“Islamic terrorist groups”? What? But Hillary Clinton said in 2016 that “Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism.”
"Let’s be clear: Islam is not our adversary. Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism."
— Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) November 19, 2015
So if Muslims have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism, how could there be Islamic terrorist groups?
Anyway, Clinton’s warning that there could be a “resumption of activities by global terrorist groups, most particularly Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State” is ridiculous. These groups won’t “resume” activities because they never ceased activities. Scroll through Jihad Watch’s Afghanistan category and you’ll find abundant evidence of that.
Clinton also worried over the fate of the “many thousands of Afghans” who “stood up and spoke out for women’s rights and human rights.”
Can she name 100 of them? Fifty? One? Afghanistan is hardly a bastion of women’s rights now. Our leaving is hardly going to make a difference in that respect. Hillary Clinton is doing her bit for her friends in the military-industrial complex who want the war, and their profits, to continue. And she may well succeed. Don’t be surprised if the withdrawal is called off.
“Hillary Clinton: Islamic terrorism and ‘huge refugee outflow’ could be consequences of Biden leaving Afghanistan,” by Chris Pandolfo, The Blaze, May 3, 2021 (thanks to Henry):
Former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic nominee for president Hillary Clinton raised concerns over President Joe Biden’s withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, warning of “two huge consequences” of leaving the war-torn region in an interview Sunday.
The first consequence is “the potential collapse of the Afghan government and a takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban,” Clinton said.
She warned that civil war might resume in the country if American troops leave, a concern shared by U.S. commanders in the region who opposed the withdrawal over fears the Taliban could overrun Afghan armed forces without American military support.
Clinton added that the United States has an obligation to protect “many thousands of Afghans” who worked with the U.S. and NATO, those who “stood up and spoke out for women’s rights and human rights.”
“I hope that the administration in concert with the Congress will have a very large visa program and will begin immediately to try to provide that channel for so many Afghans to utilize so that they are not left in danger,” she said, predicting a “huge refugee outflow” if Afghanistan spirals into civil war.
The second major consequence of U.S. withdrawal, according to Clinton, is the “resumption of activities by global terrorist groups, most particularly Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State.”
Acknowledging that there has been a “sharp drop in both capacity and action on behalf of Islamic terrorist groups,” Clinton said she wouldn’t count on that “downward spiral” lasting if the Taliban retakes power and provides refuge for Islamic terrorist groups.
“The Taliban has never been willing to separate itself from Al-Qaeda,” Clinton pointed out….

I think she slipped. Just like she had emailed Chelsea in 2011 admitting to her that the Benghazi attack was a planned attack and not the result of a YouTube video ‘Innocence of Muslims’ (made by an Egyptian Copt who’s now a homeless man in California), she forgot herself this time as well and conceded that there are in fact islamic terrorists. Maybe Tony Blair should try and contact her and set her straight
Actually, there was a feminist organization in Afghanistan called RAWA (Revolutionary Afghan Women’s Association) which used to condemn all parties – Taliban, Northern Alliance, US troops and everyone else for the oppression of Afghan women, and I’m sure that they’ll bitch about the US troops leaving, but that’s their problem. It’s not our job to transform Afghanistan into something that it hasn’t been for at least 1000 years

We cannot change Islam or the trial warlord lifestyle with a military. Didn’t Osama say they would make our country bankrupt with wars? Whatever, there are smarter ways of keeping things down without men on the ground or contractors (or goldmines & poppies) Some Muslims have to tell them that the warlords who wrote up the Qur’an put it up WRONG & its their duty to set it right. They got lots of things wrong and the ‘dancing boys’ are just one of the ugliest ways of life Mid East normalized. Yet they can’t stand the idea of normalizing Peace with Jews, Christians, Hindu, Sikh, ETC or that Abraham has to be shared. I wish I had never heard of Islam. Now I feel angry all the time.

…………..
No consistency or logic here. It is just that pulling out of Afghanistan after almost twenty years of fruitlessly trying to turn them into a civilized nation was a Trump idea–so it must, ergo, be bad.

Does this remind anyone of Neville Chamberlain’s rose-colored drivel after Munich only to be slapped in the face when all of Czechoslovakia was TAKEN by the Germans? History may not repeat, but it can rhyme.

No. This is not so much like Munich as it reminds one of Vietnam (and Iraq of course). Someone keeps screwing with the Tarot cards and fogging up the White House’s crystal ball.

She should take all the famous Dem muslims w/ her – Ilhan, Rashida, Linda, Keith Ellison, Huma Abedin, as well as Biden’s Pali advisors. They can get a nice mansion near the Pamir mountains, and ski in their burqhas

Clinton is completely daft. So long as Afghanistan is Islamic it will tolerate Islamic terrorists. Does she want America to stay there for 100 years? In the meantime her Democrat party is supporting the Islamic terrorist government of Iran.

