Turkey’s ongoing provocation toward Greece has warranted Greece to “introduce an increase in military service for conscripts serving in the army from nine to 12 months, starting in May, as part of a program to boost the armed forces amid tension with regional rival Turkey.” Greece has also been building up its military with new arms amid threats of war from Turkey, an expansionist country committed to jihad, with its sights set beyond just the immediate region. Turkey is aiming for a revived Ottoman Empire.
“Greece to increase army service amid tension with Turkey,” Associated Press, March 7, 2021:
ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Greece will introduce an increase in military service for conscripts serving in the army from nine to 12 months, starting in May, as part of a program to boost the armed forces amid tension with regional rival Turkey.
The decision made public Friday will bring army service in line with the length of conscription to the navy and air force.
The nine-month term will only remain for army conscripts who volunteer to join special forces services or serve in border areas for their entire term in uniform.
Greece last year began a major military modernization program that will include the upgrade of its ageing [sic] F-16 fighter jet fleet as well as the purchase of new-generation, French-built Rafale jets and a planned frigate order that has drawn keen interest from competing U.S. and European arms makers….

It’s going to be a JIHAD SUMMER. Jihadists now see that the coast is clear. The big bad Orange Man no longer stands in defense of free and stability. Feeble, fragile Quid-pro-Joe will give them the best chance to aggress since 9-11. Jihad will break out everywhere.

Only took a few weeks of feeble, fragile, cognitively struggling Beijing Bribed-en to convince Turkey to get a war started. Bribed-en won’t be able to respond. His mind is befuddled and confused. He’s not sure where he is much of the time.
SAFI says
Huh? Explain please. Which war did Turkey start under Biden? I can think of 3 or 4 conflicts Turkey started or got heavily involved during Trump’s presidency. Yes, it’s very early into Biden’s term so I guess he’ll have plenty of opportunities to prove you right but I kind of wonder where were you hiding these last four years (turkish involvement in Libya , Nagorno Karabakh, regular incursions into Iraq and Syria and more)

You are right that Turkey has been saber-rattling for some time. I do worry that many of these thugs are going to feel further emboldened under Biden’s weak administration, though.
Infidel says
The problem is that since Turkey is a part of NATO and the DC establishment kept drumming into Trump the idea of ‘NATO good’, he took that mantra to its logical conclusion and looked the other way on Turkey. Unfortunately, in foreign policy, there was no one anywhere near his government to advise him on the perfidy of Turkey
I do hope that if he returns, the US has a thoroughly new policy on Turkey, that defines it as a rival and makes it clear that both US and Turkey can not continue to be a part of NATO at the same time
Infidel says
Good for Greece. They should start arms shopping and arm themselves to the teeth. Oh, and leave the EU, citing the latter’s playing footsie w/ Turkey
SAFI says
Leaving the EU will only free those countries playing footsie w/ Turkey from having to keep any pretense.
Infidel says
Those countries, such as Germany, Hungary, are already more influential then Greece, and the latter is in no position to force the EU to adapt an anti-Turkish policy. Greece should therefore seek out anti-Turkish allies, be it the Arab League, Armenia, Israel, and totally seal off its border w/ Turkey in Eastern Thrace, and have its navy all over the Aegean Sea

Good analysis, Infidel.

Certainly makes sense to me, Infidel…

I wish Greece and Israel would form an alliance. Turkey is a common enemy.

So do I, commonsense.

Nine to twelve months? Sorry, but this strikes me as putting a band-aid on a mortal wound and threat.
The Islamic world in general means to destroy the West, whether by stealth jihad, demographic jihad or outright jihad, and moving from 9 to 12 months enlistment in a Western nation like Greece is a feeble response to what is intended for all the West, courtesy of Mo’s creed.
Complete prohibition of Muslims in the West, minus diplomatic personnel who should be watched closely, is what is really required. Even more important is the necessity of returning to the standard Western take on Islam, i.e., it is a gigantic menace to the West and should not get a pass whatsoever. It is spiritual Nazism preaching a master faith as opposed to a master race.
Nine to twelve months? What a joke. The Age of Nonsense marches on. The suicide of the West continues.

This is disgusting from Turkey. Glad that Greece is acting to protect herself.

Turkey under Edrogen has made it clear they’re attempting to bring back the Ottoman days…. These actions follow that script lock-step

Purge Turkey from NATO. Jihadis do not belong in NATO. The purpose of NATO is to stop communists, jihadis, and all other freaks.
