Israeli officials believe that President Joe Biden may be just weeks away from inking a new nuclear deal with Iran. Jerusalem “will not be surprised if within weeks the US and other world powers sign a deal with Iran,” an Israeli official told media.
The Biden administration is currently engaged in European Union-mediated talks with Iran to restore the Obama-era nuclear deal. The White House has already made major concessions to Tehran, including sanctions relief, revoking enforcement of the U.N. weapons embargo, and removing the terrorist designation of an Iranian-backed Yemeni jihadi group.
The Times of Israel reported Israeli officials’ comments:
Israeli officials on Sunday night expressed concern that the Biden administration will rush to rejoin the nuclear deal with Iran, arguing that Washington’s negotiating power is compromised by its eagerness to clinch a pact.
“Both sides, the Americans and the Iranians, want a deal. The Iranians smell that the Americans want an agreement at any price,” an official told Channel 12 on condition of anonymity, following a top-level security cabinet meeting on the issue.
“The outcome is known from the start — a return to the Iran deal with amendments,” the official added.
The official said such a deal, in the long term, “will restrict Israel’s freedom of movement. It’s very troubling.”
Another senior Israeli official told the Axios site that they feared a deal could come very soon. “We will not be surprised if within weeks the US and other world powers sign a deal with Iran.”
As the Biden administration spares no effort in appeasing and cajoling Iran to restore the 2015 nuclear pact, the rogue regime has renewed threats to destroy Israel.
Major General Hossein Salami, the head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the regime’s military wing, declared that the Jewish State would soon “disappear” from the map. At the same time, he boasted of the regime’s support for Hezbollah and other Palestinian terrorist groups at a public event, Israeli media reported on Monday.
The threats made by the IRGC chief were not limited to the Jewish State alone. “The annihilation of all the devils of the world who stand against Islam will continue,” Salami added.
The destruction of Israel is a stated policy of the Iranian regime as it advances its nuclear weapons program. Last May, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s called Israel a “cancerous tumor” in the region that “will undoubtedly be uprooted and destroyed.”
Israeli broadcaster Arutz Sheva reported IRGC chief’s threats:
The commander-in-chief of the Iranian military said Israel would soon “disappear”, while touting Iran’s efforts to bolster the Hezbollah terrorist organization’s “plan to defeat the Zionist regime”.
Major General Hossein Salami, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, addressed mourners at the funeral of Mohammed Hejazi, deputy commander of the Quds Force, Monday morning. [IRGC Quds Force] Brigadier General Hejazi died Sunday of a “heart condition” the Iranian military said, without providing additional details.
“Together with our Hezbollah brothers, [Hejazi] laid the groundwork for destroying the rotten Zionist regime.”
Salami warned Israel not to celebrate Hejazi’s death, saying the Jewish state would soon “disappear”, wiped away by “nation you expelled”. (…)
“Do not be happy, we will continue on our way and no one will leave this front and the trenches are always full of men who do not have armor behind them and swords have been drawn from the hands of the youth of the Islamic nation. The annihilation of all the devils of the world who stand against Islam will continue.”
Alarmed by Biden’s push to restore the Obama-era deal, notable Israelis belonging to the country’s defense and national security community signed a joint plea urging the White House to reconsider its policy.
The Washington Free Beacon published the excerpts of the letter addressed to the Biden White House:
A group of more than 2,000 former high-ranking Israeli military, law enforcement, and intelligence community officials are warning the Biden administration against inking a new nuclear deal with Iran, saying the rush to negotiate with Iran directly endangers Israel and its newfound Arab allies.
The letter, penned by Israel’s Defense & Security Forum, or Habithonistim, is the clearest sign to date that Israel and its Arab allies in the region are united in opposition to the Biden administration’s efforts to rejoin the 2015 nuclear accord, which they view as fundamentally flawed and an immediate threat to regional stability. In addition to Israel, leaders from the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia have expressed concerns about America’s diplomacy with Iran and efforts to unwind sanctions that have brought the Islamic Republic to the brink of collapse.
“We are troubled that the Biden administration and a handful of European countries are promoting a return to the Iran deal while disregarding the concerns of those closest to Iran, most vulnerable to Iran, and most knowledgeable about Iran,” the officials write in a letter obtained exclusively by the Washington Free Beacon. “The Iranian regime explicitly and publicly seeks the destruction of our country and the toppling of governments of the Arab countries with whom we have made peace. Preventing Iran from obtaining the capability to build deliverable nuclear weapons and confronting the regime’s malign activities are essential to preventing catastrophe.”
While the Biden White House offers the Iranian regime relief from sanctions imposed under the Trump era, Tehran is ramping up enriched uranium, the key ingredient needed for a nuclear bomb.
Biden’s appeasement of the regime forces Israel to act unilaterally against the existential threat of a nuclear Iran.
“An agreement with Iran that will pave the way for nuclear weapons — weapons that threaten us with destruction — we will not be obligated to such an agreement in any way.” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said while marking the Holocaust Remembrance Day last Wednesday.
Last weekend’s attack on a top Iranian nuclear weapons site may have been one such attempt to derail Iran’s nuclear weapons program. The regime was using the secured underground facility in Natanz to enrich near-weapons-grade uranium.
Buraq says
These centrifuges are extremely delicate, sensitive instruments. If cutting off electrical power instead of gradually powering them down is enough to destroy them, then there must be other ways to destabilize them.
For example, an electromagnetic pulse from a device exploded above Natanz and/or Fordow would fry every electrical device within these military complexes. Computers, electrical circuits, centrifuges, everything that is powered by electricity, would be reduced to a smoldering, tangle of wires and cables.
Then, bumbling Biden and his team of appeasers would be rendered surplus to requirements.
Go Israel!

