Jihadist regimes have long understood the benefits of indoctrinating children to wage jihad and glorify martyrdom. And so it is no surprise that under Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the jihad ideology has spread into schools:
According to a recently released analysis of 28 Turkish textbooks, that country’s education system, which was once a model of secularism that taught evolution, cultural openness, tolerance toward minorities, and Kurdish as a minority language, has increasingly replaced those concepts with notions of jihad, martyrdom in battle, and a neo-Ottoman and pan-Turkist ethno-religious worldview in its curricula.
It gets worse:
recent curricula — in a NATO country that has long aspired to EU membership — include anti-American and anti-Armenian messages, display “sympathy for the motivations of ISIS and Al-Qaeda.”
Turkey should long ago have been expelled from NATO.
“This Time Turkish, Not Saudi, Schoolbooks Are Under Scrutiny,” by James M. Dorsey, Algemeiner, May 3, 2021:
According to a recently released analysis of 28 Turkish textbooks, that country’s education system, which was once a model of secularism that taught evolution, cultural openness, tolerance toward minorities, and Kurdish as a minority language, has increasingly replaced those concepts with notions of jihad, martyrdom in battle, and a neo-Ottoman and pan-Turkist ethno-religious worldview in its curricula.
The report, by the Israeli research group Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (Impact-se)…assert that recent curricula — in a NATO country that has long aspired to EU membership — include anti-American and anti-Armenian messages, display “sympathy for the motivations of ISIS and Al-Qaeda,” focus exclusively on Sunni Muslim teachings, and replace electives such as Kurdish with religious courses.
The textbooks promote concepts like “Turkish World Domination” and the Turkish or Ottoman “Ideal of the World Order,” the report said.
“Education is a prime pillar in [President Recep Tayyip] Erdogan’s efforts to drape the country in the cloak of Sharia… The Ministry of Education has been pressuring citizens to conform to conservative Islamic practices in public schools,” commented Turkey scholar Soner Cagaptay in a forward to the study.
The study was released as Turkey was attempting to repair relations with Europe and Middle Eastern states, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Israel, that were bruised by Ankara’s aggressive assertiveness in Libya, Syria, the Caucasus, and the Eastern Mediterranean.
Erdogan spoke in a video conference to European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in advance of a European summit that was scheduled to discuss relations with Turkey.
The conference came a day after the EU shelved plans to blacklist senior executives of Turkey’s state-owned Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) in retaliation for Turkish drilling for natural gas in disputed waters in the eastern Mediterranean.
The report is likely to add to skepticism about an 11-point human rights action plan recently unveiled by Erdogan that he said would bolster freedoms and legal protections.
Erdogan has undermined freedom of the press and the independence of the judiciary, and arrested thousands on often flimsy charges since he defeated a failed military coup in 2016. As a result, Turkey ranks today as one of the world’s foremost jailers of journalists.
Turkish police recently detained several officials of the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), days after a top public prosecutor demanded the party’s dissolution for alleged links to Kurdish nationalist militants. Parliament also expelled an HDP deputy, undermining Erdogan’s effort to suggest that he is adhering to values projected by Europe and US President Joe Biden….

In this twenty-first century conflict between the Judeo- Christian West and the Islamic East which also has been termed “The war of Ideas” the West needs ideas for its very foundation and defense that is far superior to something as weak and worthless as just “opinion.”
What the West needs is wisdom. As the Bible instructs “Wisdom is better than strength.” Ecclesiastes 9:16. [N.K.J.V.] Likewise, this same book of the Bible also teaches in 9:18 “Wisdom is better than weapons of war.” Therefore, wisdom is in strong contrast to opinion. Also greatly opposed to wisdom is folly and deceit. As the Bible in Proverbs 14:8 informs the reader ‘The folly of fools is deceit.”
This deception of deceit may be seen, by all those who are willing to see, in the Islamic doctrine of a virgin filled paradise designed specify for the male Muslim jihadist who dies in the jihad for the cause of Islam, in what they so inappropriately call a “martyrdom operation.” Many a times a jihadist/Muslim is so very deluded the he actually put on his video recording that after he dies in the jihad as a “martyr” he will then in paradise have a “wedding with virgins.” This firm but blind unquestioning folly is the result of such a man believing in deception of a false doctrine. With Light of the Wisdom of Jesus a belief in a “wedding with virgins.” is the outcome of a person accepting as the “truth” an invalid and false. For Jesus taught “you are mistaken, not knowing the Scripture nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as the angles in heaven.” Matthew 22:29,30.
A jihadist will after dies and such a murderous way will have a very hard and harsh “reality check” In that “his expectation will perish…” Proverb 11:7. For he will then discover that he was deceived by false doctrine and lie of “a paradise with virgins” and to his shock and horror he will find himself trapped and suffering ,with no hope of escape, in the fires of hell. As the Bible teaches a murder “will not inherit the kingdom of God,” Galatians 5:21. This is sad and tragic but nevertheless it’s the reality of the truth.
Walter Sieruk says
Any jihadist ,be he a Taliban Muslim or not just after his Islamic suicide /homicide attack right after he died ,to his shock and horror, he found himself trapped and suffering in the fires of an awful place the Bible calls “hell.” Luke 16:19-31. That jihad minded Muslim of ISIS was dangerous to self and others because that he was indoctrinated with and likewise believed in the doctrine found in the Quran, 44:54. 55:56. 78;31.,of a lust –filled sex paradise with many virgins, in in for his use only, because he died as a “martyr” for the cause of Islam.
That jihadist will discover the hard way that he was instructed in and put his faith in a false doctrine that is from a false religious book of false religion .This doctrine of a paradise for the jihadist who died fighting for Islam was only an enticing religious story of fiction. The Bible does give warning against giving “heed to fables…” First Timothy 1:4. [N.K.J.V]
As for dying in a murderous jihad attack, in spite, of the Muslim clerics falsely calling it a “martyrdom operation.” That jihadist after in dies in a jihad murder attack, and learn too late, the truth of Bible with informs its reader that a murderer “will not inherit the Kingdom of God.” Galatians 5:21.
In addition, such false teachers, as those imams and mullahs, who teach and ingrain false yet enticing doctrines as that a lust /sex fill place with virgins into the hearts and minds of others had been predicted in the Bible. For it is written, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine , but according to their own desires , because they have itching ears , they will heap up for themselves teachers ; and they will turn their ears away from the truth and be turned aside to fables.” Second Timothy 3,4.

