The Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) indefatigably pushes the notion that Muslims are victims of widespread harassment and discrimination in the U.S. This is in order to deflect attention away from jihad terror activity and to buttress the notion that counter-terror scrutiny of Muslim communities is simply more of this persecution. But actual “hate crimes” against Muslims are so thin on the ground that they have to be manufactured, as in this case. Every other prisoner has to take off whatever hat or headcovering he or she may be wearing, for security reasons: a weapon could easily be concealed within it. But for the Islamic supremacist fascists of Hamas-linked CAIR, safety doesn’t matter. Establishing the precedent that Muslims always and everywhere have and should have rights and privileges above and beyond those of the Infidels — that is the only concern.
“CAIR demands changes after Muslim woman was deprived of head covering in Santa Clara County jail,” by Robert Salonga, Bay Area News Group, April 1, 2021:
One of the region’s preeminent Muslim-rights groups is demanding immediate policy and training changes based on a woman’s account that her hijab was forcibly removed while she was booked into a Santa Clara County jail, prompting her to resort to using a sweater then a shirt to cover her head after she was deprived of any replacement.
The demands were made public Thursday by the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, and called for the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office to apologize to the woman — a Muslim of Somali descent — arrange a meeting with the involved deputies, and prevent any repeat instances through cultural and religious competency training and revising jail policies to properly address religious head coverings.
“It is shocking that the (Santa Clara County) Sheriff’s Office, which serves tens of thousands of Muslim families, would permit its officers to strip a Muslim woman of her religious head covering, violating her constitutional rights,” Ammad Rafiqi, the regional CAIR chapter’s civil rights and legal services coordinator, said in a statement….
In a statement, the sheriff’s office suggested that the account described by CAIR was a departure from practice.
“We are thankful to CAIR for making us aware of this incident, and we are investigating the circumstances to determine if policy was followed, including a review of our current booking protocol,” the statement reads.
The woman whose reported experience fueled the complaint was arrested by Santa Clara police in February in connection with a domestic dispute call.
The woman, whose name was not publicized by CAIR out of concern for potential harassment against her, said her hijab was removed by deputies arranging a booking photo at the Elmwood women’s jail in Milpitas.
She contends that she told deputies about the religious significance of her headscarf and that it should not be removed in front of men, and asked that she either get it back or be given a replacement.
When they were unresponsive, she said she used her sweater to cover her head for the rest of the booking process, but then the sweater was confiscated when she was issued jail clothing. The woman said she asked for and received a second shirt to cover her head, but did not get her headscarf back after she was released on bail.
The sheriff’s office said female arrestees are booked in an area away from male arrestees, and contends it provides hijabs when they don’t pose a safety risk based on a mental-health evaluation. But given the claim from CAIR, the agency said it will work “to ensure that our booking procedures provide appropriate safety procedures while balancing one’s religious practice expectations.”
In a statement released through CAIR, the woman said her treatment left her “scarred” and experiencing constant emotional distress….

Cloth in prison can be used as a disguise, a weapon, a means of escape or as a noose for suicide.
All prisoners should wear the same identical uniform so that there is no special privilege. Nothing stops these female prisoners from practicing their prayers in their personal time. No one gets to have the same rights in prison that they have on the outside.

Also true, Mortimer. This is for the safety of the prisoner as much as anything.

Can you imagine how much emotional distress christians experience in muslim countries where you can’t even restore let alone build a church . In Saudi Arabia there was a case where police burst into a prayer meeting of western christians deporting them back to their countries or just recently another case where the last jews were deported from Jemen or Iran imprisoning and torturing christians for having converted out of Islam , I could go on and on . Did you hear CAIR complain about these human rights violations .Instead they complain about a peace of cloth that has caused so much suffering and honor killing for refusing to wear it and the dhimmi american police force is eager to look into this case to improve police procedure when booking muslima inmates . In the West muslims have all the freedom they want and jet it’s never enough it’s a constant whining and demanding and portraing themselves as perpetual victims .Enough is enough , I say ;” Never apologize to them and threat them just like all the other inmates , no special accomodation , no prayer rooms and no halal food and demand an apology from CAIR for interfearing into police procedure .
Savvyone says
The best remedy for that problem is to follow the rule of law and stay out of jail!
gravenimage says
Savvyone, your idea that it is easy for Infidels to “follow the rule of law and stay out of jail” in a place like Saudi Arabia is mistaken. Non-Muslims are often falsely accused of “blasphemy”, low-income Infidels and the non-Muslim wives of Saudis have their passports seized on entering the country and so cannot legally leave without Muslim’s say so, and they are often not paid or raped.
There is nothing just about Shari’ah law.

