Really, Cain? What was your first clue? Do you think it would have taken two and a half years to establish his motive if Hassan Khalif Shire Ali had been a “right-wing extremist”? Neither do I.
Meanwhile, “in the lead-up to the attack,” there are “allegations he assaulted an acquaintance, damaged a vehicle with a sledgehammer, assaulted a person with a hammer, was involved in a hit-run and kicked a car door after an altercation with a stranger.”
Yet he was still running around free and able to kill. Were Australian authorities afraid of appearing “Islamophobic”?
“Melbourne’s Bourke Street stabbing rampage was a premeditated ISIS terrorist attack, coroner rules – as the radicalised killer’s shocking crimes in the weeks before are revealed,” Australian Associated Press, June 28, 2021 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
The fatal attack on beloved Melbourne identity and cafe owner Sisto Malaspina in Bourke Street almost three years ago was a premeditated act of terrorism, a coroner has ruled.
Victorian State Coroner John Cain has handed down his findings into the horrifying 19-second attack by Hassan Khalif Shire Ali in November 2018, finding it was motivated by his adherence to Islamic extremism and ISIS.
He found opportunities to prevent the attack may have been missed, but he was unable to conclude that Shire Ali’s trajectory toward it would have been averted if intelligence gaps had been filled, if a different threat assessment had been made or if Shire Ali had not been bailed weeks earlier.
Mr Malaspina, the co-owner of Pellegrini’s Espresso Bar, was one of three people stabbed in a frenzied attack by Shire Ali who was a national security person of interest.
The horror began when Shire Ali set fire to gas tanks in his car.
Bystander Rod Patterson believed he was running to help the driver when he was blindsided by Shire Ali and stabbed in the head with a 22cm hunting knife.
Shire Ali then overpowered Mr Malaspina, repeatedly stabbing him before chasing down security guard Shadi and stabbing him in the neck.
He turned then on police, who tried first to disarm him with their batons before one fired his weapon.
In a hearing on Monday, Judge Cain said the available evidence supported a finding that Shire Ali’s actions constituted a premeditated act of terrorism and an ISIS-inspired attack, attributable to Shire Ali’s adherence to an extremist interpretation of Islam.
He said while the actions of one man that day were intended to intimidate and harm, the acts of many others who stepped in demonstrated the opposite result.
He praised Mr Patterson and other bystanders, including two off-duty police officers who acted with real courage, and in scant regard for the consequences for themselves.
Judge Cain also found the use of lethal force by police was justified in the circumstances.
The two officers who first arrived on the scene, known as A1 and B2, believed they were responding to a car fire but instead found themselves confronted with an armed and determined assailant.
He commended them for their presence of mind, restraint and effective collaboration in a volatile and dangerous situation, noting one of the officers only graduated from the police academy five months earlier and it was their first time working together.
Judge Cain said there was evidence Shire Ali’s criminal behaviour was escalating in the lead-up to the attack, including allegations he assaulted an acquaintance, damaged a vehicle with a sledgehammer, assaulted a person with a hammer, was involved in a hit-run and kicked a car door after an altercation with a stranger….

It took a coroner to figure this out! These people HATE the west and western civilization and western ways. On what level did government think otherwise? Islam screams Islamophobia when the west holds them accountable for what would land you or me in jail. They want to call it Islamophobia and will until Islam has take total control then is will be to late to fix it NOW. This is just nuts

Roughly 1.5 million alternative reasons for such activity have to be considered before the obvious is considered. Frankly, two and one-half years is normally not enough.

Extremist interpretation of Islam = normative Islam.
Non-extremist interpretation of Islam = ignorance about Islam and/or laziness in implementation of Islamic tenets such as death for apostasy (e.g., Sura 4:89), the sanctioning of rape (e.g., Suras 4, 23, 33 and 70) and the waging of holy war across the earth until all the world is under Islamic domination and no more dar al-harb is left (e.g., 109 verses in the Koran commanding this).

Perfectly stated, Wellington.

‘extremist interpretation of Islam’
Apparently to these stupid Western intellectuals it’s extreme to read the words, appearing in black & white on the pages of the Qur’an, thinking those words mean exactly what the author wrote.

It needs to be remembered that the term “extremist ” ,for the most part ,when applied to Muslims in generally a Western term which is not well known in the Islamic nations because of the Muslim worldview , in that what Westerners view as a “extremist Muslim” in Islamic counties Muslims see that same person as a “devout Muslim ” who is totally dedicated the cause of Islam.
James Lincoln says
Very well put, Walter.

The trouble with this bullshit we keep hearing from judges, coroners, politicians and media wankers about how it is only an extremist interpretation of Islam that these murderous Muslim terrorists are following, is that there are just so many of these “extremists” amongst the Muslims. 40,000 terrorist attacks in all countries around the world since the 9/11 attacks. I’d say that such large numbers of Muslim terrorist attacks means that they are being carried out by mainstream Muslims, not fringe dwelling “extremists”. Anyway, there are far too many of these Muslim terrorist attacks, so I would say just slam the door on any Muslims getting into any non-Muslim countries and avoid all this trouble. They are not worth all the trouble and misery they bring with them. And it is complete rubbish, this idea that mainstream Islam is peaceful and only extremist Muslims are violent. All of Islam is full of violence. It’s all there in the Koran, that evil, vicious book. We certainly are not seeing Buddhists carrying out any of these terrorist attacks.

The supreme authority on Sunni Islam is Al Azhar Uni in Cairo. The boss there says nothing to take exception to in Isis interpretation of Islam and a senior female academis has stated that Isis’ female captives should be raped as it’s the ‘best way of humiliating them’. What more is there to learn about this foul cult?

True, Rob.

And yet the Australian mosque mass murderer in New Zealand, was correctly labelled a Right Wing extremist within a day or two of the event occurring. Either New Zealand has an accurate handle on terrorism, or New Zealand’s leftist marxist Government can easily sniff out a Right Wing extremist as opposed to a Muslim Jihadi terrorist, which would probably take them as long as Australia to diagnose the motive of said Jihadi.

“I reported here yesterday that when Mr. Justice Sweeney sentenced Mujaahid Abu Hamza and Ismail ibn Abdullah (or as the media insists on calling them, Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale) for the murder of Lee Rigby, he told them that what they had done was a “betrayal of Islam,” whereupon they became enraged and started a fight. This story gives more detail: they told him that their murder of Rigby was not a betrayal of Islam, and said that the U.S. and Britain would “never be safe.””
