My latest in PJ Media:
It had been so long since we had an American president, many people had forgotten what it was and should be like. And after decades of anti-American, cultural Marxist indoctrination in American schools and popular culture, others thought it was a terrible thing. Neo-Dem Never-Trumper William Kristol tweeted: “I’ll be unembarrassedly old-fashioned here: It is profoundly depressing and vulgar to hear an American president proclaim ‘America First.’”
A foundation of the Democrats’ 2020 platform was the party’s vow to return America to its place in the world, i.e., to stop putting America First, and to go back to being the world’s beat cops and ATM. Now, however, after four years of Trump, some Americans see how the American president should put America first, and they’re not going to forget when Dotty Old Joe hits the White House basement, or when Kamala Harris moves her socialist, internationalist clown show into the Oval Office.
Yes, Trump was a braggart and a blusterer. Yes, he insulted people. Yes, he was often inarticulate. Yes, he showed none of the polish to which we have become accustomed from those who claim to be “experts” in how our government, and our daily lives, should be run. He was derided as an amateur, a non-expert, and he was: for some, that was one of the most important bases of his appeal. For Trump, unlike every other president going back to Reagan, and unlike most others before that going back to before Woodrow Wilson, dedicated his every act as president to putting Americans first and bettering their lives, and he wasn’t afraid to go against the conventional wisdom and decades of precedent to do so.
This often paid spectacular dividends. In June 2016, Barack Obama ridiculed Trump’s pledge to attract U.S. companies that had moved out of the country back to the United States, asking Trump, “What magic wand do you have?” Trump’s magic wand was an unprecedented initiative to cut regulations on businesses and drastically lower taxes.
It began to work immediately. Harry Moser of the Reshoring Initiative, which tracks jobs returning to the U.S. from companies that had relocated elsewhere, stated, “I’d say 300, 400 [companies], at least, announced in 2017” that they were returning. They brought jobs with them. In 2019, unemployment was at 3.5 percent, the lowest it had been since 1968. The Trump administration also set record lows for unemployment among blacks and Hispanics and record highs for the stock market. Trump proved the point that had been made in the 1920s and subsequently forgotten: lower taxes and fewer regulations mean that businesses can prosper, and when businesses prosper, so do the Americans whom they employ.
There is more. Read the rest here.

God bless Donald Trump – the most unappreciated President in history.
And they call him a clown.
The clown in the White House just brokered four Middle East Peace Accords, something that 71 years of political intervention and endless war failed to produce.
The buffoon in the White House is the first president that has not engaged us in a foreign war since Eisenhower.
The clown in the White House has had the greatest impact on the economy, bringing jobs, and lowering unemployment to the Black and Latino population of ANY other president. Ever.
The buffoon in the White House has exposed the deep, widespread, and long-standing corruption in the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, and the Republican and Democratic parties.
The buffoon in the White House turned NATO around and had them start paying their dues.
The clown in the White House neutralized the North Koreans, stopped them from developing a further nuclear capability, sending missiles toward Japan, and threatening the West Coast of the US.
The clown in the White House turned our relationship with the Chinese around, brought hundreds of business back to the US, and revived the economy. Hello!!!!!!!
The clown in the White House has accomplished the appointing of three Supreme Court Justices and close to 300 Federal Judges.
This same clown in the White House lowered your taxes, increased the standard deduction on your IRS return from $12,500 for Married Filing Joint to $24,400 and caused your stock market to move to record levels over 100 times, positively impacting the retirements of tens of millions of citizens.
The clown in the White House fast-tracked the development of a COVID Vaccine – it will be available within weeks – we still don’t have a vaccine for SARS, Bird Flu, Ebola, or a host of diseases that arose during previous administrations.
The clown in the White House rebuilt our military which the Obama administration had crippled and had fired 214 key generals and admirals in his first year of office.
This clown in the White House uncovered widespread pedophilia in the government and in Hollywood, and is exposing world wide sex trafficking of minors and bringing children home to their families.
The clown in the White House works for free and has lost well over 2 billion dollars of his own money in serving – and done all of this and much more in the face of relentless undermining and opposition from people who are threatened because they know they are going to be exposed as the criminals that they are if he is re-elected.
I got it, you don’t like him. Many of you utterly hate and despise him. How special of you. He is serving you and ALL the American people. What are you doing besides calling him names and laughing about him catching the China virus ?
And please educate me again as to what Biden has accomplished for America in his 47 years in office?
I’ll take a ‘clown’ any day versus a fork tongued, smooth talking hypocritical corrupt liar.
God bless Donald Trump – the most unappreciated President in history.

