My latest in PJ Media:
“To some,” CNN tweeted Friday, “Ashli Babbitt, who was killed in the Capitol riot, was a terrorist. To others, she’s a martyr and seen as a recruiting tool.” Twitter’s legion of blue-check Leftist propagandists immediately protested that other “terrorists” are seen as martyrs as well. Never-Trump former Bush consultant Matthew Dowd likened Babbitt to Hitler, who was responsible for the murder of twelve million people in Europe, and actor Terry Kinney likened her to Mohamed Atta, who was partially responsible for the murder of nearly three thousand people on September 11, 2001. In their indignation, however, they ignored the fact that CNN’s language was clearly designed to lead their tiny remaining audience to take Trump supporters for terrorists.
Of course, the comparisons Dowd and Kinney made were monstrous. How many people did Ashli Babbitt and the Capitol rioters kill on January 6, 2021? None. There isn’t even any actual evidence that their entry into the Capitol building really constituted an “insurrection.” But CNN’s tweet was little better. It was framed in exactly the same way it would have been if CNN had actually been talking about a jihadi: “To some, Osama bin Laden, who was killed in his compound in Pakistan, was a terrorist. To others, he’s a martyr and seen as a recruiting tool.”
Recruiting for what? Those “far-right terror groups” that loom so large in the Left’s imagination, but are so hard to find in reality. CNN’s story that was linked from the tweet makes this explicit: “‘She is going to be used for many, many years,’ said Simon Purdue, a fellow at the UK-based Centre for Analysis of the Radical Right, who last month wrote an article on the significance of Babbitt’s supposed martyrdom as a recruiting tool. ‘The more they mention her, the more dangerous her story is going to be.’”
Purdue “drew parallels between the rhetoric surrounding Babbitt’s death and that of Vicki Weaver. Weaver was the wife of White separatist Randy Weaver who was fatally shot by an FBI sniper during a standoff with federal agents at Ruby Ridge, Idaho in 1992. The Weavers’ teenage son was also killed a day earlier as was a U.S. marshal. Vicki Weaver’s ‘perceived status as an innocent, white, female victim of “state aggression” instantly placed her on a pedestal.’ Purdue wrote. Her death, in particular, became a rallying cry and recruiting tool on the far right and helped inspire Oklahoma City bombers Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols.”
The Oklahoma City bombing was in 1995, but we sure are hearing a lot about it lately. That’s how far the establishment media has to go in order to find any really significant “white supremacist” violence, and so it has to be pressed into service to shore up the Left’s narrative, which Old Joe Biden’s handlers put into his mouth on June 1: “Terrorism from white supremacy is the most lethal threat to the homeland today.”
There is more. Read the rest here.

If you have to compare a nice middle-class woman who honorably served her country to Hitler, then you have no argument, no judgement, and you should not be in a position of influence.
In the case of the January 6 sit-in at congress, it is being used by the Dems as their own Reichstag Fire incident so as to justify draconian authoritarian measures. The Dems are overreacting as the Nazis did after the Reichstag Fire, which may or may not have been orchestrated by Goering.

One of the Reps from Florida, Matt Gaetz (spelling may be wrong), is enquiring whether the FBI was involved in what took place in January. He wants to know if they were egging people on to do something violent.
And, if I’m recalling correctly without looking at my email again, one of the fools at cnn said Ms. Babbitt “got what she deserved.”
Who deserves to be shot dead for going through a broken window? Homeowners have been arrested, charged and taken to trial for shooting someone invading their private property, such as climbing in through a window. And the guy in Florida was arrested, charged and tried for shooting a hoodlum who was pounding his head into the pavement. The hoodlum was evidently related to “o”…looked “like he could have been.” That was self-defense.
The shooting at the Capitol on January 6 was not. Ms. Babbitt was unarmed and climbing through a broken window…which may have been broken by an FBI agent, or another official hoping to entice someone to break laws.
It has been claimed that she was there regarding money matters as her business had not been doing so well, but her brother said otherwise. Whatever the reason she was there, she did not “deserve what she got.”
Yet, the unnamed “capitol cop” who shot Ms. Babbitt is facing nothing….no one can even name him or put a face behind the loaded gun.
satan the devil’s first defiant, lying action was to say something that was totally untrue to a person who was too easily deceived. These liars at cnn are following their lying leader.

