that moslims refer to as ‘holy.’
According to the sources Mr. Horowitz listed and quoted in his book, “Dark Agenda,” those who don’t believe in a Divine Being have murdered more people than those who do believe.
If they could hold a trial for our Creator, they surely would do so. If they thought they could attempt a trial, they would be talking about it endlessly.
To “try” a citizen, as the senate…of supposedly ‘elected’ people…is attempting to do is ***illegal*** according to the Constitution they all ***swore*** to uphold.
But what is an oath taken, or a Law, to those who have banished God from their lives and trash His Divine Laws?
Michael Copeland says
“If I take an oath and later find something else better, I do what is better and break my oath”

Does it occur to her that bearing false witness is a mortal sin in Catholic theology?
Geof says
Not very much “occurs” to Nancy .

Probably bearing false witness fine if the victim is Republican–in the “Book of Nancy”, at least…

Why only impeach them after they are elected? In the future, impeach an opposition candidate *before* they are elected…now that we are lawless.

Yeah, if the GOP captures the House and Senate in 2022, we could start w/ Kamala and AOC, then any other potential candidate to succeed Joe – be it Susan Rice, Chuck Schumer, Dick Durban, Gavin Newsome, Andy Cuomo, Chris Cuomo, Chuck Todd, Jake Tapper, Rachel Maddow, Anna Navarro, Joy Behar, Alyssa Milano, Sarah Silverman… the list would go on. In fact, to save time, why not just make a big list and do a batch impeachment of every potential Democrat candidate, making them ‘ineligible’ to run ?

Dictators never build walls. Democrats are building a wall around the capitol but I think they are short sighted on that project. They need to build a surrounding Piranha filled moat outside the wall as well. I see it as more of a cage and I’m hoping it will keep them in but it wont.
I believe the best, but really the only civilized and peaceful way forward is a return to states rights by, as the left loves to say, any means necessary.
gravenimage says
tgusa, dictators sometimes *do* build walls–most infamously, the Berlin Wall. But that was more to keep their own people from escaping than to keep anyone out.

At least, they are claiming to be fearful.
And doing all they can to stir up trouble, to make trouble happen, so they can say they were right all along.
A democrat who lives in D.C. and has a political position there doesn’t like it.
And jayapal is saying that Mr. Trump and his followers are making a “New Confederacy” to take over the country.
mortimer says
Yes! Let’s get this idiots’ game going. First impeach all the dead Republican ex-presidents, then the living ones. Then, they can go after the dead Dem ex-presidents, the ones no one likes. Then, go after the living ones. Then go after all cabinet secretaries and senators. IMPEACH THEM ALL … DEAD OR ALIVE. After all, no one’s perfect.

The Road We Are Traveling, 1914-1942; Guide Lines to America’s Future*
By Stuart Chase (March 8, 1888 – November 16, 1985)
*Glenn Beck states that Franklin D. Roosevelt included many of the ideas from this book in his speeches.
“The Free Enterprise System once we get out of this war (WWII) we will have to change a few things, we will have to change Capitalism and the Free Enterprise System to System X.”
• Strong Central Government
• Strong Executive Arm, stronger than the Legislative or Judicial Branch
• Government control of Banking, Credit and Security
• Underwriting of Food, Medical and Housing
• Deficit Spending to Finance Underwriting
• Abandon Gold for the Managed Currency
• Heavy Taxation of Estates and the Income of the Wealthy
• Youth & People Dedicated to the Government Ideology
From Wikipedia: Free Enterprise into “X”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuart_Chase
On pages 95 and 96 of The Road We Are Traveling, under the heading of “Free Enterprise into ‘X'”, Chase listed 18 characteristics of political economy that he had observed among Russia, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Spain between 1913 and 1942. Chase labeled this phenomenon “… something called ‘X'”. Characteristics include the following:
1. A strong, centralized government.
2. An executive arm growing at the expense of the legislative and judicial arms.
3. The control of banking, credit and security exchanges by the government.
4. The underwriting of employment by the government, either through armaments or public works.
5. The underwriting of social security by the government – old-age pensions, mothers’ pensions, unemployment insurance, and the like.
6. The underwriting of food, housing, and medical care, by the government.
7. The use of deficit spending to finance these underwritings.
8. The abandonment of gold in favor of managed currencies.
9. The control of foreign trade by the government.
10. The control of natural resources.
11. The control of energy sources.
12. The control of transportation.
13. The control of agricultural production.
14. The control of labor organizations.
15. The enlistment of young men and women in youth corps devoted to health, discipline, community service and ideologies consistent with those of the authorities.
16. Heavy taxation, with special emphasis on the estates and incomes of the rich.
17. Control of industry without ownership.
18. State control of communications and propaganda.
Can anyone say “The Great Reset?”
Re or Ra
Re, also spelled Ra or Pra, in ancient Egyptian religion, god of the sun and creator god. He was believed to travel across the sky in his solar bark and, during the night, to make his passage in another bark through the underworld, where, in order to be born again for the new day, he had to vanquish the evil serpent Apopis (Apepi). As one of the creator gods, he rose from the ocean of chaos on the primeval hill, creating himself and then in turn engendering eight other gods.