Well said.
President Trump got things done against heavy opposition. I predict in 4 years even the Dems will wish he was in office. He was not a siver-tongued two-face and always worked for the benefit of the nation, unlike those who put image and graft ahead of progress.
We are about to watch the destruction of the middle class, beginning in California and New York City. Despite new programs in response to BLM demands, new immigrants will continue leapfrogging the black community because the Dems only know how to transfer wealth.
The worst players will be the Tech Giants who are basically a flock of nerds with little understanding of social relationships of non-techies and short on compassion. The major society-damaging vector that Corporate America refuses to recognize is: “Maximizing returns to shareholders”, without regard to its effects on people, is destroying the middle class of our nation.
Our future will depend on the citizens. The current politicians are a burden as were the politicians of Rome. Keeping them can only give us the future of Rome.
LB says
“I predict in 4 years even the Dems will wish he was in office”
I highly, EXTREMELY doubt that. Democratic elites will pursue their globalist ideals even as the scimitar comes down on their necks. They will not change their minds until they’re dead.
Leftist and liberal voters on the other hand are more likely to heave a reality check because they’re living closer to the ground (reality) among the “new arrivals” and are actually dependent on the economy being healthy in order to put food on their tables, which is not something that can be said for politicians who live in heavily guarded ivory towers and who are funded by the state and various donors and special interest groups.
The same can be said about most of the establishment right-wing elites. How in the hell do people like Mitch McConnell, Mitt Romney and the rest of the anti-Trump republican cabal still have any people’s support is beyond me. It’s been confirmed that during the vote count today, some republican congressmen (both in the House and the Senate) will object the swing state electoral college votes, which will trigger the debates in both chambers about whether to reject or accept those votes. But none of that opposition will matter if the slim Republican majority does not vote in unison like the Democrats do. In other words, the GOP Establishment anti-Trumpers will almost certainly vote to APPROVE the swing states electoral votes.
I ask any right-wing American reading this to TAKE NOTES OF THE NAMES OF THOSE WHO DID NOT VOTE IN SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP TODAY AND NEVER VOTE FOR THEM AGAIN!!! Nor for any other candidates they might endorse. It is high time that the conservative people of USA to hold their representatives accountable for their actions by voting them OUT OF OFFICE! These fraudulent elections that they are trying to push through should open everyone’s eyes about who those elites really work for. Spoiler alert: it’s not the American people that voted for them.
Infidel says
As republicans, we need to take primaries more seriously! Not merely the presidential ones, but the down-ballot ones, particularly the senate. Like obviously Amy McGrath wasn’t a better alternative to McConnell, but a primary GOP challenger would have been. Same thing w/ Susan Collins in Maine. When Steve Bannon worked in the White House, he at one point suggested primarying all the senators who ran in 2018, excluding Ted Cruz. That would have actually been a good project to execute
Also, the GOP chair needs to be someone who’d take a look into primaries all over the country and do what needs to be done to get people like Kris Kobach elected across the board. Ronna was nothing more than a presidential spokeswoman, but that’s Keileigh’s job, not hers. I’d like to see someone like Bannon become the RNC head

We did have a Trump-like candidate in 1992: his name was H Ross Perot. Too bad that he had less of a backbone than Trump did and dropped out in b/w, losing a lot of supporters to Clinton. Otherwise, at one point in the race, he was leading the field, ahead of both Bush and Clinton

