“Islamophobia exists just like anti-semitism. However, it has become a political tool to silence the critics of Islam. Criticism of any religion is not the same as discrimination against its followers.”
I’m not sure “Islamophobia” exists, it depends upon how it is defined, and it rarely is. But the rest of this anonymous statement is spot-on, and is what I have been saying for years. However, the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and its allies have for the moment completely won the day. It is taken for granted that criticism of Islam consisting of opposition to jihad violence and Sharia oppression is “racism,” “bigotry,” “Islamophobia.” But as this is a revolt against reality and a victory of spurious propaganda, it is certain not to last.
“Has Islamophobia become a political tool?,” WION, May 4, 2021:
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday requested the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to vehemently counter Islamophobia and the false equation of Islam with radicalisation and terrorism.
Islamophobia exists just like anti-semitism. However, it has become a political tool to silence the critics of Islam. Criticism of any religion is not the same as discrimination against its followers.
The Pakistan government has decided that there would be no compromise on the country’s controversial blasphemy law, days after the European Parliament adopted a resolution calling for a review of Islamabad eligibility for the General Scheme of Preferences Plus (GSP+) status in wake of an “alarming” increase in the use of blasphemy accusations in the country.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the vilification of Islamic precepts and religious personalities, wrongly justified under the garb of the right to freedom of expression or opinion, hurts the sentiments of 1.5 billion Muslims around the world.
However, Pakistan fails to question its ”all-weather friend” China on its exploitation of Uighur Muslims in concentration camps.
The European Parliament, in its latest session on Thursday, adopted a resolution demanding Pakistan to allow space for religious freedom and urged the EU authorities to review GSP plus status for Pakistan amid the increasing number of blasphemy cases.
Pakistan’s blasphemy laws, both in content and application, are contrary to Pakistan’s human rights obligations to respect and protect the right to life, freedom of thought, conscience and religion or belief, freedom of opinion and expression, equality before the law, prohibition of discrimination and the right to life….

Wellington says
“Islamophobia is not a freedom.”
Freedom is considerably lessened precisely to the extent that the stupid term, Islamophobia, is treated seriously. No one who takes the term, Islamophobia, seriously should be taken seriously or be considered an ally of liberty.
Infidel says
Wellington, and that includes the author of this WION piece. Hence my post below
mortimer says
The ‘Islamophobia’ slander’s purpose is to limit freedom. The 164 JIHAD VERSES in the Koran are a challenge to the FREEDOM to CONTINUE BREATHING, the most basic freedom there is.
If there is no questioning of the 164 JIHAD VERSES in the Koran, then we kafirs have no freedoms at all.

WION’s Gravitas panel is a fraud! Despite sounding an anti-Pak editorial here, they keep making fraudulent claims about islam, and taking its side against the likes of other anti-Islamic policies of countries like Sri Lanka and Burma: months ago, they were dinging Sri Lanka for banning burials. They also make false statements of what is or isn’t allowed in islam (on the subject of vaccines being halal or not) and draw a false equivalence of religions like above
Islamophobia is nothing even close to anti-Semitism. In fact, as muslims like to point out, Arabs too are Semites, and so a better term for anti-Semitism the way it’s normally meant would be Judeophobia, as former JW poster Eliyahu used to call it years ago. That one is nothing but an irrational hatred of Jews based on a few things like behavior described in the Old Testament, Jews believing that they are the chosen people, and some of their practices like circumcision and shibboleth slaughter of animals. None of them are rational reasons to be anti-Jewish, but there they are
Islam, otoh, has enough things, from jihadist violence to shariah supremacy and a whole lot of barbaric religious practices codified in stone into law. There is nothing irrational about any fear of islam. Just this week, in Left Bengal, it has been found out: despite winning a thumping electoral victory, the ruling secular (read pro-islamic) party’s muslim thugs went on the rampage, even beating up Hindu supporters of their own party. And then there is human trafficking sanctified by their texts. Non-muslims have every reason to be wary of muslims: it’s not a phobia, as that Indian broad Palki seems to think
The only thing that WION deserves to be congratulated for is calling out the 5 pretender leaders of islam – Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Malaysia and Pakistan – for not saying a word about the Uyghurs
Wellington says
Well expressed, Infidel. I am in agreement with you again.

