This is not at all surprising. Throughout history, when Muslims have conquered an area, they relegate the non-Muslims to second-class status, denying them numerous rights and mandating that they pay a tax, the jizya, for the privilege of practicing their religions without being killed. There is one easy way for the subjugated dhimmis to escape this state of humiliation and degradation: they can convert to Islam. This led to mass conversions, and to the fact that in numerous lands that were once conquered by Muslim armies, most of the Muslim population has non-Muslim ancestors. Egypt was 99% Christian when it was conquered, and is only around 10% Christian now. Where did all the Christians go? They’re still there. They’re the nation’s Muslims. It’s the same in Iran: the Zoroastrians of Persia are still mostly in the country. They’re the Muslims. And likewise in Turkey, most of the Turks are ethnic Greeks who were forcibly converted to Islam, or who willingly converted in order to escape the institutionalized harassment and persecution of dhimmitude.
Turkish journalist Uzay Bulut notes that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan himself is from the town of Rize, the Greek name of which is Rizounta. Bulut writes: “His family is from the Potamia town of the city. Their village is Pulihoz. They’re original Greek names of these locations but they were later Turkified by The Turkish Republic. Erdogan himself, too, refers to the village as Potamia. This is such a controversial, taboo topic in Turkey.”
It shouldn’t be, if Erdogan were consistent. He recently declared: “We maintained these lands and made them our homeland with our blood, our flag, and the sound of prayer from the mosques. This is why the re-opening of the Hagia Sophia as a mosque is important, as it is a legacy of conquest.” If he can celebrate that “legacy of conquest,” why can’t he and Turks of like mind celebrate the fact that they are the children and heirs of the Greeks who were conquered by the Turkish invaders? That’s part of the “legacy of conquest,” too.
“Turkish DNA Project calls for boycott after Ancestry.com highlights many Greeks were Turkified,” by Paul Antonopoulos, Greek City Times, June 3, 2021:
UPDATE: Since publication of this article, the Turkish DNA Project deleted their tweet.
The Turkish DNA Project, a misinformation portal on Facebook and Twitter known for posting genetic graphs and charts without references or sources, expressed frustration with Ancestry.com, the largest for-profit genealogy company in the world.
The misinformation project called for “all Turks to boycott this company: Ancestry.”
“AncestryDNA prioritizes to demonize the Turkish people and delegitimaze [sic] their presence in Turkey rather than giving information about the genetic structure of the relevant population,” they said in a Twitter post.
The main reason for their frustration?
Because Ancestry.com correctly highlighted that many Turkish citizens are indeed mostly unrelated to Turkic peoples from Central Asia and are rather native Anatolian people that have been Turkified.
Of course, the Turkish DNA Project’s graphs, charts and data present another “truth.”
However, these are in complete opposition to science, hence their call for Ancestry.com to boycotted as science continually disproves their misinformation campaign.
Ancestry.com highlighted that after the Ottoman conquest of Pontos in today’s Turkey’s southeastern Black Sea coast, the “Pontian Greeks adopted Turkish language and culture, and many converted to Islam in order to have greater opportunities in Turkish society.”
Ancestry.com also highlighted that another round of Turkification of Pontian Greeks occurred after the second Russo-Turkish War (1828-29)….
With the advent of genetic testing, more and more Turkish citizens and diaspora communities are discovering that they are actually Turkified peoples, mostly pointing towards Greek….
Uzay Bulut, a Turkey-born journalist, also responded to the call by the Turkish DNA Project to boycott Ancestry.com.
“Why are Turkish nationalists so terrified of the truth? Because if they face it, the lies they’ve come up with will be shattered to the ground,” she said on Twitter.
“Through these lies, hatred has grown which made them commit so many crimes against Greeks, Armenians, Assyrians, Jews and others,” Bulut said.
“Then they will realize that by destroying those peoples, they’ve actually destroyed their own ancestors and cultural heritage,” the journalist said, adding: “The truth will set us all free and bring much needed peace to the region.”

