Intesar Hassan’s predicament is a shame indeed. But what obligation do British taxpayers have to provide for her needs? How did they incur this obligation? And why do the Daily Mail and Metro think her misfortune is newsworthy? Note how their stories are almost identical; this is a coordinated campaign.
There are no doubt British citizens who have cold houses that are served by inadequate maintenance staff. Yet would any of them ever get written up in the Daily Mail or Metro? Of course not. And why is that? Because stories such as this one are meant to further a narrative, to tug at the heartstrings so that resistance to mass Muslim migration is softened. After all, who would be so heartless as to deny an old, bedridden woman a bit of taxpayer money to get her a new place, right? And haven’t these refugees from war-torn Iraq suffered enough? How could you possibly oppose their mass migration into the UK, you heartless, greasy Islamophobe?
Articles of this kind are, in short, no less state propaganda designed to inculcate views and attitudes in the populace than anything turned out by Goebbels.
“‘Life in Hull is the same as in Iraq’ says refugee who wants council house after fleeing war-torn Middle East,” by Luke May, Mailonline, January 13, 2021:
A refugee who fled the war-torn Middle East after her relatives were killed says life in Hull is ‘the same’ as Iraq.
Intesar Hassan, 55, was sent to East Yorkshire with her children by the UN in 2012 as she fled war in Iraq and Syria.
Since arriving in the city, the mother says she has been left mostly bed bound and reliant on a wheelchair, after enduring squalor at her home and having to wash in her kitchen sink.
The mother-of-four says her life in Hull is in fact ‘hell’, adding: ‘When I think about Iraq and Hull, they are the same to me.
‘When I came here my health conditions worsened and are getting worse day by day in this house.
‘I cannot walk, talk or eat due to the conditions I am living in. All night long I worry about the house.’
Ms Hassan and her children moved to Syria after her relatives were killed in the Iraq War, where they were provided with food and shelter from the United Nations.
But when conflict broke out in Syria in 2021, the UN moved the family to Hull.
Ms Hassan explained: ‘After war broke out, we were brought to Hull as we were under the threat of being killed. We had to escape for our lives.’
The family says it was placed into their private-rented house in west Hull on their arrival in the city eight years ago.
Since then, Ms Hassan claims there has been no maintenance carried out on the house, while also stating there is no heating and there’s damp on the walls.
She said: ‘I open the window at night because I can’t breathe from the damp inside the house. This situation is reminding me and re-traumatising me from past experiences.
‘I told the Refugee Council that the house is freezing but they didn’t do anything.
‘We have no heating and no maintenance work has been done on the house in the past eight years.
‘I fell down the stairs in the house which led to me needing to have my gall bladder operated on.
‘I have letters from Castle Hill Hospital, GPs and occupational therapists which recommends I am placed into a new house suitable for disabled people, but I have waited on Hull City Council’s housing list since the day I arrived in Hull.’
the [sic] house was ‘immaculate’ upon the family’s arrival, with the tenants denying access to maintenance workers.
A spokesman for Hull City Council said its environmental health team had also been denied access to the house, adding that council properties were allocated ‘based on need’….
“Refugee says life in Hull ‘is same as in Iraq’ as she struggles to get a home,” by Joe Roberts, Metro, January 13, 2021:
A woman who survived war in Iraq and Syria has said that life in Hull is the same as her home country.
Intesar Hassan, 55, was moved to the city by the UN in 2012 but has since become bed-bound after health troubles she says were exacerbated by living in squalor.
Most of her relatives were killed in Iraq, causing her to flee to Syria where they were given food and shelter.
However, when war broke out there, they were moved to Hull as their lives were in danger.
But the tranquillity she hoped to find there has not come forward.
Intesar said: ‘When I think about Iraq and Hull, they are the same to me. When I came here my health conditions worsened and are getting worse day by day in this house.
‘I cannot walk, talk or eat due to the conditions I am living in. All night long I worry about the house.
‘I open the window at night because I can’t breathe from the damp inside the house. This situation is reminding me and re-traumatising me from past experiences.’
She added that she complained about how cold the house is soon after moving in eight years ago.
She said: ‘I told them that the house is freezing but they didn’t do anything. We have no heating and no maintenance work has been done on the house in the past eight years.
However, her landlord said the house was ‘immaculate’ when they arrived and the tenants had denied access for maintenance workers to assess the mold since 2017….
Avenger says
The British should ask the USA to cover the costs of the old hag since she is a result of GW Bush’s invasion of Iraq. Remember the excuse was to find and remove WMD that he later jokingly said he never found. I guess the laugh is on the 3,100 US servicemen who lost their lives fighting in this worthless war.
gravenimage says
Oh, good grief. In fact, they came to England following the conflict in Syria.
But as Avenger has it, all Jihad is the fault of the ‘Great Satan’…
Wellington says
With you again, gravenimage.
T Ross says
And the US had nothing to do with the “conflict” in Syria? And with the “Arab Spring” at large?