Set or Seth
Set /sɛt/ (Egyptological: Sutekh – swtẖ ~ stẖ[a]) or (Greek: Seth /sɛθ/) is a god of deserts, storms, disorder, violence, and foreigners in ancient Egyptian religion.[4] In Ancient Greek, the god’s name is given as Sēth (Σήθ). Set had a positive role where he accompanies Ra on his barque to repel Apep, the serpent of Chaos.[4] Set had a vital role as a reconciled combatant.[4] He was lord of the red (desert) land, where he was the balance to Horus’ role as lord of the black (soil) land.[4]

Rod says
“The US could face a heightened threat of domestic extremist violence for weeks from people angry at Donald Trump’s election defeat and inspired by the deadly storming of the US Capitol, the Department of Homeland Security warned on Wednesday.
“Information suggests that some ideologically motivated violent extremists with objections to the exercise of governmental authority and the presidential transition, as well as other perceived grievances fueled by false narratives, could continue to mobilize to incite or commit violence,” the department said in a national terrorism advisory.
Biden’s inauguration last week occurred under heavy security, with more than 20,000 National Guard troops on duty.
The DHS advisory said domestic violent extremists were motivated by issues including anger over COVID-19 restrictions, the 2020 election results, and police use of force.
White supremacist groups have posed “the most persistent and lethal threat” of violent extremism in the United States in recent years, Trump’s acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf told a congressional hearing in September.”
Another so-called expert challenging the unchallengeable (though unsupported by evidence) views of that authority on everything, Robert Spencer, who “just knows” that domestic terrorism means Muslims, Muslims, and more Muslims. We’ve already learned that Spencer knows more about domestic terrorism than the Director of the FBI, or a Commissioner of the NYPD, or than survey results based on extensive collected data. Now the DHS are pretending to have expertise on matters they clearly don’t understand.
When will they ever learn?
Giacomo Latta says
Not atypically Rod cuts his quotation short. It continues:
”But he said the most deadly threats to the United States overall are foreign adversaries, pandemics and national disasters. He also said the government “cannot ignore” anti-government groups, such as antifa, a leaderless coalition of people who oppose fascism but have at times used vandalism and violence to make their points.”
Yes, disingenuous (I hope that word isn’t too big) Rod at work hoping to find some simpletons ready to take the bait. Try a different website, Bozo.
Wellington says
Seconded.
somehistory says
“rod” gets paid when people reply to his lies and nonsense. If no one replied, he wouldn’t get paid. If he wasn’t getting paid, he’d go elsewhere to attempt an argument. He doesn’t expect anyone here to believe what he writes, nor to agree with him.
Infidel says
Yeah, a typical Michael Moore tactic – take things completely out of context, so that he can present a complete illusion as news
Rod says
DHS:
“White supremacist groups have posed “the most persistent and lethal threat” of violent extremism in the United States in recent years, Trump’s acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf told a congressional hearing in September.”
Let’s pretend we didn’t see this bit, shall we?
And let’s ignore the “domestic” part too.
You could call it “Spencerthink”. It works for some, believe it or not.
Infidel says
DHS and FBI are in today’s USA what Cheka and the NKVD were in Stalin’s Soviet Union. ‘Show me the man, and i’ll show you the crime’
Rod says
Hey, Infidel, you’re talking about the world’s greatest democracy, an example to the world of truth, honesty, justice, freedom and human rights. Did that slip your mind, or is “today’s USA” just another version of the USSR?
Or are you just hopelessly confused?
Or can you switch opinions whenever required? (What does Robert want us to think today?)
Infidel says
Rod, unlike you, I shift my opinions about countries when the ground facts about them change. Yeah, the US is still the greatest when it comes to the bill of rights, but that doesn’t change the fact that we have an intel community gone berserk. It’s possible to stand up for what we believe in, while still recognizing that these agencies are no longer institutions of integrity like they were once upon a time, and that there’s a need to thoroughly overhaul it