Bikinis not Burkas, this probably did not mean Muhammed was “white” as in Nordic–this likely referred to his being lighter-skinned than those like agricultural workers and slaves who spent a lot of time out in the Arabian sun. This was a status thing.
And he recommended that those who had gone gray dye their hair and beards with henna to look younger and more terrifying to their enemies. This does not mean that he himself originally had red hair.
There just weren’t a lot of choices in hair dye in dark ages Arabia. “Just for Men” wouldn’t be around for over a thousand years or so…

While it is blood-boilingly angering, it is nonetheless poetically ironic that the Turks have essentially raped themselves out of the gene pool using mainly Greek and Slavic sex slaves. In enslaving all non-Turks they could get their hands on, they have in turn non-Turkified themselves. Karma has nothing if not an ironic sense of humor.

Had an elderly “Turkish” woman patient in the ER who looked astonishingly like my grandmother (Balkan, Eastern European). Her son came to see her and translate for the MD. I told him what I saw in her, and mentioned that he looked astonishingly like paintings of Ghengis Kahn. He laughed and told me that when he was a kid, his friends called him “little Ghengis”.We all carry our histories for all to see, and for many to recognize. Denial is sad.

Well……an intelligent “Turk” in Turkey should LOGICALLY feel Proud that he is Genetically the Same as the people ( the Greeks ),and is in fact a Greek by Blood(DNA) , the group that gave the world:
HOMER and PLATO, and ARISTOTLE and ARCHIMEDES, and EL GRECO and DEMOCRACY
and HERO of ALEXANDRIA ( creator of ROBOTICS ) and PHIDIAS( greatest sculptor of Antiquity)
And what have the Turks contributed to civilization?

You seem to have omitted lots of other famous turkish intellectual titans from your list from Yavuz Sultan Selim to Abdülhamid II and Enver Pasha… though I’m not so sure that they (or Mehmed the conqueror for that matter) were of the same biological “race” as Tamerlane their works were definitely driven by the same lofty spiritual ideals. Interestingly I’ve noticed Turks also like to include Attila the Hun and Genghis Khan in the their list of illustrious ancestral figures of Turkic Civilization. While technically not of turkish heritage really I suppose these could still be regarded as “honorary Turks” based on bodycount and level of destruction they left in their wake…

If they honor Genghiz Khan, then they spurn one of the 16 empires the Khwarezmids that they honor? B’cos Genghiz Khan put to the sword several muslim rulers and wiped out major Turkic muslim cities like Samarqand, Buqhara, Herat, Gurganj… So the Turks approve of a non-muslim doing that to them?
SAFI says
well I’ve seen Turks say he was a Turk and Cengiz is a s popular male name in Turkey so maybe they’re willing to overlook someones attacks on fellow Turks as long as they achieve the desired levels of carnage (though I’m not so sure they’re even very aware of that “detail” you mentioned)

Turks irked, call for boycott of Ancestry.com for noting that many Turks are ethnically Greek
……………..
Yes, of course most Muslims in Turkey are descendants of the Islamic invaders Greek (and Armenian and Assyrian) victims–just as most Muslims in India are descendants of Hindu victims.
But the supremascist Muslim Turks deny this–they all want to consider themselves descedants of the bloody conquerors…

It would be funny if Ancestry ends up creating a de facto hierarchy where only the descendants of the original Oghuz Turks from today’s Turkmenistan are at the top, and everyone else is demoted to second class status. Critical Race Theory – Turkish edition!

Just another example of the way that Muslims, not just the Turks, can’t handle the truth. Why do they care about this anyway? Do the Turks seriously get around thinking that they are a magnificent, wondrous race of people. Talk about delusional. It is all a bit reminiscent of Hitler and his Germanic master race type of garbage. Absolute wankers.