I think the FBI is pretty much what the Soviet KGB had become in the 80s, and when the Soviet Union came apart, so did the KGB. I honestly never bought the argument that the FBI is populated w/ fine people, w/ just a few corrupt officials at the top, and that’s becoming more and more emphatically obvious
Once the next Republican administration comes to power, they need to seriously disband the FBI and make every one of their employees ineligible to serve in whatever replacement set-up succeeds it. From Wray on down to the precinct level

The Florida Rep has demanded that wray answer as to how involved the FBI was in what happened. wray may be the culprit, being at the head of, what has been revealed as a snake, and makes the big decisions about who goes where, undercover, etc.
There was that terror attack on Ms. Geller, Mr. Spencer, and others in Garland, with the FBI agent following behind the mozlum’s car.
I do know of at least one “good guy” from the agency. But, I wouldn’t want to say there are more than a few like him. In fact, there was one that he warned me not to listen to.

CNN Uses Ashli Babbitt to Paint Trump Supporters As Terrorists
……………..
Ashli Babbitt was unarmed, and was entering the Capitol building through a broken window, along with a lot of other people. She could not have appeared much of a threat. But she is “Hitler” and “Mohamad Atta”? This is nuts.
And this is justified because she was a supporter of President Trump and retweeted some Tweets about “Q-Anon”. (I personally find a lot of the “Q-Anon” stuff I’ve seen pretty silly–but it is non-violent free speech).
One of her last Tweets was “Go Padres!” (her hometown baseball team). Not exactly scary…
The cop who shot her in the face isn’t going to face any charges.
And the idea that this was an “insurrection” is ludicrous. These supposed “gun nuts” went into the Capitol unarmed? They were either a) the most inept “insurrectionists” in history, or b) they were not insurrectionists. I’ll go for b)…
mortimer says
IT was nowhere near an ‘insurrection’. It was a sit-in.
Why has the name of the shooter not been provided? Is there no discipline for shooting an unarmed woman?

Sooner or later, truth gets out, no matter how many seek to obscure it.
I have also changed my mind about the Jan. 6th insurrection. The only person killed in action was Ms Babbitt, killed by Capitol Security. The crowd mostly milled about like a bunch of tourists, gawking at the plaques and statues rather than vandalizing them. The contrast with the assaults on cities–which pay the taxes on which the government rests–was far too palpable. @gravenimage at 7:28, I opt for (b) as well, The Jan. 6th incident was tame compared with what the Left regularly unleashes on us.

Thanks Kepha. Agreed.

The article at Revolver.com, given wide publicity by the Tucker Carlson show, presented circumstantial, not conclusive, evidence that FBI agents were not only monitoring the demonstration, but were the ones actually initiating illegal property damage and storming of police lines. Picture the demonstrators climbing the walls, and those actually smashing windows.
My own theory is that Babbitt’s murder was not planned, but was the result of affirmative-action hiring and promotion within the Capitol police. They kept and promoted a loose cannon black, immigrant officer for the appearance of diversity, and left to chance that he wouldn’t do something too egregious. When he did do something egregious, they covered it up, because any open investigation would show they ignored many red flags that he was not only incompetent, but dangerous. You can see a good parallel in what happened with Muhammed Noor, the incompetent, dangerous Somali cop that shot Justine Diamond, who was standing next to the police car in her pajamas. The authorities learned their lesson from the Noor affair: suppress an open inquiry at all costs, because it will highlight the incompetence, cynicism, and recklessness of the police leadership and the city administration.
gravenimage says
Quite possible. There is such pressure to name police in most cases–but here it is being carefully covered up–either because the victim was conservative, or perhaps also because of the identity of the cop.

