Indian intelligence agencies verified on June 6 that a Malayali Muslim engineer from Kerala, who had joined the terrorist outfit ISIS, had died in Libya. His name, “Abu Bakr Al-Hindi,” has also been commemorated in a document of the Islamic State entitled “Know Your Martyrs.” He has been venerated as an “Istishhadi,” which translates to a Martyr killed in a war, or, as ordinary people would say, a suicide bomber.
Now here is an interesting observation. “Abu Bakr Al-Hindi,” whose real name has not been revealed, reportedly was a Christian by birth. He was born into a prosperous Christian family in Kerala which has produced many successful engineers. As a matter of fact, “Istishhadi” “Abu Bakr Al-Hindi” was also an engineer who was employed in Bengaluru, Karnataka before flying to the Gulf to chase better career prospects. He found himself within a completely Islamic milieu in the Gulf, and was introduced to Islam by means of a leaflet he was handed at a supermarket.
He learned in the leaflet that Muslims recognize Jesus, which increased his interest in Islam. Subsequently, he discovered the speeches of Anwar-Awlaki, and was motivated by them to the point that he decided to convert to Islam, fly to Libya (which he could do easily with his Indian passport and Christian identity) and then join the Islamic State (ISIS).
It is safe to infer that this well-educated Christian engineer was only inspired to become a terrorist after he embraced Islam. Back in 2018, India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested 52 people for allegedly being ISIS terrorists. These were mostly engineers or postgraduates, born in Hindu or Christian families, who had converted to Sunni Islam. The Indian state of Kerala, which prides itself on having the highest literacy rate in the country, is gradually turning into the breeding ground for ISIS terrorists in India. ISIS is training and recruiting numerous academically qualified Muslim youth from Kerala.
The global liberal sweetheart, Malala Yousafzai, recently earned praise for her much-celebrated statement, “With guns, you can kill terrorists, and with education, you can kill terrorism.” Why are these youth of exceptionally meritorious academic background giving up on their bright ambitions and picking up weapons after being influenced by and converting to Islam? Will Malala, a Nobel laureate, kindly explain?
She won’t. So we did our own research.
- Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden, the mastermind of the 9/11 jihad attacks, had earned a degree in civil engineering from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah. However, his major area of interest remained “religion” at the university, and he was involved in interpreting the Qur’an.
- Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the principal architect of the 9/11 attacks, was awarded a Bachelor of Science (BS) in mechanical engineering by North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 1986. Later, he discarded engineering and pursued a Master’s in Islamic Culture and History from Punjab University in Pakistan.
- Abdul Rahman Yasin, an American citizen of Iraqi descent, who was accused of constructing bombs in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, had a Ph.D.
- Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, the co-founder of the Islamic terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, which has carried out countless attacks on innocent people, including the 2008 Mumbai jihad attacks, has a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies, awarded by the King Saud University in Riyadh.
- Mawlawi Hibatullah Akhundzada, the chief of Islamic jihad outfit known as the Taliban, is a religious scholar. He has been an instructor at an Islamic madrassa, training over 100,000 students, and had also presided as the Chief Justice of the Shariah Courts of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
While we have highlighted only a few major and globally recognized names, the list would be infinite if we listed all the Islamic terrorists who have advanced degrees. One trait shared by all of these highly skilled individuals is their far-reaching interest in Islamic philosophy; this is evident, and there’s no room for denial. Malala and her ilk may not like it, and will likely choose to look the other way, as they always do.
Alternatively, they may acknowledge that modern-day jihad terrorists are better educated than a great many people.
They are making bombs and plotting large-scale destruction, thumbing their noses at the governments of advanced nations. To continue to perpetuate the fallacy that terrorism is the recourse of the illiterate any further will only lead to ever-spiraling devastation. Combating jihad terrorists effectively will require a fundamental transformation in how we interpret, observe and counter terrorism. Before that, world leaders must reject the phony claims of political correctness and admit that it is not the socioeconomic environment of a person, but a certain type of religiosity that is producing terrorists by the dozens every hour of the day, and even more in the night.

Glasgow Airport attack of 2007 comes to mind
Police identified the two men as Bilal Abdullah, a British-born, Muslim doctor of Iraqi descent working at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, and Kafeel Ahmed, also known as Khalid Ahmed, an Indian-born engineer and the driver, who was treated for fatal burns at the same hospital. The newspaper The Australian alleged that a suicide note indicated that the two had intended to die in the attack. Kafeel Ahmed died from his injuries on 2 August. Bilal Abdullah was later found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 32 years.

There were many highly educated intelligent people in Germany in the 1920 to 1830s who join the Nazi party .Education and intelligent does not make a person moral or good.. People of weak moral fiber who hunger for great power (leaders with a god complex) ,or believe in a supremist master religion (Islam) or supremist master government (communism),or supremist master race (German Nazism) are willing to kill or be killed as minions for the “betterment” of all mankind to live under their system.

