They had to term him an infidel because the Qur’an forbids Muslims to kill other Muslims (4:92).

“Afghan beheaded by Taliban for brief stint as US Army translator – report,” Jerusalem Post, July 25, 2021:
An Afghan translator who had worked for the US Army in Afghanistan was reportedly beheaded by the Taliban back in May, CNN reported on Friday.
The 32-year-old Sohail Pardis was a resident of Kabul and was reportedly apprehended by the Taliban at a checkpoint between the capital and the Khost province on May 12.Though there has been no official report, witnesses told the Red Crescent that the Islamist insurgency group shot his car, pulled Pardis out and beheaded him.Prior to this, Pardis had reportedly been receiving death threats for days after the Taliban had discovered his brief tenure working as a US Army translator. He had only served 16 months, and was fired in 2012 after failing a polygraph test.“They were telling him you are a spy for the Americans, you are the eyes of the Americans and you are infidel, and we will kill you and your family,” Pardis’s friend Abdulhaq Ayoubi told CNN….

According to Fox News contributor Gerneral Jack Keene (US Army, Ret.)–and so many others–the boys in that photo are practicing “radical” Islam.
Michael Copeland says
It is “distorted ideology” according to the Head of Counter Terrorism Police South East Detective Chief Superintendent Kath Barnes, QPM (Queen’s Police Medal).
She should know.

Yes–just absurd willful denial.
Infidel says
He is one more of those overrated generals who wanted us to remain in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and other places, and he’s one of the myriad reasons that I stopped watching Fox period!
PRCS says
Militarily, he’s well informed, of course, spent a long career in service, and understands warfare from both strategic and tactical perspectives.
As a military retiree, I understand his point of view.
But like so many, he has for too long now mis/disniformed the American public with that “radical” Islam nonsense.

Infidel,
I, too, have a big problem with Fox but I still visit their website for Tucker, Shawn, Laura, and Judge Jeanine.
They should all pack up and leave – and either start their own thing or work for OAN, Newsmax…
Infidel says
Sean is way overrated and gives you analysis that you’ve already heard everywhere else, but the others, I agree w/ you. Add Greg Gutfeld to the list.
The most intellectual voice I hear these days on radio, ever since the passing of Rush, is Andrew Wilkow on Sirius XM’s Patriot channel. He also has a show on Blaze TV, which I don’t watch. If I did get off Newsmax, I’d probably look at Blaze for him. But on Newsmax, I now regularly watch John Bachman in the afternoons, and from 9-11, I watch Cortez and Pallegrino followed by Rob Schmitt. And Eric Bolling is about to get a show there too, called ‘The Balance’. Unlike on ‘The Specialists’ on Fox, he won’t have to put up w/ some lanky airheads like Kat Timpf or Ebony Williams
James Lincoln says
Thanks for the viewing tips, Infidel. And I do like Gutfeld.
P.S. My DragonDictate picked up Sean as Shawn…
Infidel says
Can anyone explain why the US armed forces can’t hire non-muslims who are familiar w/ those languages – Pashto, Dari, Turkish, Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, et al – to join them and act as their translators? Instead of hiring people whose loyalties are suspect, such as this guy, who failed a polygraph test?
gravenimage says
Arabic, certainly–and probably Farsi and Urdu, as well. I agree. But in Afghanistan virtually the entire population there is Islamic–all non-Muslims have been driven out, converted, or murdered long since. Another reason we should not have been there for 20 years.
Infidel says
Dari is a derivative of Farsi, so we could have either engaged translators who know the latter, or even anybody who knew Tajik. Pashto is something that could have been learnt from non-muslims who fled Afghanistan. But the bulk of US operations in Afghanistan was more against al Qaeda, and their people were Arabic speaking, rather than Pashto
But yeah, you’re right that we shouldn’t have stayed there for 20 years

Afghanistan: Taliban calls man ‘infidel’ for serving as US Army translator, beheads him
………….
*Horrifying*. I do think we should make an effort to get these translators out of Afghanistan–but to other parts of the Muslim world, not to the US or other parts of the west.
Giacomo Latta says
This reportage surprises me in that I have yet to read about any happy story concerning an Afghani translator’s emigration to the West. It seems that more were Taliban supporters working as spies to the detriment of the West, something they did not stop when they got here.

And you would be correct, that they should be sent to the many OTHER muslim countries around Afthanistan!! Not HERE!
But with Biden, of course, he’s bringing thousands of them here, to a base in Virginia, and around other states, of course! As if we don’t have enough of them in this country, then here comes MORE!

If one grasps that the Taliban are the purest and best of Muslims, which they most certainly are per Islamic scripture and directives, everything else will follow as a matter of course in properly assessing what Islam is really all about.
Alas, so many in the West, including its elites (e.g., Pope Francis), for whatever rotten and indefensible reason or reasons, still are stupidly determined to exculpate a religion (and yes, just being a religion does not mean it can’t be awful—indeed, where is it written that a religion must be good?) that is simply a horrible “recipe” for the preservation of “the best of the West.”
Meanwhile, courtesy of the Taliban and pure Islam, beheadings and other heinous “activities” will continue. Pure, unadulterated Islam in “action.”
How dumbed down indeed has the West become. At its very peak respecting science, technology, ideas of freedom, women’s rights, minority rights, the capacity to apologize for past wrongdoings (N.B., ALL societies and civilizations have engaged in massive wrongdoings but only the West, it seems, must apologize for this) et al., nonetheless it is now in stupid self-flagellation mode—for absolutely no good reason. Perhaps the very freedoms explored by Western Civilization as no other civilization has remotely explored are, how ironically, a conduit to too much freedom to the extent that self-criticism, in and of itself a laudable endeavor, has become a recipe for civilizational suicide when taken to extremes.
Time for a beer or two and a BBQ pork sandwich—while I still have the liberty to have such delicacies. Oh brother, the entire world is a mess. You betcha’.

“WOW”. the muslim/islamic world finds murder as the answer to all problems in their society.
On another note not sure we should bring these translators to America.
