I just watched this video. In one part of the video I noticed that Robert Spencer misunderstood Kali Dasi.
Kali Dasi mentioned that her forefathers converted to Islam because there were a lot of perks (for example they no longer have to suffer the 2nd class status) in becoming a Muslim. Somehow Robert Spencer based on his response to Kali, seems to have heard it as if Kali Dasi was saying that they converted because they saw a lot of truth in Islam.

One of the perks of islam was that you get to keep your head over your shoulders. Kali Dasi’s forefathers probably liked the perk. Those who did not like are not around to tell their story.

In the discussion about the Saudis, one thing I think that RS missed was the gap b/w the policies of past rulers and the current policies of MbS. Everything he said about Saudi Arabia – about them bankrolling Wahabism and so on was true
However, a lot has changed since President Trump’s summit in Riyadh in 2017. Some of it may have been the result of the Saudis wanting to not blow the opportunity they had now that the US didn’t have a pro-Iranian administration, and the rest of it was probably the force of circumstances. To summarize:
– Turkey: As a part of his attempts to resurrect Turkish greatness, Erdogan started to position himself as a champion of islam, particularly for non-Arabs. It didn’t take much for him to win over sunni jihadists from Iran, and then countries like Malaysia and Pakistan. MbS probably saw that the more he throws money into converting non-Arabs, the smaller will be the Arab portion of the ummah, and the greater the challenge to Saudi Arabia’s leadership of islam
– Crash in oil prices: As a result of the US opening up the Keystone pipeline, fracking and so on, as well as the turmoil in the Straits of Hormuz and last year, the crash in oil prices due to the Chinavirus, all of the Gulf countries saw their revenues dry up, and for the first time in their history, they had to do budget cuts. As a result, the Saudis stopped funding foreign mosques and dawa projects. Also, they had to keep their largest customers, such as India, happy, and so they picked India’s side on the Kashmir issue, and Pakistan ended up in an alliance w/ Turkey
– MbS himself: he’s the Saudi version of the globalist, perfectly happy to water down traditional Saudi culture to suit his advisors in McKinsey. Normally, for any other country, particularly western country, that would be a bad thing, but in Saudi Arabia’s case, it happens to be good. So all the projects that the Saudis are doing at Neom, trying to become an economy not dependent on oil, modernizing their country and so on, has led to him putting the kabash on islam
While I do believe in being cautious about the Saudis, one thing I do think – that MbS is nothing like any of his uncles who championed dawa and jihad causes for several decades

Two things. First of all, given that deceit is an Islamic sacrament, nothing that a Muslim says should be taken at face value. Secondly, KSA is attempting to fend off Iran’s quest to be Islam’s top dog, so one might expect all kinds of temporary alliances with non-Muslim entities.
Infidelsays
Terry, fair point. However today, seeing how the Arab countries, particularly the Saudis and Emiratis, are seeing the Arab leadership of islam challenged by the Turks and their allies, I think that there is a section of the Arab leadership that wishes that their ancestors and predecessors did not islamize so much of the non-Arab world, be it the Iranians, Turks, Barbers, Nubians, Anatolians, Indians and so on. B’cos what it has done is create an equation where only 0.5 billion of the world’s 1.8 billion muslims are Arab: why would the remaining 1.3 billion accept the islamic doctrine that the Arabs are the best of peoples?
That would be one of the reasons – other than budget cuts – that would explain why there is less enthusiasm for dawa activities outside the Arab empire. There is minimal gain in converting the few Arab non-muslims that are there, and a lot to lose by converting large numbers of non-Arabs outside the Arab League

First , in this Robert Spencer interview he explained about not faking at face value the unfounded claim made by the Muslim propagandists the Islam is the fasted growing religion in the world.
Second , it should be well understood that just because if a religion, any religion , might be growing fast in the number of people who have joined it doesn’t prove that religion actually teaches the truth of God..
As Jesus Jesus taught that He is “the way the truth and the light and that no one comes to the Father except by Him” John 14 6.
Furthermore , Jesus explains ,informed and warned “Enter by the narrow gate ; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction ,and many there are who go by it . Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life ,and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:13.
Third, during this interview it was revealed that some of men who do “convert to Islam to so because they have had been enticed by the concept of having wives. To be more clear by using Mr. Spencer’s exact words ,he said that “Islam is growing because of the idea of polygamy.
Forth, with that in should be thus known that polygamy is not sanctioned by God. For example God gave Adam one wife. Furthermore, in the New Testament Jesus taught “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife…” Jesus said “wife.” Not “wives” Mathew 19:5. [K.J.V.] Likewise, in First Timothy 3:2. In instructs “A bishop the must be blameless, the husband on one wife.” Here again it’s “one wife”
Nevertheless, there are some people who will act as apologists for polygamy by say the king David of Israel and then later his son ,who became King Solomon of Israel did practice polygamy. Such people aren’t taking into account both the time and place. For the only reason that God did tolerate this tradition was not because it was right or that He approved of it. It was because this practice of having many wives was such an entrenched custom in the ancient Middle East that God allowed it for the above mentioned Kings of Israel. This does not mean that this custom, of polygamy, was to keep on going in other times and places.
Walter Sieruksays
In this interview with Robert Spencer he did make it known that Islam allows Muslims to blatantly lie to people who are not Muslims for the growth and power of Islam. .
This Muslim lying is based on the Islamic dogma called Taqiyya .This is the Islamic doctrine the deception is a good thing to do as long as it’s done for the advancement of Islam.
In strong contrast to this practice of Taqiyya is the teachings found in the Bible . For the Bible informs its readers in Proverbs 11:18. “The wicked worketh a deceitful work…”
Likewise, the very next chapter[12] of the same book of Proverbs it reads in verse 5 “The counsels of the wicked are deceit .” Also further on verse 20 it instructs “Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil…” [K.J.V.]