WPM,
Some serious analysis of fascist ideologies of the world, I couldn’t agree more.
tim gallagher says
That idea that education will counter terrorism among Muslims doesn’t ring true to me. To echo that saying “It’s the economy, stupid”, I’d say it is Islam, stupid. The calls for violence in the Koran are the play book for Muslims. If they become educated, then they merely become more clever devils, who can probably devise more effective methods of carrying out their terrorist attacks. I remember a fairly young doctor in Australia who went off to join ISIS several years back. I think there would be endless cases like that. Islam is the poisonous ideology that creates all these terrorists. This Malala character is living in some kind of fantasy land when she makes such a foolish statement. It is either that, or she is trying to be deceptive, trying to fool the infidels.
American Pride says
Their main weapon against all infidels is the Quran and the Satanic verses. War is Deceit, and when a Muslim speaks it is on the Quran, and the Quran states it is just to deceive unbelievers. War is Deceit.
tim gallagher says
No doubt about that, American Pride. Muslims are constantly lying to us non-Muslims. War is definitely all about deceit.
maria says
Malala is a muslim inside, she hates Israel and supports the terrorist arabs who are occupants of some parts of Israel.
jimjfox says
And you know this HOW, Maria?
Good education certainly tends to reduce irrational beliefs though it may not directly reduce terrorism. Most of the intellectual Muslims quoted were educated in Islamic countries so their ‘education‘ was dominated by Islam.
Whilst it is disappointing that many famous scientists and thinkers have “Got religion” late in life my hope is that these are the exceptions that prove the rule.
Religion has been responsible for much suffering in the world
Infidel says
You sound like my mom. Whenever I’d point out to her any jihadist outrage, she’d tell me that the problem lies w/ all religion, not just islam. I gave up talking to her about any of this
tim gallagher says
infidel, I’m with you. I can’t cop this nonsense that you get from some people that all religions are equally no good. Islam is so much more violent (and it’s all right there in the Koran) than almost all other religions. To equate all religions like some people do, is insane and, to my mind, beyond belief.
gravenimage says
Jim, there *is* the issue of her donating $50,000 to schools in Hamas-run Gaza.
As for education in general, it depends. If it is education in a free country, this does tend to help. If it is Islamic or Commumist indoctrination, not so much.
Then, the claim that the problem is generically “religion” is very odd–you *do* realize that Jihad terror is specifically Islamic?
tim gallagher says
gravenimage, I’m pretty sure that Malala supports Islam. But I have also thought that she would be too terrified to try to leave islam even if she did want to do so.
gravenimage says
I admire Malala’s stand for girl’s education–and she did indeed pay a high price for it (and this price would have been higher without western care).
But many of her views on Islam and its tenets have been quite disturbing. She is no real anti-Jihadist.
tim gallagher says
Agreed, gravenimage. The hardline Muslim scum tried to kill her once and I figure that they would kill her if she strayed from islam. She is probably constantly aware of this fact. I can’t really be a fan of anyone who goes along with Islam, so I guess I am no great admirer of her. But, as you say, she has tried to improve education for girls and that is very important in Muslim countries. So that’s a big positive.
commonsense says
The little bastard Malala is an avowed supporter of Hamas, to which she has donated money.
Mimi says
These are the things that will stem radicalism:
1) A strongly guarded space for freedom (esp true in non-Western countries)
2) A vigorous and well-publicized counter-narrative (both political and religious)
3) The willingness to stamp out the purveyors of radicalism and their materials..
All of these have to be present and working together to be effective
gravenimage says
Mimi, “radicalism” is orthodox Islam. And there is no freedom in Islam, so no Muslims country is going to have 1). As for 2), having a counter-narrative is good, but this is not goingto happen in Islam–and pious Muslims don’t listen to the “filthy Infidels”. And there is no will for 3)–we see this in Muslim countries all the time, where much of the populace actually supports Jihad.
gravenimage says
Malala says education kills terrorism; one dead Muslim engineer-turned-ISIS jihadi begs to differ
……………….
This is not true at all–nor does poverty cause terrorism, as is often claimed.
Malala is either ignorant or else spouting Taqiyya.
Infidel says
Well, Malala grew up to become a Leftist/Feminist (not the you type of feminist, Graven!), and so bought into all the tropes that Leftists have about everybody. In that school of thought, only some jihadist entities are bad, like Saudi Arabia, Taliban, ISIS. Others, particularly the ones fighting against the West, are good, which is why the same people who condemn the Taliban condone Hamas. And since islam can’t directly be blamed or the Left will lose their most powerful ally, the blame falls on only those islamic entities that either directly attack Western interests, or those that are so extreme that they even attack those Leftists, w/o caring for that alliance
Ashlyn wrote a great article but missed out one thing. Why did literate non-muslim Engineers convert to islam and become jihadists? Reason this happens in Kerala, as I mentioned yesterday, is that that state has done what it could to promote both Communism and islam: that state government recently announced that minority scholarships would be split b/w muslims and Christians in the ratio of 80:20, despite the fact that muslims are marginally a higher number than Christians, but not by much. This decision has been struck down by the state’s high court. At any rate, if one is not a muslim, the only other major political entity in that state are the communists, and in such an environment, neither Hindu nor Christian values survive. Which is why a Christian from that state, working in the Gulf, can so easily fall for the myth that muslims honor ‘Jesus’, not knowing the difference b/w Jesus and Isa
And Anwar Alwaki, despite being dead for many years, is still not just recruiting people from the grave, but even inspiring them to convert to islam and then join the jihad
At some point, if they are serious, Indian, and for that matter Emirati, Omani, Bahreini and Saudi authorities will have to treat dawa activities as jihadist recruitment activities by their enemies, regardless of what the latter group thinks about islam
BlackSabbath says
The Gulf States import majority the workforce from Asia and Europe. They prefer to offer jobs to normal people and avoid moslems because they know that the moslems will get involved in “extra-curricular” activities such as jihad and terrorism. The normal types will just do their job, make their money, and go home. Besides, normal types (Hindus, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs, etc) are very unlikely to have fake degrees and fraudulent credentials. Moslems, on the other hand, often have fake degrees, specially those coming out of South Asian countries.