I really cannot understand why people do not like Trump. I have heard of the many good things he did, and what’s not to like? Is it simply they do not like people outside the establishment or they want to have pork barrel benefits for their special interests. Sometimes people just imagine he did something bad without really knowing any specific thing he did that they dislike.
It is too bad the left had to conspire against him and want Biden in the White House. Biden will probably be the least popular, least successful president of all. Even Obama may not like his performance.
Infidel says
There are 2 groups of people whose loathing of Trump defies all logic:
– Traditional anti-war Democrats: this group of people, like the Code Pink guys, should be thrilled w/ Trump. While Obama was bold in pulling troops out of Iraq, he and the Dem establishment always maintained that Afghanistan was the ‘good war’ and that it was worth leaving troops there forever. Aside from that, the Dems had a new love for NATO, which they could use in promoting their pet causes like ‘liberating’ Libya. Trump otoh wanted to get US troops out of everywhere, and in fact, even went as far as pulling some out of Germany. Anti-war flower kids of the 60s like Cindy Sheehan should have loved Trump, given how he transformed the GOP. In fact, now you have more people like Matt Gaetz have the same views as a Rand Paul and a Tucker Carlson
– Never-Trump ‘conservatives’: it was one thing for doubting Thomases not to support him in 2016, like Greg Gutfeld or Ben Shapiro did then, when he had no record. But given everything he did since getting elected – whether it was tax cuts, judges, moving the Israel embassy to Jerusalem, abortions, allowing fracking and ANWR drilling, et al, most people in the GOP who either opposed him then or held their noses adjusted their views of him as his policy executions became clear, and switched over to him. The only ones who continued to hate Trump are those who were pathologically opposed to his foreign policy (which in the case of Russia was effectively sabotaged!) and troop withdrawals, his decision to impose tariffs on other countries and – this one takes the cake – his personality! And since there was no constituency in the GOP for their stances, they ultimately merged w/ the Dems and their policy stances are indistinguishable from them
Hopefully, people like Tulsi Gabbard who are increasingly marginalized in the Democrat Party, as well as the Walk Away campaign, move over to the Trump side

Fine analysis, Infidel.
The biggest hurdle for these two groups is to admit that they were *wrong* about Pres. Trump…

They don’t need to admit anything: they could just have done what Leo Terrell and Alan Derschowitz did. In fact, Leo Terrell, who I only remember as a life long racist, shocked me when he came out for Trump

According to the feature article, Pres. Trump, during his time as president:
=====
1. Was a braggart and a blusterer.
2. Insulted people.
3. Was often inarticulate.
3. Showed none of the polish to which we have become accustomed from those who claim to be “experts” in how our government, and our daily lives, should be run.
4. Was derided as an amateur, a non-expert.

Rod,
Please read the following – and address what you would have done differently balancing the effects (total morbidity and mortality) of the virus versus the effects (total morbidity and mortality) of draconian lockdowns:
“President Trump’s Historic Coronavirus Response”
https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/president-trumps-historic-coronavirus-response/
Rod says
James, Trump did not take “early action to cut off travel from China”. He boasts about stopping Chinese, but allowed thousands of US citizens to return from China with no controls at all. The virus took off from there. Many other countries took precautions.
He did not stop the spread. He discounted the danger, scoffed at masks and social distancing, held mass rallies, etc. Other countries took precautions, some quickly, others less so. And so on.
Hence:
Coronavirus Deaths per Million Population
UK 1126
USA 1079
France 1018
Spain 1100
Canada 431
Denmark 245
Sweden 890
Norway 83
Israel 404
Germany 439
Japan 28
Austria 717
Australia 36
There are many others better or worse than these.
But,
the USA is almost the worst in the world, largely because of arrogant, bungled mismanagement. Many died when they should not have, and are dying still. You can explain it as you wish, but Trump’s failures played a major role. Why pretend otherwise?
John C Massam says
President Donald Trump recommended taking disinfectant to fight to coronavirus virus.
He’s an empty-headed clown.
James Lincoln says
Rod,
Thank you for the reply, however you did not answer the core question:
What would you, as US president, had done differently balancing the effects (total morbidity and mortality) of the virus versus the effects (total morbidity and mortality) of draconian lockdowns?
Hint:
The morbidity and mortality of Covid cannot be looked at in a vacuum…
Rod says
James,
“What would you, as US president, had done differently ?”
First – I would have listened to experts, as the leaders of my country and many other countries did. When mistakes became obvious, I would have changed course, again on the advice of experts.
I would NOT have claimed to have expert knowledge when in fact I had NONE. Yes, I refer to the man who disdained to wear a mask, who disparaged Dr Fauci, who stupidly assured trusting listeners that the virus was not to be feared, who talked about bleach in the presence of people who knew that those words were stupid and dangerous.
Lockdowns are part of the process. Yes, they mean a difficult balancing act between infection rates and disruption. But experience in UK and USA (and in my country) is convincing. A hospital system overwhelmed, contact tracing no longer possible, and the virus out of control must be avoided, I’m tempted to say at any cost, but I’m not an expert either.
Rod says
James, I forgot something very important.
Trump’s behaviour wasn’t just stupid. It was criminally irresponsible, and I do mean criminally. I have friends in the US. They are in much greater danger of infection and death because of Trump’s stupidity. I am outraged on their behalf. As you should be also.
Why is Canada’s death rate only 40% of yours?
Phil says
Rod, Interestingly enough, the majority of the deaths in the USA have been from Democrat/Liberal strongholds. Places like New York where the Gov. and Mayor refused any help from President Trump. You also love to ignore the established fact that many deaths (including car crashes) were attributed to COVID. Yet the common flu has disappeared this season?
Your hatred for Trump, for America, for the Constitution and everything else good about this nation has deeply colored your views to the point that you can no longer distinguish right from wrong. I pity you, but am also reminded that it’s people like yourself who have now put our nation into the greatest danger it’s ever been in.
Rod says
Car crashes Phil? Well I have to confess I never thought of that. And Canada’s drivers must be 250% more careful than yours. Or are the Canadian doctors just so much better at investigating hospital patients’ cause of death?
As for Democrat/Liberal strongholds, today’s news tells me that “Arizona becomes Covid hotspot of the world as governor resists restrictions”. I gather the gentleman is a Republican.
I don’t compile Covid statistics, Phil, and they are quite independent of my ideas of right and wrong, or my political opinions. The statistics speak for themselves. You’re welcome to ignore them, but they won’t change.
James Lincoln says
Rod,
Thank you for your reply.