Yeah, Saudi Arabian schoolbooks are now supposed to be introducing students to basic concepts of other cultures. I saw someone do a presentation of a multiple choice quiz about various aspects of Buddhism & Hinduism, and was stunned. It would have been a surprise being done by any muslim country, including Bangladesh, but what took the cake was Saudi Arabia, of all countries, doing it. Of course, I don’t trust the Saudis: I give full credit for this to MbS
As for Turkey, it’s no surprise that they support ISIS: that should have been obvious from the fact that all the foreign recruits who managed to get to Raqqa did so not via Syria (who would have purged them) nor Iraq, but rather Turkey. And that wouldn’t have happened w/o the full acquiescence of Erdogan. If one disbelieves this, try recruiting militiamen to go to Armenia, and try getting there via Turkey, and see what happens. There would have been no ISIS recruitment had Turkey not made the passage from Europe to Raqqa seamless via Gaziantep

it is notable that turkish education system, also teches children as young as four sympathy for al qaeeda and isis…. did you all expect otherwise in a satan worshipping country chalifate like turkey that has been waging war since 2011??? in fact all of this has been taught for years before erdogan started the war in syria and iraq with isis and alqeeda mercenaries…..

So will Old Sleepy Joe cut off all Aid Money to Turkey now that its known they hate America, or will Old Joe increase the payment in order to appease those folks who hate us with a passion, after all millions of US$ are going to Pakistan to help them in their Gender Studies Program, while the Pakis laugh and laugh and laugh, just as all muslims are laughing around the World at the way we are being played by savages.
Tell me again why Turkey is in NATO when they are nowhere near the North Atlantic and why would they be even considered to join the EU when they are not even in Europe..
The mind truly boggles these days of the out right stupidity practiced by so many countries leaders.
SAFI says
I’m all for cutting all “aid” money to Turkey and even ending trade with them until they reformed and gave up on their evil ways, but the schoolbooks glorifying jihad predate the 3&1/2 months Sleepy Joe’s been sleeping in the White House and US money and military tech did not stop flowing to Ankara during his predecessor’s stay either.
Regarding NATO you’re right Turkey is obviously not located in the North Atlantic but one could hardly say that Greece or ex-Warsaw Pact Czechia, Hungary and Romania are. Clearly NATO is a metaphorical name. The alliance hasn’t really been North Atlantic ever since Italy joined back in 1949…

Turkish schoolbooks glorify jihad and martyrdom, include anti-American messages, sympathy for ISIS
…………..
Yes–ugly, ugly stuff. Turkey is *not* an ally of ours, and does not belong in NATO.
mortimer says
Turkish school children are being indoctrinated to hate and kill Americans.
James Lincoln says
Does Turkey have to show any more proof that they are not an ally of the United States?
So exactly why are they still in NATO?
Infidel says
James, I think Turkey would have to launch a military attack on the US somewhere or the other before our ruling class loses the illusion that they are an ally. Just like 9/11 convinced enough of us that Saudi Arabia ain’t one either
SAFI says
Are you sure even that would work? I can easily imagine the lobbyists turksplaing why it all actually was America’s fault for not extraditing Fethullah Gulen thus leaving our ally Erdogan with no other choice but to launch that ICBM on the US Capitol and how it would be a big mistake to further “alienate” our ally by not rolling over and converting to Islam to restore trust ?
OLD GUY says
Our ruling class has no illusion, they are on the Saudi oil money train. Our colleges and universities are loaded with money from the Middle East, along with our corporations and yes political contributions. If you can’t defeat America in a war, BUY the leadership open the borders and invade through migration.
Look at what is happening in Europe with the islamic migration. It is not diversity it is the destruction of culture and society taking place before our eyes. And yet our political leaders want to go down that slippery slope.
Americas enemies around the world want to take us down at all cost. Corruption of political leaders is easy when you are talking millions of dollars in off shore numbered accounts.
James Lincoln says
OLD GUY,
Diversity has the potential to be a good thing.
But…
That is ONLY true, as long as different ethnic groups put the culture / laws of the host country first.
Different ethnic groups in the United States make up our “melting pot.” Dance, music, cuisine, art, etc., add richness to a society – as long as the different ethnic groups assimilate into the host country’s culture – as far as putting *that* culture first. Learning the language, obeying all laws, etc., of the host culture.
Very very different from multiculturalism with muslim (or other) no-go zones – which never works…
OLD GUY says
Islam is anything but diversity, it is all about total domination, that’s the problem.
James Lincoln says
Agree.
