Killing women and children is justified in a hadith in which Muhammad waves away those who object. “It is reported on the authority of Sa’b b. Jaththama that the Prophet of Allah (may peace be upon him), when asked about the women and children of the polytheists being killed during the night raid, said: They are from them.” (Sahih Muslim 4321)
But then there is this: “During some of the Ghazawat of the Prophet a woman was found killed. Allah’s Messenger disapproved the killing of women and children.” (Sahih Bukhari 4.56.3014)
So did Muhammad authorize the killing of women and children, or did he forbid it?
This is just one of many such contradictions that can be found in the Hadith literature. They point to the fact that most or all of these traditions were not recording what Muhammad actually said and did, but were fabricated in order to give the weight of Muhammad’s authority to the views of a particular faction. Then the other faction would invent a competing story in which Muhammad said just the opposite.

Simple resolution of this contradiction:
– Killing of women and children who are loyal to islam and commit jihad activities of various kinds is forbidden
– Killing of women and children who either refose to commit jihad activities or even better, actively oppose them, is okay
There – resolved this ‘contradiction’!
RegT says
True. Just as the qur’an, when saying muslims should give alms and do good things for others refers only to _other muslims_, not infidels.
CogitoErgoSum says
I don’t know. I think some of the stories about Muhammad were fabricated but it could also be that Muhammad had some serious mental problems and as time went by he became increasingly demented – with the ingestion of a near lethal dose of poison not helping at all.

The canonical Islamic accounts of Muhammad’s life are full of contradictions. There’s a reason for that.
……………..
Great that Robert Spencer is exposing this.

Most of the work of mullahs is to find arguments to explain away these hundreds of contradictions. Thinking Muslims come to the conclusion that they are fabrications. They come to the conclusion that much of what they have been presented is absurd, but even so, they keep their mouths shut. That is now changing with the advent of the Saudi Crown Prince who claims much of the hadiths are spurious.
This is the beginning of the end of Islam.

Mortimer: I cannot share your optimism. Islam, as I have said before, is much the same as the USSR and Nazi Germany. The only ones who speak out are the ones who have escaped the tyranny. Speaking out, especially in such a tight knit community, tends to be fatal. Many went to the camps because they were denounced by their neighbours. Their neighbours did not want to be associated with ‘traitors’. In fact in Islam your neighbours may be the ones who kill you.

Robert Spencer draws attention to the blatant and irreconcilable CONTRADICTIONS within the hadiths and Koran. These often absurd contradictions (Mohammed drank water standing up, but then, he also only drank water sitting down) cannot be justified by any other argument than that the hadiths are INVENTIONS and FABRICATIONS of warring factions existing between 8th and 9th century Islamic dynasties.
Foundational Islam is as bogus as a three-dollar bill.
Michael Copeland says
Arab story-tellers are 98% unreliable.
That is what Bukhari found.
He rejected as unreliable 98% of the Hadiths he was given.
Infidel says
Well, according to this book, it’s now an open question whether Buqhari and Muslim were spinning stuff out of whole cloth at the behest of the Abbasid caliphs in Baghdad. In which case, they were at best at a story exchange putting together the best fiction that they thought would give them a ‘religion’

All of it is lies…constituting a big fat one.
Liars never remember exactly what they say happened, so their lies keep changing.
This is why the “tangled-web” quote is so true. “Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.”
The mass-murdering raper of children, sex slave trader, thief, filthy lying son of satan and his “biographers” told one lie after another to support whatever vice and evil he wished to commit and then attempted to justify by claiming divine inspiration or command.
A person’s inborn conscience would reject what this sack of slug slime said to do, so he needed a way to force his filthy evil onto others. The claims made were to get others to follow him with the promise of a place of fulfilled lust, and with the threats of awful torments and death for those who refused him.
And since it all came straight from satan..whether or not the fake ‘prophet’ ever existed, All of it is demonic lies and evil filth.

Somehistory,
I am in agreement with you. There seems to be too many contradictions in islam just as there are too many Korans.
islam has many of the tactics / purpose of almost all fascist ideologies. It has worked really well for Islam to carry out the mass murders with impunity. I see the glaring similarities of all mass-murdering ideologies.
Only the existence of Satan (as per bible), who caused the downfall of mankind can explain the striking similarities of these ideologies. He is working overtime to wean man from God, create chaos, doubts and hopelessness, always striving hard to rob the freewill of man and wanting to destroy mankind in every possible way. islam is a catalyst in the scheme of things of Satan. islam proves the existence of evil in the world.

Absolutely. it’s the only thing that explains it all.

Mr. Spencer’s question, “Did Muhammad Exist?” is answered by Jewish historians who are known to have a very good track record for documenting facts related to Judaism. The answer is, YES, Muhammad did exist, as cite in the following information:
https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/muhammad
Note: Contradictions in describing certain events by more than one writer do not necessarily disprove the existence of the central figure; in this case Muhammad. If Muhammad’s existence is questioned by this method, then the existence of Jesus could also easily be questioned by the various accounts of who He is, according to “theological teachings” set forth by the various “Christian” denominations. Does that mean that Jesus did not exist?
Ecosse1314 says
No that’s purely a rehash of the common life of Mo. It tells us nothing we don’t know and tells us zero about Jesus.
gravenimage says
True, Ecosse.

Contradictions in Islam might be intentional. Look at how Islamist act in unison against infidels, besides putting the filthy enemy is total disarray. Full marks to Satan, for stitching together a “religion” wherein the adherents are happy taking others’ happiness !