Yes I have watched that Palki Sharma of Gravitas spewing out BS propaganda on her shows. Unfortunately many Indians seem to be willingly falling for her nonsense.
Infidel says
She sounds all the right notes on China and Pakistan, which endears many Indians to her. I too was taken in until I heard her rants against an Indian court for absolving BJP leaders of the demolition of that Ayodhya mosque, and her disdain of Home Minister Amit Shah’s assertion that NRC was applicable to all of India, not just to Bengal and Assam. But it was when she started showing her TDS colors last year that I tuned her out: particularly disgusting was one commentary equating Trump to Erdogan
And when she talks about islam, like others on the Left, she pretends that she’s an expert on the religion, weighing in on whether vaccines made using haram methods would be okay or not, during a report on Malaysia and Indonesia grappling w/ that issue. And then when Sri Lanka decided to ban burials on fears of ground water being potentially affected if Chinavirus infected patients were buried, again she weighed in like she was the expert. And when she interviewed that Chinese virologist Dr Lee Men-Yang – who Tucker Carlson was the only other person who interviewed – she confronted her on why she partnered w/ Steve Bannon. Like she was unaware that everyone else was beholden to China
From the comments on WION’s YouTube videos, it looks like a lot of people, particularly in Europe, are romantically enamored w/ her. Well, she’s married, and her husband is an anchor of the secular NDTV network. I’ve seen some speculate that Zee’s owners have reigned her in, otherwise she’d have been a lot more woke than she already is
Infidel says
‘Reined’, not ‘reigned’. Oh, and did I mention how pretentious she is? – Absolutely like your typical woke Leftist
JOEYN says
In all Islamic countries including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Malaysia and Pakistan, freedom of speech is heavily curtailed for non-Muslims while Muslims are allowed to say whatever they please against the religions of the infidels. They are also allowed to incite violence against the infidels.
Yet in Western countries the Muslims who are minorities are fighting with the help of the Left and succeeding in curtailing the right to free speech of the majority so that they can continue their jihad activities unopposed in destroying Western civilization.
This is really sad and dangerous.
RichardL says
it is much worse, Joeyn: in Egypt, you cannot insult Christianity, but you can kill Christians. That sort of double standard confuses the issue for people not aware of the situation and they think, the law protects religions and their adherents in general. Judaism is not protected at all. Violence against all other faiths (their are not regarded as religions) is mandatory.
JOEYN says
This is really sad. Our only hope is the West especially the US does not fall to the Left and the Islamists.
Unfortunately many infidels in Islamic nations have been propagandized by the Left as well as the Islamists into holding the Left of Western countries in high regard while seeing the Right (who are the only ones standing up against the Islamists in the West ) as racists and supremacists

Despite WION’s assertion, that carefully crafted word–Islamophobia–does NOT mean what the public has been conditioned to believe.
Islamophobia is an irrational fear–not the appropriate fear of those who act out “Allah’s” literal word–but of the inanimate objects which animate them: Islam’s texts.
somehistory says
It didn’t “become a tool,” It was created to be a tool, actually, a weapon.
It was coined to be used against any person telling the Truth about islam, anyone asking honest questions which mozlums don’t want to answer, and generally having a negative view of islam and the actions of mozlums.
Anyone complaining about the mass murders, the mass gang rapes of young girls, rape and torture of slaves by mozlum groups in Syria and Africa, has committed what mozlums consider as the unforgivable offense.
Pointing out the pay-for-slay” of the pa in Israel, the discrimination practiced daily against Christians in pakistan, offering evidence of fraud, murder of family members, or what their book of lies and filth have to say, is considered as the offense they cannot allow to pass by.
And, it is nothing like what mozlums do daily in regard to Jews and Christians. Or even what the anti-Jew, or anti-Christian who is not mozlum has to say on the subject of those owhom they are against.