I hope so, Buraq.
David says
The type of the device which delivers an electromagnetic pulse is a nuclear explosive device, as far as I am aware. Am i correct?.

A deal with Iran is a dangerous prospect. Iran already has missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads to Europe and any other destination within 5000 miles. It won’t be long before they can hit the United States. Biden and his ilk don’t care about our safety and certainly don’t care at all about Israel. I cannot believe that he was elected President. He is a disaster.

Biden is a fraudulent president.
There was *massive* fraud in the 2020 US Presidential Election which be *fully* exposed in the coming months…

I have a question for the people who comment here at Jihad Watch, many of whom would have been following this issue of Iran’s getting a nuclear capability far more closely than I have been doing. As I live in Australia, where the thuggish Chinese regime is more of a problem for us in the near future, I haven’t followed this issue all that much. Wouldn’t Israel, who the nut jobs that run Iran would definitely seek to destroy if they ever got a nuclear weapons capability, take care of business and wipe out any nuclear capability that Iran developed? Is that what commenters here at Jihad Watch would expect to see happen? Israel would surely not be able to let the fanatical, loony mullahs that run Iran get a nuclear weapons capability.
Wellington says
Your queries, tim gallagher, are sound and good ones. And yes, Israel will take “care of business” and not let Iran develop a nuclear capability (though I can’t state this with absolute assurance should super-woke Lefties come into power in Israel, super-woke Lefties being in any Western nation virtually always capable of making asinine and even suicidal decisions).
In any case, it would be a far better situation were a responsible, tough, resolute America standing side by side with Israel. That will never happen in the ongoing debacle which is the Biden Administration, which seems determined to get everything ass-backwards, including sucking up to Iran and destroying the partial Arab rapprochement with Israel cleverly orchestrated by Trump and Pompeo.
Israel is on its own while Dementia Joe is POTUS. Israel knows this. Will act accordingly I believe.
Finally, I understand how Australia’s biggest problem is the Chinese regime. No good can come to Australia from sucking up to Xi and his cronies. Damn shame Trump isn’t still President because here he would have Australia’s back. Biden most definitely will not.
Infidel says
Wellington, not just Australia’s, but even our biggest problem is China. Australia has not been sucking up to Xi: if anything, Australia has seized the initiative in confronting China for originating and spreading the Chinavirus, something that the US couldn’t do since Dr Fauci was busy bankrolling the Wuhan institute of Virology. But when Biden got elected, unnoticed was a high level meeting b/w Australia, India and Japan – the 3 other members of the Quad – on how to deal w/ China absent a major US priority here (since they all know that Biden’s policy would be totally different from Trump’s)
Right now, Biden wants to delay withdrawal of our troops from Germany, but Ramstein is just a jobs program for a country that hates us. Had he been serious about Russia like Trump was, they would not be threatening Ukraine again, b’cos Kyiv would be getting armed to the teeth. And Turkey too is one of our ‘allies’ here, despite being deeply in bed w/ Beijing, just like most muslim countries are. Our #1 adversary in the world is China, due to not just their military but also their economy, but the cretins in DC continue to pretend that it’s Moscow. And last week, they finally confirmed what Trump told us all along – that Moscow did not pay the Taliban bounties on our troops
Australia, India and Japan have the right priority: China. We did too until the end of last year, but now that’s over, thanks to all the Republican cowards who could not force the law to be followed in the states where it mattered
James Lincoln says
Excellent analysis, Infidel.