Or move back to Islamic Country, always DEMAND, DEMAND, DEMAND, GO, LEAVE, GET OUT OF OUR OH SO TERRIBLE COUNTRY.

You speak as if you think CAIR actually gives a damn about any verbal diarrhea they spout. They couldn’t care less about some criminal being somehow, through some extreme mental gymnastics, possibly mistreated. No, CAIR’s (and pretty much all other muslim and leftist “non-profit” orgs in the West) only goal is the DESTRUCTION OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION! They will grasp for, not even straws, but air itself if it somehow allowed them to condemn USA (and the West in general) as racist and evil, and therefore contribute just the tinniest little bit towards its demise and eventual takeover by non-white third-worlders.

All sheriff’s offices, all police departments…without exception…in the U.S. should put up a large poster of r tlaib in the areas where the women are booked, held, etc.
Then when these female mozlums start this scarf nonsense, the cops could point to r tlaib…without a scarf or other head-covering, usually big mouth wide open.
There is also a photo of i omar when she was arrested and booked on a charge of trespassing and perhaps resisting…as she did resist…and she was not wearing her infamous head covering in the booking photo. They could all get copies of those…there are at least two…and post those alongside tlaib.
No one should bow to cair’s demands. Every time some one does, apologies, said they “didn’t know,” “weren’t aware, thanks for the info,” it just gives these lawless creeps a step up the ladder of complete control.
If they don’t want to be arrested, booked, jailed, tried….they should not be committing crimes.
gravenimage says
I don’t think that the police should have to justify US law by pointing at the habits of those who are trying to destroy America.
somehistory says
You have a right to your opinion.
However, there are a couple of things to think about regarding my suggestion. Because my suggestion is not “justifying” the law.
It is actually something that could be considered a legal thing, much like cops will point to other statements in their offices when the members of the public object to a procedure.
One is ****evidence**** that these photos would be that mozlum women frequently go about….in front of large groups of men to whom they are not related, without their head covering.
Another is….whenever someone attempts to keep from obeying a specific law based on their religious belief, the Courts look at the actual teachings of the religion.
Take for instance, the requirements to have children inoculated against certain diseases. If a parent makes the claim that their religion says not to, the authorities have to consider whether this is true. In some jurisdictions, they require a statement from a member of the church governing body…the preacher, elders, etc. that says the member has a religious reason for refusing.
Now, some mozlum women say that they must wear the scarf in the presence of males that they are not related to and yet, some mozlum scholars say not so, that it is a “choice.”
Police routinely have written instructions…laws…written and hung in plain sight.
Like, empty your pockets before entering a courthouse…written on the wall is the fact of it being a law. They could have the instructions about removing head gear, etc. along side the photos.
So you can think as you choose. I think it would be a good idea. Better than giving in to cair…with or without a lawsuit.
gravenimage says
OK, Somehistory. I just think our civilized laws stand on their own, and should not have to be justified by the behavior of Muslims. You can, of course, disagree.
somehistory says
I disagree that it is a “justification.” Justification would be if the cops explained the whys of the issue….see your face, hair, etc. to id you for the courts; keep your from using your scarf to kill yourself; and whatever else the rule is for.
As I pointed out, it is “evidence” that they are Lying…that they are not ***required**** to wear it always, etc.
And furthermore, Lying is a crime in most, if not all, States, when claiming something to the police. In Florida, a liar is subject to a year in the jail, or more in prison if they lie more than once. For each lie, you get a year sentence. One and it’s jail, two or more and it’s prison.
islam has to be put on trial if men wish to put an end to it. Giving in and saying that protocols will be changed, etc. is a very bad idea.
God has put this evil on notice and He will try it…and find it guilty…in His Divine Court. And there is plenty of evidence…of lies, and all acts of violence…that will be stated for the record.
Evidence gathered is not the same as justification. And tlaib going without her headscarf is ***evidence**** that can be used against those who are arrested and lie in order to make trouble, usually ending in a big payout. The police could get written statements mozlums have made that show it is a “choice,” but you probably would have the same opinion of that tactic. After all, all of them are trying to destroy what is so they can change it to their lawless ways.
So, on this subject, yes, we disagree.
gravenimage says
Somehistory, I do agree that Muslims often lie about what is required in their ugly creed–wearing the Hijab, being given time off to pray five times a day, being allowed to skip tests in school during Ramadan, etc–and that this should be pointed out at every turn.
That being said, I don’t think that we should make what is required in Islam the basis of our laws.
Even if every Muslim woman wore the Hijab, I don’t believet these would be grounds for our changing our laws to accomodate Shari’ah law.
And as serious as this issue is, there are others that are much more dire–what if Muslims convinced us that all “blasphemers” have to be beheaded, or all women who speak to unrelated men have to be stoned to death?
I hope we would not accomodate this sort of thing.
PRCS says
Applicable Legislatures should justify laws they craft relevant to Islamic law.
What Islam’s texts actually say about “the veil” is important as that’s THE garb people think of re: this issue.
Does Qur’an mandate “hijab” or not?
Long past time for a face-off between, say, Omar, Tlaib, Asra Nomani, Dr. Qanta Ahmed, CAIR’s Nihad Awad and a few moronically labeled Muslim “scholars” needed to come to what we all know is the correct conclusion:
Some believe it is, some don’t; which would make the “requirement” to wear it just a personal choice.