Rod says
You’re remembering the good old days when J Edgar Hoover ran the place properly. I can’t understand how things could have gone so bad, so fast. All this fake news is part of the problem. Look at those damned journalists who brought dow Richard Nixon.
Infidel says
J Edgar Hoover was a crook, blackmailing politicians so that he could get his way. Mueller and Comey weren’t much different, since they too abused their power. The FBI does need to be defanged
But like I’ve been asking, why do you care, since you don’t live here!
Rod says
The FBI incompetent, DHS corrupt, your health system, always inadequate, dysfunctional and overwhelmed by a pandemic killing more Americans than those of any other nation, your society bitterly divided, the electoral system claimed to be untrustworthy, the media supposedly has lost all credibility, race relations appalling, many living in desperate poverty, the gap between rich and poor wider than ever, action to combat climate change stalled, your international reputation at historic lows, international relations tense in several areas.
It seems that Trump’s four years haven’t been so “Great”. No wonder so many voted for change. I thank them.
Why do I care? I’ve answered that elsewhere.
And, people I love live in your country.
I live in a world made more dangerous by your halfwit ex-president.
I have children and grandchildren who live in that world too.
I am angered by stupidity in high places. There was more than enough of it before Trump.
I and millions of others are entitled to care, though powerless to intervene.

In “Rod’s” world, the United States is hell on earth, and Islam is a model of civilized behavior. Odd that so few are fleeing to Somalia and Yemen…
Rod says
Infidel, ” the US is still the greatest when it comes to the bill of rights,” you tell me.
But not everybody is allowed to vote. What sort of Bill of Rights is that? The “greatest”?
In my backward little country, EVERYBODY CAN VOTE. Yes, EVERYBODY!
I hope and pray that the “greatest democracy on earth” can some day live up to your empty boasts, and let all your people vote. Until then, you like Trump, are bloated windbags.
Martin Luther King called for voting rights, 50 years ago. And was murdered! God bless USA.
Rod says
“In “Rod’s” world, the United States is hell on earth, and Islam is a model of civilized behavior.”
Nobody can beat Pinocchio at what Pinocchio does best. You have to be good at something.
gravenimage says
“Rod” seldom addresses any issues raised. He thinks that calling someone “Pinocchio” or “Gravy” serves in the place of reasoned argument.
Then, his claim that *everybody* votes in his unnamed country is *highly* implausible. Children do not have the vote in most places, nor do those currently in prison or having served time for serious crimes.
Then, Martin Luther King is generaly revered here in the US–including at the governmental level. “Rod’s” implication that he was killed by US officials is *quite* false.
gravenimage says
“Rod” is pretending that the ludicrous show of military force by the Biden administration in DC during the inauguration was proof that conservatives present a danger to the US. Just absurd calumny.
Rod says
“Conservatives a threat”? How absurd. What happened at the Capitol never really happened. I’ve sent my TV off to be repaired. Talk about Fake News!
Fancy sending out 20,000 armed troops for no reason. They must be mad, like those DHS people.
CogitoErgoSum says
Someone is certainly mad … angry too.
gravenimage says
The constant claims that conservatives planned to attack the inauguratiion were baseless. The claim that “this happened” is quite false.
And this was not “mad”–it was deliberately positing anyone who voted Republican as a threat. For Leftists, this is political gold. Then, Democrats have never been shy about spending taxpayer money.
Rod says
History rewritten, almost before it happens. As Infidel points out above, the similarities to the USSR are inescapable.
But even Stalin would balk at disgracing his country in the eyes of the world. 20,000 armed troops to oversee the transfer of power in the world’s greatest democracy (when they knew it wasn’t even necessary?) What a shameful episode. They must be mad.
We do it in a private office. Some fancy words, a sworn oath, no police, no troops, no guns. Just a few photographers. But I live in a backward country, not like yours.