A phobia is an irrational fear. Critics of Islam simply point out its degeneracy, perversion & the worship of the worst in Human Conduct. Clear, concise, logical reasoned views of this Fascistic, Misogynistic, Paedophilc ideology.
Andrew Blackadder says
muslims around the entire World are playing Westerners for the fools they believe we all are, and they use this rather effective word, islamophobia, to shut everybody up, but not me, fuck em, as they scream death to everybody, yet call themselves a religion of peace, when in fact they are a Fascist Religious Cult that practices hate, pure hate, for everybody that is not of their faith in Satan.
If I tell a muslim fellow that I think his religion appears to be very violent, and he then turns around and attacks me very violently for saying this, then I must ask…..Is he being a good muslim by doing so ?.
OTTER says
A simple question to Muslims: Can I draw a respectful imagined portrait of your ‘prophet’?
If not, why not? Am I not entitled to reconstruct the past through my imagination?
I totally back the cartoons as they are freedom of press exposing a fraud and history’s biggest hate monger.

Otter, I used to hear about that Hindi book on Mohammed called Rangoli Rasool, and often wondered why anybody bothered to write that. Then in OpIndia, I found out that some 100 years ago, the original book was written by someone in retaliation for local Indian muslims writing derogatory stuff about Hindu deities – not even saints. Ultimately, he was murdered for writing that book, after 2 failed attempts
I’m happy to leave muslims alone, but that’s predicated on them leaving our icons alone! Be it deities, saints, heroes, institutions and whatever!

Fred van de Bunt says
The question is if the Pakistan blasphemy laws lead to crimes against humanity, which is a grave breach of generally accepted international law. I would say YES. Why?
Religious persecution is seen as a crime against humanity.
Religious persecution can occur in two ways. One way is to persecute followers of a religion. The second way is to persecute the ones that do not follow a religion.
In many Islam countries the second way of persecution is found in many instances.
For instance if one is being born with a different sexual orientation that is (religiously) prohibited and punishable by law. Or if one does not feel obliged to wear a scarf, as prescribed by (religious) law. Or if one expresses Allah does not exist, which constitutes blasphemy, punishable by (religious) law.
So in Pakistan crimes against humanity are integrated in Pakistani laws, like in so many Islam countries, that have laws that run parallel to the human rights declaration of the Organisation of Islam Countries, that declares that sharia laws are the highest law standards for humanity.
One can try to diffuse the spotlight away from these crimes against humanity that are committed, by rumbling about Islamophobia, and the evil of connecting Islam with terrorism, but that does not acquit criminals from their criminal acts against humanity.
JCA Reid says
Hypocrites! Look at the Quran & other Islamic Texts – FULL of HATE Speech!! Muslims & their Apologists simply don’t get it. Idiots as well as Hypocrites.
OLD GUY says
Islam talking about hate speech is a sad joke. Talk about hate speech, just listen and read most of what comes out of islamic teachings and there clergy. It’s hard to find anything they say that isn’t full of hate or violence against others. The definition of Islam should be “CRULTY”
Ideology says

What Kadhija Angela Merkel, Yusuf Tony Blair, Amehd Nicolas Sarkozi , Mohammed Barack Hussein, Sawda Hilary and Yasser Bill Clinton did to the Beatifull Europe and the United States of America is the most aborrent stupidity, imbecilite to allow in the Western Culture-Civilisation the nefarious, pernicious, degradant, insidious POLITICAL IDEOLOGY disguised like “religion”?

I’m sure that what these Muslims, like the creep holding up the banner in the photo, mean by Islamophobia is any kind of criticism of islam. The banner is a load of lying garbage. Criticising Islam, or Islamophobia, definitely is a freedom and no freedom could be more important. It is our cherished freedom of speech which Muslims hate. Islam deserves constant criticism. This is the usual Muslim bullshit. Of course, in Muslim run countries, criticising rotten Islam, would not be a freedom that is allowed. Islam is incompatible with all the important values of the western world. It doesn’t belong in non-Muslim countries and it should not be allowed to poison our countries with its garbage. How about the hypocrisy of saying (as on the banner) hateful speech is not a freedom. Muslims constantly spew out hate for non-Muslims. They spew out more hate and aggressive speech than any other group of people. That banner is bad joke.
