Top UN human rights official Michelle Bachelet says she has “received credible reports of serious violations committed by the Taliban in Afghanistan, including summary executions of civilians and restrictions on women and on protests against their rule.”
But the UN Human Rights council — which includes some of the worst violators, such as Pakistan, China, Cuba and Venezuela — is not taking the Taliban’s savaging of infidels seriously enough:
The council will consider a draft resolution, submitted by Pakistan on behalf of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), that voices concern at reports of violations. But it does not mention the Taliban by name, nor would it set up a fact-finding mission to probe them.
Those who are particularly vulnerable are Christians and other minorities. The Taliban has already been going door-to-door executing Christians, even demanding people’s phones, and if they find a Bible on their device, Taliban jihadists murder them immediately. Expect full-on Christian persecution, as is practically routine in some areas of the Middle East and Africa, where the Islamic State is perpetrating a genocide of Christians.
Prediction: the world will become increasingly apathetic when people realize that Christians are the particular targets of the Taliban, as they do when Christians are targeted in other locations. Christian lives are persistently devalued, including by far too many Western Christians who prefer to turn a blind eye to the jihad. So also are the lives of Jews.
“UN rights boss says has reports of Taliban executions, millions fearful,” Reuters, August 24, 2021:
The top UN human rights official Michelle Bachelet said on Tuesday that she had received credible reports of serious violations committed by the Taliban in Afghanistan, including summary executions of civilians and restrictions on women and on protests against their rule.
Bachelet urged the UN Human Rights Council, holding an emergency session at the request of Pakistan and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to set up a mechanism to closely monitor Taliban actions.
“A fundamental red line will be the Taliban’s treatment of women and girls,” she told the Geneva forum.
“There are grave fears for women, for journalists, and for the new generation of civil society leaders who have emerged in the past years,” Bachelet told the forum’s emergency session, held at the request of Pakistan and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
“Afghanistan’s diverse ethnic and religious minorities are also at risk of violence and repression, given previous patterns of serious violations under Taliban rule and reports of killings and targeted attacks in recent months,” she said.
Nasir Ahmad Andisha, a senior Afghan diplomat from the deposed government, called for accountability for Taliban actions, describing an “uncertain and dire” situation where millions of people fear for their lives.
Independent UN human rights experts, in a joint statement, said that many people were in hiding fearing reprisals as “the Taliban continues to search homes door-to-door.”
“Searches, arrests, harassment, and intimidation, as well as seizures of property and reprisals, are already being reported,” they said.
The council will consider a draft resolution, submitted by Pakistan on behalf of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), that voices concern at reports of violations.
But it does not mention the Taliban by name, nor would it set up a fact-finding mission to probe them.
Instead, it calls on Bachelet to report back to the forum at its March 2022 session and urges all parties to respect human rights law including “the full and meaningful participation of women” and of minorities.
“We were hoping for a stronger text, it is extremely minimalist and we are disappointed,” a Western diplomat told Reuters as heated negotiations continued on the text…..

Don’t Muslims already oppress women? It’s sharia law. Didn’t the UN care when the Taliban did this in remote sections of Afghanistan over the last twenty years? The Taliban was never out of business. It was just not in the spotlight. Was it out of sight, out of mind?
Everyone knew what the Taliban was about during the late 1990s. They showed us what they believed in. The Afghan people had twenty years to vanquish the Taliban but they chose not to fight fellow Muslims. Now they’ll just have to get used to the Taliban again.
The UN is a bad messenger for human rights. It’s not that I don’t care what happens to oppressed people around the world, but I couldn’t care less what UN officials say. Trust has been broken. Their actions over the last two decades speak louder than their words. Get the UN out of the US.

All true, PMK.

The UN Human Rights Council and the OIC are both cruel jokes, actually evil. There may be some good reasons for Western nations to remain in the UN, though I can’t think of any right now, but even if some good reasons exist (and I’m not saying they do), surely the bad reasons for remaining in the UN by a Western nation far outweigh any good ones.
As an American, I greatly desire that the UN leaves the USA—completely. Enough of this farce.

Both! US out of the UN, and UN out of the US!!!

Those bloodthirsty vicious, violent, and murderous Taliban savages spread misery and death wherever in that land they go. The Taliban are so very evil and despicable that they are very similar to the heinous villains described the Bible. Which reads “”Their feet are swift to shed blood: destruction are in their ways: and the way of peace they have not known.” Romans 3:15-17. [K.J.V.]

Since the Taliban have taken over Afghanistan, they have been searching for Christians to kill and likewise burn their Bibles.
This shows that the Bible when compared to and contrasted to the Qu ‘ran is the better and superior of those two books. So much so that the Taliban in fear of the information revealed in the Bible with expose the many false doctrines taught a “divine truth” in the Quran.
Therefore, since the entire foundation of the existence and rule is based on the Qu ‘ran. So the Taliban will go to great lengths to eliminate the Bible from Afghanistan even if it means murdering Christians to do so.
The Taliban are glad to engage in that homicide of Christians

The un is a beast. The oic…wants everyone not bowing to their fake prophet and false god, held guilty of the infamous, non-existent ‘phobia.’ Why would anyone, at any time, consider that this body of beasts would help or protect innocent people who do not share their unholy view?
Millions could be murdered before March next year. And the taliban, the oic, the pakistani gov and people will celebrate over every Christian and Jew who suffer at their hands.