Of course “Rod” doesn’t think that the appalling dictator Stalin disgraced his country in the eyes of the world–as though Stalinism was civilized. Just disgusting.
Rod says
Ah, there you are, Pinocchio!
gravenimage says
Note that “Rod” will not address what he said here at all–no surprise there.
Rod says
Having seen, and heard, some live footage of events at the Capitol on January 6th, anybody not fearing further violence in the days following would have had to be, quite frankly, barking mad. Those people were not only very, very dangerous, some of them were highly organised, prepared for violence, and fully intending to commit extreme violence.
And they quite possibly still are. “Conservatives” you call them? Far right white supremacist extremists / terrorists.
Infidel says
Interesting that Rod goes out of his way to avoid answering which country that ‘backward country’ is, despite being repeatedly asked. I wouldn’t answer it either if I were him, since I’d be embarrassed that that country produced specimens like him
Never mind that the US under Trump never intervened in any of these ‘backward countries’ no matter what they did, unless it was a direct threat to the US
Rod says
It’s tragic that so many countries threaten the USA. And that the USA has to have such a massive arsenal of murderous weaponry, and a massive arms industry to feel safe.
God, those Vietnamese, with their straw hats and black kimonos would scare the daylights out of anybody. And weapons of mass destruction everywhere. No wonder the poor Americans have to kill so many people, and so many of each other to feel safe.
Their own people are frightening enough – look at what happened only a couple of week ago. More guns is the only solution. Most of them have got two or three already, but you can’t be too careful, can you? At least Mr Biden, with 20,000 armed soldiers nearby, must feel safe.
But don’t ever forget – it’s those Muslims that are the real danger to us all.
Rod says
Hey, Infidel, if I told you I was from Bechuanaland, would that help?
How could it make any difference to your own pathetic insecurity?
CogitoErgoSum says
I always enjoy when Rod pays a visit.
Frank Anderson says
C.E.S., most really good wrestling matches (yes there are some and I enjoy them tremendously) involve a hero and a villain (“heel”). The theory is that we need our heroes; and the heels help us to identify the heroes. It can be a lot of fun when a heel starts a row with a person in the audience. I had a friend who was a local promoter and character in his promotion. He was a HEEL! He loved to get an argument going with a fan. I enjoyed the show. The exchange I am watching here is a lot like those I saw before my friend died.