Down here in the antipodes i have watched the travails of Trump for 3 decades at least. What I see happened was that he was the down town upstart who dared to move his empire uptown into the realm of the old money ,and because he had more money than them they got really annoyed. Then, when he erected the tower, the spit was coming thick and fast from those old families, many of whom have faded anyway ,so it was sheer jealousy .
Remember the First Borat movie where the lead actor craps in a garden and the camera pulls back to reveal it’s the garden in front of Trump tower? The hate ran deep even back then, especially from the actors in holly wood who think that their opinion is the only one to be considered.
But given that list of reasons why people do not like Trump, I don’t recall him being guilty of any of them. He has shown the world the Difference between a Statesman and a politician.
Rod says
“….that list of reasons why people do not like Trump, I don’t recall him being guilty of any of them.”
Well, there was an attempt to hold him to account by impeachment. He wouldn’t permit witnesses to appear, let alone testify. It worked beautifully.
I wonder why he did that? You would think he would be eager to prove his innocence, Hard to understand. (No, it’s very easy.)
Infidel says
As usual, WRONG!!! If anything, his legal team had trouble w/ him willing to open up to anything the media wanted. The only people he did hold back were on grounds of executive privilege, and to protect future presidents from having to open up privileged conversations to Congress. I mean, which foreign leader would ever wanna have a private conversation w/ the president if he knows it’ll be opened up later on? The US president is not the only leader of the world who’d like his conversations not to be splashed out in the world
Any other president would have sent Congress back w/ a flea in their ears
gravenimage says
Actually, Trump *was* impeached. But this was largely kabuki theater and amounted to pretty much nothing.
Rod says
Which accused would ever want all the details of his offences revealed to the jury? In real courtrooms, the accused doesn’t decide. Criminal privilege is a bit weird.
But putting one man above the law, in the land where all men are equal is far beyond weird. It’s idiotic.
Doesn’t what you say prove me RIGHT?
Rod says
America united again? America respected again? America a leader again? America healthy again?
Infidel says
United – it hasn’t been since Clinton! As far as healthy, the fault for that can be thrown at the section of society that’s been championing drug legalization, even while we have an opioid and fentanyl crisis. And the Chinavirus only hit last year.
Leader again? Depends what you mean. In the name of ‘leadership’, previous presidents since Reagan put America last. There is a reason we have troops in 150 out of 193 countries, and none in our own. That is ‘leadership’ to our State Department and our Military-Industrial complex, totally ignoring the cost to our people or our national debt. Trump is the first leader who forced other countries that wanted our troops to pay for them, and start conversations of withdrawing them from others. Hopefully we should withdraw them from Merkel’s Germany: Ramstein is not a jobs program!
Respected again? The US is only disdained by the snotty-nosed EU and that man-child led Canada, that can’t do a thing right. We’re certainly respected by our enemies, such as North Korea, and that is important. And we’re respected by other non-white countries like Japan and India. In fact, given Trump’s complain about the US having to do things alone, in Quad, unlike NATO, all 4 members of that alliance are taking the initiative. But that would be too much for a vapid airhead like you to comprehend
Like I once told you, since you’re not from this country, stay out of our business!
Rod says
stay out of our business?
Trade wars, arms sales, bombs, missiles, armed invasions, military bases, confrontations, fractured world agreements and treaties, refugees, pollution, climate change.
I’d prefer it if you’d stay out of my business! But of course, with Fuhrer Trump in control, you are as powerless as I am.
Respected? How would you know how the world sees Trump and the USA? From the Fake News? There’s a lot of it out there today. And your country isn’t looking like one worthy of much respect.
Stock up on your ammo. Drink up your bleach.