“Most of her relatives were killed in Iraq, causing her to flee to Syria”.
There was a mass movement of refugees to stable Syria during GW Bushes illegal and useless war with Iraq. As T Ross also mentions the US State Department under Obama and his shills backed and the Arab Spring which collapsed what was left of any stable governments in the ME.
The EU didn’t support Bush Jr’s war like they did his Daddy’s in the first Gulf War but they are definitely taking the brunt of the flow of real and fake refugees from GW’s disaster in Iraq.

Better yet send the old skank back to where the hell she is from.Oh and one other thing I am proud to be part of the great satan.I know how they are. They don’t want anything truly fixed its why they deny access.Just another tactic.

True “thruthout, (the house was ‘immaculate’ upon the family’s arrival, with the tenants denying access to maintenance workers since 2017) so they caused their own problems, + dare to complain. I treasure what I learned in the 16 weeks of the first Dale Carnegie course, especially the one, “Expect ingratitude.” That is the standard response of greedy thoughtless people who comprise the majority of those we encounter. If Hull is not better, with its welfare and free medical care, and free everything else, go back to Iraq.
gravenimage says
Some people *are* grateful for help received, Frank. I cerainly have been at times in my life.
But Muslims grateful to those they regard as the ‘filthy Infidels’ and their rightfu slaves? Almost never.
Frank Anderson says
GI, I have received a WHOLE lot of help in my life, starting with the family that adopted me. You and I both know the meaning of gratitude. It took me a long while to watch carefully for those who take advantage. Just a few minutes ago I had a chance to talk with one of the ultimate best friends I have ever had; one of several, for whom I am humbly grateful and prepared to do any good thing in my power for them.
As a follower of Dale Carnegie, the wisdom of his many sayings, mostly collected from many sources, teaches many things that help me deal with the greed and ingratitude that is common. As usual, we agree. How many things have I learned here? MANY!
Linde Barrera says
To Frank Anderson- Dale Carnegie is a great author. I am currently reading “How To Win Friends and Influence People” which has been in print for 80 years!
As to the Iraqi Muslim female living in Hull (the subject of this article) it appears she either has post traumatic stress syndrome or she has an undiagnosed mental illness. Very sad.

Don’t worry, They’ll soon turn Hull & the rest of the country into a home from home. Import the 3rd World, become the 3rd. world.

If you look at the pics, they are living in filthy conditions, caused by themselves, if they do not like Hull, they can always disappear back to Iraq!!

Go back where you come from , it’s no place for you here , everybody will be very happy to not feed freeloads for ret of thier life’s , they always wants something for nothing, unbelievable..
somehistory says
She can’t “walk, or eat,”…by cracky, how does she “open the window” and how on earth can she expend so much energy…which comes from ***eating***… complaining? Besides the energy needed to “open the window.”
And if she won’t allow people in to care for the property, she has no cause for complaining about the conditions she says she is living under. Evidently, she has been talking to other moslims who live in ‘better’ and more expensive places and she wants an upgrade.
She should be told to allow in the maintenance people or pack up and they’ll buy her a one-way back to iraq, from whence she came. Hospitality should at least have the reward of appreciation. Looks like a fairly nice bed on which she is lying…haha…lying. She’ll have to leave it behind when she returns to the wonderful world of iraq and the moslim rulers there. No operations on person’s but only to commit terror.
Jacquethelad says
Actually Hull is a nice historic city with some lovely architecture but parts of it, like most western cities, are becoming halal shops no go areas. For the usual reasons. Because ‘Hull’ or to give it it’s proper name of Kingston Upon Hull is only one letter from ‘ Hell’ and is in the North of England and is thus starved of funds from a London centric government then cue the usual unintelligent clichés from those who have never been there.
somehistory says
moslims foul their surroundings…their beds, homes, hoods, etc….and then want to move to a ‘nicer’ place where, if allowed, will just foul it too.
And, since they have psychopathic personalities, always blame others for the “conditions.” And are never grateful for any ‘upgrades.’

Sounds just like the mudslimes here in Australia.
I wonder if they work from the same guide book? Oh, wait, they do, it’s called the koran!

Some saudi moslims who lived in Florida…in what many people would call “mansions”…fled after 9/11 and the inside of the homes were like pigsties.
The walls of the buildings keep people from seeing inside, and basically, they can choose to live like pigs or otherwise.