Is “Rod” now hinting that he is from Botswana? The “Bechuanaland Protectorate” is now the Republic of Botswana. Of course, this may just be more sand-throwing from him. He has previously implied other places.
Arnold David Darman says
Yikes. Unfortunately, this blogged has morphed into something very different than what it started out as.
p.s I understand the purpose of a 2nd impeachment to be to disqualify Trump from holding the position again which, if correct, explains why the attempted ridicule (impeaching the dead) is distinguishable.
Cornelius says
You’re right Arnold, this blog has indeed morphed. Let me give that morphing some context…
During the Bush Administration, Robert was hired by the federal government to hold seminars for the military and intelligence community in order to better educate them regarding the nature, the traditions, and the dangers posed by Jihad. Once Obama was elected, the government cut all ties to him and he has since been consistently ostracized and demonized by the left (and even poisoned on a trip to Iceland).
The experience has understandably changed Robert. He no longer has any illusions that the left can be convinced to join the anti-Jihad. Therefore, he has thrown his lot in with the right and sees the left – rightly – as the ‘useful idiots’ for the spread of Jihad and Sharia while they employ the hue and cry of “racism” to attack anyone opposed to Islam.
Trump’s so-called “Muslim ban” was the appropriate policy for Robert and for most of us here. His killing of Iran’s Sulimeini (sic?) and his desire to get us out of Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan were also seen as appropriate policies. Therefore, we are mostly supporters of Trump here….not for his over-the-top rhetoric, but for his foreign policy and his security policy.
OK?
Wellington says
Highly accurate comment, Cornelius. Definitely on point.

Infidel says
All true. Not just that, but going beyond RS, Trump’s visit to Riyadh in 2017 was a watershed moment in the way that at least the US started recognizing the islamic underpinnings of terrorism and war. When he told his muslim hosts to ‘throw them out of their mosques and everywhere else’, he was very politely reading them the riot act. Something that the Saudis, Egyptians and most Arabs followed, but others like Qatar and Pakistan ignored.
Most people on JW are aware that islam is not gonna go extinct, so if a leader comes up w/ ways to contain it, be it that speech at Riyadh, the Travel ban on some muslim countries, the withdrawal of forces from the Middle East where their ultimate mission is now a mystery, the reduction in foreign aid to muslim countries like Pakistan, reduction in the dependence on muslim oil*, ending the escort services of the US navy to Arabian Gulf shipping of oil, and an end to celebrating muslim festivals in the WH as American festivals (yeah, he did host a Ramadan dinner in 2018, but that was for the envoy of Kuwait, rather than CAIR or anyone else in America)
So essentially, Trump policies did more to not just contain the muslim onslaught where it could, but it also ultimately resulted in a schism within the ummah itself. And as Hugh Fitzgerald once pointed out, nothing better for us than seeing the muslim world divided among itself. shi’a vs sunni was never gonna cut it, since it just meant Iran vs the rest of islam, but Arab vs non-Arab is a far more even divide, and it’ll be worth the popcorn to see how that goes!
* Opening up ANWR and authorizing the Keystone pipeline and fracking made the US one of the world’s largest oil producers, and suddenly countries were willing to take far fewer risks while importing their oil. For instance, when the US, after the standoff w/ Iran at Hormuz, decided that its navy would no longer escort foreign shipping through those straits until they paid for it, we found ourselves exporting more oil. India, for instance, used their navy ships to accompany their tankers for a few days, but after that, the bulk of their orders were split b/w the US and Russia. All that crashed demand for Middle Eastern oil, even before the Chinavirus hit, and if one recalls, early last year, there was a price war b/w Riyadh and Moscow that was driving oil prices into negative territory, which is why President Trump had to intervene to stop that. An unintended consequence of that price crash is that the Saudis and other Gulf Arabs have had to become very sensitive to their non-muslim customers like India, since every customer was now, for the first time in history, valuable, and it’s one of the reasons they’ve soured on countries like Pakistan