Thanks, James!
tim gallagher says
Thanks for the enlightening information, Wellington and Infidel. I was pretty sure that Israel will have to wipe out Iran’s nuclear capability, when it gets one, because those mullahs would be crazy enough to try to annihilate Israel. China is a massive problem. It is a huge country, ruled by a loathsome, inhumane regime, which has always been waiting to throw its weight around and pretty much run the world, and now it sees its chance to do so. Australia copped a threatening lecture just yesterday from the main Chinese diplomat out here because our government had dared to ditch Huawei as the provider of some big communications network (not sure exactly what – I should pay more attention) because the government knew that Huawei would be involved in spying and would be a danger. The Chinese diplomat said that it was because we are choosing to side with the USA and we would regret it. China keeps on threatening Australia. As you mentioned, Infidel, Australia demanded some honesty about the Covid virus and China got pissed off and nasty over that. China will probably be busy taking over poor old Taiwan for a while, but, some time off in the not too distant future, I really do believe this giant thug of a regime will possibly even take over Australia. Australia has all this iron ore, coal, good agricultural land, etc, and Australia’s population is only 25 million up against the Chinese giant. China certainly seems to get pissed off very often by Australia. That scumbag of a regime doesn’t like any country speaking up against them.
Infidel says
Tim, Regardless of Australia’s population, you have a leader who stood up to China, got Papua New Guinea out of one of their debt traps, has cemented a solid alliance w/ Japan and India, the latter who almost matches China in terms of population power (something that the Chinese seem to believe in but Indians don’t), and who could simply say no to China taking over squat! Yeah, I understand free markets and capitalism and all that, but that’s not a suicide note: countries are at full liberty for security reasons to deny certain transactions that are detrimental. Last year, after India’s tiff w/ China, aside from all the Chinese apps that got banned, India also banned Chinese companies from owning any stock in Indian companies, operating Indian oil tankers that were transporting fuel b/w different ports and so on. Australia can do the same, even if it can’t match Chinese labor prices (the way India can) or have a workforce that China does
I believe you guys do need to overhaul your electrical grid system, which was laid down by China, or else you’d be at their mercy in future. That sounds like a major project that could potentially employ everybody in Australia who needs a job
tim gallagher says
Infidel, today, we have the Federal Government of Australia stepping in and stopping the Victorian state government from letting China finance some infrastructure projects in that state. It looked like being one of those “Belt and roads” scams where China lends piles of money to some country (Papua New Guinea and Pacific island type nations seem to be targets), then gets power because the nation or the state (in the case of Victoria) can’t pay back the loan. Victoria, always the most left wing of our states it seems, was going into partnerships with China and also Syria and some other Arab country, and the Federal Government has just said, nope, this is not in Australia’s interests to do this type of deal. China will, no doubt, be threatening Australia yet again over this. I think almost everyone will applaud the decision and probably most Australians have woken up to China and would love to have nothing to do with the evil regime there. However, China already has bought a lot of land and businesses, etc, in Australia and also, I think our universities rely on large numbers of Chinese students to keep them going financially. Probably, to get anywhere with China, pretty much the whole world needs to gang up on the behemoth and say that its way of doing things isn’t acceptable at all.
Infidel says
Tim, it may sound counter-intuitive, but Australia should do exactly what any communist country would do in such a situation: nationalize all Chinese owned property in Australia. Yeah, Beijing will scream bloody murder, but that’s no different from what any communist country, particularly they, will do! You have that famous quote from Lenin, “The capitalist will sell us the rope we use to hang them”. Well, a capitalist should be prepared to play by the same rules that the communist plays by when dealing w/ them. Even if it’s something they wouldn’t normally do, and even if it goes against their principles. Sound familiar?
I do get the sense that most Australians have woken up, just as most Indians have woken up: last year, after their border clashes, China replaced Pakistan as India’s #1 enemy in surveys of the Indian population (which makes sense since Pakistan is economically now a colony of China, and an economy worse than that of Bangladesh). And like Gravenimage pointed out in the last thread, these 3 countries – Australia, India and Japan have put together a supply chain deal to counter China. I’d suggest adding Vietnam to it as well, as there is no other country that matches China on both price and skill levels that Vietnam does
tim gallagher says
Thanks for the comment, Infidel. Maybe most of the world is waking up to China these days. I’m glad to hear that India is very aware of the danger that China represents. Out here in Australia, I do believe that most people have had enough of China’s thuggish reactions to anything Australia says that is critical of China. Most commentators are saying that Australia definitely has to break free of the huge amount of trade we do with China. Developing more trade with India is mentioned a lot. I think all the countries in Asia are very concerned about China, the big bullying thug, so I’d say our countries will get together in strong alliances to counter China. Japan and South Korea would be concerned for sure. Vietnam would be very concerned, as would Thailand and the Philippines. It will be interesting to watch developments.
Infidel says
Tim, one last comment from me – Australia should consider joining ASEAN, if it’s not there already. It will certainly make breaking away from China easier
tim gallagher says
Good suggestion, Infidel. My last comment on this issue as well is that it will take some time for Australia to break away from China’s tentacles, but nearly everyone out here can see that it needs to be done.

Weak old feeble-mined unAmerican anti- Israel , pro-Islamic Joe Biden might be weeks away from signing of a disaster of a new Iran nuclear deal.that would be tragic.
Maybe it’s just the same despicable Obama/ Iran “deal” is a new box.
Therefore, this again is a reminder of when Obama was in power and signed his hoax a”deal” with Iran.
At that time I had attended a special lecture a a church given by a former Iranian citizen and a Hezbollah member . He is now a Christian and an American citizen.
After the lecture during the question and answer part , he was asked “What about this Obama’s Iran nuclear deal that so much in the news recently ? ”
The speaker replied “It’s a disaster, it’s a disaster for America ,it’s a disaster for Israel ,it’s a disaster for the Iranian people and a disaster for the world.”
As already said this Biden nuclear “deal” may just be a repackaging of that disaster ofthe Obama Nuclear “deal”
Therefore it’s a calamity about to happen.