This is true–note this line from the story: “the [sic] house was ‘immaculate’ upon the family’s arrival, with the tenants denying access to maintenance workers.”.

Did someone INVITE Intesar Hassan to Britain? No? Oh, wait a minute POPE FRANCIS invited her … he doesn’t have to pay for them, thought, does he?

“The family says it was placed into their private-rented house in west Hull on their arrival in the city eight years ago.”
“However, her landlord said the house was ‘immaculate’ when they arrived and the tenants had denied access for maintenance workers to assess the mold since 2017….
Now the new house is the “same” as the old house in Syria. Could it be that the “family” took the same care of both? Who is paying the “private-rent”, the family or the UK?
We watch documentary videos on how drugs have devastated the US inner cities and the same videos show those neighborhoods won’t even pick up the trash in their “private home” yards let alone the streets. There must be a nightime “junkman”, similar to the “sandman”, who comes unseen every night and deposits gifts on lawns and streets. It just can’t be the same people who riot and say they are desperate to get jobs who would leave trash strewn everywhere.
This woman had a family 8 years ago which means there are family members old enough to clean and maintain the living quarters. Where are they? Where are the “brotherhood” Muslim men who take care of the ummah needs? Where is the Imam?
“A spokesman for Hull City Council said its environmental health team had also been denied access to the house..”
We don’t want the landlord or the City Council, we want room serv…uh no, we want a new house we can gradually “convert” into the old house. Hop to it, dhimmi.
gravenimage says
Westman, I’d missed the fact that they’ve been there *eight years*. This has given them plenty of time to get settled in, learn the language, get jobs, and rent a different place if they don’t like the accomodations they have been given.
Why are British taxpayers still paying for this almost a decade after these migrants have arrived? Most migrants are not like this.
Westman says
The only legitimate reason that comes to mind is the children may have some genetic anomaly that leaves them unable to function normally.
Westman says
Ah, here is the problem the Luke May story made a typo, “But when conflict broke out in Syria in 2021…”: The Syrian conflict began in 2012.

A refugee who fled the war-torn Middle East after her relatives were killed says life in Hull is ‘the same’ as Iraq.
………………..
*Really*? Is she and her relatives in danger of being killed in England? Of course not.
And while this property *may* be poorly maintained, it also sounds as though these Muslims are not allowing maintanance workers in to do any work.
Check Burry says
I believe I am right in providing her reasons for refusing maintenance MEN in, she is not allowed to be in presence of non mus or male non family men, or some such crazy outdated rules like that, which she is using to increase her discomfort, so her health fades leading to better pad & much £££ compensation from the islamafobick council, and every Brit. This passes the plan on to all the thousands with the same mindset.
Jayell says
Another poor, deprived family were rescued from war-torn Syria and sent to a nice house in a quiet, civilised Scottish town by the sea, all expenses paid, of course. They said that it wasn’t what they wanted and demanded to be sent to the bright lights of London where they had been expecting to go and no doubt where a lot of their friends were (because there aren’t that many of us English people left in London now). I can’t remember if they were advised to take it or move back to Syria – or take a running jump. Probably none of those.
James says
“Iraq and Hull ‘are the same to me’”
Then the solution is simple, go back to Iraq.
tim gallagher says
There is that saying about people who have a “glass half full or a glass half empty” view of life. I’m betting that this whingeing Muslim (like so many other Muslim invaders – er, “refugees” I apologise for that slip) has the glass half empty outlook on life and would whinge and whine and be miserable wherever she was living. I agree with the comment by James, just up above, if Hull and Iraq are the same, then bugger off back to Iraq. If Hull is no better than Iraq, then what have you got to lose by going back to Iraq. See you later. At least you would be living among your beloved fellow Muslims and not the hated infidels who were far too generous in letting you come and live in the UK and bludge on the welfare provided by the taxpayers. Orban’s Hungary doesn’t have to put up with this type of shit because they don’t let Muslims in to whinge and whine or try to impose islam on everybody. IT is a very wise policy that Hungary and the other Visegrad bloc countries have.
gravenimage says
Agreed, Tim–and to take your metaphor further, that glass is also *refillable*–that is, after eight years these migrants should be well on their way to building a good life for themselves with all the opportunities in Engliand–if this was something they really wanted to do.
tim gallagher says
Well, that’s right, gravenimage. They have had plenty of time to achieve something. Probably many of these “refugees” have no skills that the UK, or other western countries, need. This particular woman may be ill and in pain, so, wherever she is, life might be hard for her. I suspect that many of these people build up a dream, a fantasy view, of western countries as wondrous places where everyone is living a lovely life, (as if) so, once they make the effort to get into the countries, whether the UK, the USA or Australia, then they think they will be able to live a luxurious life without any effort. There’s a song that Ry Cooder does titled “Across the Borderline”, which I like,(I like the feel of the song, though I am for tough borders between the USA and Mexico, so I definitely don’t share the political view of the song,),and the song starts, “There’s a place so I’ve been told, where every street is paved with gold, and it’s just across the borderline” (ie in the USA). Somewhat exaggerated lyrics no doubt, but I suspect that’s the view many of the Muslims invading Europe have. When it comes to Muslims, some could be OK, but I agree with Hungary’s very tough policies because so many Muslims are trouble out of all proportion to other groups. I think our societies just keep shooting ourselves in the foot by letting them in. We are inviting people with a totally incompatible view of life into our countries.