Good post, Cornelius.
ADD says
Your comment is more cogent than most comments here so I will respond, something I pretty much gave up on as the comments have become weirder over the years.
Demonized by the left? Please provide support for this sweeping assertion. I hope it is more than that his govt employment to teach about jihad was ended by a Democrat. Do you really want to argue that a nut job’s attempted murder is evidence of anything other than the perp was nuts?
If forced to described myself in the shorthand terminology of left/right, I would put myself on the left. However, these terms ” left- right” are overused, ill-defined, and too often needlessly divisive. I believe many folks who. like me, might be described as on the left agree with much of what RS teaches about Islam. Accordingly, I believe RS undermines his influence when he incessantly, almost pathologically, ridicules leftists. That only serves to alienate many who would otherwise pay more attention to his ideas/teachings. Moreover, too many of his readers (or at least those who comment frequently) add fuel to this divisive fire with highly charged, frequently stupid rants about political matters.
So you believe that RS’s politics and antipathy for anything left of center have been determined in large part by the ridicule and ostracism he has experienced from the left? Why would that change RS? Is he so thin-skinned that he allows himself to abandon the high ground because mostly ignorant critics belittle or attack him and his ideas? I encourage RS to be steadfast, to avoid “over the top rhetoric’ and to continue to patiently teach in the hope that eventually some of his critics will come around to see Islam as the supremacist, chauvinistic, bellicose, ideology that it is.
I don’t disagree with much of RS’s position on foreign policies as it concerns Muslims, Muslim majority nations and immigration. I concur US immigration policy ought to carefully limit adherents to a theology that rejects the US constitution and its democratic form of government.
In short, this blog is most helpful when it teaches us about Islam and informs us of socio-political happenings pertaining to Islam. When RS purports to be expert on all political matters, especially purely domestic matters he allows his righteous antipathy to Islam to excessively color all his opinions. He alienates many who would otherwise be more ardent supporters and that is a shame.

Note that “ADD” is yet another username adopted by “David Damanad”, “Arnold David Darmanad”, and “howie smith”. All I can think is that he is hoping that readers here will assume that many share his views that Robert Spencer be prevented from pointing out how often the Left enables Islam. Just sad.
A David Darman says
More ad hominem from craven. Can we stick to talking about ideas? How about addressing the substantive points?
By the way, this is the last time I will address comments to you. Fighting with a pig is a non-winning proposition. You both wind up in the mud.
gravenimage says
How does my pointing out that David Darmanad is posting under multiple user names make me a “pig”? Note that he is insulting me–I didn’t call him names, I just made note of his behavior here.
Infidel says
Arnold, see the rest of my response to Cornelius above. Speaking of the 2nd impeachment, first of all, the conviction won’t happen, since Rand Paul managed to rally 45 votes against it, and against that backdrop, it’s very unlikely that there will be 17 republicans who defect. But even if that were to happen, the constitutionality of impeaching someone after he’s left office is bound to be challenged, not to mention that there is nothing in impeachment that prevents a president from running again. Note that rules for other officials are different from that of the president, since he (along w/ the VP) is an entire branch of government all on his own
gravenimage says
David Darmanad has also “morphed”. He used to post Anti-Jihad comments here; now all he does is castigate Counter-Jihadists like Robert Spencer for noting which leaders enable Islam and which defend against it–surely a salient issue here. He has never said why he has stopped opposing Jihad.
A David Darman says
(just saw this after my last comment and can’t help replying despite my dislike of mud)
Where did I write anything opposing jihad? I oppose jihad, and I dislike muslim ideology, but I also oppose RS when he conflates being against Trump with being pro-jihad. For RS, anyone who opposes Trump is ipso facto in favor of jihad! How utterly superficial. Worse yet, anti -Trump is then also identified as left wing with total disregard for issues other than those relating to Islam.
Trump was born on third base ( He inherited great wealth from his dad.) , but thinks he has hit a homerun in business. But tell me, how do you bankrupt a casino?
gravenimage says
Of course, Robert Spencer has never said that those who oppose Trump are ipso facto pro-Jihad. As for David Darmanad–or whatever he is calling himself now–he seldom posts anything actually opposing Jihad these days–just on castigating Anti-Jihadists here.
That he now cosiders the issue of whether Trump is a self-made man or not–which I haven’t seen anyone here argue, in any case–is now more important than opposing Jihad is just very odd.
I will let his Freudian slip go–his writing “Where did I write anything opposing jihad?”–anyone can make a typo; it doesn’t necesarily mean anything…

