The story also contains this: “Sanchez looked on as a man intoned the Muslim evening call to prayer beneath the orange trees of the church’s central courtyard…”
The adhan, prayed in Arabic, goes like this:
Allah is greater (Allahu akbar); intoned four times.
I testify that there is no God but Allah (Ashhadu anna la ila ill Allah); intoned twice.
I testify that Mohammed is Allah’s Prophet (Ashhadu anna Muhammadan rasul Allah); intoned twice.
Come to prayer (Hayya alas salah); intoned twice.
Come to security/salvation (Hayya alal falah); intoned twice.

Dr. Gavin Ashenden, former chaplain to the British queen, who resigned his position in protest against a Qur’an reading in a Scottish church, observed that “the Muslim call to prayer is a dramatic piece of Islamic triumphalism. It proclaims Islam’s superiority over all other religions, and in so doing casts Jesus in the role of a charlatan and a liar. The Muslim god, Allah, is unknowable and has no son. Jesus was, therefore, a fraud in claiming He and the Father are one.”
Is Santa Anna church in Barcelona really wise to allow on its grounds a declaration of the superiority of Islam, a faith that directs its adherents to make war against Christians and other non-Muslims and subjugate them as inferiors under the hegemony of believers (cf. Qur’an 9:29)?

It’s about the term “people of the book”. Apologies for posting the link since you might not allow people to do that. Not trying to get more numbers…just trying to tell people that ISLAM IS ONE BIG LIE from the get go and one lie within the larger lie of Islam is that “we are all people of the book”. The historical term says otherwise. (Robert Spencer would know. Please tell me if I am wrong about the term.)

BC, while there are considerable errors in the Koran, it is not ‘one’ big lie. There are a few hundred elements in Islam that do not conform with the facts, whether scientific or literary facts. The Koran contradicts itself in dozens of places. I would agree if you said that is Islam was a ‘con job’. In fact, I believe that most of the mullahs know in their secret thoughts that what they are doing is to con people to believe something that they themselves know is filled with anomalies and errors.
A leading Islamic teacher only last year said, ‘The standard narrative of Islam HAS HOLES in it.’ This is tantamount to admitting that Islam isn’t perfect, and thus, if not perfect, it isn’t from ‘Allah’.
He implied that this information should be hidden from the mass of Muslims because they would lose their faith.

No doubt some atheists (mainly Leftists) view Islam that way; but many of the atheists on this site (and I’m one of them), are a lot more circumspect and do not take this superficial approach. Most educated atheists – at least those with a scientific background – understand that the evil doctrine in the Quran, is not the product of any supernatural entity (for which there is no evidence), but simply the hallucinations of its psychopathic author.

The normal variation of human characteristics spans the whole spectrum of physical, and psychological differences. But most important for this argument, is the fact that their personalities also range from the meek and mild to the impulsive and aggressive – and even the narcissistic and psychotic. As psychologists know, there are psychopaths in every human community (usually a very small percentage, < 1%). Many of these people become involved in criminal activities, and in Western countries often end up in jail; but in Muslim countries, they are the ones most likely to become jihadis – and they are often lauded for the death and destruction they cause. And from Muhammad's thoughts in the Quran, and his behavior in the Hadith and Sira, it is obvious that he was also one of these people similarly afflicted.
Just because atheists have no religious beliefs, it doesn't mean that they don't understand the supernatural foundations of religion. Most of us have abandoned religion for that very reason – because there is no evidence for any supernatural domain, except in the eye of the beholder. It's not that atheists don't understand the religious explanations of human behavior, but that religious people don't understand its scientific basis; and some of them reject it with a vengeance. They always look to explain evil in terms of the ancient pre-scientific explanations in their scriptures; for them, evil must be personified or caused by some mythical demon or Satan; because that was the only thing early humans could imagine at the time.
On the other hand, atheists have advanced somewhat since the time of 'Jahiliyyah' (sic), and in the 21st century explain evil from the scientific data they collect in the real world. There have been literally thousands of research papers published on studies into human behavior. I can't think of anything more ridiculous than trying to counter the beliefs and doctrines of one religion, by using arguments from another – since both are based on the same supernatural precepts – unless they are purely philosophical or moral.
The Quran is not the product of some "demonic seed", but a toxic mix of religion and politics dreamed up by its psychopathic warlord prophet who was trying to control those around him.

To help Muslims in their Ramadan ‘struggle’ (i.e. jihad) is to help Muslims prepare to defeat Spain’s Roman Catholic majority … not again! Is that what they want to do? Then they should not do it.
The leaders of Santa Ana’s are heirs to Count Julian of Ceuta who is credited with inviting the Muslims to Spain. They then took over Spain for 781 years.

You cannot change your religion on a whim. I lived in Spain for many years and still go back often. A lot of Spaniards are committed RCs but don’t tend to make a song and dance of it.They tend not to be regular churchgoers (leaving it mainly to the females).
The rise of Vox who are staunchly anti-islamic is a promising sign in Spain. Equally the right-wing won in the Madrid elections last night.
Many Spaniards are using politics to express their anger rather than religion.
BTW Catalonia is horrendously left wing.

Infidel, there have been bad popes before–this does not mean that all Catholics have to leave their religion. In fact, it is heartening to see good Catholics standing up for their faith.
But of course some have chosen to leave for just this reason–including Robert Spencer.
And Ecosse, *everyone* has the right to change their religion if they so desire, on a whim or for any other reason (of course, a good reason is preferable, but not mandated). It is not the case that Catholics cannot change their religion.
It is only Islam that forbids its devotees to leave, under threat of death.

A few years ago a friend sent me an article that was about a Coptic Church in Cairo Egypt, where the Priest allowed a muslim cleric to come into the Church and scream allo snackbar for the delight of everybody, and my friend suggested that this now means the Coptic Christians and the muslims will now be friends, so I asked my friend to let me know when the muslim cleric allows the Coptic Priest to enter his mosque and say and prayer….Im still waiting and that was years ago…