Back in the ’60’s, Bobby Vinton sang a song, “Oh, the grass is always greener, and you are such a dreamer, that you can’t see the forest for the trees. Sometimes those greener pastures turn out to be disasters, because the grass is always greener on the other side.”
The thing is, moslims don’t ever see themselves as needing to water the grass or weed out the grass/weeds…such as crabgrass and milkweed … that mar the lawn. They see slaves…non-moslims…doing that for them and when this doesn’t happen, well…the woman is an example of an ingrate.
tim gallagher says
Yes, somehistory, I agree with what you say about many, maybe most, Muslims. It is locked in their brain that it is perfectly OK for them to bludge, like parasites, on the hated infidels. They expect to be handed welfare, etc, on a platter and all the while the aim of most of them is to impose barbaric Islam on everyone. Totally incompatible. Almost all Muslims are bound to have a very bad attitude towards non-Muslims because that attitude is what Islam teaches them. Just keep them out of our countries is the only sensible way to go. To my mind, they’re not worth all the trouble they bring. As a 70 year old I do have a very vague memory of Bobby Vinton. The first singer I can remember being really impressed by was Roy Orbison. Those lyrics from Vinton’s song are true about many situations.
tim gallagher says
Thanks for your comment, Theresa. I agree. As if all our countries don’t have enough people who are in great need. We don’t need to be swamped by these people, and, if it’s Muslims, they want to impose barbaric Islam on us.
somehistory says
TG
Bobby started as a singer doing the initial songs so the publisher could decide if the song would sell…done by someone else. He was known as the Polish Prince. I recall that his songs were playing before Orbison became popular.
In this, my memory could be faulty. I do believe tho that “Pretty Woman” is what brought Orbison so much attention.
And I agree. The lyrics fit many situations in life. Including moving to a different city, state, nation or continent. Common sense tells a normal person this, and that one has to adjust, even if they like the new place.
moslims just are not taught to be “normal” and to have common sense.
tim gallagher says
somehistory, just on Roy Orbison, “Pretty woman” was fairly late in Roy Orbison’s time in the spotlight. Earlier songs were “Crying”, later done by Don McLean and then K D Lang, “In Dreams”, Blue Bayou”, later done by Linda Ronstadt, “Only the Lonely’, “Running Scared” etc. His popularity faded for quite a while but then, he sang that song in the 1980’s “She’s a Mystery Girl” and had a bit of a comeback, but then died soon after, I think, in his early 50’s from heart disease. He was very big for a while there in the early to mid-1960’s and had a very good singing voice and sang, and wrote, with another fellow songwriter, some very good songs.
Check Burry says
I vote for that. Well I would if we had a party big enough to take power.

This is not the worst of it. Please visit “Voice of Wales” on Youtube to see the recent illegal dinghy/boat migrants from across the channel from Calais to Dover, where they are processed and accommodated in either 3* hotels or in this case, a renovated Army Barracks in Pengally, Wales, just for their comfort and well-being. But, they don’t like it, and are protesting for quick asylum processing, a better standard of living, and most of all, their freedom. These people are from Iraq, Iran, Bangladesh, Syria, Sri Lanka, Morroco, Tunisia, and Algeria. They have no right to be in the UK at all. But the UK is a soft touch, so most of them will get asylum there, even though they are not from wartorn countries. I really despair for the UK native citizens.

Her complaints are just what islam teaches, they are to look upon non-islamic people as their slaves. It is our duty to provide for her because she follows Bid Moe’s doctrine of islamic supremacy. Send her packing back to her wonderful islamic country that she left behind and close your borders to these ungrateful thugs.
Why our liberals want diversity that allows people like her into our society makes no sense at all. The other question for these liberals supporting open borders why do you live in gated communities and restricted access apartment buildings? Thats not vary diverse or open. Unlock those gates and doors and invite everyone and anyone into your residence. Looks like a double standard if you don’t.