Jerome from Layton says
Looks like Donald is getting the Cromwell treatment except that, unlike Charles-II, the Jacobites in the Democrat party seek to execute him early without waiting to exhume the corpse.
Rod says
More like the treatment given Charles I, Jerome. High treason is no small matter. Charles’ fate was just one step along the way to the achievement of a functioning democracy. The USA will get there some day. Hopefully.
Infidel says
You’re not an American, so why do you care? How many Americans do you see (outside the Left) nosing into what other countries do?
Rod says
Infidel, this is funny. Americans nosing into what other countries do? Unthinkable!
I believe Vietnamese, Laotians, Cambodians, including small children, are still being killed by unexploded US bombs, and still trying to locate and defuse them. Then there are the 3rd generation kids born with deformities from Agent Orange. Then there are the rice farmlands rendered permanently useless, etc. And that’s just a corner of SE Asia.
How many countries have had Americans interfering in their elections or governments or dictatorships in my lifetime? I could name a dozen, but there may be many more. Cuba? Chile? Argentina? Vietnam? Guatemala? Iraq? Iran?
Why do I care? As I said, hahaha.
Infidel says
Rod, how about sticking to this century!?!
Rod says
Why? (What I’ve described in SE Asia is happening now.) But, I’m only too happy to oblige, Infidel.
Trump’s trade wars have damaged my country’s economy and many others. Clumsy bullyboy tactics with China, N. Korea, Iran raised a real possibility of war. Attempts to damage the WHO, the Iran agreement, the Paris Accord are a threat to US ALL, as was a refusal for four years to act on climate change.
That’s why the entire civilised world is relieved to see the infantile dotard and his swaggering infantile family sent off to his golf course, and a sensible, modest, conservative man installed in the White House, calling for unity, cooperation, and rational responses to real problems.
The Proud Boys have proved themselves to be dangerous idiots. Trump and his Republicans are the Proud Boys writ large. Self important, vain, irresponsible, and above all, STUPID.
Will a half million Covid deaths of your fellow countrymen and women and children, the handiwork of your Very Stable Genius, convince you? 600,000? What will it take?

Wait–now “Rod” wants to see those who disagree with him politically *beheaded*? Good lord…
I suppose I should not really be surprised. What is more Islamic than beheading your victims?
Rod says
“He is being impeached for being a dictator, telling protestors to proceed peacefully and having them disregard his words and disobey his instruction…..”
Did nobody notice that this is a lie?
The article of impeachment has been published and looks nothing like what is alleged here.
Or, since it’s a Spencer lie, doesn’t it matter?
gravenimage says
Actually, this from Robert Spencer is a good summing up.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-55656385
How is anything Spencer said untrue? As usual, “Rod” doesn’t say, because he’s got nothing.
Rod says
“He is being impeached for being a dictator” This is a lie from Robert Spencer. Plain and simple.
Unless of course, anything Spencer says immediately becomes unassailable truth. Stalin had this gift too. The US/USSR parallels are becoming difficult to ignore, aren’t they.
But for ordinary mortals, Spencer is still a liar.
gravenimage says
“Rod” is endlessly dishonest:
“Donald Trump called a ‘dictator’ at impeachment trial”
https://www.ft.com/content/113b3c84-3ebe-11ea-a01a-bae547046735
Is “Rod” now saying that the Financial Times is lying?
Rod says
The Financial Times didn’t draft the article of impeachment.
I and many others have called Trump an fool. That doesn’t mean he is being impeached for being a fool. And he is not being impeached for being a dictator, no matter how often Spencer lies to you about it.
God, why do I have to explain such simple things to you people? Are you all simpletons?
gravenimage says
I never said that the Financial Times crafted the articles of impeachement–what rot. I said they quoted President Trump being called a dictator at the impeachment trial, which “Rod” denied.
Rod says
Well, that was easy. You are a simpleton.
And Spencer is still a liar.
Rod says
Like you.
gravenimage says
“Rod” seems incapable of honestly addressing any points. No surprise there.