The one really important thing Trumpty didn’t manage to get done was to reconstruct the electoral system so that there would be a guaranteed one citizen one legitimate vote registered when an election takes place.
And it is unfortunate that he was often fast and loose with facts, if he could have fixed that one personal issue then I think he would have left the Democrats in the dust.
Democrats tell whoppers too of course but they aren’t brought to account by the media like Trump was, in his case it was more like a vendetta so it was even more critical to not give them fuel for their fire.
Westman says
In attempting to destroy Trump, the media succeeded in pushing him out of the Presidency. However, the cost to them is they no longer are trusted nor deserve trust. It will take a full generation to regain trust and if they cannot, then they have given us something between Pravda and a Banana Republic.
Westman says
Gee Rod, your ignorance of politicians is showing.
You are mostly concerned about what he said or did before he was in office. Some sexual banter with the boys becomes reality for you?
Let’s try real reality. Were you aware that Dem icon brothers Kennedy both slept with Marylin Monroe while IN office? What kind of banter do you think they had about it? Did you know that FBI director Herbert Hoover blackmailed President Kennedy to get the White House pool parties stopped? How about Pres Johnson getting frisky with the secretary on the Oval Office desk? You of course, are aware of the Clinton proclivities. And, of course, you do know that Biden also has his female accusers?
The man, Trump, got things done, one of which will save our lives from Covid. Our country doesn’t need a good reputation among its enemies and parasites. It only needs a reputation of strength and justice. Letting the EU get away with short-changing defense, unfair trade arrangements, and not controlling our borders only weakened our reputation and rebranded the US as a pushover.
Trump did much for America.
What have you done in your life that benefitted the US? Anything?
Rod says
Not to mention the deep, deep divisions right across the country, tragic to see from outside. It must be deeply painful for those experiencing it first hand. What sort of “effective” achievement is that?
And the racism. How could I forget?
Westman, I’m concerned about the sort of man he is. His past behaviour is directly relevant and hard to ignore. He’ll save you from Covid? It’s a bit late. Thousands of grieving US families won’t be impressed. My country’s government began the job eight or nine months ago. Why didn’t yours?
The Kennedys? You support Trump because of the Kennedys? Well, I can’t think of a reason myself, so, why not?

Rod, the only racism comes out of the Left – you people! The one that insists on forcing people to look at their ‘white privilege’, no matter how they are suffering. The one that calls Black, Hispanic and other non-White Conservatives ‘White Supremacists’, so that that term no longer has any meaning. As for the deep divisions, they’ve been there since Clinton!
The Chinavirus, or ‘Covid’ as you euphemistically call it, was not a Trump creation, it came here from China. The lockdown was sensible initially to prevent hospitals from getting overwhelmed, but no longer makes sense. In Europe, Sweden is doing fine, and in the US, the states that have not locked down, such as Florida and South Dakota, are doing fine. The ones suffering like New York and California are doing so b’cos their governors have forcibly shut down most businesses. They shouldn’t be doing that if the vaccines (which were only available this year b’cos of the red tape that Trump removed) are now ready and ramping up
Again, which is your country, so that we can know what its ‘effective’ ‘Covid’ reactions were?
Rod says
Racism comes out of the Left? That would be all those African Americans I saw marching peacefully in your cities. That’s the racist Left? Don’t those white supremacists have a phobia about race? They’re the racist Left? Or is the Left just anybody who disagrees with you?
Which is my country? Let’s just say it’s a democracy. Everybody allowed to vote, no gerrymanders, no tricky ways of disenfranchising people we don’t like. We have elections, results often disappointing, but always accepted.
I’ve been in a demonstration at our seat of government. Lots of people, lots of noise. No guns. A few police, (armed? I don’t remember). They wouldn’t let us in. We didn’t struggle. Then we went home.
Seems the world’s greatest democracy could teach us a lot. (We’re unlikely to take any notice.)