California: Hamas-linked CAIR enraged, demands apology and policy changes after Muslima deprived of hijab in jail
………………
Yes–I mentioned this story. This insanity happened right in my neck of the woods.
It is obvious that anything that obscures the face or head–masks, helmets, hats, scarves–need to be removed while taking photos for identification and while in custody.
Only Muslims demand that they be allowed to flout this commonsense situation.
Andrew Blackadder says
The Police Dept, the Government, in fact just about everybody, bows down and apologizes to CAIR and CAIR doesnt really care but they must really have a good laugh at the silly infidels bowing down to them each and every day.
The Rules in The Halls of Congress, since 1881, were that NO head covering is allowed inside the Halls of Congress, and along comes a wee lassie from Somalia, of all places, to tell us all just how wrong that is, and once again Congress bowed down to her, her religion, her anti American, anti free thinking, choices, and muslims around the World laugh at our level of tolerance which they see as our weakness while we see it as our strength.
What a tangled web we have woven.
PRCS says
According to the free Qur’an CAIR used to provide (The Message of THE QUR’AN), sura 33:59 states:
“O Prophet! Tell thy wives and thy daughters as well as all [other] believing women, that they should draw over themselves some of their outer garments [when in public]: this will be more conducive to their being recognized [as decent women] and not be annoyed.
To this day, that man-made, seventh-century nonsense, that aspect of Islamic law, makes clear: kuffar women are indecent and have no legal protection from “annoying” Muslim men.
Everywhere, ’til the end of time as Muslims tell it.
Bottom line: does “reasonable religious accommodation” apply in that situation regarding a belief which is–per that ayat–so overtly discriminatory and hateful?
PRCS says
That same Qur’an:
24:31 And tell the believing women….to not display their charms [in public] beyond what may [decently] be apparent…..And let them not display [more of] their charms to any but their husbands……or those whom they rightfully possess or such male attendants as are beyond all sexual desire…..
Does reasonable religious accommodation apply to a belief which specifically addresses slave ownership and eunuchs, too?
Does the dear “offended” arrestee know what that ayat says?
PRCS says
More importantly, does the Sheriff’s Department?

If you want to wear the HIJAB don’t break the law and go to JAIL in the first place. Jail is punishment of loss of your freedom’s that’s a lot better them the treatment of criminals under Muslim rule where they might cut off a hand or foot or your head for minor acts. Follow the laws of America and you won’t end up in jail.
Don Ameche says
A report this morning on FOX radio from Calif Dept on of corrects says Female inmate should prepare for the worst because there are about 280 “transgender” requests which have been granted, Which means MEN will be admitted to women’s prisons in Calif. That ‘muslima’ may find herself the object of ‘attention’.
OLD GUY says
Calif. will probably open a separate prison system for transgender and religious belief and race based offenders. Hell the next thing you know Calif. will put the victims in jail for not being more careful.