The downside of this setup is that these ‘expats’ are now a huge percentage of the population, if not a downright majority, and a point will come when their kids, who’ve lived all their lives only in the Gulf states – not Sri Lanka, Philippines, Nepal, India, et al, will demand things like citizenship rights, and they will very much dilute the Arab nature of those countries. In the meantime, oil prices have crashed, implying that those governments don’t have the gravy train by which to pay them. In fact, post Chinavirus, I wonder how many of those expats would be returning to the Gulf
Right now, Saudi Arabia is exploring a complete overhaul of their education system b’cos they want to be a self sustaining modern society not living just on oil. But even short of that, one thing that those Gulf countries would be better doing would be hiring the more educated amongst the Palis, Egyptians, Syrians, and other Arab countries not swimming in oil cash, and naturalizing them. Then too, they won’t have the jihadists or the losers, since the latter would be at home busy w/ either dawa or jihad activities. They can do this, while they transition the rest of their societies to adjust to this millennium
gravenimage says
I doubt that Saudi Arabia will *ever* offer any of these workers citizeshi–not even the Muslims. Except at the highest levels, these workers are treated like sh*t.
Infidel says
The only reason they take that ? treatment is that the pay is good. But they’re getting to the point where they can no longer pay them as generously, and that makes it less attractive for those expats to remain there
Of course, if the Saudis and their neighbors can get their own citizens up to speed in all these skills that they need going forward, then they themselves can expel all those expats, and not have to worry about their population being diluted
Raja says
Black Sabbath & Infidel,
Basically agree with both of you. I would “fine tune” or add some more information to your opinions.
Saudi Arabia will never consider importing any jihadi, Mr. Trump had twitted about this fact that they (including Qatar) took in 0 refugees during the crisis in Syria, Iraq etc.
Saudi Arabia and other gulf countries have had bad track record of clearing the final settlement dues of infidels, some have died mysteriously just prior to leaving those countries for good.I think JW covered about an infidel Christian whose retirement or severance benefits were denied to him by a so called advanced Islamic nation Bahrain or may be Kuwait, I don’t remember exactly. These ME nations, especially Qatar is notoriously popular for lots of forced labor. One bollywood cine actress Sridevi , died under mysterious circumstances. Some insurance foul play is suspected in this case.
These nations have thrived on “blood money” of the world as OPEC is just a cartel. They also know that oil money is not for ever and hence gearing up for post 2030 scenario.
The women who go there as domestic helps are generally keeps from Sri Lanka, Philippines, India and other nations. Most of the immigrants’ visa is seized by the employers upon joining and their treatment is generally sub human. I know people, both men and women who are glued to these nations for years together without a glimpse of their family.
Though most of the ME nations are strictly Islamic in practice and rules they don’t want the trouble makers in Jihadis or terrorists.

I always want to ask why don’t those ‘moderate’, or ‘reformer’, or whatever you want to call them, moslems go and tell their bull to their own moslem herds? I don’t care to hear, or read it anymore since they are only telling us and making many think that the jihadists are really listening. Does she go to those over 80% mosques that teach violence and intolerance her message? Or are they just grinning knowing that she is lulling the unbelievers back to bed and sweet dreams?