(no matter how you look at it, it is difficult the arrive at any other conclusion therefore the CCP is responsible for every death outside of China, you could say they have used a bio weapon on the world, a declaration of war even, and it is overdue to consider a response)
Trump just had too much on his plate and had to contend with a constant barrage of distractions from the morally corrupt Democrats and the media that really amounted to low level insurrection or even treason.
The EU were no help, they were like the Eloi people singing kumbaya while the Morelocks, who had a free pass, were eating them alive, the UK as well.
The Kennedy’s did have a strong sense of morality and justice, JFK despite being warned was in the process of dismantling the Mob who had tentacles reaching everywhere, many low life’s in high places stood to be exposed at some point and the rest is history.

It is blatant Kabuki. CNN on speed is what those unwise enough to listen will have served to them on a daily platter (while the air/free speech gets sucked/ignored/or intimidated out of the room). It’s quite amazing that American politicians are so stupidly demeaning their audience by fancying their ludicrous histrionics and evasions and obfuscations (ones a child can readily see through ) will earn them honest respect and validity while they act like hysterical shipwreck survivors flailing around to grasp for the last straw.
It is MOST unbecoming – and yet they have the nerve to pretend Trump lacks polish!
This article is a KEEPER and we must forgive Robert Spencer for going off-topic!

Well the 6th day of 2021 looks a little bleak. The progressive left liberals will get their chance to change America. If they open the borders and open the funding of free everything, we may have destroyed the only democracy in the world.

Winston Churchill:
“If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than live as slaves.”

Yes–and reports say she was unarmed and not at all aggressive. Even MSNBC reported this story.

Biden serves China. The Left has bested us. There is laughter in Peking. It was so easy. Peking appears in charges of ALL of US gov’t; all three branches. I can’t bail: too old & no place of escape. I have to fight in place. I hope I take a dozen on the way out.

trump supporter try to carry out than coup against Congress today with trump approval.
gravenimage says
This was a demonstration, not a coup.
Then, having “Brian Hoff”–really, “DefenderofIslam”–lecture us on American democracy is just grotesque. He has said that when Muslims gain enough power that they will destroy the US Constitution and impoise the horrors of Shari’ah law on us.
Brian Hoff says
I hear the cabin is meeting to remove trump by the 25th amendment.
Ecosse1314 says
Never seen cabins meeting
Is it a holiday park?

The “cabin”? Try again…
Then, note that “Brian Hoff’ doesn’t even try to deny that he plans to impose savage Shari’ah law here if he evere gets the chance. All that he is proposiong here he hopes will lead to that end.

Spencer spoke too soon. True to form, Trump ends badly. A troubled legacy and decidely mixed record. The delusional reality script, disinformation tweers, fraudulent no-evidence baseless bully courts, disruption of Constitutional ceremony by ultras mob invading Senate to fix his claim lto have won lost election? Maybe even impeachment in this upcoming remaining week. Sad ship of state indeed. p.s.this forum requires multiple opinions

Talking about impeaching him, or removing him under the 25th amendment, is ridiculous! First take impeachment: the House will have to impeach, and then the Senate will have to have a 2/3 majority. Even assuming that the same 92 members who voted to reject the objections to the electors prevail, it remains questionable if that can be done by the 20th, when he’ll be gone anyway. And if they’re doing it to stain him, it won’t work if 4 years from now, the same people who elected him in 2016 elect him again: impeachment doesn’t bar a president from running again.
25th amendment: the president has to be shown to be of unfit health, and they can’t just call him mentally unfit b’cos they disagree w/ him. Also, if the president disagrees w/ their assessment, he can vote against that, and in that case, they’ll need a 2/3 majority in both senate AND house. Even if all 92 senators vote to remove him, the bulk of house republicans still enthusiastically support him, and won’t vote that way, especially since he’ll be gone in mere days.
The Dems should just focus on the transition now, and getting Biden sworn in. While President Trump should assess whether he should remain in the GOP or form another party of his own, taking only the people who are true to his cause, not turncoats like scAmway Betsy, or Mitch’s wife who was the only cabinet member for both Bush 43 AND Trump or Mulvaney. People like Lindsay Graham, Marsha Blackburn and all showed their true colors, and I’m actually glad that Loeffler lost, given how easily she flipped. If Trump does remain in the GOP, we need to take their primaries next year as seriously as the IA or NH caucus/primaries, so that all the Romneys, Sasses, Grahams and so on are flushed out!

I agrree about time constraints at late date bit disagree on value and need for impeachment. Need to caution, restrain, warn, educate, deter the next delusiinal personality cult presidency and any future insurrection.
