British foreign policy and international affairs “experts,” and the far-left Independent, feel compelled to peddle this nonsense because the alternative is to face the fact that Islamic texts and teachings contain numerous exhortations of violence against non-Muslims. To pretend that this strife arose when “climate change” is supposed to have begun is to demonstrate ignorance of the 1,400-year history of jihad, or a refusal to accept its implications. For the Independent’s claim to be remotely true, there would have had to have been stability in the Middle East before there were supposedly man-made shortages, droughts and crop failures. Yet the Umayyads, Abbasids, Ottomans and other Islamic entities all waged jihad, even when they were wealthy and powerful. Michael Fallon either doesn’t know this, or hopes you don’t know it. Acknowledging it would destroy the political and media elites’ entire “religion of peace” narrative.
“Stability in the Middle East now depends on how serious we are about tackling climate change,” by Michael Fallon, Independent, April 11, 2021:
Countries without regular power and sufficient water are prone to shortages, droughts and crop failures, all of which foster insurgency
Beyond the terrible conflicts in Syria and Yemen, and the continuing threat of a nuclear Iran, the Middle East is changing, and so is the west’s security relationship with it….
PRCS says
The Middle East’s problem is Islam and overpopulation.
Crusader 666 says
PRCS, you have captured the Middle East’s entire problem in one short sentence!
tom parry says
solution listen to herr Merkel and spread your reproduction in Europe.
James Lincoln says
PRCS,
Yes, that about covers it…
tim gallagher says
I agree, PRCS. Islam will always produce strife and neverending violence, and, as you also mention, overpopulation. It has been that way for the 1400 years that Islam has been around, so I can’t see how this recent climate change stuff is the “cause” of the strife. In fact, those people who keep telling us that Islam is peaceful should take a look at the endless violence in the Middle East and they might wake up and see how fundamentally violent Islam is. However, I guess some people will never wake up and see the truth.

“Islam will always produce strife and neverending violence”
Of all Qur’an verses which mandate that, this (IMO) is number one:
(Qur’an 9:29) Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allah, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
tim gallagher says
Yes, PRCS, it’s all right there in the Muslim playbook, the Koran, and very clearly in the passage you cite. Definitely, a recipe for neverending murderous violence. There’s no secret as to why Muslim countries are always violent and chaotic.
gregbeetham says
Yes the real reason for instability in the Near East and the Middle East is overpopulation; in short they breed like rabbits and outstrip their resource base. For example Egypt has a history of periodic major famines and they never learn, after each famine which decimates the population they do the same thing all over again.
Take the current situation in Yemen, the place always was very marginal for survival and once do-gooders arrived to save them with modern medicine and well drilling the population went from around 1.5 million in the early 20th century to the approx 27 million it is today with the result the water table has fallen about a thousand feet and risks salt water encroachment, this has already happened in Iraq, some places are no longer viable farmland due to salt water, Syria has also lost its ability to drill for water because the water table has receded faster than it gets replenished.
None of that has anything to do with global warming, it is purely overpopulation.
PRCS says
Add the negative effects of unregulated deforestation, and……
James Lincoln says
PRCS,
Yes, look at Haiti…
PRCS says
Yes, and so many more.
tim gallagher says
Very interesting information, gregbeetham. 1.5 million increasing to 27 million. What a disaster and, as you say, they have totally destroyed the water table. I guess the result will be a whole lot of Muslim “refugees” invading the less fucked up parts of the world, that is, the western world, which is what seems to happen endlessly.
Robert_k says
Islam leads to overpopulation and inbreeding which leads to shortages, and antisocial behavior which foster insurgency.
PRCS says
Shortages: backfilled by other countries. LIke ours.
Mark Spahn (West Seneca, NY) says
Mr. Fallon is behind in the terminology. What used to be called “global warming” was renamed “climate change”, and now the latest term is “climate emergency”. See

Islam is a complete way of life, so there must be a passage or two in the Quran or Hadith about what to do about this. Anybody got a concordance of Islamic scripture?
gravenimage says
Mark, ludicrously Muslims have claimed that Muhammed was “an environmentalist”.

