The French Senate has voted to implement a hijab ban for Muslim girls under the age of 18. As expected, an Islamic supremacist activist group, bent on foisting its Sharia values upon Western countries, is robustly in opposition:
Activist and founder of Muslim Women’s Day Amani al-Khatahtbeh…took to her social media to say, “My French sisters, know that we see you, stand with you and fight with you against the globalized Islamophobia that brought us here.”
Meanwhile, human rights activist women in countries including Saudi Arabia and Iran and have faced severe punishment for choosing not to wear the hijab. These two countries are the keepers of Sunni and Shia Islam (respectively).
“French Senate Votes To Ban Hijab For Muslims Under 18,” by Niamh Shackleton, UNILAD, April 3, 2021:
The French Senate has voted to ban Muslim girls under the age of 18 from wearing a hijab.
The vote which took place on Tuesday, March 30, also looks to ban women accompanying a school trip from wearing a hijab and prohibits people from wearing burkinis, a woman’s swimsuit that covers the entire body, in public pools.
French senators who voted in favour of these rules believe the so-called anti-separation bill will prohibit ‘conspicuous religious sign by minors and of any dress or clothing which would signify an inferiorisation of women over men’ being worn in public spaces.
The vote does not mean this has come into law, however. The bill must be confirmed by the National Assembly for this to happen, 5 Pillars UK reports.
Right-wing senator, Bruno Retailleau, described the hijab and burkini as ‘sexist’, a ‘marker of the submission of women’, and the banner of separatism.’
He further said:
Each time we have proposed to toughen this text, especially vis-à-vis the veil and ostentatious signs, the government has backed down.
Stop telling us that the veil is only a piece of cloth while it characterises the claim of the Islamist ideologists to impose on us a counter-society, separate from the national community… The situation is extremely serious.
Amnesty International Europe has since condemned the bill and said that it attacks French people’s rights and freedoms, Muslims in particular.
The organisation’s researcher Marco Perolini said in a statement, ‘Time and again we have seen the French authorities use the vague and ill-defined concept of ‘radicalisation’ or ‘radical Islam’ to justify the imposition of measures without valid grounds, which risks leading to discrimination in its application against Muslims and other minority groups.’
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka is looking to ban the burqa after the country’s minister for public security described it as ‘a sign of religious extremism’…..
Chris from Cincinnati says
Hmmmm…
“Amnesty International Europe has since condemned the bill and said that it attacks French people’s rights and freedoms, Muslims in particular.”
So strangely, Amnesty International stands with Oppressing Women and Young Girls. You wouldn’t expect a Rights group to do that.
What does Amnesty International say about Women who choose NOT to be oppressed and wear the Hijab in Iran and get beaten and imprisoned?
What does Amnesty International say about young girls and women who are Honor Killed for not being covered like the oppressed women that they are?
I am very disappointed in Amnesty International for standing up FOR the Oppression of Women.

I worked with Amnesty at one point, but resigned when they refused to criticise Cuba for doing things for which they were very happy to criticise others.

I used to donate to them, also. Not of late, though, for just this reason.
Andra says
I must admit that I do not really care about the problems for Muslim women with the veil.
Far worse is the fact that the Islamic veil in our nations is dangerous for the indigene women. The veil is a sign for Muslim men which women are infidels an can be raped and killed.
mortimer says
To Andra: the veil ban makes ALL women safer, since it eliminates the distinction between women who are ‘haram’ (not to be raped) and women who are ‘mubaa’ (licit for rape).

Just as many normative Islamic activities are banned in Western countries (e.g. jihad, FGM, backyard slaughtering, preaching violent overthrow of Western governments and soliciting murder of kafirs), so too, BANNING THE ISLAMIC VEIL is another defense of human rights, chiefly the right of women to live without the fear of honor killing because they refuse to wear a veil. By banning the veil entirely, Muslim women will not be in the position of having an option to disobey their ‘masters’ or not.
Christopher Watson says
We no longer allow cannibalism, burning at the stake, hanging drawing and quartering, boiling of missionaries or courts of the Spanish Inquisition. Yet we still allow Islamic imams to enter Europe, FGM, women to wear bin-bags and the rape of young girls. Can’t we try to join the 21st century?
gravenimage says
+1
mortimer says
It should be noted the pseudo-liberal crypto-jihadist and misogynist TARIQ RAMADAN sadistically raped women in his hotel rooms under the pretext that they DESERVED IT because THEY DID NOT WEAR THE ISLAMIC VEIL.
Jim says
The problem is what happens if the law were passed and was not enforceable. And how would the authorities enforce such a law against disobedience? Would there be fines, and how could they be collected. Or who would be punished, and in what ways?
Michael Copeland says
The gendarmes responsible for enforcing this will face considerable, and sometimes violent hostility from the menfolk.