Perhaps it was noor’s cousin who fatally shot Ms. Babbitt. The sight of women…esp those like Ms. Babbitt…just anger the mozlum male to the point of whatever their ‘hand finds’ …they must use it.

This is straight out of James Simpson’s book “Who was Karl Marx.” The objective of left wing communists and rabid moslems is to make sure Trump never runs again. The left will lie shamelessly and call names to demonize and scare Trump supporters.

The “Founding Fathers”…may I speak for them? “We are appalled! We are angry! This was never to be the way of this nation “conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men…women included…are created equal. It was to be a government of We the people, for the people and by the people. The ‘people’s house’ is just that. The ‘house’ doesn’t belong to those elected and paid to care for the ‘people.’ When ‘the people’ walk inside, they are in their house.”
puloosi and shoomer and the aoc, the sick omar (not her real name, but she is sick) and the tlaib and their ilk all believe the House, the Capitol, belongs to them and they can dictate who goes in and when and who gets shot and who gets a protection from prosecution for shooting another person who is no real threat.
This poor dead woman’s name is being slandered.

On a YT-channel I saw a video the other day with a pastor who had been invited to a Christian!!! school in order to talk about gender identity. Soon after he was put on the terrorist-list in the UK. This is where this is all going; if you have religious or even political views that doesn’t align with the politically correct left you can end on your country’s terror-list. This will basically give them license to do whatever they like to you out side the rule of law.

Ashli Babbitt was unarmed – and was trespassing.
At the very most, she should have been “Tased and arrested”.
NOT killed with a live round!
Imagine the outcry (CAIR, etc.) if she had been a muslima in full hijab…

And only tased if she violently resisted arrest–which she did not.

This is all part of a larger effort by the Left to demonize all conservatives and demonstrative of how the Left has become an enemy of freedom and of truth (N.B., the old Left, call it old-fashion liberalism if you will, was not an enemy of freedom and truth). What makes this all extra disturbing is that we now have one of the two major political parties in America itself almost entirely in sympathy with Leftist elements, including BLM and Antifa. Ominous.
The Democratic Party needs to be no more. I highly doubt this is going to happen—but it should because the Democratic Party is now, I believe, beyond redemption.
Kepha says
To me, “Old Left” means apologists for Stalinists and those who viewed Leon Trotsky as a sterling idealist rather than the Pol Pot he would’ve been had he not been so personally vain and lazy once his revolution was won. The LBJ and Scoop Jackson types I’d prefer to call soft pragmatic social democrat.
There is enough of a dangerous Left left, if you’ll excuse the repetition. There are still people running around who think Mao a paragon of participatory democracy, ecological sensibility, and supporter of minority rights (I myself saw a simmering bitterness about his regime, moonscapes under monsoon skies, and minority children with edema, to say nothing of a fierce ethnic separatism that boiled over when I was in Mainland China in the early 1990’s). The number of Chinese and Cuban trolls on social media is legion, and the education system is rife with them.
James Lincoln says
Wellington,
A lot of the baby boomer JFK type Democrats have actually realized that the Democratic Party has left them.
But…
Many have children, brought up in a Democrat supporting household, who support the new “Far Left” Marxist Democrat party.
These boomers are in a bind. They have four choices:
1. Openly maintain support for today’s Democrats – and please their adult children in the short term. This would sell your country down the drain in order to maintain family harmony.
2. Openly “walk away” from the Democratic Party. This would run the real risk of having an icy-cold relationship with their adult children.
3. Try to educate their adult children in regards to why it’s a very bad idea to support the new Leftists. Likely too late in the game for this to be effective.
4. Shut up and be a closet conservative.
Did I miss anything?

CNN is such a disgrace. Even Fox news is doing much better in terms of numbers. Shame on US politics that Putin had to pinpoint the egregious killing of Ashli, who was unarmed.
