“On Jan. 8, 2020, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps shot down Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 in the skies over Tehran with two surface-to-air missiles, killing all 176 people aboard, including 138 people with ties to Canada.”
At first, Iran insisted that the flight was downed in error.
Now, however, CBC reports that “the Canadian government and security agencies are reviewing an audio recording in which a man — identified by sources as Iran’s foreign affairs minister — discusses the possibility that the destruction of Flight PS752 was an intentional act,” which he says was “not at all unlikely.”
Iran is a jihadist regime that routinely churns out lies and propaganda. It also sends out thugs to do its deadly bidding overseas; domestically, it hunts down anyone who is regarded as a threat to its regime.
“Zarif is Iran’s primary negotiator with the countries that lost citizens on Flight PS752, and is the voice of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the global stage.” In other words, Iran is investigating itself.
The latest news is a far cry from Iran’s implausible claim — after lying that the attack was an error — that its military “thought the Ukrainian passenger plane it shot down was an enemy missile.” An incoming missile so close by would be headed downward, not upward, as was the Ukrainian jet upon takeoff. A busy international airport is also expected to have air traffic control on a continuous basis.
The latest revelation proves what any observer knew: that Iran cannot possibly be trusted, and that the full truth and motive for this attack may never be found. Zarif “is also heard saying the truth will never be revealed by the highest levels of Iran’s government and military“…..
“There are reasons that they will never be revealed….They won’t tell us, nor anyone else, because if they do it will open some doors into the defence systems of the country that will not be in the interest of the nation to publicly say.”
Meanwhile, the families of the victims live daily with their grief. Even worse, Iran has been targeting them with threats and intimidation; it recently offered, however, to pay the families $150,000 in compensation. The offer was rejected by Ralph Goodale, Canada’s special advisor in the investigation, and former Liberal public safety minister.
Should Iran get away with the murder of 176 people aboard this passenger jet, Canada will be sending Iran the message that it can get away with virtually anything in its quest to shut down dissidents or anyone deemed to be a threat to the regime.
Trump was the only authority who kept Iran at bay.
“Secret recording suggests Iranian official concedes truth about downing of Flight PS752 may never be revealed,” by Ashley Burke and Nahayat Tizhoosh, CBC News, February 9, 2021:
The Canadian government and security agencies are reviewing an audio recording in which a man — identified by sources as Iran’s foreign affairs minister — discusses the possibility that the destruction of Flight PS752 was an intentional act, CBC News has learned.
The individual, identified by sources as Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif, is heard saying on the recording that there are a “thousand possibilities” to explain the downing of the jet, including a deliberate attack involving two or three “infiltrators” — a scenario he said was “not at all unlikely.”
He is also heard saying the truth will never be revealed by the highest levels of Iran’s government and military.
“There are reasons that they will never be revealed,” he says in Farsi. “They won’t tell us, nor anyone else, because if they do it will open some doors into the defence systems of the country that will not be in the interest of the nation to publicly say.”

CBC News has listened to the recording of the private conversation, which took place in the months immediately following the destruction of Flight PS752. CBC had three people translate the recording from Farsi to English to capture nuances in the language.
The details of the conversation, and the identities of the others involved, are not being released publicly due to concerns for individuals’ safety. CBC is not revealing the source of the recording in order to protect their identities.
Ralph Goodale, the prime minister’s special adviser on the Flight PS752 file, said the government is aware of the recording. Canada’s forensic examination and assessment team obtained a copy in November, he said.
Goodale said the audio file contains sensitive information and commenting publicly on its details could put lives at risk….

Who infiltrated? Mossad, again? That’s the all-purpose explanation for Muslim morons, innnit? IT WAS THE JEWWWWWSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Westman says
Bingo. The all-purpose scapegoat for Islamic incompetence.
Westman says
Muslim nations can buy the most advanced Western weapons and receive the best Western or Russian military instructions yet when facing the West in battle they devolve into excited incompetence.
Downing an airliner was only the beginning of what would have continued if the US had responded to the Iranian missile attack. We saw Iraqi incompetence evident in the defeat of Saddam’s army; the same army that battled to stalemates with Iran’s army for 8 years. By extension, Iran may now have better weapons yet in a serious war with the West, incompetence would again be the deciding factor.
What is it that renders Islamic nations incompetent in modern warfare? It cannot be the physical strength which was well demonstrated in the bloody creation of caliphates. It must be tied to managing the complexities of modern warfare, the ability to make quick complex, abstract, decisions and actions. Brain power over brawn.
Maybe the West should be thankful, only in this modern age, that Islam has rendered most Muslims, in Muslim nations, incapable of decisions without the approval of a higher authority, that is, being a slave to Allah requires a sense of needing supervision. To make matter worse, the unfortunate Muslim has memes, like earworms, programmed into his brain, that respond when the Muezzin calls from the tower. Imagine the confusion caused by playing the Adhan as psychological warfare.
Muslim life is scripted, right down to toilet etiquette. No thinking is required. How is such a programmed brain to function in the confusion of modern warfare? Incompetently.
The complex world has trapped Islam in a dilemna if its own creation: Should it become more secular, gaining military strength at the cost of disbelief, or, remain as a weak, religious, “sick man” of the world?
Erdogan thinks he can make Turkey into the world’s leading power with Islam at the helm when it will cause just the opposite. Mustafa Ataturk must be rolling in his grave.

I’m trying to wrap my head around this in terms of motive….
Could it have been “Infiltrators” within the armed forces shot down the plane to discredit the regime?
Could it have been Jihadists within the armed forces who saw the random killing of infidels as a religious duty?
Could there have been someone on the Jet….an Iranian-Canadian perhaps….that the regime wanted dead?
Why a Ukrainian jetliner? A sop to Iran’s Russian allies?
Could the order have come from the highest levels in Tehran….to demonstrate to the world (Israelis and Americans) Iran’s readiness/ability to repel an air assault….in hopes of deterring one?

Recording revealed: Iran’s Foreign Minister says downing of Ukraine jetliner may have been ‘intentional act’
………………………
Well, this is completely horrifying if true.