They just want to transform France into a theocratic society … Muslims are misunderstood.
Beneath the Veil of Consciousness says
Simply look beneath the veil of their outrage and one will see their desire to practice male dominance, the active devaluation, suppression, and abuse of women as proscribed by their long dead psychopathic, delusional leader. With this measure, France attempts to address the increasing threat to their culture. This is France with a 5% muslim population. I can’t imagine it at 10%. It indicates the level of concentrated toxicity inherent in Islam.
gravenimage says
France is officially 8% Muslim–and the real numbers may be even worse.

gravenimage,
Makes one wonder if muslims are told by their imams to purposefully *not* identify as muslim to government census takers – for “stealth” jihad purposes.
Not sure if this is true, but it would certainly make sense…

This would not surprise, James.

In a recent article, in some town in France, (Trapper?) there are the mozlums going about as though they believe they have the “right” and authority to harass women who do not wear the ugly dominating-slave scarf.
Perhaps the man, Bruno Retailleau, who spoke up about doing it right this time as opposed to “backing down,” could cite this fact to the idiot amnesty creep as evidence of “valid grounds” that women are hurt by this mozlum demand.
gravenimage says
Yes–that is this disgusting story:

This is a good move. I think that every time the barbaric Muslims are given the message that their garbage is not welcome or acceptable in our civilised western countries, it is a good thing. Maybe a few of the invading barbaric, primitive creatures will get the message that their crap is not welcome and bugger off back to their primitive, outdated Muslim countries. A better approach is to not even let Muslims into our countries in the first place in the way that Hungary does, but it is too late for many of our countries because we have, unfortunately, let many Muslims in. Islam, with all its outdated crap, is completely incompatible with our western values.

Absolutely no doubt about what that imam is saying, Michael. Islam is totally incompatible with so many of the values that are fundamental to our western way of life. To my mind, the problem we have is that so many people in our countries don’t seem to have woken up to this yet. The Hungarians and the people in the other Visegrad bloc countries must have woken up because they are doing the right thing by shutting out Muslims, who are the clear enemy of our way of life.
PRCS says
The “veil” is a simultaneous expression of both modesty AND supremacism.
1. (Qur’an 33:59) 1400 years ago, whoever wrote Qur’an declared that veiled Muslim women, distinguished from the kuffar “as free respectable women”, were not to be molested–by Muslim men. “Unbelieving” women, of course, remained fair game, and still are where Islamic law is THE law.
2. (Qur’an 24:31) Muslim women may only expose their “ornaments” to a lengthy list of family members and to their slaves and eunuchs.
Having never been abrogated–as only “Allah” can change Qur’an”–the veil remains, everywhere, an intentional expression of Islam’s superiority over “unbelievers”
France, and other Western governments, and so-called journalists, need to learn what Islam actually teaches and use that discriminatory, hateful nonsense against both Muslims and their useful idiots.
Tell them, straight up, that the kuffar women in our lives are not “filthy” and that Muslims–despite what Islam teaches- are not superior to us.
Period.

France: Senate votes to ban hijab for girls under 18, citing ‘inferiorisation of women’
……………..
Good to hear! Bravo France.
The Hijab is disgusting in any case; but veiling underaged girls shows that Muslims sexualize even small children.
And why not? Pedophilia is a core part of Islam–the “Prophet” Muhammed himself married a six-year-old child and started raping her when she was nine.
James Lincoln says
Great point, gravenimage.
And to think that muslims most highly respect and venerate a pedophile murderer…
gravenimage says
Yes–the most hideous figure to be considered a “perfect man” and model for behavior. Literally hard to imagine how he could be much worse.
tgusa says
So it is OK as long as they are over 18? Islam is a male dominated culture. The French are just saying that the men cant legally (publicly) inferiorise women until they are over 18. The French will never change their culture but the French are hoping against hope that they can.
gravenimage says
Still a step in the right direction–at least this prevents underaged girls from being forced into a Hijab.
tgusa says
The French did two things here, legalize the inferiorisation of women as long as they are over 18, assure the decline of underage muslimas in public. The females of islam will always do as they are told by the men around them, or else. Some females might not like the new law but the law is the law.
I don’t generally curse but if you don’t want to read a curse word read no further…
Where did all of these fucking idiots making laws in the west come from? I’m getting pretty tired of them.
gravenimage says
I take your point, tgusa–but still applaud *any* movement in the right direction.
tgusa says
The so-called tiny minority of extremists have many terrified and rightly so. The maniacs drive the culture. Moderate muslims are in as great a danger or more than so-called infidels.
Lavéritétriomphera says
@tugsa,
“The females of islam will always do as they are told by the men around them, or else.”.
Don’t diminish the role of Muslim women in the Islamic communities. They are the ones the first who requested the authorization to wear the veil in some Muslim countries and elsewhere.
tgusa says
That is true Lavéritétriomphera but none of them would risk the repercussions of requesting not to wear the veil. If any of them did we would have another “muslims enraged” headline.
gravenimage says
Muslim women are a mixed bag–some wear the veil out of fear, but some are true believers just like Muslim men.
tgusa says
Yes and it is impossible to know the actual numbers.