Many governments and elites are lying about Islamic jihad. Why? perhaps they know personally a “jolly type of Muslim ” who is not invested in the violent arm of political Islamic Jihad? We know they are lying! why they bother I do not know, it just makes them look like more of what they are – partisan bigoted liars who couldn’t give a rats arse how many innocent citizens die at the hands of Islam

“Islam is not our enemy”.
In addition to being a supremacist, totalitarian conquest ideology, Islam is opposed to freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of conscience, gender equality and equality of citizenship. In addition it is misogynistic and anti-gay.
Islam is indeed the enemy of civilized people. All of us know that. But so is Hillary Clinton. And that is a point that needs to be emphasized.

Afghanistan was a Buddhist Nation long before the islamic savage warriors conquered it and forced everybody to bow to islam, or be beheaded.
Now the new “Mission” in Afghanistan, is to make sure the wee girls can go to school, are they really assuming we are all that stupid, or what… Dont answer that, its not a trick question…
She is right on one thing though, ALL the Afghani people who worked with the American Troops should be given a free pass to the USA, if they wish, as they will be the first people the savages in the Taliban will hunt down and slaughter…. Brutally..
This bitch is pure evil, beyond words, worse than her husband, and as she said when she was campaigning, that in her first year in the Oval Office she will bomb Iran and start regime change in North Korea and yet those Of The Left, who sing Give Peace a Chance, and IMAGINE, ALL wanted her as President unlike that anti War guy… Donald Trump..
This Planet has shifted slightly off its Axis, Im sure that must be the reason everything makes little sense any more.
But then common sense aint too common these days.

More Americans will die is we stay in Afghanistan.
Frank Anderson says
GI, Americans are going to die somewhere. It is the proclaimed mission for all time that muslims kill or enslave non-believers. They are not going to stop killing because the US and NATO leave Afghanistan. They will continue killing using opium, which will fund other killing. Wishing for peace is “nice” but is a total waste of time and delusional. There is no peace in the House of War.
I think opium and the drug trade may be the equivalent of the German petroleum industry in WWII. When that industry was crippled, the German war machine nearly fell apart. Thousands of planes were built that never flew. Pilots never received adequate training. Tanks moved little. And of course a lot of ammunition was not produced or never reached where it was needed.
gravenimage says
Frank, it is true that all Americans are going to die at some point–but it does not have to be in the vain hope of civilizing Afghanistan.
If we isolate Islam, it is *much* less likely that Muslims will be able to murder us. Muslims will have a much harder time treating us as the “House of War” if we stopped allowing Muslims in, and began deporting Jihadists.
As for the poppy fields, even our with troops in Afghanistan the opium business is still mushrooming there.
We could likely target the poppy fields with drones–I don’t think that we have to be present to do this.
Opium is certainly a source of income for the Taliban and other Jihad terror groups.
But it is not the only source. Here is a breakdown of funding sources for Al Qaeda from ten years ago:

Frank Anderson says
GI, the 1400 year problem is not going to be escaped, or avoided. War was declared then and will never stop until one side wins and the other loses. The only question is which side. I certainly agree that short of turning Afghanistan into a glowing glass parking lot, it will never be civilized as long as islam is in control. Dale Carnegie’s teaching to “cooperate with the inevitable” comes to mind in that the inevitability of war and conflict is not accepted; and instead Frankl’s delusion of reprieve prevents many people from facing the reality of islamic teaching and plans. I think part of our shared effort is to help more people see that islam is just not going to melt away like a snowman in the sunlight. It attracts thieves, killers and slaves who wish to obey a leader without the burden of thinking or being responsible for self or others.
You might be interested in a trilogy I am reading. I completed the first book today, The History of the Third Reich by Evans. He does too much name-dropping; but writes a great deal of detail and analysis that I find helpful in understanding how Germany came under the Nazis. It is remarkable to me that his comments on the willful avoidance of the truth helped so much to bring the Nazis to power and then to destroy the nation. “Those who cannot remember the lessons of the past are condemned to repeat them.” Jorge Santayana, The Life of Reason (1905). We are watching that willful avoidance today in “liberal” communities around the world, including here in the US..
Walter Sieruk says
It had been said the “Even once in awhile , but not often, even the Devil speaks the truth.”
Likewise, it may also be ,truly, said that “Even once in awhile, but not often, even that corrupt mean old harpy, Hillary Clinton speaks the truth.”
As in when she said that “Withdrawal from Afghanistan will mean a resumption of activities
by Islamic terror groups. “