Good point to notice Islam is the fastest growing religion. But the world population grew fastest during the last seven decades in lower income countries, and most Islam countries belong to this group of countries. Then, the (militaristic) sharia law forbids a jihad warriors to defect, basically like every army does.
Then the question why the Pope loves Islam?
Allah is merciful concerning members of his flock, the Muslims, his jihad soldiers. So the jihad soldier that needs some relaxation and does some raping, pillaging, or killing on his own account is easily forgiven by Allah, if the jihad warrior stands reveille when needed by Allah, his commander.
The Pope, dealing with a flock of Christians that are more and more behaving sinless, where it comes to the real serious sins committed, is confronted with a decline in the sales of religious confessional absolutions by his priests.
With all those extremely violent Islam believers around, that everywhere in the world commit top sins on a daily basis, the Pope sees an enormous market to be penetrated for his official absolutions, since Islam does not have this product.
Great marketeer, the Pope, and a very promising religion, Islam, for him and his priesthood.

They don’t convince anyone intellectually. See Singh T Junior’s post at the top of this page: they get to keep their heads. Remember, the sole ‘proof’ muslims need of one’s islam is their reciting the shehada. There is no test about one’s grasp of islamic doctrine in the same way that, say, Jews have on people wanting to enter their religion

This is an excellent discussion and I really appreciated the sound quality. I took particular interest in Robert Spencer’s statement that if a religion is something that connects us to the divine then Islam is a religion. This is certainly true as far as it goes, but is the divine capricious and unjust?
And to be blunt, how it it possible for an omniscient God to be as clearly uninformed and plainly wrong about so many things as the author of the Koran certainly is.

Correction.
I meant to say that by “we” Sarah was referring to India”.
Joeyn says
She said perks since she also said perks means benefits. However she did also answer yes when RS asked her if they were intellectually convinced. Not sure why she answered yes to that as well. However i still believe what she originally said i.e. perks is why they actually converted since i know that is why almost everyone being opressed in some way by Islam converts to Islam (although i personally think that is a stupid move).
Joeyn says
I think
By we she meant her forefathers.
Terry Gain says
JOEYN
I heard her say books, not perks. If she said perks, how do you explain Robert Spencer responding with, “were they saying they were convinced intellectually” to which she responded “yes”.
How do perks convince one intellectually?
Infidel says
Terry, Joeyn is right: Sarah Khan was referring to perks, not books. Essentially, she said that her ancestors converted b’cos there would be less bullying, more rights for them if they converted to islam
Terry Gain says
Infidel
See my comment above. How do perks convince one intellectually?
Infidel says
They don’t convince anyone intellectually. See Singh T Junior’s post at the top of this page: they get to keep their heads. Actually, some other things, depending on which ancestor of hers converted: it may have simply been the right not to be bullied by muslims, or the ability to ride horses instead of bullocks, or other rights that were available only to muslims
Remember, the sole ‘proof’ muslims need of one’s islam is their reciting the shehada. There is no test about one’s grasp of islamic doctrine in the same way that, say, Jews have on people wanting to enter their religion
Terry Gain says
Being the humble person that I am who is always more interested in the truth than the protection of my ego I listened again to see if Sarah said books or perks. The exchange begins at 51:40.
I heard her say books and I heard Robert say books and clearly Robert heard her say books as otherwise his response makes no sense.
At 74 my hearing is not perfect, but my critical thinking skills are still very much intact.

“Sirat Rasulallah”, (“The Life of Muhammad”, by A. Guillaume),
according to Sirat Al-Halabi, Muhammad can have a woman no matter what, even against her will; and if Muhammad desired a married woman, her husband would have had to divorce her.
According to Ibn Sa’ad, who wrote another authoritative biographical account of Muhammad, “The prophet did not die till all women were permitted him” (see Kitab Al Tabaqat Al Kubra, v.8, 194).
read The Sirat Rasul Allah was written by Ibn Ishaq in 750 A.D. It was edited and abridged by Ibn Hisham in 830 and translated by Alfred Guillaume under the title, The Life of Muhammad in 1955 by Oxford Press.

All Western politicians should be required to watch this. The rest of the ignorant West should watch it as well.
Arthur Asghar says
RS: Sir, why did you say “Mohd died in 632 CE, instead of saying “632 AD”?
Infidel says
What’s the difference?
Terry Gain says
The difference is everything. We count time by the year of Christ’s birth. We owe our freedoms to the advance of Christianity.
Infidel says
I know what AD is. Never heard of CE
gravenimage says
CE is “common era”–often used by scholars. But yes–this moves away from Christian references.
Terry Gain says
Infidel
I am surprised to hear you you’ve never heard of CE. I don’t know where you live. I am guessing India. I would say that among non-believers of Christ’s divinity in North America it is more common than AD. CE basically disputes the place of Jesus in history. It is of course an evasion because whether C stands for Current or Common it was the life, teachings, death and resurrection of Christ which created the current or common era. So let’ say “ by CE you must mean Christian Era”?
Infidel says
Actually, I’m a US citizen: left India in 1992, and had visited that country on and off, and still familiar w/ events in both places
Thanks for explaining
