The more one looks into the origins of Islam, the stranger it all gets. Some Islamic traditions say Muhammad originally had a different name, Qutham. Yet most histories of early Islam omit all mention of this.
Find out what this means and why it matters in the new revised and expanded edition of Did Muhammad Exist?, available for preorder now.

Tragically stupid and indefensible! Mohammedans have no solid grounds to believe there was such a person as Mohammed.
Was Muhammad’s real name Qathem or Qutham, and not Muhammad or Ahmad?
Or was the real name “Ilyas ibn Qabisha”.

The late Christopher Hitchens hit the nail on the head when many years ago on tv saying of Islam: “It’s all bullshit”. It is, it’s made up crap, a pack of lies.

QUTHEM = ‘damaged, or spoiled’ as in ‘spoiled food’.
Muhammad called himself Qotham or Qutham, Qathem in (Beharul Anwar Vol.16 p.130) ;
“It is narrated from Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w) to have said about himself that ‘I am Qotham` which means ‘I am the owner of comprehensiveness and the collection of all goodness`.”
Another reference; Al-Sirah Al-Halabia also called Insan al-Uyan fi Sirat al-Ma’mum, vol 1. p. 128;
“After the death of Qathem ibn Abd-Al-Mu’taleb (Muhammad’s uncle) at the age of nine, three years before Muhammad was born, his father Abd Al-Mu’taleb felt so sad, so when the prophet was born, he named him Qathem”
Mohammed’s real name ‘Quthem means that he was the bastard child of an adulterous relationship.

Mohammed supposedly also had a cousin named Qutham ibn Abbas, who brought Islam to Uzbekistan. There is shrine to him there.
This Islamic name site gives the meaning of “Qutham” as both “gracious man” and “male hyena”:

Gravenimage,
Islam has the knack of blurting out truth sometimes ! I always thought islam was hyena, by gracious, it obviously refers to being gracious to the devil-god.

There’s no mention of Muhammed for almost 200 years after he was supposed to have died. This is not definitive, of course, but it does not lend credence to his being a historical figure.
The devil is supposed to have spoken to Faust, as well, but this does not mean that he was a historical figure.