Those Mid-East countries who face famine, crop failure, etc. might look for solutions in their own backyard. It’s not as if Israel hasn’t developed technology for dealing with these problems. e.g. crop failure (drip irrigation), water shortages (waste water recycling and desalination), etc. A little less antagonism (a lot less, actually) and some cooperation would go a long way to solve these problems. But they know that already, of course. Those solutions might have had something to do with the Abraham Accords. Get on board boys.
Climate change is inevitable regardless of what we do to try to stop or slow it (I’m not suggesting slowing down or stopping our efforts) but any human efforts will likely take eons to have much effect. In the meantime, go with what we’ve got.
Christopher Watson says
Now we know why William the Conqueror invaded in 1066: it was climate change! It was SO obvious!

Independent: ‘Stability in the Middle East now depends on how serious we are about tackling climate change’
……………
Just laughable. Israel, subject to the same “climate change” as every other polity in the Middle East, is a civilized, stable nation. Muslim countries, not so much…
This is not about “climate change”, but ideology–specifically Islam.
tim gallagher says
Very good point, gravenimage, about the difference between Israel and all those hopeless and hopelessly violent Muslim nations in the Middle East.
gravenimage says
Thanks, Tim.
And other dry places are not like Muslim countries, either–Arizona, say, or parts of Australia and Chile.
tim gallagher says
Correct, gravenimage. No, it is, without doubt, Islam that stuffs up all these Muslim countries. Islam, and all its backward rubbish ensures that these people keep shooting themselves in the foot endlessly.
shoehorn says
‘Countries without regular power’ …Texas? ‘and sufficient water are prone to shortages, droughts and crop failures, all of which foster insurgency’
The climate scam is meant to stop the West from using specific resources (coal and meat) that every other civilisation has used for thousands of years. Our destruction is assured if enough Westerners are convinced we’re to blame for a non-problem.
gravenimage says
Agreed, shoehorn.
Krishna says
There are many countries that pass Middle East latitude and how come they are so peaceful with same climate change disturbance
Andrew Blackadder says
Judea/West Bank, Gaza and Israel, ALL live in the same Landscape, the same Climate, all rather close to each other, and yet only one of those places is now a Hi Tech Corridor with plenty of fresh water and a modern infrastructure… Guess which one it is…. FYI, its not a trick question…
PRCS says
Uh, er, um….
Can I get back to you on that?
Giacomo Latta says
Perhaps if these poor, unfortunate (and coincidentally muslim) countries spent as much money on reverse osmosis as they do on rocket launchers and a standing army then perhaps they would not have to complain about their environmental conditions. But, of course, it would be harder to make a claim on entry into Europe.
OLD GUY says
The British must be beginning to feel that they must pay retribution to the people that they enslaved and dominated hundreds of years ago. Wonder if they will send me a check, my family left Ireland during their rule. Boy that will but a dent in the royal crown.
Blaming global warming for the stability of the Middle East makes no sense at all. First off the Middle East has almost never been stable, and as long as Islam and non-islamic people are part of the Middle East there will be fighting. Islam demands the slaughter or enslavement of non-islamic people. That won’t change until the Middle East freezes over.
Now that would truly be climate changing.
Walter Sieruk says
What nonsense. It’s Islam that the major problem in the Middle East not the weather.
Moreover on June first of the year 2017 on television on the Smithsonian channel was a program about the ecology and the dangers posed to it that would be harmful for all living things, including humans. Likewise in Summit on the subject of climate change held in Europe by the different countries in the ecology is, very obviously, viewed as a very important topic to many people.
Therefore, all of this is somewhat reminder that once when I was watching television a scientist was interviewed and he was, most likely, sincere when he said the in forty years unless drastic changes were enacted to stop the pollution of the environment living conditions on earth will be uninhabitable for all life. So environmental issues of this plaint are extremely important. The point is that interview with that scientist on television was in the year 1967. Now it’s the year 2017 and thus fifty years sine he said “In forty years “ there will be awful environmental disaster.
This should tell all thinking people something.