The hilarious thing there, was not a single one of the top Nazis remotely resembled their tall, athletic, good-looking, blond-haired, blue-eyed etc etc Aryan prototype.
None of Stalin’s lot were exactly poster-children for the heroic Soviet working-classes either.
And who would want to look like greasy, bloated Kim Jong-Un, snaggle-toothed EU fanatic Guy Verhofstadt, proto-Stalinist Jeremy Corbyn, or shrieking pop-eyed mad-woman AOC – whose appearance resembles nothing so much as a face painted onto a boiled-egg ? Why – you’d almost think that these people turn to extreme political doctrines as a form of compensation for their personal inadequacies.
My own physical appearance, on the other hand – a winning combination of Cary Grant’s effortless sophistication / Jack Hawkin’s doughty Britishness / Terry-Thomas’ man-of-the-world bounder-ishness / and Ian Carmichael’s ineradicable Home Counties decency – (think Robert Donat in “The Thirty-Nine Steps” with a slight dash of Viking) – is surely a tribute to the benefits of eschewing political extremism of all kinds, and preferring conservatism to Communism, family to Fascism,, Jaguars to jihad, and real ale to revolution..
It surely can’t be mere coincidence that all new-born babies bear a striking resemblance to Winston Churchill ?

Yes, fantastic, witty stuff, Phil. That North Korean leader is the one that I have trouble believing. He is such a grotesque, ugly looking, obese creature (of course, I suppose that in a country where many average people are starving, I guess being fat would be some kind of status symbol) that i can’t believe that they don’t get rid of the piece of crap just for being so hideous looking. He certainly doesn’t look like the great heroic dictator that he seems to be portrayed as. I agree that that AOC creature seems to almost look insane in any photos I see of her. Of course, you’re right about the Nazis. Hitler was no blue eyed blond type. Goering was a fat piece of crap, like the North Korean leader these days, and so on. On your appearance, Phil, you certainly are one very lucky man. I am also a conservative, but it just hasn’t led to my having such a classy appearance. Oh well, such is life.

“legacy of conquest”
I guess discovering one is actually descended from the CONQUERED – when all one’s life one was given to believe one was the spawn of the CONQUERORS – kinda takes the shine off the “legacy”!
lol
Infidel says
A solution for them here would be to take a misogynist approach and only revere their direct male ancestors i.e. father, father’s father, father’s father’s father, father’s father’s father’s father… and ignore all the maternal parts of that ancestry. Then they can continue to bask in the shade of the conquerors

Yes, last year I already heard that only FOR 8 % the population of Turkey (# 80 million) is from “steppe Turkish origine” for what that may be worth. Of course in A mixed population one cannot find some “pure” Turks or Greeks” ?
I openly talk about this with People, also Turks. I find that almost no one knows or wants to know the origines of the names Kayseri (Caesarea), Konya (Iconium), Trabzon (Trebizond), Malatya (Melitene), Izmir (Smyrna) . The list is endless …. Turks give me blank stares if I tell them that Turkey is “only” # 950 years, since Manzikert 1071, “Turkish”, then Islamic. What a terrible education system they must have.
But there is a nuance; some Turks take pride in more ancient heritage; 1. That of the Hittites (second millennium BC) 2. Emerging in the last years; GOBEKLI TEPE, built by hunter gatherers a. Stunning # 11.500 years ago (9.500 BC)
By the way; in the neolithicum (Stone Age) # 7000/ 6000 BC, a long trending wave is assumed out of Turkey and Fertile Crescent, INTO All of North Africa and Europe, because farmers live much more in dense populations than the “earlier hunterer gatherers” do.
Turkish people are pleasantly surprised to hear this theory too! And I hope it makes some more broadminded instead of so myopically “Islam-centric”.
And for these central Asian Turks; even. They were “shamanic or so” before stupidly converting to Islam.
For me or us I suppose it is never about the race, but about the damned ideology!
Larry says
The Hittites were an Indo-Aryan speaking people not related to the Turkic peoples of central Asia at all.

So Erdogan is mixing ethnicity with religion, is he? He should send a sample of his own blood to Ancestry.com so he can tell us all what the magic formula is. Besides, even the koran allows non-muslims, and there are many, to convert. Through in a few sex slaves her and there and, voilà, muslims with impure DNA.
